Not bad but for me, the downsides were: * Cheap, hollow building. I think this is just typical of most apartment buildings these days. But for a large portion of the day, expect constant step noises on your floor and above. * A lot of dog noise and not enough proper management from their owners? * Elevators break down almost every month and it's a pretty busy apartment. My husband and I just moved in about a week ago with our two pups. So far it's been really nice! Property is clean, well managed, package room with lockers are secured, the overflow room is a tad on the messy side, but nothing that serious! Just a mere observation. Amenities are modern and clean from what we have observed and the rooftop is very nice on a sunny day. Moving in was smooth! Cortni and Luke at the office are extremely helpful and friendly. Cortni made sure we had everything set up and ready and helped us a lot with the transition. The only thing I will have to point out is it seems a lot of people in our hallway slam their doors. I guess it can't be helped due to the walls may be thin? Just kind of wish the slamming of the doors wasn't so common, especially during the late evening times. Day time I understand people leave for work or go out on the town. Other than that, we hope to be happy here and meet more of our neighbors. :) read more

Lived here in 2020 so my review might be outdated. Apartment was nice, I lived in the unit next to the community room and it was noisy if there was an event. Amenities were included gym, conference room, printers, community room that you can book , and coffee machine. Biggest downside is that my car got broken into while parked in the garage and a lot of my neighbors experienced the same issue. We also had a problem with packages being stolen from the package room. Overall the building was nice but had major downsides. The only reason for any stars is because I loved the floor plan of my apartment and the amount of storage/kitchen space I had. They are money guzzling at this apartment...beware. My rent was raised over $300 after one year of living here. The utility bills will cost you $200+ a month as well. After telling them I couldn't afford to live here a second year after the rent raise, they told me I could move into a smaller unit for a lower price. When they finally sent me the lease for the new place, merely a few days prior to move in, it was $200 more than what they told me face to face in the office. I never received the first rate in writing and they used that to their advantage, saying unless I had it in writing, the new rate was what I'd pay. I know I would never agree to pay $2100 for a 500 sq ft studio apartment. This left me homeless for over a month, being that they waited until the last minute. It was summer time and everyone was moving, so I had a difficult time finding another affordable place. Cortni is rude and unhelpful. She gave me an attitude any time I had a problem or complaint while living here. When I expressed I couldn't afford the new rent she said with a condescending tone, "I get it. Sorry good luck!". My friends' cars got broken into twice while living here - which normally I wouldn't include being we live in a city and shit happens, but the only reason this happened was because the garage door was broken for 6+ months and rather than leaving it closed (there are two so it could have easily been left shut) they left it open. This allowed for a private, covered space to break into the cars in the garage. The only reason their reviews/stars are so high is because they had a "competition" between maintenance men to see who could get the most positive reviews. After fixing something in my apartment, the maintenance men would give a card and ask for a review. This makes it look as if living here was awesome, but the reviews are about maintenance, not the building. Quite a sneaky business tactic, but don't be fooled. You can hear EVERY neighbor around you. And the maintenance team would roll the garbage bins over my apartment at 6:45 am sharp every Wednesday morning. I complained about it for a while, but they refused to change the timing of the carts, which could have been a very simple fix. There are SO many dogs here, so everything smells like pee and there are constantly run ins with unfriendly dogs and lots of barking at all times of night. If your apartment faces the courtyard, it'll smell like pee in the summer and you'll hear all the neighbors' dogs. TLDR: if you want to save your money, don't live here! They'll try to take anything you've got or make it so expensive you have to move out. Cortni, the manager, is rude and unhelpful. The apartments themselves are nice, but it isn't worth the price. read more

Of my 200+ reviews, I'm going to try to make this the most helpful because this is an important decision for you. I don't really care about "you", per se, whoever you are, but I do care about being -- in an abstract way -- of service to everyone, so I'm going to assess this place on four criteria: 1) location, 2) the building itself, 3) service and 4) fellow tenants. 1) LOCATION is the best thing going for this place. Heading West, it's right where Ballard starts to transform from the convenient depravity of Market to the distant serenity of the Locks. Walks to Golden Gardens from this building feel more personal and fulfilling than if I was coming from, say, Cap Hill. For errands, walk two minutes north on 24th and you have all the shops you'll need (supermarket, dry cleaning, budget gym, etc.). For first dates and brunches when parents are in town, head two minutes the other way to Ballard Ave to get laid and to make 'em proud (respectively, of course). 2) BUILDING ITSELF: Amli bills themselves as "luxury," but if this is luxury then my hot-sauce-stained bag of Taco Bell is fine dining. You need to remember that Amli is a chain, so everything feels cost-optimized in terms of quality. While the lounge with a billiards table looks great on the tour, look a little closer and you realize there's no sugar for the free coffee and no way to watch the TV. The rooms themselves don't impress: paint splatter on the floors from a rushed paint job; puke-gray fiberglass closet doors that don't fully close; a bathtub that wasn't installed right so every time you step inside it creaks. It's just... bare minimum. It's a good minimum, for sure, but it's minimum. 3) SERVICE: The leasing office is very nice and efficient with their responses. No complaints there. Not sure what's going on with the cleaning maintenance. The same dog piss stains (read: plural) on the hallway carpet have been there since I moved in -- I guess we're just going to have to live with it? 4) CULTURE is a bummer. I thought when I moved in, there'd be more of a community. Don't expect hellos in the hallways; a lot of people who live here are sad soldiers of the information economy -- work-from-home product managers, Amazon financial analysts, you get the idea. No kids (which is nice), but also too many dogs. Expect most waking hours to have dogs barking nonstop, everywhere, and with annoying dogs come annoying dog owners -- so beware! 2/5 read more

