    DUCK DUCK DUCK

Amiga Amore has AMAZING food. Wow. The pastas were phenomenal, tried their famous Elote Agnolotti and I still think about it months later. Duck duck duck was also really delicious, my first time trying duck flavored pasta and it was yummy and not too fatty. All in all a great spot! Will try their Brunch menu next time.

Loved it. Came in for dinner. Inside is lightly decored. Spacing is a bit tight, but they also have a small back patio for additional seating. Coming from a cool evening it did feel a little warm inside. I got the zucchini bread and duck duck duck pasta. It was delicious! The pasta was creamy with plenty of duck. Portions were decent, you'll probably want a pasta and side/small plate to get full. Will definitely be coming back to try more. Service was good. Friendly staff. There's street parking but you might have to walk a block or two.

Finally made it to Amigo Amore, a cute little spot in Highland Park area blending Hispanic and Italian cuisines. Made a reservation ahead of time so we were sat once we walked in the door. Obviously went right to cocktails, but they are more soju based, so we skipped the drinks this time and moved on to the food. We started with the Chorizo y Clams. A very tasty dish, hearty and flavorful. The clams sit in a broth with chorizo. beans and fregola and come with a chile arbole bread. The chorizo is perfect, great flavor, and the brand give a nice texture component with the bread. The broth is delightful and perfect for dipping the bread in. Just a great dish. For entrees, we tried the cacio e pepe and the lobster pappardelle. For the cacio e pepe, the noodles were cooked perfectly, not overly aldente but not too soft. Reminded me of Rome. But, in terms of flavor, suffering felt like it was missing. Maybe it's the fresh cracked black pepper on top right before you eat it, I'm not sure, but sometime was missing and that was disappointing. For the lobster pappardelle, this was a very nice dish, had a hint of spice from the chile and a decent amount of lobster chunks hidden within the pappardelle pasta. A pretty tasty dish overall, though this was a special the for the day and not generally in the menu. Cozy, warm and welcoming restaurant in Highland Park serving up some creative dishes. With stopping by and trying this culture blend. Definitely get the chorizo and clams, but you can skip the cacio e pepe. If I head back, definitely will try the pork belly and the aguachile.

Some standout, unique dishes here! It's a quaint little spot where seating is a bit tight but intimate and homey inside, with some additional tables out in the back. Service was extremely kind/friendly! Expect the pasta dishes to come out a bit on the slower side because I believe they make their pasta fresh! - Zucchini bread: served with a pepper ricotta and chili oil/pine nut mixture. Great combination of flavors with the sweetness from the bread (which was really moist by the way), pepperiness from the ricotta (very prominent pepper flavor), and aromatic/nutty from the chili oil mixture. Surprisingly one of the standouts! - Elote agnolotti: another favorite of the night -- I mean who cannot love the elote flavors? You can smell the salty funkiness from the cheese the moment the plate was set down. You get a nice burst of sweetness from the corn when you bite into the agnolotti that contrasts very nicely with the cheese - Duck duck duck: such an umami delicious dish. The sauce was almost gravy like with a mix of shredded duck flesh. The pasta was the perfect al dente to stand against the richness of the duck flavor - Carne asada: sadly one of the more underwhelming dishes of the nice :( the steak was cooked a nice medium rare but the mushroom sauce I felt didn't provide much when sandwiched in between the beef, grilled onion, and tortilla - Yuzu pie: delicious tart yuzu custard topped with a generous dollop of meringue (a bit too thick for my preference personally). What more need I say??!! - Free paletas: kindly given to us to celebrate our pregnancy :) one was a vanilla with passion fruit caramel filling although the passion fruit was hard to distinguish amongst the other more predominant flavors (shoutout to Ivan who took the time to congratulate us on the pregnancy and shared his experience as a parent). The other was a nice light coconut sorbet that was a nice refreshing palette cleanser against its more indulgent dessert counterparts Overall really unique concept of dishes/flavors -- some definite hits and some that were more misses but is a spot that I will recommend to friends!

