    Shrimp ceviche on tostada shell

Dropped by today to check out tacos. Wow! What a hidden gem in Warren and close to Fraser. Check this place out! Food came out hot and seasoned very well. If you love thin homemade/warm Cantina tortilla chips, THIS is the place to go to-(3) levels of salsa spice (green was the best) and a BUFFET too! Carne asada tacos came with cilantro and onions. Shrimp Ceviche was perfectly seasoned with cucumbers/lime and had a delicious crunch on my tostada shell. The owner offers ON-SITE taco grilling for all types of parties and events. This is better than a taco truck! 2 locations to get yummy food!!

We wanted tacos, I'm so glad we found this place. The staff was absolutely amazing, nice and super accommodating. My granddaughter doesn't eat "regular food" so we brought with us store bought mac and cheese, the staff was kind enough to make it for us. She was then upset that the color of that noodles didn't match the photo on the box. (She's 3, she wanted the noodles orange, not yellow lol). They were kind enough to bring her fries with a queso and a ketchup dip on the side. My son had shrimp tacos with flour tortillas, I had 4 tacos with corn tortillas. They were SO GOOD!!! I had four different proteins, they were all tender, flavorful and delicious. Indefinitely found my new taco spot!

Stumbled across El Fogon recently when ordering via door dash. I thought I was ordering from another place, but really glad I came across this place! The birria tacos are delicious and the dipping sauce with it is just as good. They are very filling. The sopes are good but not amazing. I have been spoiled with a local food truck who hand make sopes to order, but these are acceptable. It was piled high with toppings. Of the two shrimp items I ordered, they are generous with the meat. The shrimp is diced which is great so there is an even distribution of shrimp. I enjoyed the guacamole, but it had far too much onion, so it really took away from the rest of it and I did not end up enjoying it as much as I wanted to. As someone who loves onion, I believe guacamole should never have as much onion as they are adding. Overkill. The chips that came along with it were clearly made in store and were great and not overly salty. A variety of textures with these chips. The churros were probably some of the best I've had in this area. You get 3 per order. They are crunchy and caramelized on the outside, and soft and chewy on the inside. It's like biting into a little piece of heaven. I have yet to go into the establishment, but my delivery's have been spot on each time and I would totally recommend checking them out of you're looking for a change in pace with your Mexican cuisine.

Ordered Mexican Burrito - Description says "12" tortilla filled with your choice of meat, grilled veggies, cheese and house special sauce. Served with rice and beans. I expected a burrito with meat, vegetables, cheese and sauce, with rice and beans on the side. However the rice and bean are inside the burrito. Not a major deal for me, however I do try to cut rice out whenever I can, which is why I was looking for the rice on the side. Aside from my mis-interpretation of the description, the food has been very good, fast, well priced and the staff is very friendly.

The staff are all very personable and welcoming. The food is crazy good. I got the chefs table tasting menu and was quite pleasantly surprised. The first course was a Welsh rarebit (which I've never had before but is kind of like a piece of toast). The bread was perfectly toasted, crispy on the outside and soft (almost pudding like) inside. I think it was sourdough. The Mahon cheese melted on it reminded me of a delightful Croque monsieur. The dollops of mustard/lager sauce were sweet and paired nicely with the savory toast and the bitter arugula. The second course was Parisian gnocchi, which I guess means they are made from pate a choux. They were crispy outside and pillowy within, and sat on some perfect snap peas that were fresh and crisp. The peas were held together in a subtle ramp puree. I don't often get to eat fresh peas in season, and I was shocked that they were so tasty and firm. The third course was a lamb shoulder braised in Membrillo ( a quince paste), served in a ssam style with Kim chi and curry rice. This dish was the one that did it for me. The membrillo gave the lamb shoulder an incredibly deep umami flavor, while also imbuing it with a Carmel burnt sweetness. The recipe didn't use doenjang or gochujang or soy sauce, but got to a similar level of umami. Wrapped with some Kim chi, herbs, and the curry bomba rice in lettuce, it made for a rich and complex flavor bomb in each bite. I was also super pleased that it was a very generous portion. You don't always get that in a tasting menu. The final course was a very delicate bread ice cream, which was made with the membrillo and covered with almond cookie and mint oil. The ice cream was so delicate it was at times almost like marshmallow fluff, and the mint oil really contrasted nicely with the bready sweetness of the ice cream.

We decided to do the four course chef's dinner to try a variety of things. There is also an optional wine pairing, which one of our guests at the table did and loved! I opted for take on the gin and tonic, which was smooth and refreshing. First course was a delicious cheesy toast. The bread tasted like it had just been baked that same day. Next step we had the softest gnocchi, with sliced pepperoni. It was such an interesting combination and very delicious. The main course was a very tender lamb and risotto dish. The lamb was very flavorful. We finished things off with a sourdough ice cream that was garnished with a mint syrup. It was unlike anything I had ever tasted before and it was very good. Our waiter frequently checked in on us, and there are two individual restrooms in the restaurant. I had a wonderful time and I would definitely go back!

From the moment we walked through the front door until we left, every single person we encountered made us feel like we were celebrating with family. The hostess welcomed us with anniversary wishes, our server was outstanding, the bus staff wished us well, and everyone in between made the evening feel special. It's rare to find a restaurant where the entire team is so genuinely engaged. The atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. The lighting was warm and inviting, the room had a wonderful energy, and it struck that perfect balance between elegant and comfortable. We noticed several other couples celebrating anniversaries, and before the evening got underway, each one was recognized. It was such a classy touch. The food was terrific. We started with the potato soup, and it was one of the best we've had. I ordered the pork schnitzel, which was excellent, and Nancy's fish entrée was every bit as good. The champagne was generously poured, everything arrived perfectly prepared, and every course reminded us why people rave about this place. The funny thing is, we skipped dessert...and spent the drive home wishing we hadn't! We drove from the other side of town, and I'd make that trip again in a heartbeat. Great food, impeccable service, wonderful ambiance, and an evening we'll remember for a long time. If you're looking for a place to celebrate an anniversary or any special occasion, I can't recommend the Dirty Dog Jazz Café highly enough.