Some of the staff were great, but not enough to redeem the nightmare of moving in. To begin, the key fob for the doors and elevator was broken when we first got it. We were helped by an energetic employee that helped curb our annoyance. However, we should've known seen then, how painful the next couple hours were going to be. The move in times allow for carts and a dedicated elevator for 3 hours. We never got to use the carts, meaning we had to hand carry everything to the elevator and room. The office's reason was because the earlier move-ins never returned their cart. When packing the last couple of items, we were told without warning that our elevator times were being cut short because they overlapped another move in time slot. Why is it when we were inconvenience by other move ins, no one helped!? The second we were to do so, (EVEN DURING OUR ALLOTTED TIME), any form of convenience was ripped away from us! I am not the individual who will be living in the complex, just a helper with moving. Never felt so compelled to write my horror story with a business than I am with this. I'm currently a resident of the AMLI Mark 24 building. I moved in about three months ago and live in a one-bedroom apartment. Overall, I'd definitely recommend the building! The biggest perks of the building are the location, roof deck, and management team. The downtown Ballard location is within walking distance to lots of dining, shopping, grocery stores, gyms, and the farmers' market. I love the proximity to the locks, Golden Gardens, and the biking trails, as well. The roof deck is my favorite amenity. It has a kitchen, grills, games, bathroom, fire pit, WiFi, Adirondacks, and lounge chairs. The view is lovely and the gardens are beautifully maintained. The building's management team is promptly responsive to resident requests. The building has its own maintenance team, instead of bringing in contractors, which is great. They're very friendly and knowledgeable. The only downside to that is that it often takes a while to get an issue resolved and their communication isn't always the best. The units themselves vary dramatically - from size, light, to color scheme so I wouldn't rent sight unseen. The common factor of the units I've looked at is that they all have tons of storage and neutral color schemes. We were looking to upgrade to a unit with more natural light but ended up staying put b/c of the bedroom sizes. Ours accommodates a queen, bedside tables, and a dresser. Some of the other units had master bedrooms that barely accommodate a queen bed, let alone other furniture. The finishes are a mixed bag - great floors, ceiling fans, lighting, backsplashes, but poor quality countertops and cabinets. The building also has electronics recycling, compost, a business center, and a great package delivery room/ system. The gym has spin bikes on a balcony overlooking the water. The management team has also been fantastic about COVID. Masks are mandatory in the building, they capped the common area and elevator capacities, and are sending out frequent reminders to the community to practice safe habits. read more

I loved living at Amli for many of the same reasons others have listed this location cannot be beat! I think the units are well constructed and I really only had noise issues in the last 2 months on time there. I never had issues for the first years and a half yes some dog pee in hallways on occasion but that is an unfortunate issue I've had to contend with in most buildings in Seattle. However in the last year my experiences went drastically downhill with the office staff which is why I had to take away some stars. Firstly I experienced 3 different attempts to steal my motorcycle from their "secure garage." One attempt resulted in major damages that rendered the bike inoperable thankfully the office did find me footage of the first attempt that I was able to send to the police and my insurance. However they refused to provide me any assistance in finding me a better spot in a more secure portion of the garage since they said I was limited to 2 locations even though other bikes were parked in unmarked spots as I pointed out multiple times, the responses went from apathetic to eventually plain rude from the staff surly they were tired of having to deal with me after so much time. The second theft attempt they would not provide me any footage when I requested it saying it was somehow suddenly was now against policy to give me any footage of the theft. I asked but never received a copy of that policy and after numerous times in contact with the office they did not notify the other residents of the break ins in the garage which occur with frequency regardless of the security they say is hired to be on premise which has been noticeably absent as of late. For a luxury building the customer service in the office has gone down hill as well, the office staff is very short and snippy when I would try to get assistance from them and clearly do not want to improve your experience if it causes them any inconvenience. There is also a major lack of consistency in the way each person in the office handles their role you can ask a question and the first person will tell you one answer and then the property manager will contradict the staff. They do not hold to anything their staff has told me in initial conversations and will not do anything to rectify the situation when they do go back on their word. Additionally The building previously allowed you to reserve some of their public spaces if you want for private events or parties which was great given my unit was smaller. However they did nothing to reserve it for you and other residents would walk through or still use those areas you had requested to be reserved during specific times and now the building has recently stated that they will start charging for that as a service which seems ridiculous to me as they still will do nothing to reserve the space for you may as well just stick a makeshift sign up on the door you made yourself may get better results. Covid has also made the buildings amenities useless. No gym, no public areas, at one point they wouldn't even let you use the printers, or use a metal cart for your packages. I did truly enjoy my time here for the most part due to the location but it's not worth the extreme cost for the lack of professionalism or service you receive for something that should be a luxury building and staff. read more