Cute small restaurant with friendly service and delicious food. Parking was a little difficult as it's street only but isn't super busy. My party arrived a little after opening but we noticed it quickly got busy around 6PM on a Thursday night and as it filled up it definitely got a bit too loud inside to easily chat. It was also quite chilly inside so make sure to bring a jacket! The three of us ordered the sweet potato ceviche, aguachile, elote agnolotti, the carne asada, and the endive salad daily special! We were completely stuffed and blown away by all of the dishes and flavors but our favorite had to be the sweet potato ceviche. It was definitely the most surprising dish and so refreshing. Overall would definitely come back and try more dishes as everything was delicious. The habanero hot sauce was also delicious to add to a lot of the dishes. I can't usually handle spice but this was well worth it.

One of the most unique foods was found here in this Mexican/Italian fusion spot. It's a small, cozy, and clean restaurant that is perfect for a date night. I came as a walk-in when it just opened at 4:30 PM and accommodated me right away. Every employee there was friendly and was on top of everything when it came to drinks and dishes. The food there was so delicious. I believe they mashed Mexican and Italian cuisine together very well. I got the chorizo/clam dish along with the duck pasta. Both were flavorful and portion sizes were enough to make me happily full. Don't forget to add in their homemade habanero sauce if you want to have an extra kick. I'll be definitely back here because the other foods on the menu sound just as appetizing!

My friend found Amiga Amore on open table, we decided to hit it up before a comedy show. We were sat on the back patio, which makes you feel that you are dinning at someone's backyard in the summer time (which was a cool twist, dope to see chilies grown in the back). We started off with two cocktails (not pictured) the margarita and watermelon highball. The drinks took awhile to arrive, we were checked on a couple of times. We were told they were on the way multiple times, someone came by to drop drinks but it was the wrong order. We at least waited 20+ minutes for cocktails that were average at best. We had to wait longer for the cevchie, which again was not what we expected in terms of taste. The elote pasta was an interesting fusion (really just tajin thrown on a ravioli) and the duck pasta was decent, none of these were above average. However, for what you pay for you going to leave hungry and disappointed. My friend and I both used to work in the restaurant industry, we are both very understanding when it is busy etc. however, the service could have been more attentive.

We were really excited to try out this restaurant since it combines two of our favorites, Italian and Mexican. We had made a reservation, which I highly recommend because the place gets pretty busy, and we arrived a bit earlier than our scheduled time. Even so, we were seated just a few minutes later and spent the short wait looking over the menu. Since we came during brunch, the menu leaned more toward breakfast style items. Because it was our first visit, I asked our server for recommendations and she gave us a few solid suggestions. We started with the special of the day, Cacio e Pepe, and also ordered the Conejo Malo Pozole, which came in a tomatillo broth with braised rabbit and hominy. Surprisingly, the Cacio e Pepe was very bland and almost tasteless, and the noodles were a bit hard. They mix an egg into the pasta tableside, which was a nice touch, but it still lacked flavor overall. On the other hand, the pozole completely surprised me. Coming from a Mexican background, I found it unique with a nice citrusy note and a thicker than usual broth. It was very delicious. I debated whether or not to mention that I did not enjoy the Cacio e Pepe, but when I told the server, she immediately offered to remove it from the bill without hesitation. We then ordered the chilaquiles, and wow, this quickly became my favorite dish of the entire meal. These are not your typical Mexican chilaquiles. They are made with fried pasta chips and have a sweet yet savory flavor. We ordered them with pork belly, and I honestly wished we had ordered a second plate, but we wanted to keep exploring the menu. The portions were decent, which is why we ordered a bit more food. We were also using our Chase Sapphire dining credit and still had plenty left. It was clear the servers were used to guests checking their totals mid meal since others were doing the same, which made it easy to enjoy the experience without worrying about going over the credit. Next up was the carnitas burrito with tater tots inside. Without the sauce, it lacked some flavor, but the meat itself was very tender. I had a few bites and saved the rest for leftovers. As we were getting ready to close out, we overheard the server mention ravioli. Apparently, they had run out of some brunch items and replaced them with a dinner option, so we decided to order the beef ravioli to go. When I tried them later at home, they were also a bit bland. The beef added a nice touch, but overall they were missing some flavor. As for drinks, we really enjoyed the Mexitalian Bellini, which tasted very natural and refreshing. The Wellness Tonic was also refreshing but definitely packed a strong spicy kick. I also ordered the Dirty Pistachio Horchata with a tequila shot. It was not sweet at all and almost reminded me of an unsweetened matcha, but the pistachio and cinnamon flavors definitely came through. Overall, I have been fortunate enough to eat pasta in Rome, Venice, and Florence, and while some of the flavor concepts here were present, a few dishes were lacking depth. That said, we came for brunch, and I am definitely willing to come back to try their dinner menu. It was a pleasant experience, and I would absolutely return just for another plate or two of those chilaquiles. The staff was very friendly and hardworking, and I even noticed what seemed to be a co owner helping out guests around the restaurant. I would recommend checking this place out. It is a fun concept, a nice experience, and it will not break your wallet.

