I've lived here for 3 years. It has definitely gotten worse as time went on: Increasing parking prices despite having extra spots. Suddenly enforcing parking lot rules and giving tickets to my dog sitter after 2 years of no problems, and then making us get a new pass for them every 5 days when they're not available before or after working hours. Have a problem with that? They're not in control of it, they outsource parking enforcement. Except I pay you to live here, and you have a deal with the parking enforcement. This is ultimately still your problem, Amli. Asking us if we want to renew a month before our lease is over but requiring 60 days notice to not renew (thanks for that, amli!) Everything is dirt cheap. The dishwasher was screwed into particle board and when it fell off they just used longer screws. All of the fanciness is just a veneer. Despite having been looked at 3 times the stovetop fan doesn't have any suction. They removed all of the garbage cans after they were overflowing from around the entire building, leading to more garbage everywhere. The callbox has been inconsistent since we moved in and has only gotten worse. The calls don't go through, or the callbox won't respond to presses, etc. They enter your apartment without permission for maintenance reasons. Seriously, I had to explain to the previous manager how illegal that was. The entire building is a Sauna. It gets extremely hot, I haven't turned on my heat since the first year I lived here. They rent out ACs which is nice, but the air pressure is higher in the apartments so opening a window doesn't help much. The mail was very consistent at first but now it's a nightmare. Getting time sensitive deliveries? How about medication that's on ice? Food deliveries? They're constantly not routed through the mail system and if you don't get a code you can't go into the mailroom. Go to work before 9 and get home after 5? Don't rely on being able to get your packages. They decided to install a second level of security after the outer doors where you would need a key to get in. So no more deliveries, or letting people in through the callbox, and occasionally just getting stuck because the stupid elevator key doesn't work. When I confronted them I was told "It was to increase safety". It took them 2 weeks before they finally put a timer to let people up. Management is so out of touch it can be frustrating talking with them. On the plus side, the apartment layout is fantastic. The internet options are great, and the location is pretty good. read more

We've lived at Amli Mark24 for almost two years and have loved it. The property is excellent, and more importantly, the service has been exceptional. Specifically, Ingrid in the office is a customer experience master who has gone out of her way to make us feel at home. The maintenance team are all very friendly and professional, and more recently since joining the team, Cortni has been fantastic. Resident focused initiatives such as a Christmas present wrapping station have been very thoughtful perks to living here. I highly recommend living here, and sad that we have to leave due to relocation. read more

Even though I lived for a very short time at AMLI Mark 24, I truly had a good experience. The best part of the experience is the excellent customer service. Pablo was my main point of contact from the beginning. He answered all my questions via email & phone. I was relocating from TX to Seattle for work and didn't have luxury of time to check out apartments. I've heard good review from friends & colleagues about AMLI apartments so, I decided to go with them. AMLI apartments are also conscious of environment. I like their green initiative.so, Pablo has helped find an apartment within my budget & leasing process was very easy. When I moved in to the apartment, it was nice but I had issue with the bedroom. My furniture wouldn't fit. So, I reached out to Pablo and asked if it was possible to switch to a different apartment that would fit my furniture. Pablo worked with his manager to discuss my concern. It was a fast turn around & my request was approved. They were highly accommodating in meeting my needs. Pablo should be few different lay out & I found an apartment with a bedroom that was big enough for my furniture. Pablo, Cortni, & Anna have all been amazing. They've been so helpful & caring. After a short stay, I had to relocate back to TX and they helped make the transfer process easier to another AMLI location. I definitely miss my AMLI Mark 24 family. AMLI Mark 24 location is convenient. Easily accessible via buses. Grocery stores are nearby. Farmers market on a Sunday. Thank you AMLI Mark 24 team for making my stay memorable. read more

I was one of the first tenants to move in when Amli Mark 24 opened. I loved it then - beautiful floor plan, TONS of storage, great amenities, secure building, always clean. Now, almost a year later, my opinion couldn't be more different. I still love the apartments themselves. But one of the biggest things that has declined since I first moved in is cleanliness. It is not uncommon to find puddles of urine in the elevators, and in one of the stairwells, there are at least 2 huge stains where animals have urinated. Also, I don't know how often the stairwells are cleaned at all - there were leaves, wrappers, and dirt on the floor for MONTHS. On the third floor where I live, there is often a smell of marijuana in the hallway. I know it's legal now, but it's supposed to be a non-smoking building! There have also been several break-ins in the parking garage. Although I don't park my car there, it raises serious questions about the security of the building. Another security concern is that the office sometimes close early with almost no warning, and I have seen packages sitting outside the locked door where anyone could pick them up. That definitely does not make me feel secure. If I'm paying $1685 for an apartment, I want it to be somewhere I feel proud to bring guests home to - not somewhere I have to be worried that when the elevator doors open there will be a puddle of urine inside. I want to live somewhere safe, clean, and presentable. I feel that I have not gotten my money's worth at this apartment, and once my lease is up, I will not be renting with Amli again. read more