This is my 3rd year living in this building, and it's been everything that I needed! The location is incredible - just a few minutes walk from Ballard Ave and the Locks. The leasing office staff is helpful, work orders are fixed promptly, and the building is generally clean. Their package room is particularly nice - I always feel like my packages are secured in that room. The only bummer is that our unit used to have a view of the water, and now the new building across the street has blocked our view. We tried to negotiate the rent down because of this, but we were unsuccessful. Regardless, the building is still very nice and we love living here! read more

The staff is highly responsive and accommodating, in addition to having wonderful amenities such as the rooftop and gym. Location is also a huge plus. We've lived here for a year and a half, moving to a larger unit on the same floor right before first year lease ended. Our favorite parts about living here are the central location, amenities, LEED silver certified, and the least favorite would be some appliances could be upgraded (dishwasher) and without an AC in the summer, the lack of airflow will be really uncomfortable. LOCATION: Walking distance to QFC, tons of restaurants, Ballard Sunday Farmer's Market, and close to the Locks and Golden Gardens as well. The first year our unit was facing East to 24th, and some people were really loud at night, so with windows open you can hear them. We knew that moving into a building that's central to everything, so it's not a deal breaker, but something to note, and now that we're facing West towards the center of the building, it's mostly just the occasional construction we hear.  AMENITIES: Of all the rooftops on larger apartments we viewed, we really enjoyed this one. It's spacious, two grills, fire pits, lounge chairs, tables, adirondack chairs, perfect for sunny days. There's a room which they call the Lighthouse Sun Room with a tv, shuffleboard, kitchen, chairs and tables that's available for all residents unless reserved for up to 2.5 hours! As previously mentioned, getting an AC is crucial. Luckily Amli rents some during the summer, and those will be hooked to your window. It's pretty large and ugly but it does the job. Love having a washer/dryer in unit, decent sized storage rooms available for an additional price, which we really utilized with all our athletic and car gear. The bike room is really cool with tools to fix your bike, and dedicated spots to lock your bike. 24/7 gym, business room with printers and a conference room that can be reserved for calls, team meetings, etc. On the 2nd floor there's a Galley Clubroom with a coffee bar with Starbucks coffee, booths, pool table, couches, tv, table & chairs. Outside on the 2nd floor there's also a fire pit, and seating areas. We like going there to work remotely, but it's also great to host pizza/game nights with our friends. The only issue I have is being able to control the volume on the tv or hook up your music is not clearly writen out, so outside of office hours, expect to just bring your own speakers and not rely on the tv, which is a bummer since I want to figure out tv show/movie nights. SERVICE: There's a lot of details to review before moving in, so make sure you have everything settled or you they won't be able to give you your keys. I personally had A LOT of questions, but the staff responds really quickly. Cortni is the best! She's always so friendly, professional, and helpful. For packages, you can receive email and text alerts with a photo of the package label, then a code to enter the secured room. Unfortunately the dry wall for hanging things up is kind of crumbly, so we've had to contact Maintenance several times to help out, but Jim is super responsive and helps us out. PETS: Seattle LOVES their dogs, so Amli has a dog poop deck/dog washing room, and it's really cool that so many apts are pet friendly, but OMG please clean up after your dogs! Of course that is more a resident or dog walker issue, and most of the residents are polite and friendly. read more

