Pizza is a very big description for so many types of pie. My hubby is a huge fan of the Sicilian style with the thick crust and rectangle shape. I traditionally prefer New York style bendable crust but hell when done right all pizza can be delicious. I cannot stop thinking about how delightfully airy yet flavorful the crust on the Sicilian pizza was. I do recommend a trip here if you prefer the thick crust pizza. This pizza shop opened up and we resisted for awhile. We live about 5 or so minutes away and my wife convinced me to try it out tonight. Now I know why I've fought her tooth and nail to go. 1. The WORST chicken/bacon/ranch pizza I've ever tasted. The chicken was chicken breast grilled on a flat top and cut up into large chunks. some of the chicken pieces had black char on them. Some were full of gristle. Most were cut way too big. Oh, and $21 for a large? No thanks. 2. The pepperoni pizza was decent, but very greasy and the crust was a little too think for our liking. Most, if not all pizza places we frequent, have excellent CBR pizzas, and use chopped up chicken cheesesteak meat and it's phenomenal. This fell flat. This is a family-owned pizza joint in the Arcona community. The restaurant is new and clean, with limited seating. Everyone we encounter is always friendly. We order our pepperoni pizza slightly burnt and it's delicious with the perfect amount of "flop". The parmesan garlic wings are super crispy and so good. I was really hoping this place was going to be great since it's so close to my house; however, it underwhelmed. I ordered a pizza with garlic, spinach, and tomatoes. There was so much garlic that it was inedible. I pulled off almost an entire bulb of chopped garlic (roughly chopped). I could eat the pizza because there was just too much garlic, even after what I was able to pull off. I decided to try it again and thought it might have been a one-time thing. I was walking up to the door about 20 minutes before they closed to grab a quick sub. Someone was sweeping the floor inside, saw me approaching and then quickly locked the door, and turned off their "open" sign. I checked their hours, and they were still open. The sauce was sweet, which I like and tasted fresh. The Stromboli was the Buffalo chicken, and was very good with real chicken (it was flavorful but not super spicy). Our favorite local place for good friendly service. Their pizza is uniquely different in that it is not supper saucy or cheesy but just right. The pizza crust is good and it never goes to waste as I eat it all. Sandwiches are not overly big or small but always freshly made. We ordered deivery based on the good reviews here and have rarely been more disappointed than we were this evening. The pepperoni pizza was fine but nothing to write home about. We asked if the chicken fingers and fries could be upgraded to loaded fries because the description in the menu sounded delicious. With much reluctance the woman answering the phone told us it could be done for a $3.50 up charge on the $10.50 meal. apparently 4 bits of bacon and perhaps 2 tablespoons of cheese on about 1 1/2 cups of fries Is the owner's definition of "loaded" because when we called to suggest that there might have been a mistake because these were hardly loaded fries we were rather rudely told that if we had spent the money for an order of loaded fries we would have gotten fries that were loaded and that we got what $3.50 bought our cheap selves. It should go without saying but I'll say it anyway ... we shall never brighten their doorway again. read more
