There have been thefts on multiple vehicles with break-in on cars, all 4-tires got stripped off overnight, stolen vehicles.....and NO surveillance camera in any of the parking lot except for supposedly some cameras by the trash bins and the main building ??? Management is NOT doing anything about installing surveillance cameras to protect their residents! It seems they don't care about the safety of their residences since the request for surveillance cameras to be installed throughout the complex have been requested for the past several years. The only thing that keep people from moving out is because the rent is affordable to the elderly and there's no where else that they can move to in the Bay area.

Food is very good and you are allowed more if you want. Kitchen staff are VERY kind and in between meals, happy to serve you "goodies" The dining room is large and accomodates a large number of people. Do you prefer to cook your own meals? There is a kitchen with an oven and burners as well as sink and a refrigerator. There are also plenty of cabinets to store clean dishes and glasses. Would you prefer a microwave? There is plenty of room for one too! There is also a dining or living room, opposite the kitchen to sit, watch TV, listen to music, or simply read. Each building consists of a top and bottom floor. Bottom floor people have fenced - in yards to tend to flowers and while the top floor people can enjoy balconies to look out of at the greenery. There is also an elevator in most buildings as well as a"bridge" that attaches one building to another as well as stairs for us who pefer THEM to an elevator. Want to walk? Start at one end, go down to the dog park then come on back. The dog park is a lovely FENCED- IN place to allow dogs to play. Yes! Dogs are allowed - medium size dogs and even cats. The landscaping Is GORGEOUS and the maintenance men make sure lawns are watered, and bushes and trees are maintained.. Flowers to smell and bushes and trees to look at. There are also benches to sit on which to read or just rest, and the walkways - that go all the way to and from the Dog park, are cement so you do not get dust or on rainy days mud on your feet. A cleaning girl cleans your room (rooms) each week - vaccums carpets and scrubs sinks and tubs. So nice to have a clean place to live in! They play BINGO, here, and if Bingo is not for you - there are other games to play as well. There are times for people to have a "Social day" where they sit, have snacks and meet new people. They also have exercise machines to get you in shape! I HAVE lived other place but NONE are as wonderful as this! OH and it is less expensive than others, and the management is always available to help in any way needed! Lastly there are locked gates to keep people IN and others out. There is also a manager on the place 24/7 NOT just 5 stars but AT LEAST 6!

Everyone was very caring. I like this place! Other residents are also wonderful and respectful!read more

The caretakers were conscientious and caring, the food was much better than his prior facility, his room was light, airy, and clean, and the MedTechs were really on top of things. It is a larger facility with two stories and the pricing is tiered based on the occupants needs and is inline with prices for similar facilities in the Bay Area. Residents have private rooms with bathrooms and a small kitchenette. Overall it is a nice facility. However it felt more like a hotel, residents had their doors shut and which is great for seniors who are independent. It did not seem like a place where my grandmother who was going to require hospice level care would get the personalized care we wanted for her. I also felt like the tour was very sales pitch oriented. For us while it was a lovely facility it wasn't the right fit.

The balconies are spacious. It's very reasonably priced for 3 meals a day plus one housekeeping per week. But the bad is pretty bad - back three years ago when it was managed by a different company, it was much better. It has deteriorated rapidly under new management: 1) Food low quality - the first meal I had three years ago was pork chops with sauce, vegetable, and a potato. The last meal had recently was white rice with a few thin pieces of chicken in a curry sauce. 2) Activity directors are always quitting, so activities inconsistent or nonexistent. 3) Residents are there who shouldn't be: their dementia is too advanced and they wander about asking where their room is. Other residents help them find it. This isn't a safe situation - the sales staff moves people in, but there are residents who should be in assisted living or memory care and are living in unsafe situations. 4) Housekeeping is often understaffed, so the weekly clean up gets stretched. 5) Very limited storage in units and in kitchens.

I've spent time at Belmont Village Sunnyvale through a professional partnership. I've come to understand this community's standard of care through working alongside them. What stands out most is the team. There's a calmness and presence in how they carry themselves. The staff who know their residents, take the time to connect, and genuinely care in a way that's not forced. You feel it in the small, everyday moments. From a working relationship standpoint, they are organized, communicative, and reliable. And just as important, they don't shy away from challenges. When something doesn't go as planned, they address it directly and work through it thoughtfully with a level of maturity that reinforces trust and respect. At the end of the day, you're not just choosing a place, you're choosing people. And this is a team you can trust to show up, do the right thing, and care in a way that truly matters.

