A friend recommended this spot and we were mildly skeptical since my husband is from San Diego and is very selective about Mexican food... and we were a long way from California and Mexico! We ordered nachos, quesadilla, carne asada, veggie tostadas and they were all amazing. The hot salsa was legit! Excited to return next time we are in Maui. Bartender was so friendly and accommodated our request for everything on the side (for the kids!)

Amigo's has opened in Napili Plaza. It's a strip mall style shopping center and there's a parking lot there including a few electric vehicle chargers in front of Amigo's. Stopped by late Sunday afternoon. They had football playing on the tvs but weren't too crowded. Our server, Regina, was very friendly and attentive. Food came out quick. I got the cheese enchiladas any my friend got a burger. Burger was stacked high with game, cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato. Burger at a Mexican restaurant wouldn't be my pick but my friend enjoyed it. She even had 1/2 still left for leftovers that she took with her. Enchiladas hit the spot. It's nice to have another option for Mexican food on the west side.

I absolutely love Amigos. So this was a fun spur of the moment lunch take out order. Especially from a new location I haven't been to yet. Which I still need to plan a dine in visit in the future too. Until next time. XOXO, ChelsieFletcher

Excellent happy hour (3-6pm) and great food overall. Far better than the Mexican restaurant by the Times grocery store. Busy but minimal wait for a seat at the bar during happy hour, or a table weeknights. Definitely a new favorite on the west side of Maui!

Our first time here. We're visiting from California. A waiter at a nearby resort recommended this place. Food was good (especially chile verde). Service - not good. We were seated for at least 5 minutes before being acknowledged and the owner (I think) was about 20' from us, rolling silverware. Took another 5 minutes to get our drinks. Food came out fast. No warmth in service. Ambiance is typical Mexican restaurant.

Was craving Mexican Food after way too much Hawaiian food the past 4 days. Being from Southern California, it's hard to find comparable quality in Hawaii, but Amigos in Napili measures up. We shared a chili verde plate for lunch and texted of us barely finished it. Great chile flavor but had a little zing to it. Heat level was almost jalapeno level. Loved the rice as it was not garlicky tasting as some places tend to do. Refried beans with melted cheese on top was on point. Although the salsa looked less dense than what we're used to it still had very good flavor. Service was great and our waitress did a great job handling about 6 tables of by herself! Having negra modelo on tap was a nice bonus. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the pricing is a little high for it not being on a resort property. Will definitely be back next time we're on the island.

Went here for dinner. Really good Mexican food. I was told the carne asada was good so I tried the California burrito. It was delicious. Hubby has the whole fried tilapia plate which was also very good. Could use a little seasoning in my opinion but cooked well. Good homemade salsa and hot fresh chips which to me says a lot about a Mexican restaurant. Also good Margaritas. Will go back for Brunch and happy hour which they have twice daily.

He had not been since the fire and was excited! It was a busy day in April when lots of tourists were around and the restaurant was quite busy, I have to give special thanks to our server who really busted her tail for us. Everyone enjoyed their drinks, my margarita was spot on, I would have gone for two, but I had to drive later. I was amazed how quickly the food arrived at the table, given the place was jammed! I had a combo that included a chicken enchilada and chili relleno. I believe it was "off menu" I do not remember, but they will accommodate your desires. The enchilada was fine, but my determining factor at Mexican restaurants is the chili relleno, which was superb, in my estimation. We were able to talk all across the table but due to the crowd that evening we had to add a few decibels to our speech! Do not get me wrong, this is not a horribly noisy place, but I would not suggest it if you want a quiet night out. Some people hand out 5 star ratings for anything good, for me 4 stars is excellent, do not be misled!

We ended up choosing to sit by the bar and were greeted by our server/bartender timely. We ordered chips and salsa, chips were warm and crisp to perfection salsa was super good! We ended up ordering the burrito, enchiladas and garlic shrimp. Everything was really good BUT the garlic shrimp was to die for! Definitely worth the $40! The sauce, the serving, the size of the shrimp...just amazing. And our server made our visit such a pleasant experience. I'd also like to add, well kept restrooms for customers say so much about an establishment. Highly recommend this place!

My husband and I had the carne asada arepa on our first visit, and today I tried the Pabellón Arepa with shredded beef, black beans, sweet plantains, and cheese. They also offer a house-made chimichurri that takes the flavor to another level. Let me just say--this place puts love into every dish they make. The portions are generous, the prices are very reasonable, and every visit was met with warm, friendly customer service. To finish our meal, my daughter and I shared the coconut and mango slushies, which are made with natural ingredients and were incredibly refreshing. As someone who is Hispanic and pretty picky when it comes to authentic Latin food, I can honestly say this exceeded my expectations. The food is authentic, fresh, and full of flavor. The restaurant also has a charming atmosphere with Venezuelan memorabilia that gives it a warm, welcoming vibe. If you're looking for high-quality Latin food made with care, do yourself a favor and stop by. You won't be disappointed! An absolutely unforgettable dining experience from start to finish!…read moreThe food was outstanding, but what truly made the evening exceptional was our server, Joe. After dining at countless restaurants over the years, I can honestly say Joe is the best server I've ever had. His attention to detail was second to none. He took the time to explain every dish, what each ingredient was, and how it was prepared, making the entire meal feel like a culinary experience rather than just dinner. Our drinks were magically refilled before we even realized we needed another sip, and when it was time to take leftovers home, he carefully wrapped everything in foil before placing it into the to-go containers so the food stayed fresh and protected. It's the little touches like these that separate great service from extraordinary service. Every dish we ordered was incredible. The scallops were perfectly cooked, the truffle risotto was rich and flavorful, the crispy duck was tender with an amazing crispy skin, and the fried whole snapper was absolutely delicious and a must-order. Joe's professionalism, knowledge, and genuine hospitality turned an already fantastic meal into a night we'll remember for a long time. If you visit, do yourself a favor and ask to sit in Joe's section. He sets the gold standard for what hospitality should be. We'll definitely be back!