We moved into AMLI in April 2015. The building is very new so it has very nice, modern features and for the most part the building was clean and tidy. We love the gym here and our apartment, which is on the 4th floor. The apartment itself has a great floor plan. (Just under 800 square feet). $1850 for a one bed, plus $100 a month for parking and then trash disposal costs, water and electric on top of that means we pay around $2100 a month. Almost a year in and we will not be renewing with AMLI for several reasons: Price being the first- it's simply just too much money for what it is. As above $2100 a month for a one bedroom apartment overlooking a building site and this apartment is not only noisy from the outside, but also from the inside...... Noise: not only is the construction over the street (we face onto the back street of NW 56th Street) so noisy and non-stop from 7am up until 4pm every single week day, but you can hear every thing your upstairs and downstairs neighbors do....and I mean, everything! Going to the bathroom included!!! And when people walk along the upstairs corridors it sounds like a heard of elephants. The sound proofing seems cheap and ineffective. The construction had just started when we viewed the apartment and we were told it would be completed in a matter of months, almost a year in though and I am still abruptly woken at 6.50am every morning by extremely loud trucks pulling up and reversing continuously (you know the beeping noise) and the repetitive sound of banging, drilling, trucks, workers turning up and people shouting and all the other undesirable noises from a construction site ALL day long!!! It's unbearable actually. Don't expect to enjoy your balcony or have your windows open during these times and there is no A/C. My husband and I work odd hours sometimes so we are not in the 9-5 routine. We have to sleep with earplugs in every single night or day if we need to nap before work. We have to go to the local coffee shops to hang out and work during the day sometimes because it's too noisy. Safety- since we have been here, numerous (and I mean numerous) bikes in the parking garage have been stolen, pretty much on a monthly basis. I should tell you that the bikes now have cages around them with locks and the thieves are now using bolt cutters to access them. My husband and I wanted to buy bikes to enjoy the local trails on, but decided against it because we would have no safe place to store them. Except on our balcony. Which wasn't exactly the point of having a balcony, although with the construction, it's spoiled being able to sit out there and relax anyway. Ridiculous when you pay $2100 a month to live somewhere. Our neighbors car has been broken into in the parking garage, the package delivery room has been broken into over Christmas time and even chairs in the communal areas have been stolen. I notice that there a some people (not all) who will just let anyone into the building. Oh you're stood outside waiting with no keys, here, let me allow you to gain access. It's the same story when some people drive into the parking garage. Also, If you need the parking garage then I hope you drive a mini!!! There are hardly any cameras in the building. Amli has recently just had a meeting with a new security team so hopefully things will improve, but for us it's taken almost a year of goods being stolen before anyone took action to do anything about it. There has been a homeless camp established near the building recently so there are a few new characters hanging around outside AMLi. This doesn't bother me too much as everyone has to live somewhere and most people seem pretty friendly, but I have seen a couple of people from the camp drinking outside and shouting off at each other more than once outside AMLI, which can be very intimidating. Cleanliness- dog pee everywhere! Down the hallways, in the elevators. It smells so bad sometimes in the stairwells of dog pee. So gross! The trash room on this floor is not much better. People will literally move in or out and dump all of their unwanted belongings or boxes in there so you can not access the room to throw your simple trash bag out. So good points: The AMLI rooftop is very pretty and fun to socialize on, the rooftop has BBQs and a fire pit and the lighthouse has shuffle board, tv, fireplace and a kitchen so is fun to use in a group, as is the galley on floor 2. The AMLI staff try and put on social events every month and are usually pretty helpful and friendly. The gym is really pretty good for a building like this. Golden gardens is near by. QFC is close. Restaurants and bars are all walkable. The people (the other tenants) at AMLi have been fun to hang out with, but it's pretty hit and miss. Some people say hi, but many others chose not to. Most of the age group is mixed here though so it's quite a good mix of people. read more

where do i even begin? first off, what a perfect location to live. literally walking distance from everything you may want or need. also, how cool is it that in ballard there is a higher per capita of dogs than babies? i was between a few different places and what put me over the edge for amli were the staff and a few in particular. Pablo was beyond amazing, going above and beyond what was called of him. i was moving from a different state, many states over, and there issues of approving documents for lease agreements, and he was able to schedule cross-state confirmation meetings between different managers of different amli's with one right next to where i lived. talk about premium level customer service. his level of professionalism was one i havent seen before and it was truly a refreshing experience. he then even gave a list of places to definitely check out and recommended others spots based on what i told him i was geared towards. i think what gives amli the 5 star rating is not just that there's a cool roof with multiple bbq's and a fire pit and multiple gathering spots that you can rent for free, nor the poop deck for your dog, nor even the dog wash station that's huge, NOR even the proximity to everything you need, but the incredible hospitality of the staff as evidenced by those such as Pablo. if you need a spot in seattle, if you need a spot in ballard - you found it in amli mark 24. read more