As I've said many times before, the better the restaurant, the easier it is to write the review. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, we felt truly welcomed. That alone would have made the visit memorable, but being served some of the best Mexican / Italian fusion dishes we've experienced elevated it even further. I would love to return to try some of their other dishes BB

Great food (small dishes, but with the heavier side, the portions were more than enough). Street parking Food/Drink- 5 stars Rosita- well balanced and delicious! great start to the evening Elote agnolotti- this is their signature dish for a reason. Seasoned well, hearty, and with the right amount of chew. I could eat so much of this Duck duck duck- incredibly hearty and loved the bit of wok hei in the linguine. A bit on the saltier side Al Pastor Pork belly- same as above. Super hearty and delicious. My only compliant is that the skin can really get stuck in your teeth and be slightly unpleasant Pistachio horchata affogato- it was good, but pretty standard Service- 5 stars Food was out quickly and servers were great. Great experience all around Bottom Line Enjoyed the Mexican-Italian flavors here. Do come ready for a heavy meal though

Amiga Amore @amigaamorela We had the following dishes: Smaller Plates - Sweet Potato Ceviche Pasta - Elote Agnolotti Drinks - Pistachio Horchata Affogato This is a spot where an acquaintance got married, as it was their favorite place. As a lover of Mexican and Italian cuisine, it has been my goal to try it. I finally got to try it for my birthday dinner. I'd say that this spot is perfect for people who love saucy dishes. The Elote Agnolotti was to die for, and I was thinking about it for days. The Pistachio drink is non-alcoholic, but you can definitely taste the pistachio, which is what a lot of pistachio drinks nowadays lack. The servers are really nice, and they even have a postcard as a memento. We sat inside as it was a hot day, but they also have a dining spot at the back. This is a spot I'd definitely love to come back to!

Amiga Amore is a newer Mexitalian restaurant in the heart of Highland Park. This spot has gained a lot of traction in the last few years. It was recently featured on Andrew, Steven, and Adam's new show. I recently came on weekend, and the service was spectacular. They constantly came to check in and even gave us an extra piece of Aguachile to allow us all to have a piece to share! The inside is significantly bigger than I expected. They have a whole back patio that's setup like a romantic backyard picnic. The food was definitely the highlight. Nearly every dish was a highlight. My favorite was the Duck, Duck, Duck as the flavor was bold and delicious. The Cacio e Pepe was also delicious, as I really liked the noodles. I was also shocked by how yummy the Ossobuco was! The price of all of the dishes was also very fair, especially compared to the options in the area. Overall, Amiga Amore is an amazing option for any occasion! A date night, food with friends, or if you want to find new flavors!

