One thing…read moreI note is that some Amtrak trains like Coast starlight which goes all the way to Seattle (Doesn't stop here it'll just pass through). However as this is the closest station I aim to either go here or to Los Angeles. Usually I get a ride or uber or take access services home. However I tried to catch the bus from here and I think they're all Glendale beeline operated now. This has its ups and downs, like one it's cleaner and more frequent, and the other is getting here past 8pm or late night and there's no service, same for any time on holidays or late night weekends. If you need to take the bus home later than 6pm, I suggest you go through Burbank as metro always operates. The ambience is clean sometimes it may be a little loud especially w the trains coming but it's safer than having to be at Los Angeles at midnight. If I could change one thing about this station I'd say have buses run laters like the Metrolink and Amtrak trains do. Even have a line run a holiday schedule so those who need the bus don't gotta walk a few blocks to catch the metro (if it even runs where you need to go). My opinion is it is cleaner but transit equity is limited here it's needs more access to public transit.

The train passed through it, sometimes stopped here and the beautiful architecture in Mission Revival-style got my attention. Some trains don't stop here, so check their schedules. It is a great option if you live in the Valley. They have a free, big parking lot, machines work ok, restrooms are clean enough, they could have more people working here, but that's something I could say about most of them. Nice seating area, outdoor stop, very pretty, typical old LA amazing buildings. Some scenes for movies were shot here, which isn't surprising. Great option for catching the train!

The Los Angeles Philharmonic Assoc (LAPhil) operates the HB venue. I didn't know some events are sponsored by the LAPhil, others are rented out to outside agencies and have different methods to purchase concert and transportation tickets. I tried to get a transportation ticket for Arcadia Park, but it was not on the list. I called the Box Office and was told Arcadia and Rowland Heights are only available for LAPhil events. I am writing this review so others who live in the Eastern part of LA County will know Pasadena is the best option (when Arcadia or Rowland Heights is not available). The cost was $12.45 for a round-way ticket and includes the price of parking at the Pasadena structure. You must park on Level 3 or 4, walk down to Ramona Street and the HB bus will be waiting at the time designated on your ticket (4:30, 5:30 or 6PM). The bus was clean, it took about 45 minutes to arrive. The bus dropped us off in Lot B, and will take you back to Pasadena 20 minutes after the show ends. It was a good experience, the price was a good deal! NOTE: You can take a chance and buy a ticket the day of the event at the bus stop, but if it is full, you will have to drive all the way to the HB. Save yourself a headache and buy in advance! Sincerely, Rosemary

Update... the bus broke down to the bowl , luckily we were on Cahuenga and walked down the block and trudged up the hill. We had a woman on the bus who was blind , hopefully they made arrangements for her to walk the 1/4 mile or so. Now my sister tells me last time the bus stopped 3 times due to issues but made it to the Bowl. Well I still enjoyed the ride.

They have benches, double-sided single platforms and kiosk for reloading as well as purchasing Metro TAP cards and tapping before you board (no need to for after). Additionally the outer part of Highland Park Station has some plants, trees and more seating, making it feel like apart of the neighborhood. It's true that if completely on feet it's a tiny bit of a stroll to the main street or the nearest connecting busses such as the LADOT Dash, 182, and others, but still not bad at all! I love popping over to Delicias Bakery & Some on Figueroa Street, venturing over to York BLVD for Wolfies, The Hermosillo, other Highland Park gems and exploring the area. The stop is on the Gold line, the station is outdoors, pretty nice, better seating situation. Your regular LA subway just with automated machines, no one that works here to help or security. At the same time, it was calm while I was waiting for the train, just a few regular folks waiting as well. You can take the train to downtown/ East LA or Pasadena. The signs are always a bit confusing for people, I was trying to orient myself when another person came to me to ask for help. Decent station, I didn't wait for too long, didn't see a parking lot around (since I don't live the area I don't know the sitch), nice views while waiting.

Sorry but there are little to no inter transit bus connections to other agencies. This is a very fast bus because the frequency is very good. This bus can be very crammed at times but luckily because frequency is good there are other buses of the same route nearby. You don't have to work yourself up if one vehicle is crowded. If you are a tourist this is your bus to go to different points of interests all the way the way to Santa Monica beach. They no longer have the 920 because it is long gone. It is gone due to low ridership. I would ride this bus again is possible even with the cramming.

The Rapid 720 is the east-west artery that gets me from my residence near Beverly and Wilshire to most spots, especially Union Station downtown (via a connection at either the Wilshire/Western or Wilshire/Vermont Metro stations). There are lots of homeless and weirdos on this particular line, but you will get the hang of it once you ride it regularly. Until the Wilshire/Rodeo station opens in 2025, this is the best we've got. If anyone makes you uncomfortable, sit as close to the front of the bus and the driver as possible. The bus drivers are told to allow/ignore fare evaders, which I think is a foolish policy, but there's nothing I can do about that. The Rapid 920 was a super-limited service which they have since discontinued and are unlikely to resume given that they're building new stations as far west as the VA anyway. Download the Metro app if you haven't already. That allows you to know exactly when a bus is coming. Hey, it's not perfect, but it works.

You can take your time and explore each one and make a day of it. Or, get on and get going to where you need to go. The trip to the Farmer's Market is particularly nice, as you can avoid the parking hassles. Rapid Buses are usually newer and are the "articulated" or "bendy" buses, so they accommodate many more passengers. Cleanliness levels vary, as do characters you might come across while on board. But, hey, it's public transit in a big city, you gotta roll with it. A book and/or iPod helps to make the time move along. Fare is $1.25 each way, or you can get a Day Pass for $5, which entitles you to unlimited travel on bus & rail.
