Dr. Meghna Patel is the kindest dentist in the entire world. She fixed my snagel tooth in a day, after I chipped it. She is amazing and always very helpful. I have high anxiety when visiting the dentist and receiving shots. Dr. Patel talks me through everything and is extremely comforting during the process. I love this dental office!!! I drive from Carson to Fullerton bc I love this office so much. Dr. Sheth is great at what she does and will go to great lengths to make sure that your comfortable. However, one of the staff(Tara) is not that pleasant and a bit moody. My sis asked her for the Wi-Fi code once and she told her that They didn't have one but another patient asked her for it and she gave it to him. I felt that was unfair and not cool on her part but hey what can you say. Overall,this office does take most insurance plans and will help you establish Care Credit if needed. I definitely recommend this office and Dr. Sheth, she's the sweetest so I don't mind the drive bc I know that I will be in good hands. I've been seeing Dr. Shah and his staff since 2009, and have always had good experiences. Both their Newport Beach and Fullerton offices are comfortable, clean, professional, and overall a pleasant atmosphere for dental work (hey the little things count!). They've done great work on my teeth, and have a periodontist that comes into their Fullerton office who I have gotten gum surgery with (two different occasions) and was professional and did an amazing job. I hadn't been to a dentist in quite some time, and so I started having pain in one of my back teeth. I called around different dentist offices for a week to see if anyone can take me after work since I started a new position and couldn't take too much time off of work. This office has great hours for the working person! They took me the same day at 6:00 PM, but since I needed a root canal, I had to come back when the specialist was there. It was the same week too. They were able to give me an invoice of what my insurance was to cover and what I had to pay out of pocket. I used care credit with a breeze. They were very attentive and made me feel safe and comfortable. The office is very clean. Very professional. I recommend to anyone looking to get some dental work done. read more

My "titanium" implant screw broke in half! Once that happens, it can be very, very bad news because then they can't put in a new one. Today, the dental assistant, Jose the Extractor, came to my rescue! He said, "To dig those screws out, it's all about patience." And after 45 minutes, he DID get it out! Great job and great attitude, Jose! And the anesthesiologist was so good too...she explained everything she was doing (never had that before), but most importantly, she numbed me perfectly so I didn't feel anything despite Jose's diggin'! Matter of fact, I think I briefly fell asleep, I was so comfortable! And thank you, Dr. Amit Shah, for backing up your work. I've had a lot of problems with that implant, but you stand behind your work each time. It's appreciated. it's difficult to rave about someone or something that probes and picks your gums and drills into your teeth... lol. But I went about 3 weeks ago and I had a very pleasant experience. I appreciated everything from the professionalism, high end technology, their massage dental chair and in particular the friendly attentive front desk staff. :). I have been a patient of Dr. Shah's since 2006. I will not go anywhere else. I now live in Las Vegas. And travel to California to see him for all my dental needs. He put implants in 2006 and I have been completely satisfied and happy with them. During the procedure he made sure I was pain free. When it was all done I had zero pain and bruising afterwards. When I've had a toothache start over the weekend twice this year, Creative Smiles has seen me first thing Monday mornings. Not just for a quick little procedure, they have told me they will have to stop and see other patients who were already scheduled, then come back to me. The prices are little more but they also have technology that older practices won't have. read more

Not happy. I made arrangements over a month ago with Dr. Shah's office to have my son's wisdom teeth extracted. We wanted to do it in January when he was on break from college, but they are extremely limited in their oral surgery dates. Anyway, when I called earlier this week to confirm and ask for pre-op instructions, the telephone receptionist said "My supervisor will call you right back." She didn't. So I called again the next day and learned that they didn't have him listed for the procedure, but could "squeeze him in." ... But he'd have to go all the way to Fullerton for more x-rays before coming back to Tustin. (The initial office we had visited is in Newport Beach. And "Squeeze him in" for oral surgery!? I don't think so!) Oh yeah. AND in the middle of these calls, another person called my husband to ask HIM when the surgery was and to tell him the bill would be $$$. (The HMO manual showed quite a different number, like hundreds of dollars less.) I believe the $ number they quoted included procedures that had already been done and paid for. Confusion! I cancelled the surgery altogether and changed dentists all in the same day. We feel relieved. My poor son will have to wait awhile longer to get those teeth out. read more