Came here for dinner, the interior is very cute. The staff are so friendly and attentive. The Aguachile was fresh, had great flavor, and decent size for sharing. The Elote agnolotti is my FAVORITE pasta dish, I can see why it's popular. I love the corn filling- I shared this dish, but will order my own next time! The duck duck duck is made with duck carnitas and has a savory, meaty flavor profile. The al pastor pork belly is juicy with a crunchy, crispy skin- also one of my favorites. To finish the meal we ordered the mango pie & strawberry cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Both options were sweet, but not overly sweet. Parking- street parking

Everything was absolutely delicious! You really can't go wrong with any choices on the menu. Everything we cooked to perfection with a lot of flavor. Also, if you sit at the hightop bar, the kitchen is an open concept so you can watch the chefs cook and plate the food. As far as the drinks, I am not sure if they have a full bar but they do have a few selection of wine along with a small cocktail menu. I stuck with the cucumber basil (with tequila). Flavorful and refreshing. Street parking may be hard to find but they do have valet parking for $12. Overall, it's worth a visit. I look forward to dining here again.

Sitting at the bar was definitely a plus because we got to watch the chefs cook throughout the night. We ordered the spicy pomodoro, squid ink mafaldine, and steak tartare, along with a sauvignon blanc and merlot to pair with the pasta. The steak tartare was good, but it was lacking a bit of flavor. The bread that came with it was perfectly toasted and honestly my favorite part of the dish. The spicy pomodoro was perfectly al dente and flavorful but it didn't really live up to the hype for me. I couldn't taste any truffle and it wasn't spicy at all. It was still a good pasta, just not life changing. The squid ink mafaldine was unfortunately pretty lackluster. The pasta tasted like al dente salt water, the prawns were overcooked, and it felt like they just threw a handful of raw basil on top and called it a day. The wines were good and paired well with the food but there wasn't anything particularly memorable about them. Service was great. Our server was super attentive and helpful. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere was great, service was on point, and even though some dishes fell short, I'd definitely come back to try their other dishes!

Still stands-up to the hype after all these years…read more If "Trendy" was a restaurant, Bestia would easily be in top contention, even after being around for more than a decade. That says a lot. Once upon a time (a few years ago), my CFP + banking institution wanted to thank me for being one of their top private clients. They expressed their gratitude with a very generous, all expense paid full-course meal at Bestia. To say that I was impressed would be an understatement. Fast forward to now, I knew that coming back here would be a good idea. Make no mistake, even if you try to book a reservation several weeks in-advance, don't be surprised if the only available seats are at the counter. Granted, I was in a spacey table during my past visit, the counter can be an enjoyable & unintentionally entertaining space. It's great for a more casual vibe, as you get to see some of the kitchen workers put together some of their signature dishes. In many ways, Bestia seems like a microcosm of the city that it rather humbly resides within. What always catches me off-guard, is that the surrounding simple area really doesn't reflect the happening, vibrant, night-life that resides within the building's walls. You feel like you're taken so a different, very social, very bustling world. WINE: Podere 72, Poderi San Lazzaro (Marche region, central Italy) - 8.7 / 10 A very robust blend of Montepulciano & Sangiovese grapes that results in a balanced, medium bodied red wine that stands-up to heartiness of a beef ribeye steak. FOOD: Roasted Bone Marrow - 9.4/ 10 I have several friends that go here just for this particular dish. Funny enough, one can almost always tell that one is at Bestia because of the rather peculiar manner in which this dish is served. Hot, melted bone marrow is appropriately scooped out of the bone & poured onto spinach gnocchetti. It's like eating beef flavored mouth pillows of potato + spinach. It's definitely a dish that will impress whoever you are with. I can never resist ordering this whenever I am here. Oxtail alla Vaccinara - 8.9 / 10 The deep, rich maroon color of the rigatoni (thanks to beets) is a sight to behold. The pasta is firm but not too hard. It's a humble yet complex pasta dish that complements any main course. 26oz Margaret River Wagyu Ribeye - 9.4 / 10 Anybody who knows me knows that I love my ribeye. Any decent fancy restaurant does a ribeye. But no one does a ribeye quite like Bestia. The fermented mushroom cream delivers a punch of pungence not unlike a delectable dijon mustard, but to the highest of levels. This dish also makes me a believer in well-cooked onions served alongside steak. I usually like to take a home a portion of ribeye for later, but this is one of the very few instances when the steak is so good, that I can't help but finish it here. Again, the portion is more than enough to be shared. Fromage Blanc Mousse - 9.1 / 10 This seasonal dish hits all the right notes. It's the fanciest of cheesecakes, so I recommend sharing this. With its decadence, a little truly goes a long way & that's perfectly fine. The richness of the cheese is offset perfectly by the right balance of candied kumquats. A great "bite" to end on. Huge shout-out & thanks to Radu for being the nicest & most enthusiastic of servers. It's little things like him being so down to take pics of you with your party that really make me want to come back here. It the owners / management is reading this, please recognize how pivotal he is to your team. If he was working under me, I would most definitely give him a raise. Also, shout-out to Dani at the hostess stand. She is one of the most personable people. For being the first person that patrons see upon entering, she is the perfect face, attitude, & welcoming personality that the hospitality industry is in dire need of. She's a rockstar of a hostess & a pleasure to talk with. Bestia is a better place because of valuable employees like Radu & Dani. As always, come for the food. Come back for the service. I would definitely come back because of how amazing Radu & Dani are. Years after the hype, the vibe is still very much happening at Bestia.