I'm actually quite surprised at the number of positive reviews here. My experience here was very poor for the following reasons: Good: 1.) Maintenance is awesome and will reply to requests quickly. 2.) The location is great but with some downsides (see #2 below). Bad: 1.) You will absolutely hear your neighbor from above, below, or on either side. You will hear their music, their discussions, their TV, etc. This is a quickly, cheaply made building with little insulation and many people who will mount their TVs and sound systems on the walls and crank them up constantly. Complaining politely to management will likely result in indifference and potentially their warning the neighbor, who will then hate you and be even louder in response. Complaining politely and directly to your neighbor will result in the same. 2.) Think about who would most likely live on Market street in Ballard and why they would live there. It's Ballard - it's full of bars, restaurants, and fun things to do. And those people will like to go to those bars and have friends over and blast loud music regularly and smoke pot and play video games loudly late at night and all that. So expect to share in that experience, like it or not, OFTEN if you live in this building. I know I know: I'm lame and boring and need to sleep to get up for work, but just know that you will be told this is a nice quiet building and it simply is not. 3.) The bike racks are mostly full of old, rusty bikes with deflated tires whose owners probably haven't lived in the building in months or years. All efforts to get management to remove them (by tagging them then sending out a notification to the community - easy) failed. So parking your bike will be a pain, if even possible, and even some garage parking spaces are blocked by bikes that management will not address. 4.) Occasionally homeless people will be found living in the parking garage stair wells. You will call security, who will say they aren't on shift for X hours (they are not there often and don't patrol while there) and will tell you to call the police. Management will remain indifferent. 5.) The nice community rooms will often get trashed and left a complete mess by the people reserving them for parties/celebrations. You will probably find vomit in a sink on occasion, beer cans all over the floor, the outer doors left propped open to the world, etc. Management will remain indifferent. 6.) The trash chutes will be full and unusable within a few days of trash pickup. Every trash room will be stuffed with old mattresses, broken lamps, boxes of junk, bags of garbage, etc. to the point where you will sometimes not be able to open the door. 7.) Someone smashed a bunch of lightbulbs in a stair well once and the broken glass stayed all over the floor for a week before being cleaned up despite complaints. 8.) Gates/doors will regularly be broken and stay unsecure for days at a time. This problem leads to #4 above. The front gate to the patio area will break almost weekly and stay that way for long periods of time. 9.) I was on an upper floor and the elevators were a constant source of annoyance. Outages, issues, loud awful groaning noises from the elevator as it moved... 10.) Move-in was pretty confusing and terrible as no one told me where to find my room or mailbox, how to pay utilities, etc. The only person working was super busy and he couldn't help me much and so I got to figure everything out on my own, which was not fun. 11.) Occasionally dogs will use the bathroom in hallways and it will stink for days and days, or a person will step in dog poop and track it into the hallway. Many many residents have dogs, which is cool, but some of them are not careful or clean. 12.) Some people in my hall way leave their bags of trash outside their door for days at a time (see #6 above) and it smells and management will remain indifferent. 13.) Sometimes a hair dresser will book the main community room for hours and you won't be allowed to use it. Weirdly she will be allowed to run a business out of it and not allow you in (even though she needs one small corner of it and you could easily stay out of her way). Alternately, people will run their personal training business out of the small gym. Weird. You will feel like you're intruding on the facilities you pay to use while other people use them to make money. 14.) There is no loading dock or off-street area for move-in (or move-out too I guess). So if the few spaces near the doors are being used, you're out of luck. Have fun with that! 15.) Management will send you surveys where you'll explain all of your issues in detail and then they will decline to acknowledge or act upon any of your feedback. So yes, what a surprise, a large corporately owned chain (another "Walmart of apartment buildings") where the consumer will be ignored while every possible approach is used to maximize profits. read more

Amazing floor plans. Great, beautiful, clean amenities. Decent, but not amazing, appliances. Awesome location! (well, lots of road construction right now, but that's not their fault.) Really friendly, helpful management staff! Incredible maintenance team! I'm sad to say that what loses this great property stars is the parent management company. Like so many, they are focused on profit and appearance rather than the actual lives of their tenants. If you can have packages delivered to work, do that. They use a Luxor system (which is a lot better than average) but it's still susceptible to theft. Not their fault, just good to know. I'm frustrated by their balcony policy. Everything was fine for months but I was just informed that we have to take everything off for two whole weeks to allow for pressure cleaning. This is really frustrating. We use our balcony to great effect- some as storage but mostly for plants. I am an avid gardener and bringing my plants inside for two weeks just isn't viable, especially with cats. I'll have to find a way to protect the floors, rearrange furniture, keep the cats away and take up already precious floor space. I wish they could coordinate better with their contractor so I would know which days to do this. A day or two would be reasonable. Two whole weeks has me very worried about my plants, my pets and my sanity. That it is space I paid for 52 weeks of and will only get for 50 stings a bit too, but I'm much more worried about inconvenience and mess than the cost. Of course one could just say "well that's your fault for gardening" but we specifically picked this place because of the south facing balcony and favorable policies about planters. It just hurts a bit to have them be so good about it then do such a 180. I definitely don't recommend using the shared bike cage. They have been hit by repeated break-ins and the company claims they hold no liability. I get that this is legally true it just- again - is so frustrating to be a paying customer looking for community and security only to be violated then not have any backup or recourse. We feel helpless. They did upgrade some of the door locks and install additional cameras, but it would be so much more helpful if they could see it in their pocketbook to hire a nighttime security guard for the parking garage. We had the unfortunate experience of having our storage locker, also in the parking garage, get broken into as well. We were one of many. There was minimal camera coverage but even so I got to see someone walking away with one of my personal treasures as well as quite a bit of expensive sporting equipment. What's frustrating about this incident was that we were gone on vacation so I trusted management to deal with the police. That was dealt with less competently and assertively than I consider reasonable. I realize it's not the front office team's fault- They aren't trained for following up on criminal action. That, and they just aren't allowed to spend that kind of time. It seems like they can only do the bare minimum then have to focus on what management requires of them. The office staff wants to help but their hands are tied. Again, helpless and frustrated. Small fish caught in a big greedy stream. The office tries so hard. And it's so tempting to get mad at them but these issues aren't their fault. It's the company policies. It's a MASSIVE company that owns these properties with teams of lawyers. They know exactly what they can and cannot do. You have none of the power and they know it. You pay thousands of dollars a month to be safe and have a home. Over the course of the lease they chip away at your peace. We were so incredibly happy here at first, hoping to live here at least two, if not three-five years. Now I am beyond frustrated and helpless. I would be tempted to break our lease and move immediately if we could, but that is ALSO ironclad and outrageously expensive. Overall I'm sure most apartments with massive companies doing the management are this frustrating. I really wanted to love it here. I still wish I could. I wanted this to be a lovely experience. Again, it's not the office staff's fault. They're just doing what they're allowed to do. I wrote this because I wanted to warn folks of the possible issues you'll run into here. Consider the price and the downsides before thinking you're signing up for a safe, luxurious community residence. This place has the price and look of fancy but none of the follow-through. read more