The staff is super pleasant, the waiting room and office is very clean. TV's in all the dentist chairs. Doctor Patel and Shah have soft hands virtually no pain when getting my dental work done. Awful experience. I came in for a check up as I had a new insurance and wanted to use it. Nothing felt weird or bad in my mouth prior to the first visit. They told me I had 6 cavities and they needed to be filled asap. I thought it was strange but decided to do them since my insurance would cover it. I got 3 done that day and 3 done 2 weeks later. A week later I still could not chew on one side on my mouth because the pain was so bad. I called and asked to come in immediately. They took me in the following day and I explained my pain. I told them all the pain occurred after the work they did on me. They said it was "weird" and proceeded to put some numbing cream on the top of my teeth and said i'll be good now. There was such a huge lack of communication and not explaining anything. I still can't chew on that side of my mouth and I regret ever going in to creative smiles. I wish I could give zero stars. Avoid this place if you can. They did thousands of dollars worth of "work" on my teeth and created pain and disability to chew. Awful place and customer service read more

I can't believe this place is even in business! I got to my apt 15 minutes early, and then made me wait 45 minutes before calling me into a room to fill out my medical history on a computer. When I was finally placed in a room the guy who came in to do my X-rays never introduced himself to just came in , put the protective bib on me and started doing them. And HIT ME IN THE FACE several times with the X-ray machine . And if he wouldn't get the proper X-ray or would drop something he would moan & groan the whole time. I get it we all have bad days , but this guy was so miserably unprofessional ! When he finally left I sat there for another 15 minutes and the doctor came in , once again never introduced himself and just said "ok I'll be looking at your teeth now" laid me back and started examining my X-rays not once ever explaining to me what was going on. He finally sat me back up and said "ok you can wait here" after another 20 minutes I got up and left.... after two whole hours of waiting. Tara said she would email me what I needed to get done but in the end I couldn't believe how unprofessional everyone was . No care about the patient and especially a NEW PATIENT. Do not go here ! This was one of the best and least painful dentist experiences I've ever had. (If such a thing can be said for any dentist experience.) It was one of the best because it was the quickest. I went in to have a wisdom tooth that had been causing me pain on and off for about a year pulled out. Had been told a specialist was needed due to its tricky location. With plenty of long, painful dentist experiences in the past, I was nervous as a cat going into it. They used some fancy new x-ray machine that didn't require me to bite down on the stupid bit thing that always painfully digs into my mouth. Local anesthesia was applied (which was a little painful I suppose, but very brief). I started to brace myself for yet another miserable torture experience, but before I could count to 10, the tooth was out and 5 minutes later I'm happily driving home. The whole visit was probably less than 30 minutes. Everyone was really nice too. Highly recommend. I paid 450 in total for the ordeal, not sure what's normal. read more

I love this place, and I wasn't even the one getting work done! My boyfriend needed his wisdom teeth removed and doesn't have dental insurance right now. The pain had become unbearable so we started to search for a dentist. After making and canceling appointments with 2 dentists, being quoted $260 for X-rays, and just an all in all horrible experience we started to plan a trip to Mexico to find an affordable dentist. Luckily my boyfriends mother found Creative Smiles on google by typing "affordable dentist", and I'm so thankful she did! Off the bat, they offered free X-rays and a free consultation, which is awesome considering we had just been quoted $260 for X-rays. Making an appointment was a breeze, they were able to get him in the next day. The receptionists and staff are all so incredibly friendly. After he had been taken back to get his X-rays done, they brought his mother and I back to explain the procedure while constantly reminding us we could ask as many questions as we wanted. This was my boyfriends first time having any kind of surgery done and they did such an excellent job at informing of all the possible risks while being incredibly reassuring and understanding. The dentist was excellent, the staff was phenomenal and the oral surgeon was awesome. I highly recommend this place to anyone that's afraid of the dentist or has ever had a bad experience, they will completely change your opinion on dentists. I called 1800 dentist for a referal for a last minute tooth extraction they got me in immediately. I had a great experience despite the tooth pain. Nice staff, clean office, I didnt have any insurance but was able to set up a monthly payment plan. The dentist was so nice i would highly recomend him to anyone. read more