The biggest disappointment was the service. Our server was unwilling to accommodate even simple requests. One friend in our group doesn't drink, and when we asked if her mocktail could be served in a cocktail glass so she could feel included, he simply said no. He also refused to make an espresso martini despite having the ingredients available. To make matters worse, one of our dishes never arrived. When we brought it up, the server responded, "I asked you if it came out and you said yes," instead of apologizing for the mistake. Afterward, he took the bill and appeared to be talking negatively about our table. For a restaurant with such a stellar reputation, I expected much better. Between the tiny portions, average food, and poor service, I won't be back

Everything we've tried has been excellent, and it's one of those rare restaurants where every dish feels like a hit. The Caesar salad is easily one of the best I've had. Every piece of lettuce is perfectly coated in dressing, the croutons are great, and the mountain of freshly grated cheese takes it over the top. The garlic bread is unreal. If you order the prawns, do yourself a favor and dip the bread into that buttery garlic sauce, spoon some extra sauce on top, and eat it while it's soaked. It's ridiculous. The Alla Vodka pasta is always a safe choice, rich and comforting without being too heavy. The lasagna came out with a beautifully crisp top straight from the oven and was packed with flavor. The potatoes were another surprise favorite--super crispy and served with a house-made aioli that made them impossible to stop eating. The chicken parm was excellent too: crispy, fresh, loaded with sauce, and exactly what you want from a classic Italian-American dish. The meal ended on a high note with complimentary limoncello shots from the house. For dessert, we had the tiramisu and panna cotta. The panna cotta had a subtle basil flavor that made it unique and memorable, while the tiramisu was honestly one of the best I've ever had--light, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Service was fantastic. The staff was friendly, funny, and genuinely welcoming. The funniest part of the night was that we accidentally booked a reservation at the Donna in New York instead of this restaurant. Even after our mistake, the host was incredibly kind and got us seated within about 15 minutes. One thing to note: pets are not allowed, except for service animals. Donna's has become one of my favorite spots. Great food, great service, and a fun atmosphere. I'll definitely keep coming back.

