    Chicken taco and suadero taco

Took advantage of some Cinco de Mayo specials today. The guacamole and suadero taco were great. The meat was not chewy at all and so flavorful. The rice was just ok but that isn't what you go to a Mexican restaurant for!

Came here for the first time because I was craving birria tacos and this place was recommended by a friend. The tacos were good, they hit the spot! Very filling and meaty, but some may say that it needs more cheese. It came with 3 birria tacos and it was a good portion for me. We ate in the restaurant and they gave complimentary chips and salsa as well. The service was kind and attentive, you order at the register and they just bring the food out to you. It was a small and quiet restaurant and pretty cozy with pillows on the benches. I would come back here whenever I'm craving Mexican cuisine.

Traditional style Mexican food in heart of St Clair Shores. Highly recommend trying the "Spicy Street Corn" made with flaming hot Cheetos, Mexican cheese and corn. To quench your thirst try the Mangonada. It is sweet, tangy, and a little bit spicy. The Tamarindo Candy Straw adds to the presentation and is a nice sweet fruit roll up taste.

Amigos Street Tacos gets most of its business from carry out, but dine in is also an option. My entire order was served in less than 10 minutes. The birria tacos and chips and salsa were pretty good. The al pastor, chorizo, and suadero tacos along with a tamale were just average. The California quesadilla and mangonada were shoddy, to say the least. The churros were surprisingly the best part of the meal. If you're looking for convenience, Amigos is a decent spot to check out.

Twelve stars for Amigos!! OMG we just finished such a feast! No wimpy portions or flavors here. We couldn't decide so we had tacos locos, chicken quesadilla, crispy wrap, chicken fajita bowl, fish tacos and fresh made chips from their fresh-made tortillas. No idea they would offer such huge portions. There was a guy at the counter eating a special burrito - he needed two hands to get around that thing and it looked awesome. We hadn't been to amigos for a bit- our loss- and their new location in the village of GP is getting all the press but the chef and staff here at this location really deserve a round of applause!

I've…read morebeen coming here for over five years, and at this point, it is one of the only places I'll go when I want tacos because everything else tends to leave me wondering why I didn't just come here in the first place. The tacos are every bit as good as people say and the environment is clean and relaxed, they usually have some good music playing too. Authentic, flavorful, consistent, and made with care. But the birria is the real star for me. Hands down, it is the best birria I've had anywhere in Metro Detroit. Rich, tender, packed with flavor, and exactly the kind of thing you think about again later like it owes you money. The owner is also genuinely one of the sweetest people. He remembered my order after only a few visits, and that kind of personal touch makes the place feel even more special. I usually stick with my Mexican Coke, but I love that they have their liquor license now, because a margarita or Corona with the food is a very solid upgrade. I've brought a bunch of people here and sent a whole handful of others, and everyone has said the same thing. It is some of the best Mexican food they've ever had. One of my friends even said it was better than what he had in California and Mexico, which is a bold statement, but Que Pasa can handle bold statements. Que Pasa is not just good for the area, it is the standard I compare everyone else to. Which is probably unfair to everyone else, but here we are.

We love Oaxaca (Troy), but thought we'd try out Que Pasa as well, while we were in the area. Oaxaca…read morereigns as local best in our opinion! Things that worked at Que Pasa: the margaritas were excellent, and all the food we tried (tortas, tacos, burritos, quesadillas) were very good too. Things that need work: there was definitely a language barrier ordering and requesting that they bill our three families separately. They were using a handheld machine for orders and it took three times going over our order before it was finally put in correctly. Although we asked for bills separated, we wound up with one bill, which was too tricky to split up the way they had entered everything, so we paid for everything and had to figure out $ later. Not a major deal, just a nuisance. Also, no AC and the seating was the type of wood that needs shellacking since the shine has worn off and it's sticky. You leave feeling sweaty and sticky, and that's not the way you want to feel on a hot day.

My wife and I have been running errands and wanted to try something new for supper and found this place on yelp. When we arrived it seemed a little quiet, but the hostess/waitress quickly appeared and showed us to a table. From there everything went smoothly. I opted for a plate of enchiladas, and found them to be very well prepared and seasoned. The salsa had that wonderful tomato forward texture to it that I enjoy very much. The room is small, and it's clear that they get most of their business on carryout. That being said I think if you showed up with a somewhat larger party they would be glad to take care of you. They certainly took good care of us.

Being that I'm on this side of town for a few days, I figured it was finally time to check it out. The location's much bigger with more seating than the Rochester Hills one. Nicely decorated with ample seating, you order at the counter and they run the food out to you. Not sure if they have waitresses or not, but that's how they were running it when I was there. I asked if they had Birria tacos and the man behind the counter said they do, just not on the menu. I ordered the taco dinner with shredded beef, rice, beans and a glass of water. I got served chips and dip which was okay, but the salsa was a bit runny for my liking. The "hot" salsa was good, and wasn't overpowering. Eventually, my food came out and it was a huge portion! I was impressed with all three tacos, rice and beans. It was only $13 on the menu, so I was happy with how much food I was served. The beef was a little on the dry side but still fairly good. Rice and beans were decent, but the music was a bit on the louder side. I docked a star for the meat being a bit dry and louder music considering it wasn't really necessary. The man who rang me up was super nice and friendly and also went through the menu with me since I had a few questions before ordering. Overall, a decent meal for the price and I'd return in the future.

Service is good the cashier was pleasant and friendly. I happened to stop by on Taco Tuesday while visiting the Detroit Burbs. With a name like Taco Kings I expected amazing tacos. These were quite disappointing. The daily special was blah and the tacos were mediocre. My friend told me she enjoys the nachos and quesadillas here. I probably should have tried that instead of tacos. That probably was my sign and a hint to try her favorites. The street taco (steak) lacked in seasoning and was a bit chewy. The Tuesday Special hard shell taco barely had cheese. It was loaded with tomatoes more than anything else. The meat wasn't well seasoned either. The tacos are definitely a NO for me. The man who creates the tacos at El Loco Panda does so with love, and you can tell - Love for his culture, Love for the community. When I was waiting for my order to be wrapped up, a disciple sitting in the waiting area piped up and said, "The food here is good." If I know Detroiters (cuz I am one), we're not quick to compliment. Like Mexico, there is great diversity in what we consider to be a "taco." You have ground beef, Al pastor, chicken, sea bass, mahi mahi, vegan. You can top it with everything from queso Fresca to a refined julienne radish slaw. IDGAF! As long as it's fresh and well done, I'm here for it! My favorite here? The birria by far. The consommé served on the side is quite delicious and unexpectedly elegant, like a rose from the concrete. I feel like Loco Panda and its' chef reflects the essence of the east side of Detroit. Lemme 'splain: The tacos are hearty. They are heavy with meat and (gasp) yellow cheese sauce. So hearty, he had to double up on tortillas! He further bucks tradition and goes against the grain stylistically (soooo Detroit) and tops with red onion instead of white! Where they do that at?! Whereas you usually need to eat 3-4 street tacos from the festival trucks or Southwest to get full, you'll be full off of 1-2 of these, trust. Think like the good "real" Mac n cheese that we eat versus Kraft . Think "dressing" versus "stuffing." I think what I am trying to say is, ..... these tacos have soul. I don't even think about the fact that it's housed adjacent to a gas station. That doesn't matter to me. So long as the kitchen is clean (and it is), I'm good wit it. As a matter of fact, I take away that the food mattered more to this owner than the zip code it was cooked in (shout to subpar, high rent Bakersfield on Woodward).