I asked again for the 5/27 scenario. They said they've said too much to me and they couldn't explain it in the email any more and I have to talk to them f2f. We lived in the Amli Mark 24 Community for over 2 years and it has been good to us! The amenities are excellent: Gym, rooftop deck with view of fisherman terminal, dog wash station, gas fire pits. The location can't be beat: on Market street close to all the delicious restaurants of Ballard and the Majestic Bay Theater. A block away from a QFC. The apartments are clean and well maintained. Special mention to Jim who was always quick to answer all of our maintenance needs! Things get fixed on the day the request is sent. Rent prices are competitive for the neighborhood. This apartment is amazing! I have been living at AMLI Mark 24 for 18 months and I don't plan on leaving anytime soon. As with all apartments there are bound to be some problems but the way AMLI Mark 24 management handles these problems I would consider 5 star service. They are always friendly, always on top of it and always understanding. The maintenance team are also something to rave about. If you have a problem it is sorted out within 24 hours and they are always happy to help. My apartment itself is a great layout and has everything I could need. Albeit it has a high price point but for what you are getting, the amenities, considering it is in the heart of Ballard and you are so looked after, it is hard to complain. One of my favorite parts are the little touches they do to make you feel right at home - from celebrating "National Pi Day" or Valentines Day or the events with neighboring businesses. All in all, AMLI Mark 24 does an great job! read more

Overall very happy with apartment and leasing staff. We are on our second lease. : ) Leasing and Maintenance Pros To start off on a positive note, we have always had extremely pleasant experiences with the leasing staff. Pablo, Alyse, and Cortni are always very accommodating, cordial, and prompt in addressing any matters brought to their attention. They've done a wonderful job in responding to COVID-19 and implementing the appropriate precautions in maximizing people's safety. I have also had nothing but great experiences with the maintenance team. They are also quick to respond and do a fantastic job of maintaining the grounds. They have (especially John) been super helpful in resolving any maintenance issues I've had. Cons Nothing in particular to comment on. --------------------- Location Pros In terms of location, Ballard is in a perfect spot. It offers a taste of urban Seattle with abundant restaurants, bars, gyms, shopping, and several cool tourist attractions while also feeling more suburban than downtown Seattle which can feel a bit more hectic and claustrophobic at times. Simply put, AMLI Mark 24 is close to a lot of urban spots while maintaining a more "suburban" vibe. Parking inside the community is fairly plentiful and accommodating to larger vehicles (I have an F-150 SuperCrew truck and it fits fairly well). For extra security, there are two gates to get into the residential parking. Cons: Ballard is an expensive area to live in by default. AMLI Mark 24 is no different. Can't really complain here since you kind have to expect this kind of rent when living next to the coast. That being said, AMLI Mark 24 was definitely more reasonably priced than other communities in the area when my wife and I were first looking to move to Ballard. in my view, Ballard's proximity to everything is worth the price of admission. --------------------- Amenities Pros AMLI offers an impressive suite of amenities. My particular favorite is the large gym which fields a large variety of equipment. Small side note: it even has a rowing machine. As a former college rower, this is awesome. : ) There is also a pretty nice conference room with enough space to accommodate probably 6-8 people. Aside from that, the top floor Sky Bridge affords an awesome view of the Ballard Harbor and is perfect for hosting parties which my wife and I have used on a number of occasions (prior to COVID : ) ) Cons While the amenities are impressive and very well maintained, some of them come at a cost...literally. When we first moved in, all of the amenities (i.e. Galley Room/Sky Bridge) were free to reserve. However, recently the leasing office began charge per hour to use these amenities. --------------------- Apartments Pros While I can only primarily speak to my own apartment (1 bedroom x 1 bath), the conversations that I've had with other residents have all shared a positive view of their respective living quarters. I'm very satisfied with the apartment layout. The wall configuration is maximized for space and the living room/kitchen area has an open concept vibe to it. The large window in the living room lets in more enough light to fill my apartment. On the other hand, the included window shade does more than an adequate job of blocking out the light when desired. My wife and I have more than enough closet space to put of all belongings in. The included washer and dryer are also nice inclusions. Cons While I am overall satisfied with my apartment, I have one main complaint: my apartment feels like a furnace in the summer. As a native of the California desert, I have a pretty high threshold for heat. Accordingly, coming from California, I admittedly also have a sweet tooth for A/C (something which a lot of Seattle apartments lack). If you chose not to opt to have the portable AC installed that AMLI offers (highly recommended), it feels like you walk into a fireball every time you walk into the apartment. I just signed a lease and am so excited to live at Mark 24. Obviously, I haven't lived there yet and will update this if it doesn't live up to my expectations, but i'm not expecting that to happen. I just wanted to leave a review because I had the best experience with Cortni! I had to sign a lease without visiting the building in person so I was really nervous, but Cortni answer my 1,000,000,000 questions without making me feel like a verified lunatic. She sent me photos of several different layouts and even did a Facetime walking tour of a handful of units. The day before choosing a unit, I called in a panic and she did a last minute tour for me at the end of the day so I could make a decision. DO NOT RENT AT THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!! [resident 2018+2019] The hallway, lobby, and apartment has very bad and strange smell. (the lobby smell is really disgusting, some mix of strange odor and perfume) Gym is ill-equipped. Dog poops everywhere(bad even by Seattle standards). Staff either incompetent or rude. I had an incident where some stranger keeps peeking into my apartment , they told me that outside area was not covered by CCTV due to their lack of funding, and did not intend to install one after i expressed my concerns. The rent is relatively lower than other places but in hindsight, it's totally not worth it. After my lease ended and i paid an unreasonable amount (had to move states so i broke lease, which i paid $6000 to break, my monthly rent is $1800 and that's how much i need to pay to break lease! They re-rented my apartment within weeks so this is completely a sleazy move on their end). That's not the end of story, a month late they send me additional bills of hundreds of dollars for some BS charge (i already paid cleaning fees etc). read more

