This is my second time using Ampol. The two guys that helped me were so efficient, fast, and just chill. I really liked how they handled everything, even wrapping some of the furniture. I purchased a sofa that they picked up for me on the way to my new place, and they really made an effort to get it up to my apartment (including trying to take it up 4 flights of stairs),we ended up having to return it because it was too large for the elevator or to take upstairs. Even then I wasn't stressed, I actually felt worse about all the effort they were putting in to get the sofa up to my unit. All in all, I cannot recommend them enough, they are efficient, affordable, friendly, and just good at what they do. read more

The best money spent moving! This was my first time using a moving company locally. I was moving from a storage space into a new apartment and it was the best decision I made. The two guys that did my move were on time, kind, efficient and very helpful. They got my move done in 2.75 hrs which initially took me a full day to do when I put my stuff in the unit. They were very careful with all of my items from the very large pieces to the smallest bag I had. Not to mention they put my bed together for me so that I wouldn't have to struggle to do it my self. A friend of mine recommended these guys and what can I say, I have used them twice now. Both times, they were on time, efficient, professional, extremely careful with my furniture and with the building I was moving out and into. For me the care for hallways and elevators was important - I had to put deposits down in case there was any damage to shared areas. There was none, my deposits were all refunded. In my second move, they knew I was placing quality furniture pieces into a storage unit. They covered the storage unit floor with one of their moving blankets before placing my mattress and box spirngs on it. They also shrink wrapped my mattress and box springs. Each piece of furniture was wrapped to withstand time in storage. They are simply the best. They will be moving me out of storage in the not to distant future. read more

I was very impressed with these guys. They showed up on time with the promised number of guys, a clean truck, the right equipment, and were ready to get to work. After a quick walk through the house to talk them through the move details, they jumped in and got to work and got the truck loaded in a hurry. We were watching the weather, hoping to avoid the rain, so this was a big relief. On the move-in end there were a lot of stairs and some tight stairways and corners. These guys got the truck unloaded in short order, and did a great job navigating things into the right places, with no damage to the furniture or the home. As serendipity would have it, I was heading to our new place in Lockport and I saw am Ampol truck on the road. We hadn't as yet contacted a moving firm for our impending move from Forest Park to Lockport, so I took a photo of the truck with my phone. We have an oversized couch to be moved to the basement, I almost want to give up as it doesn't fit the door, they used different strategies to meet my request. I hired Ampol Moving to move our belongings from a large house in Glenview to a small house in Mount Prospect. I also had them move several boxes and pieces of furniture from the garage in Mount Prospect into the house. They arrived on time and did a great job. I was told I'd have 2 men, but they sent 3 - and I wasn't charged extra for the 3rd man. Move was kind of pricey, but that's just the nature of the beast. I've yet to hear of a moving company that provides good service that isn't pricey. In hindsight I should have asked them to move more of our things. I foolishly moved a lot of items myself both before and after Ampol moved us. Yes, it saved me money but all the time and effort I spent made it not worth it. My biggest piece of advice to anyone moving is "pay the movers to move everything; it's well worth it". read more

These guys are the best!! I was in desperate need of a last minute mover (pro tip: if your new roommate says they'll take care of the movers, make sure to confirm that he did so!). I requested a quote through Yelp on the day after Thanksgiving and Marcin got back to me right away. I confirmed on the phone with Milos later that afternoon for three days later, all on the day after a holiday. I had everything confirmed with them before some of the other companies I'd sent a quote request to even got back to me. I was given a three hour window, depending on the morning move, but Adam and Peter M. got there within the first half-hour of the window. I didn't have a lot of stuff, but they were careful, friendly, and efficient. No deposit required and you can pay by check or credit card after everything is completed. They just charge by the hour (after the first two hours, the rest are prorated if it's not a full hour). The price was exactly as quoted. Note that there is a credit card fee of 2.5%, but I know that's only because the credit card place charges them that amount. You can pay by check instead and that fee won't be included. Great guys, great service! I can't recommend them highly enough (and this is my first review, only done because of how great they were!)!! read more

I got a handful of quotes to help us move from a townhome to single family home. Ampol was the lowest and had great reviews on yelp. So glad I went with them. The guys were unbelievable, moving extremely heavy furniture like nothing. They got it done so quickly. At the end of the move, they said it took less time than they thought and actually charged me less than what they quoted me at. How many movers would actually do that? Plus, the furniture was wrapped and protected. Basically, there were no damages except for one piece that had a few nicks in it (it was cheap desk that we weren't sure would survive a move anyway). They came right on time, worked fast and were extremely competent. I was missing screws and things for a few things that needed to be put together, like my bed and the mirror for my dresser. I had some lousy movers from California to Illinois that didn't save these things. But the Ampol guys managed to get it all done! They were great. These guys are great! I had to move from a 6F condo in Mundelein down to a smaller 2BR Apt in Arlington Heights. Since everything didn't fit I also had to rent storage. They packed everything in their truck and met me at the apt. Since there were stairs they had to carry everything up by hand and they did that all without complaining! After that we went to the storage and unloaded the rest of the stuff. They gave me the invoice based on the lowest rates in Chicago and it came right in line with what I expected. Many movers in my past tacked on all these extra charges but these guys didn't do anything like that! read more