Me and my family have been a resident of AMLI for 6 yrs. and in Ballard for nearly 2.5 yrs . We have liked the facilities and amenities it has to offer. The maintenance here is so good. All you have to do is put a request online and ur problem is solved! They promptly do that without you worrying abt it. The management team, maintenance ppl are very friendly. We like the secured package room, it's very convenient, if you are out of station n will not be able to pick up your stuff. The rent rates are pretty much good too depending on location and inside amenities it has to offer. They have a good size well furnished hall which you can reserve free of cost for small gatherings and celebrations . We would definitely recommend AMLI to our other friends and families. The staff at AMLI Mark 24 is fantastic. Cortni really helped me out when I was moving in, Leigh Ann helped me when I was touring the place, and Pablo was so nice answering my questions. It really does make a difference when you have friendly staff that is so helpful. The apartment is nice with great features. I love all the storage space! The countertops, tiles, backsplash, and floor are all modern. I'm also SUPER sensitive to noise and I don't hear my neighbors! I only have two complaints. One is that the washer and dryer are stacked, but they're not the most updated. When I run the washer, it sounds like it is going to explode because it is SO loud when it is spinning, and it constantly shakes (all my stuff on top of the dryer gets dropped on the floor). Sometimes I have to stop it when it's spinning because I seriously think it will crash or explode in my apartment (even though it won't). Not sure if the apartment below can hear it running but I'm sure they can with that amount of noise. The other complaint I have is that my bathroom smells like cigarettes a little bit, and I think the previous tenant smoked. Jim, the maintenance guy, is awesome and he's so responsive. He has tried cleaning, repainting, and more to get rid of the smell, but it just won't go away. I think what it needs is an ozone machine, which AMLI doesn't have. I feel like putting in more requests is pointless to get rid of the smell because nothing is working and I feel bad making Jim try more things. He's seriously so nice and will work on figuring out a solution to any problems you have! There are two community rooms, one on the second floor and one on the rooftop that are free to rent. I would suggest that they open these two rooms up earlier in the morning so that the early birds can get coffee before 8am. The gym is really nice as well and is open 24/7. The staff holds community events in these rooms, like yoga on the rooftop, summer BBQ parties, football watch parties, etc. for free which are really nice!! The package room is great and allows residents to pick up their packages easily without the staff being there or during office hours. There is also a trash room with recycling on every floor and compost bins on the first floor in the garage. Overall, I would say this place is great to live in! Very pet friendly too! read more

It looks nice, but this building is horrible. They like to falsely accuse people of violating their lease. Then they are incapable of listening to reason. That is on top of the ineptness of their staff and inability to fix anything on time. The door to my hallway was broken for almost a week. We had to use a large rock to keep the door accessible. This wasn't the first time that door broke too! Consistently is the right word to use here. And it always takes days to fix. The railings are constantly broken with no signs of them actually making any effort to fix them. The paint is so thin that the chain for the blinds causes the paint to come off just by using them. My towel rack fell off the wall while I was taking my towel off it in my first couple weeks of living there. Dogs pee constantly in the hallways and it doesn't get cleaned by maintenance for weeks. Do I need to go on? Oh yeah, I do. When the bank didn't transfer our money on time, Amli decided to make our lives harder and made it so we had to pay with cashiers checks. All this dysfunction and its nearly $2k a month. One would think with all that money we're shelling out for this place that professionalism would be a given. Sadly, it is not and Amli is by far the worst building I've lived in for the decade I've been in Seattle. Run, don't walk, far away from these guys. read more