I've lived at this apartment complex for about 3 years and overall have been happy with the community. There have been several improvements that I've appreciated including new outdoor furnishings, well kept gardens and flower pots, one of the best apartment gyms I've ever seen, and lots of opportunities to connect with fellow residents through events. But more importantly, I have to mention how the office staff have gone above and beyond to make me feel cared about. Receiving support and sympathy in times of loss as well as helping me out when I was recovering after a surgery really showed how seriously the staff take making residents feel valued. A recent example (and special thank you) to Courtni from the leasing office for delivering packages to my door when I was unable to easily get around. It's little things like this that make every difference when knowing you can count on your neighbors and office staff to be there for you. read more

This apartment complex is so much more than that. It truly feels like a community! From the people who live here(minus a few impossible humans) to the management and leading staff, to the maintenance team and even the vendors who service the building, they are all there for you with whatever request needed. It truly feels like a family. To everyone complaining about little things, have you ever lived in an apartment, in a city before? All this is normal and the staff sets expectations and is there to help you through it. However, reading your lease and understanding it is your job so try that before you knock this amazing property and the staff. I've lived at AMLI Mark24 since last March and resigned my lease this spring. This building is great! I love the community spaces (although I don't use them too much) but the best part is the actual units themselves. A lot of thought was given to storage in these apartments, which is so crucial. I have a pantry in the kitchen, a hall closet, and a linen closet in the bathroom, which is pretty exceptional. (Not to mention the giant walk-in closet in my bedroom!) I love whatever type of floors they have installed, the countertops, and the backsplash in the kitchen. The place just plain feels nice! Best of all, the construction was clearly done with an eye toward noise insulation; I've had near-zero noise issues, which is so hard to come by in an apartment. One note: if you face 56th St., you will see/hear a lot of ambulances and fire trucks, which pretty frequently respond to what I assume are health issues with the old folks at Merril Gardens Ballard, but it's really not too terrible since the windows provide good noise isolation. Facing 56th is also great because your apartment won't get too hot! I rarely had my unit reach higher than ~75 degrees last summer. My favorite thing -- the package room. It is so nice to not have to worry about package theft and to be able to access packages at any time of the day or night. I've also been really impressed with the community events they've thrown recently. We're doing a rooftop yoga class next week, and they gave away free succulents last month! My one complaint would be that we've had pretty frequent issues with the elevators on one side of the building -- I think they've been out of service (usually for a day a time) around 6-7 times since I've moved in. Management is usually quick to send out an email about the issue and share an update on when it'll be fixed, but it does get a little annoying, especially when you live on the 7th floor! We haven't had this problem in a few months now, so fingers crossed. Overall, I've been really happy with my decision to live here. The location is unbeatable (all the magic of Old Ballard is just a short walk away, and we're right on top of key transit lines to downtown). Highly recommend it! read more

This is basically the best of everything in Ballard. Great staff, superb location, and killer amenities (can you say rooftop parties?). I lived her for a little over a year, and the AMLI team always delivered a 5 star customer experience. All of the units (I've lived in a 1br and a studio) are bright with good finishes, and never had to worry about security. You can walk to the grocery, bars, restaurants, shopping, buses, parks, and even launch your kayak from the boat launch a block away! The team at AMLI really made moving to Seattle a breeze, and I always had piece of mind knowing I could reach out anytime I needed something. Highly recommended A+++ Experience. I thoroughly enjoyed living at the Amli Mark 24. It features most everything you could want in a Seattle Apartment building. You can easily walk into the heart of Ballard to dine, shop, etc. If you need to commute the bus stop is literally half a block away and takes around 30 mins to reach downtown. In addition QFC is a block away for all your grocery needs. Really the convenience of here cannot be understated. In addition the building provides a ton of amenities. There's a dog washing station which is perfect for rinsing off your pup after muddy Seattle walk and they also provide a community office where you can work from home. In addition I highly recommend the in house gym with attached workout studio and rooftop deck. It's really a great place to live. read more