We made a reservation for Thursday night just incase there was a wait. Upon arrival, we noticed they were very busy and the wait was pretty long so I do recommend making a reservation a least a few days before arrival. The hostess sat us after 5-10 min, the whole restaurant was BUZZING with people and dates. The restaurant overall was fairly small and intimate so it's understandable why the wait would be long. The server, Robert, was extremely friendly when he greeted us. He recommended a few cocktails to us and apps. We grabbed a few cocktails and got their garlic bread and cesar salad for the table. The garlic bread was good but honestly a pass for the future visit. The cesar salad was really good and refreshing so we will forsure get another. I, personally, got the Limoncello Drop (Their twist on a limoncello and lemon drop martini) which was delicious! I highly recommend getting one, it's extremely light, refreshing and zesty. For the mains, We decided on the chicken marsala, spaghetti & meatballs, and Fusilli alla vodka. The chicken marsala was extremely juicy and flavorful while it's smothered in onions and mushrooms. The spaghetti was decent, alittle bland and lacking flavor so we'd pass on it next time. The Fusilli alla vodka was our favorite though! The flavor is the chilis and vodka sauce work well together and the pasta was cooked very well. I got extra calabrian chilis for the pasta which complimented the pasta very well. We noted that the vodka is a MUST in the future. For dessert, since we were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday, we got the olive oil cake which was soooo delicious. They do NOT offer free or complimentary dessert for birthdays (which we didn't expect nor want) so just a heads up! The cake was really moist and flavorful yet did strongly taste like oil (kinda obvious). The did put a candle and whip creme on top for us to sing which was really cute. Overall, I recommend stopping in for a cute date night or to celebrate birthdays! The staff was really nice and funny. Most of the food was really yummy and flavorful. Plus all of the cocktails were a decent price point and full of flavor and ingredients. I will for sure be back soon to try more and grab another Limoncello drop martini!!

The Caesar salad was really good, and the branzino was honestly one of the best I've ever had - great presentation too. The kitchen staff in the back were some latino dudes but tbey clearly know what they're doing because the food tasted very authentic and well executed. I'm giving 3 stars for service because we waited way too long for our bottle of wine. When it finally came out, it wasn't the bottle I ordered, and our waitress Lauren insisted it was the same thing, which felt insulting because it was obviously not the same vintage - it was off by two years. At that point, I just wanted some wine already, so l let it go. That said, the ambiance was great, and the food alone makes this place worth visiting.

We stopped here on our way home from our honeymoon, and it turned out to be a great choice to end the trip on a high note. The service was genuinely excellent. We had a reservation for two, were warmly welcomed, and our server did an outstanding job throughout the evening. In Los Angeles, it can be hard to find places where the staff actually seems to enjoy what they do, and this was a refreshing exception. As for the food, it was a bit of a mixed experience. The margherita pizza was the one that disappointed me the most, mostly because I had high expectations. I love a good margherita, but this one had too much cheese and sauce and not enough basil, so it ended up tasting more like a plain cheese pizza, which is honestly my least favorite. That said, the crust was absolutely sensational. The meatballs were decent but could have used more salt. The desserts, however, were the highlight of the meal. When we mentioned it was our honeymoon, the staff surprised us with a complimentary olive oil cake, which was my first time trying one and it was wonderful. The fried dough with Nutella was also amazing. The desserts here are generous, well-made, and absolutely worth saving room for. Overall, a lovely experience with room for improvement on the savory side.

The experience did not disappoint -- it was beautiful from beginning to end. Our extraordinary server was James. He was engaging, attentive and unpretentious. His knowledge of the menu was impressive as he explained each section and item in a simplified way. After making our choices, he suggested changing one of our pasta selections since they all had heavy sauces. We accepted his recommendation of the Spaghetti Arrabbiata, which turned out to be everyone's favorite! The tomato-based sauce was light and perfectly spicy. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING was amazing. The focaccia, oxtail meatballs and burrata with ham were a great start, showcasing the quality of the ingredients and thoughtful preparations -- they set the tone for our entire meal. The taste and texture of the freshly made pastas were unmistakable and so, so good with the wonderful sauces. The lamb chops were well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. I especially enjoyed the bed of sliced snow peas, green beans and English peas set over mint sauce. After all that, we had just enough room for shared desserts -- Budino and Tiramisu. Both were the perfect finish to a delicious meal. If you like chocolate, the Budino is for you -- rich but not overly sweet. Each yummy bite with the crumble topping was nicely balanced by the sprinkled salt. Service was impeccable and well-coordinated. We especially appreciated that dishes and utensils were changed after each course. A couple things to keep in mind: *Reservations - Via Resy. The reservation window is open 14 days at a time. *Parking - Valet is right in front. We found street parking just around the corner on Sunset (metered but free after 7pm). *Price Point - Approximately $100 per person. Mother Wolf is a cashless establishment. A 5% wellness fee is added to all checks. We will absolutely be back!