We've lived here for about six months and absolutely love it! Our apartment is fantastic - we love the appliances and the walk-in closet! The staff is incredibly friendly and respond quickly to questions and requests. We have had zero problems since moving in. The location couldn't be more perfect and the amenities (roof deck, gym, package room, etc.) really seal the deal. Ingrid has been exceptional since day one. Moving into the city was a big change for our family but she made us feel so comfortable. She really took the anxiety out of the whole process. We lived at Mark24 for one year (we're heartbroken to leave!) and every time I needed something, I was always SO grateful to interact with Ingred. She left me feeling so positive after every interaction. I have done a lot of apt searching I'm my life, and I wish everyone was like Ingrid! Unfortunately, she is a rare find. In fact, no one I've dealt with has topped her customer service. Mark24 did a great job hiring her and they are very lucky to have her. I've been living at the Amli Mark 24 for a couple months now and can honestly say it's probably the nicest place I've ever lived.The building itself is amazing. Feels brand new (I think it opened a couple years ago), has a nice modern design, and comes with stellar amenities: rooftop lounge, gym, common area/lounge for working. The Amli staff (Cortni, Broderick, and Ingrid) are awesome, always incredibly helpful, friendly, and quick to respond to questions and requests. They made moving in a breeze. Apartments are beautiful, have nice wooden floors, and a selection of layouts to choose from. Apartment experience will vary, but I love the layout and design of mine. I've read some of the negative reviews on Yelp and think they are pretty exaggerated, or issues (like garage break-ins) that are happening across Seattle and not specific to this building. The only gripe others have mentioned that I agree with is that the walls do indeed seem fairly thin. Otherwise I can't think of anything about the building I'd complain about. The building is in the best part of Ballard and is incredibly convenient for public transportation and a 2 minute walk from tons of restaurants, bars, a theater, and a farmers market on Sundays. Love it here and hope to stay as long as I can! read more

I've lived in 4 different places in Seattle and this was definitely my favorite. I am super weird about noise and overall appearance of where I live and this place delivers. The lobby and common areas are always nice and clean. The noise between neighbors has been non-existent. I have never heard either neighbor. I have a large patio that faces the lumber yard and it feels like the perfect location. Quiet, private and right next to the gym and lobby. There is also a TON of storage in my 650 sq ft apartment. I had empty cabinets there was so much room. My bedroom has a walk-in closet! The staff is super nice and friendly. They will jump to help with any questions and are seriously so pleasant and nice. It's a LEED building so my bills have been way low. My dog loves it here, too. The neighborhood is great to walk in, no city streets if you don't want. Location is unreal. Walking distance to all the good stuff in Ballard. I really can't say enough about this place. I will really miss moving here but if I ever come back to Seattle I will for sure be back. read more

I've been a resident at AMLI in Ballard for 2 years. The facilities and amenities are exceptional. The only discomfort I've experience is during the summer months because the units dont have AC (a problem throughout Seattle). I am especially impressed with Ingrid. She is so energetic, friendly and customer service oriented. She listens with empathy, recommends solutions and follows up accordingly. I think she could run this city let alone this complex. So hope they appreciate you Ingrid!! read more

My expectation of this place was high given the rent and the appeal of the place when I moved in. Now I heartily disagree with earlier me. There is often pet urine in the elevators, in the halls, and basically any common space. The management says they have a cleaning program but there has been a pet urine stain in the back stair hallways since I moved in a year ago. There is no alert on fire alarm tests. Yes they will alert you that they will inspect sprinklers and alarms but no alert to fire alarm tests. There is almost no understanding to people who work the night shift. Most of anything that has to do with looking inside the apartments take place between 9am and 4pm (don't expect to get more than that about when they plan to enter your apartment) and maintenance doesn't seem to understand the yeled phrase of "ONE MINUTE!" but that's fine. I didn't need to have buttoned pants for strangers to come in my apartment, right? Or hell one time even actual pants! I guess one minute means something different to the entirely ENGLISH speaking staff they have. They will warn about not letting strangers in, doesn't really stop them though when the front doors take almost a minute to lock. All in all this complex is a great ideal, hence the second star. But the aggressive gentrification mixed with not really planning the building makes it not that great a place to live. Due to being dog, I'm sorry pet, friendly and urine stains as well as animal excrement in the halls and that they promise security but half the times the security protected doors don't actually lock or protect it's the faux promise. At the end of the day this building is following the ideal that Ballard can be Manhattan. Regardless of what they choose to respond with. Depending on office workers, even if you are sure you have 3 packages they will only give you 2. Common areas are not cleaned as often as they like to protest they do. The main lobby will often be littered with people who don't actually lived in the building but snuck in behind people. Pet urine stains on every floor and often pet urine in the elevators. Passive aggressive emails about things that are managements fault and not your fault. All in all if you're willing to pay condo prices for crap you could get in a regular apartment its a great place. If not there are better over priced places in the ballard area. read more

This is a great apartment building to live in, staff is incredibly friendly all around. They know you by name here and treat you like friends. Maintenance is incredibly fast, helpful and friendly. Any issues that I have had have been promptly resolved. Rent is a little expensive here but I have enjoyed my time here and plan on renewing my lease here for at least a little while longer.