They have been responsive to her needs and she feels welcome and engaged. I have confidence that the staff is well managed. I felt like she was not safe at the previous place due to lack of consistent supervision for all the residents.- not just my mom. I didn't want to risk my mom's already fragile state, waiting for them to fix the problems and lack of good staffing. We found Sunnyside Gardens through my mom's hospice provider (and hospice should know - they have to visit all their patients in memory care or skilled-nursing facilities). Sunnyside is not flashy -- it's the PEOPLE that make it beyond amazing. I have never found my mother (or any other resident) alone or unsupervised at Sunnyside. The staff is super friendly, and they all jump in to help each other with the residents. They are completely informative and prompt whenever there may be an issue with my mom's health - and they also tell hospice, so I don't have to do anything. I have never been kept in the loop like this - it's really caring and compassionate. I love my mom's room - it's got its own sliding glass door (alarmed) so I can take my mom outside in a gated patio/garden area. The laundry and cleaning schedules are clearly posted in her bathroom, and I've never seen my mom's room look dirty or messy. It could be that they keep it clean since she is never really in her room except to sleep! She is kept with her friends (other residents) in the activity area, eating in the dining area, or on trips with the staff. She had no issues fitting in and becoming part of the Sunnyside Gardens family. I have said it many times in the months my mom has been there - the staff is amazing - every single one of them, from the executive director to the facilities manager, from the memory care director to the caregivers.

From the compassionate and attentive staff to the warm and welcoming environment, this facility truly felt like home for him. The caregivers went above and beyond to ensure his comfort, well-being, and dignity. They treated him like family, always engaging with him and making sure his needs were met. The medical team was knowledgeable and proactive, providing excellent communication and peace of mind. I want to especially mention Yazmin, Rajinder, Ed, Brisa and Karen. But all staff were great. I had several interactions with the cleaning and kitchen teams. They were highly professional and supportive. They were great at letting me know what was going on with my dad and making sure he was taken by ambulance to the hospital when necessary. They also provided a lot of valuable advice to me on his care/doctors including recommending a hospice provider when that time came. The driver, Ed, even visited my dad at the hospital several times while he was there. The facility itself is beautifully maintained, clean, and inviting. Each room has a private bathroom and patio. The meals were nutritious and delicious, and there were always engaging activities to keep residents active and social. The staff does their best to get residents to participate. It was comforting to know that my dad was in such good hands, surrounded by people who genuinely cared for him. I am forever grateful for the kindness and dedication of everyone at Sunnyside Gardens. If you are looking for a place where your loved one will receive the best possible care, this is it. I wholeheartedly recommend them without hesitation!

It was incredibly difficult to tell my dad that I could no longer manage his growing caregiving needs, but Merife and Michelle made the transition easier by assisting me when I shared the news at his home, where he had lived for 60 years. Our first lunch at Villa Fontana was nothing short of serendipitous--my dad was reunited with a former co-worker he hadn't seen in decades! The meal was so delicious that he kept saying "oishi" (Japanese for "delicious"). It truly felt like a home-cooked meal, starting with a cream of potato soup, followed by a bountiful salad with hardboiled eggs, olives, and more. The main course featured chicken parmesan, spaghetti, perfectly prepared vegetables, and a berry pie à la mode for dessert. My dad's room is bright and cheerful, overlooking a gorgeous courtyard. It was recently remodeled with new carpet and granite countertops, making it feel fresh and inviting. To help ease his transition, Merife arranged 24/7 caregiving services from Harmony for the first three days--an unexpected but deeply appreciated gesture. Each caregiver was kind, attentive, and communicative with me, which made all the difference. Just 3 days after moving in, my dad had a small accident during the night, falling on the bathroom floor. Thankfully, he wasn't harmed, and the staff immediately provided me with pictures to reassure me that he was okay. Their attentiveness and quick response gave me so much peace of mind. Perhaps the biggest change has been in my dad's daily routine. Before moving in, he spent his days watching TV from morning until night. Now, he participates in group morning exercises, and when I asked what he liked the most about Villa Fontana, he replied, Bingo! He also loves that he can enjoy ice cream every day--a small but meaningful joy. The entire staff at Villa Fontana has been incredibly friendly and kind. In addition to Merife and Michelle, I want to give a special shoutout to Jefferson, who always greets me at the front desk with a smile, as well as Allyssa, Maryann (the activity director), Maryann (the med tech), Manny, Marycris, and Roselily. I know I'm still learning everyone's names, so my apologies if I've left anyone out! Villa Fontana has truly exceeded my expectations, and I'm so grateful my dad is in such a caring and supportive environment. If you're looking for an assisted living facility where your loved one will feel at home, I highly recommend Villa Fontana.