I don't usually write reviews on Yelp, however, I would like to make the exception for AMLI Mark 24. After reviewing these reviews, I agree with Kelly K.'s post the most. Been here for almost a year now. It was the perfect location, amenities, etc. when I moved it. Still is, however the cleanliness of the apartment complex itself is troublesome. I find myself gagging every time I have to walk into the garbage area because it's either packed with recycle and old trash bags because the garbage is filled up. Or when it's not packed with recycling and garbage you can see the stains all over the floor from spilled liquids or God knows what. Also, the fact that there has been two pee stains (from what I assume is dog pee) in the back entrance stairwell for months now is pretty gross and unsettling (still has yet to be picked up). I called about this, but nothing was done. It shouldn't be the tenants responsibility to notify the staff of this issue. For months there was blood stains on the door that leads to the back of the apartment and just recently got cleaned. Security is another complaint I have. There have been multiple break-ins since living here for the past year. Bikes have been stolen, cars have been broken into. I per de have not be victim to this, however, I ensure you that I wouldn't feel comfortable with my car in the parking garage. A while back some suspicious kids were in the elevator after the apartment complex was closed which is extremely unsettling. Once my lease is up I will not be renting from AMLI apartments as I do not feel I am being fulfilled for what I am paying for. read more

I've been living, at AMLI Mark24, for a little over a year. Anytime I've put in a work request their maintenance team has been amazing! Work is done in a timely manner, and they are always respectful of being in the residence. Just recently the ac unit I was renting wasn't working properly. Unfortunately, at this time all ac units have been rented out. In an effort to rectify the issue, one of the Service Managers currently living there offered to give up theirs. I was shocked and so grateful that someone would do that. Their team has truly gone above and beyond! read more

We didn't rent an apartment at Mark 24, so perhaps take this review with a grain of salt. But I was very impressed by the efforts of Pablo as we were considering Mark 24. Amidst a global pandemic, Pablo very kindly gave us an impromptu FaceTime tour of the building and of a few different units. He also followed up a day or two later to check in because a new unit came available that he thought we'd be interested in. Sure, you could say he was "just doing his job." I didn't rent from them but I was impressed by the efforts of their leasing managers. They only lost to where I live now because the feel seemed to be the college graduate type and it wasn't ready when I toured it. I think it going to be known as the new ballard home for college grads. Even when I walk by their property, I always remember them as the one that almost got me and it's with a smile. read more

I am a month or so in and here is my opinion so far... Pros: - Good floor plans - Tall Doors / Ceilings - Nice floors (carpet only in bedroom) - Good kitchen appliances, washer/dryer - Best fitness center in an apartment complex that I have seen - Offers Condo Internet (best in the city) - Near all the best Ballard Locations - Can talk to management about getting a temporary parking pass for friends - Two rooms to have groups over, deposit only, no stupid fees - Near a good number of bus lines (40 to get to Amazon Campus) - A nice amount of storage space available - An event or so every week typically offering free food from or at some nearby establishment - Room to wash your pet Cons: - Rent is a little on the high side (comparable to downtown Seattle) - People in the leasing office give tours often on the weekend so it can be difficult to pickup packages - Picks up street noise, generally not an issue but the north side of building has construction during the week right now - If neighbors are loud and having a party you are going to hear a lot of it, there are supposed quiet hours but I have not seen it enforced yet (only happened once or twice so it just might not have gotten caught) - You can buzz people in at the front but will still have to go let them in as there are multiple places that require someone to badge you in Hopes: - With the new introduction of food waste laws I hope to see some compost bins in the trash rooms - They replaced the pet area recently with a fake grass mat, hopefully they add some rocks and such in to make it more interesting and actually encourages more use. Not an issue for living here but for a LEED certified building I would expect building management to be more mindful of leaving the televisions in the hallway or common rooms on and leaving the empty apartment's lights on. Seems like an easy thing to fix. I can't tell if I am genuinely enjoying the building or if Ballard is just awesome. I will give 4 stars for right now. read more

I was looking for an apartment in many different neighborhoods as my current apartment is increasing the rent for a small studio. After researching many different options, I was really impressed with AMLI Mark 24 and decided to choose AMLI Mark 24 as my next apartment. They offer comparable prices and in fact, I was able to get more storage with AMLI compared to my current apartment. Not to mention the apartments at AMLI are much nicer and offer much more air flow which was a major concern. In addition, the staff (i.e. Abbey) has been very helpful so far, offered many different layouts within my price range, great move-in specials, and they have been very flexible with my move-in date without charging a high holding fee compared to the other apartments. Lastly, the location is great as it is located near many popular areas in Ballard. My current location in Belltown is filled with a lot of homeless people and high crime rates but so far every time I'm in Ballard - I feel safe. Overall, I've never been so excited to move into a complex and cannot wait until I am finally all moved in! read more