Hired Ampol to do a move for us in Arlington Heights because someone recommended. I've used 2 Guys Moving Co. in the past and should have just called them again! The 3 guys that came out today were initially friendly and seemed to be doing the job. I had concerns when the time was going way over by a couple of hours. I only say this because the same amount of stuff took another company 45 minutes to load and Ampol took well over 3 hours. Didn't say anything to Mark who was quite friendly and just figured the 2nd part of the move would go smoother. They took so much time loading that we had to move items that we were paying them to move, not because we wanted to but because we were asked to!!! Asked by the moving company to help move some stuff to make things go faster?!?!?! Unfortunately the 2nd part of the move took close to 5 hours and at this point we were frustrated and decided to call and express our concern with the time it was taking. Spoke to someone from the office and vented a bit and they seemed apologetic. Thought that this would be the end of it but this is where it gets to be ridiculous. As one of the movers is bringing something into our new house he walks into my room and confronts me in front of my 2 young children( ages 4 and 8) about calling management and complaining. This person was so unprofessional and began to raise his voice and argue with me. I have never experienced someone so unprofessional, especially in my own home. All I can say is there are many EXPERIENCED moving companies out there and this is one I would NOT recommend. P.S Make sure you have cash ready cause if you try paying with a debit card they say they have to charge you an additional 2.5%. Also be ready to move as well, even though your'e gonna pay well over a $1,000 you will be asked to help out!!!! Also have a tip ready cause they mention tips quite a bit. So all in all they came in at 9:45 a.m and ended around 5:30 p.m. Local move Arlington Heights to Arlington Heights. Smoked about a pack of cigs each. Had to go get gas during move. Took 8 hours to move combined 1 truck load that took another company around 5 hours. Ended up paying $1,000.00 and an additional $120 in tip. Yes I know Im a fool for tipping! Just be very careful with these guys if you decide to give them a try! But for me Ive learned my lesson and I would never recommend this company to anyone I know!! Response to Marcin- Sir you have no idea what happened yesterday. If you think its ok for an employee to confront a customer and verbally assault them in their home you are out of line just as your employee was yesterday. Why dont you ask Mark about how he asked for a nice tip because he was working so hard! As far as smoking goes Im sure your aware of every smoke break( youre a joke). As far as the time it took you even apologized for them taking so long. I didnt ask for anything yesterday when I called to complain, I even took care of your employees with a tip. As for lunch your crazy, we gave your guys $30 extra bucks for lunch and they took multiple breaks. Long hallways, your funny! 80% full on first pick up your funny! half full we checked together. You think I would pay a moving company and then volunteer to help move? Your employee asked us to help load and move things multiple times. Also as the owner of the company to mention Im having personal problems( a seperation from my husband) on an open forum is very unprofessional sir. Bottom line is I called you yesterday as a customer just to say that I thought the move was taking longer then expected. Miko and his team were really great - I drastically underestimated how much stuff we had to move and despite bringing a smaller than needed truck (MY FAULT!) , they did two full truck loads with no complaints and really fast!- treated our most massive furniture pieces with the same care as the lightest ones. Rafal, Adam and Chris made a very stressful day much less stressful! I was moving from a mid-rise building with long hallways and a freight elevator from the 1920s. I had anticipated that it was going to be a long move having to deal with the aforementioned items. I had these 3 guys and it still took about 4 hours to get out of there! I remembered that it took a long time to move in that place as well so this was not unexpected at all. It only took about 2 hours to move everything into the second floor place that I was moving into and that included stairs. Everything was handled swiftly and carefully for the six hours they were present. They were very professional and helpful. They even helped put together my bed that I had taken apart before they arrived as the day was so long, and I needed a little extra help :) I would highly recommend Ampol as they are quick, professional and reasonably priced as well! read more

Very professional men who have the best prices- only $65/h. We've never hired a moving company because of costs, but this time because of our heavy furniture and bad backs we decided to get help. AMPOL Movers are local in the northwest suburbs, so that was a plus. They responded to our e-mail promptly with an estimate. AMPOL Movers were very prompt, we made an appointment at 9:30 am and they were at our door at 9:30. They used stretch foil to protect our furniture, and packed our LCD TV with a padded cover. They were very professional and careful with our belongings. They worked fast, and it only took two and half hours to move our furniture (living room, dining, bedroom, and office) from one place to another. We were very pleased that they charged us only for two and half hours not for three. Five stars for AMPOL Movers and thank you for helping us with our move!