Dr. Shah's bed side manners are unacceptable. He has an angry tone and seems to be constantly frustrated and angry. When I told him I had pain in a tooth because I could feel the rough edges of the tooth were chipped or broken, he looked and looked and said he couldn't find it, and told me in gruff, angry tone that nothing was wrong. I told him if he can't find the chipped tooth to fix it , then I will go to a dentist that can help me. Suddenly, he brought in another lady dentist and she found it! Also, and worst of all, before this happen, he gave me a referral to go to a specialist to extract a wisdom tooth. The "specialist" turned out to be more like just a simple, tooth extraction "mill." Dr. Shah didn't know the reputation of oral surgeon he recommended. Now, 6 months after the oral specialist Dr. Shah recommended to go to, I need a corrective procedure to try to fix the whole in my mouth. read more

I went to Dr. Shah in 2009, he did some work on me and it was horrible. The two fillings he did on me cracked and I went to another dentist and got them refilled. I was in school at the time to become a DA and seeing how he is so unprofessional is ridiculous. He entered the room and was so extremely rude. Didn't even introduce himself to me. The procedure took forever it felt like, I was there for 2hrs not including the 30min wait in the waiting room. I had a crown done as well, and due to one of his fillings that broke. My bill came out to $1400 I had to pay for two fillings and one crown?!?!? Are you kidding me....... I had payed for more than two crowns once and all I payed was $600. He then tried to tell me that I needed braces due to my teeth being slightly crooked. I have always had people tell me how my teeth are perfectly straight and if I ever had braces when I was younger. He really likes to take you for all your money. I was so upset when I had to pay $1400 and he isn't even a great dentist. I also notice after he did my crown, I was having such a hard time chewing certain items, (meat. bread, tough foods) and I finally went to my dentist now and he say that my crown was too high, and that was the reason I was having such a hard time eating for the past 6 months. I wouldn't recommend anyone to this dentist. He is just a rude doctor and does horrible work. I doubt he went to school in this country. read more

Haha I like how the reviews of this place are so polarized. Ahh, typical Yelp. Anyway, I visited these guys maybe a year or two ago, didn't like my experience, changed dentists and didn't think anything about it later. The reason I'm reviewing NOW is because I still get these newsletters from them and their most recent newsletter prides their dentist in something that wasn't reflected at all in my visit. Allow me to share: "Embarrassed It Has Been So Long? If you're nervous about having to sit through a lecture on the importance of dental health, you can stop worrying. We're not here to cause you anxiety or point fingers. Trust us, we of all people know that dental health is affected by a number of factors that could be environmental, hereditary or habitual. Our goal is to help you achieve a healthy, beautiful smile." In a nutshell, the receptionist and ESPECIALLY the guy in charge of teeth cleaning are top-notch. That guy was personable, down-to-earth, honest, and made me feel comfortable (which I feel is super-important when you're sitting in that chair and your teeth and gums are being prodded). The actual dentist, though? Rude and condescending. Definitely. So, I had cavities. Like, 4... (I know, I know, disgusting... I was really embarrassed when I found out). I was surprised, since I floss every day and brush at least twice. But INSTEAD of walking in the room, greeting me and saying something along the lines of, "You know, it appears that the cavities that you have are in the top back corners of your mouth, and so maybe this could be the result of poor brushing habits. I'd like to show you some techniques to help you and show you a video that might be helpful too," he instead walks into the room and the FIRST thing he says is, "You need to learn how to brush your teeth," in a REALLY condescending tone. Rude. Then he shortly says he was going to make me watch a video on how to brush my teeth. Not like, asking me if I would like to or anything; straight up, We're going to show you this video, then they cut the lights and everyone left the room. I had that "what the heck just happened" feeling. And, let me just say, it was NOT an enlightening video. A basic "this is the way we brush our teeth" video, like the one they showed you in kiddie-school. Whatever, dude. In conclusion, maybe y'all should practice what you preach in your newsletters... I'm sure you didn't spend all that time and money becoming a dentist just to lose customers because you're rude. Maybe you should take notes from your receptionist and the dental hygienist... read more

Terrific dentist & friendly staff. First of all, their office is the most technologically advanced I have seen. They seem to have all the latest equipment. Dr. Shah is honest, straightforward, friendly, courteous, knowledgeable. It's difficult to find an honest dentist nowadays. He seems honest. Another dentist I went to recommended an unnecessary procedure. He was straightforward and honest. Even recommended against a treatment I was willing to pay for because it wasn't necessary. Skill, honesty & integrity are the characteristics I look for most. I think he's got them. There are only a dozen reviews on here, but he has a few thousand patients. read more