We looked at a couple of apartments in Ballard and were really impressed by AMLI. The price was the highest among them, but it's definitely worth this money when it comes to the apartment's quality, floor plans, design, fitness room (the best!), business center with conference room, and two little parks - at the second floor and on the roof - with amazing views of Queen Ann, Magnolia and a channel! The staff is very friendly and willing to help, and AMLI tries very hard to establish a community - so far we had Halloween Party, Thanksgiving and Thursty Thursday almost every week. Location is one of the major criteria we rely on. Plenty of buses - 3 to downtown (with two expresses), 1 to Queen Ann and one to University District. Now we drive car only on the weekend. You can walk to plenty of restaurants, bars, shops (including QFC one block away) and even movie theater. Did I say that Ballard Market is few blocks away, as well as Olympic Athletic club is 10 minutes walking? Ah, the library is also two blocks away. And Starbucks :) So we truly enjoy living here, thank you, AMLI, for providing such a great experience! read more

I've lived here for just over a year. I can say that the points about the noise on 56th, the cleanliness (or lack of it) in the trash rooms), the parking garage break-ins, stolen bikes, etc. are all true. But I'm sure the same could be said of other complexes. So, I figure that's all a given. Also, the units that face the construction are cheaper than the units facing Market. It's all about location, location, location! Other points: - Noise: I think it takes a lot (or bionic hearing) to hear the upstairs, downstairs and side neighbors. But if it really gets bad after quiet hours, after hours security and AMLI management are quite responsive. One night I swear my downstairs neighbor was having a major party and I felt like the music would bump me out of bed. Since complaining about it to AMLI management, I've never had the issue again. - Resident Portal: As Crystal C had mentioned, the old portal allowed fellow residents to connect with each other. When it switched over and became a portal just to pay your rent and request maintenance, I was really sad. There was good information being posted in the old portal. I do hope Corporate brings it back. - Maintenance: Major props to the maintenance team. Whenever we have had an issue with something, a member of the maintenance team was quick to respond and fix our issue QUICK. - Package Room: Despite it being broken into, I like having it. It's really convenient to be able to get your package when you want. I used to work odd hours, so sometimes I was never able to go to the leasing office to pick up my stuff. - Parking Garage: I pay $135 to park my car in there (non-reserved spot). There were some issues before with lack of parking spaces, but management freed up some reserved spaces and made them non-reserved spaces. I do wish residents had the courtesy of parking their Carollas and Minis in the Compact spots, though. Spaces are tight, but what can you expect living in the city? The renewal rate wasn't bad, but unfortunately we have to move because we just can't continue to afford living in Ballard. If you can throw down $2k for a not quite a "real" one-bedroom apartment (the wall in our unit doesn't touch the ceiling), then I'd totally recommend living at AMLI Mark 24. It's the first place we've lived in Seattle, and my experience has been great overall. It's a great place to live, especially if you don't have a car. Shops and entertainment are within walking distance. Even if you do need to go outside of Ballard, there are several bus lines nearby that will take you into Downtown and beyond. Updating as we got our lease renewal a few weeks ago. I do really like that you get it so far in advance so you can plan if need be. However, we didn't need to as our increase was so minimal it would make no sense to even entertain the idea of moving. Looking forward to another year, but there are some gripes that have come up over the past 10 months. Resident events have gone WAY down. Almost non existent. Maybe it's because of the winter season, but I'd think that's when you'd want to get people together. Now it's usually just pizza and beer in the lobby for an hour. The online portal is now useless as well. We used to have a main board so people could post things they were selling, events, the occasional criticism or complaint. Now there's no way to interact with any of our neighbors and it's actually one of the things that bugs me the most (even though it has nothing to do with the quality of our apartment). The elevators are dreadfully slow a lot of the time, and if someone is moving in/out, you better enjoy waiting an hour for the other elevator, or walking up the stairs. We still street park and don't have an issue, the construction across the street will be over relatively soon (can't come soon enough), and even though others have mentioned it, we have NEVER heard anyone in the apartments next to us. We hear the people above us stomping around, but that's it. For the price we pay and the amenities the building has, there's no way we could find the same thing in the same neighborhood without coughing up a lot of extra money. I still think it's well worth it, and am happy we are able to stay another year. read more

A place to call home...Amli Mark24 has it all! Friendly, helpful and well informed staff. That truly smile without much effort. Their maintenance team is expedient, effective and timely. Each one of my requests has been completely fulfilled in 24 hours or less. The community is conveniently located on market street and it is chockfull of nice amenities and services. Best place I've rented. Apartments are upscale and feel that way. I lived in another "upscale" building in Ballard for roughly the same rent and it didn't have same feel. Awesome amenities - rooftop deck with grills and view of Salmon Bay, exercise room has stationary bikes on balcony and room with self-guided exercise videos, etc. Staff are great and every maintenance request I've made has gotten done same day. They got the apartment ready quicker for us too because we needed it early. Highly recommend. Only downside is break-ins to secured garage. This is happening at several Ballard garages (my last apartment building too) which is crazy to me. But AMLI does good job of informing everyone and also captures images of suspects and shares with community. read more
