This review is based solely on their breakfast tacos on flour tortillas which I am a fan of for sure. They have really good homemade flour tortillas and their salsa is also homemade. It's not too spicy and has a good consistency. Their tacos are a good size and have your usual choices (eggs, ham, bacon, cheese potato) but I really like and recommend their picadillo, spicy potato and garne guisada tacos. Some places you need to have two tacos to be full but here one taco can suffice that appetite and justifies their price. I usually see Iris behind the counter when I am ordering and she's always been polite so I am not sure about all these reviews about sour service. They are efficient and nice enough to me. Also random, if you need some AVON products, Iris is a representative and there are some products on a shelf to the right of the counter as well. Go here and give them a try. I tried this place after getting one of those coupon deals. It's in a shopping center in Pflugerville. You go in, look at the menu written on dry erase boards, order at the counter, and they bring your food out- pretty quickly! And, the food was tasty! My fiance and I didn't get the bbq since we went for breakfast. We got the migas plate and a couple of tacos. The tortillas were very good while all of the ingredients tasted very authentic. We definitely want to come back for some lunch items. There were even a few people that came in that looked like they were on their lunch break and picked up some to-go items. They must be popular for their burgers and such too. It's a little far of a drive for us but if we're ever in the area and feeling like breakfast or even trying a new bbq joint, we'll definitely try here again. read more

First time here and tried the Chicken fried chicken on their daily lunch special menu. Got to say it was delicious! Served with corn, crinkled fries and corn bread. Chicken breast was cooked well and the breading went great with the gravy. The corn and fries don't have salt or pepper which I prefer because you add the amount to your liking. I don't give many 5 star reviews but this place earns it. There is nothing I've eaten here and not been impressed by. They have the best Chicken and dumplings I've ever eaten. It's only available in the cooler months on Tuesdays. I also love their breakfast tacos (they are big), the chalupas, and last Friday I had the fried fish for the first time. It was the most delicious fish and chips I've ever had. Perfectly breaded and cooked catfish. The tartar sauce was incredible as well. I decided to order some breakfast here on a recommendation from a friend. So, I ordered both carne guisada and sausage and egg tacos. Both tacos were proportioned well with meat, and the tortillas were also pretty good. But, the sauce or salsa did not taste very good that morning. And, a couple of people at work were not overly impressed with the tacos. However, i believe that everyone is entitled to have a "off" day and i will revisit them soon. read more

My husband and I had late lunch here on Saturday. The owner was awesome! He was very helpful, attentive, and pleasant. He went above and beyond with his customer service. It was definitely stand-out level service. The bathrooms were very clean!!! We had the grilled chicken sandwich, beans, brisket, and sausage. The food was really good and we will return. I want to try the breakfast tacos :) There are some funny signs posted inside. People who are really sensitive might be offended, but we thought they were funny even though they don't necessarily align with our personal beliefs. The breakfast tacos are great. However, I just ate the migas plate and it was probably the worst I have ever had. It was only eggs and fried tortillas...thats it, no cheese, no pico (or jalapenos). The bacon wasn't even mixed into the migas, it was in a ball on the side and you have to put it in your migas yourself...so much better when its cooked with bacon in it. Not to mention that conservative politics are openly discussed here and they are very proud of that, you might want to put your ear buds in if you're liberal while waiting for your food. I have no idea what the BBQ is like, so I cannot review that yet. read more

Today was my first and last time to patronize this place. I had an egg, bean, and cheese taco with avocado. The combination was good, and the tortilla tasted homemade. When I described a taco a friend at work had brought in, the girl taking orders acted annoyed and rudely said she didn't know what I was talking about. This is another one of my favorite places to stop for breakfast tacos. I just wish it were in a better location; they're so isolated from basically anything. I think the restaurant next door has already gone through several name/style changes. In any case, the food is good, and the service is quick. During the winter months, well, the few winter days we have, Paul & Iris will make a few seasonal dishes like fried fish during Lent, chicken & dumplings & menudo (when you need to clear up that hangover). If this establishment wants to go the next level, they should consider moving their operation to the defunct Pflugerville Pizza and Wing Factory on Dessau Road. We have been coming here for quite a few years, usually for breakfast. The tacos are great I haven't had any that I didn't like, the Spicy Potato and Egg is always a go to and never disappoints. The BBQ Chicken and pulled pork are very tasty along with the Carne Guisado. Paul and Iris are always friendly and welcoming whether at breakfast or lunch. The botana platter can easily feed 2-3.. your orders can be called in if youre in a hurry. I LOVE BBQ, so when a friend invited me to join him, I was excited to try the brisket taco. I ordered a brisket taco and a carne guisada taco. To my disappointment, the brisket was bland and dry. The carne guisada had way too much pepper but lacked other spices that would give it good flavor. I came here 15 minutes before their breakfast time ended and the large Hispanic lady took about 5 minutes to attend to us because she was too busy talking to the cooks even though she sees us standing there. Anyone who likes/loves this place clearly doesn't know what TX BBQ is or should taste like. This brisket had a gummy texture and no smoke ring or flavor. Being a Q cooker myself, I usually don't enjoy BBQ served at restaurants because the flavor is just not the same. Well, this place had a fantastic sliced brisket sandwich with it's own homemade BBQ sauce. Yummy, tender, and plenty of onions and pickles to go with it.
