Indoor/Outdoor setting that we chose to try since it is attached to the hotel. Service wasn't too bad once we ordered our items but I will say the price was kinda high for the level of food provided. We won't come back to the restaurant as there are better places around.

Service is great. Good and drinks are amazing too. Was here for a conference and the food and drinks were so good the first night, I ate here again.

I had a late meal at the hotel restaurant and I had a nice dining experience. I sat at the bar in the patio section which was nice with fresh air and they have a nice outdoor fire pit. I ordered the salmon which was very good. The service was friendly and accommodating with Nick and Zack. I would recommend this restaurant if you need to stay in the hotel.

I was in town just for a night and found Amuse to be just a typical hotel restaurant. It's really more for hotel guests who dont want to venture far outside after checking ib or a long day out (which was the case for me after walking long hours during the day time that day). The menu contains very basic items like salad, sandwiches..although I was hoping for something more complex, satisfying that can't usually/easily be cooked at home. I settled on a bowl, where you get to pick a grain and a type of meat. I found the bowl to be just ok. The lime that came with the dish wasn't quite fresh and seemed a lil dry. Service was polite and ok. They did try to check up on me. The food wasn't that memorable..and frankly if there's a place nearby elsewhere within a short walking distance, I would have preferred going there instead. The setting of this place was pretty much a bar with few tables around...so it wasn't as conducive for sitting and fully relaxing eating your dinner. Overall, just ok for hotel food. If you have a car or feel like walking to a mall close by though..I think those places may offer better alternatives/prices/ values for your meal.

Such a lovely lounge at the low level of the Marriot Hotel! I went last night to pick up a friend that was a way too long conversation with a colleague and needed some respite. It took me a while to find parking on the street (parking is $4/hour and I asked if they validate and looks like only for salsa dancers. Oh well. That is the only reason I give 3 stars, and also because we only had drinks and no food, so cannot comment on that yet. The menu looks very good, though, and I wonder about the name 'amuse', somehow it reminds me the 'amuse-bouche' (appetizer in French). Don't know if they were thinking about this fun French expression, but I am sure it perfectly matches with what you get there at this perfect hidden oasis. Prices look normal, so I will be back for the food.

Came in to hear the live music and have dinner. The waiter ignored me for a few minutes, but it was Valentines Day so I figured he's stressed, no worries. After a while though I asked if it was open seating and he said "pretty much". Um okay. So far not exactly what I'd expect from the Marriott La Jolla, but alright Couldn't decide what to order the first time the waiter asked what I'd like, so I apologized and ordered a water. I guess that was the end for him. He never came back and after about 15 minutes I moved closer to the music because at this point that was the only thing keeping me there. I really did want one of their craft cocktails though so I went to ask him first (didn't want to step on toes). I said, "so should I just order from the bar?", he gave me a cold, "yes". A very shitty and weak cocktail with a rotten lime for garnish. Worst $16 "craft cocktail" ever!!! You know, I know this place is expensive and I came here prepared to spend 25+ on dinner plus drinks. The only good thing was the music. The service and my drink sucked. When will Yelp enable a negative star system???

Xocoveza by Stone - Absolutely Delicious and Potent - 8.6% ABV Imperial Stout

In my heart of hearts, I'd rather go out from the hotel for dinner if I'm in another city. I was recently on a long golf weekend and the Marriott La Jolla was a logical choice for the first night based on its proximity to Torrey Pines. After a day of golf, the convenience of a reasonably nice restaurant within minutes of your room was a major plus. My experience was based on eating and drinking at the bar. There are also bistro tables in the hotel lobby and a nice looking outdoor area (pictures are on Yelp). We were both ready for a drink. I was happy with their beer selection and had a couple of offerings from Stone - their IPA, which oddly I'd never had, and the Xocoveza. There was also the Bartender's drink of the day, which turned out to be Tequila Sunrise. Overall a nice full bar with nice bartenders. Went with the Burger, which was on a nice bun with fixin's plus the opportunity to add two additional items, plus you can add more. My burger was a Cheddar, Bacon and Avocado (they also had fried onions, mushrooms, other cheese and a fried egg that could be added) - I ordered Sweet Potato Fries which were no additional charge. The burger nailed my number one rule of good burgers and sandwiches: Have more bun on the bottom. And, it was a nice brioche bun. I typically don't order dessert, but hey, Golf Vacay. The Tiramisu was pretty underwhelming, more like a Tiramisu flavored cake. I wasn't too upset, as I still enjoyed some cake after dinner. After three beers and a day of golf, let me tell you that dinner did the trick. I was happy with my experience, as was my dining companion. You can check out the menu and find a decent range depending upon what you're in the mood to eat. Overall, it's a nice hotel lobby restaurant with a large outdoor area. Additionally, this is a beautiful hotel lobby and it was during the holiday season and the tree was quite strikingly nice. And, it was so nice to be in the room within minutes, full and happy.

    Best Caesar salad ever!
    Ara M.

I search the world for the best Caesar salad. I search far and wide, long and hard! Alas I bring you the most unassuming location to feature the tastiest Caesar I have sampled in years! The sauce is super authentic and I ask for red onions and tomatillos/ always fresh and the cheese is incredible-- great pop! I eat this salad weekly and the quality of the lettuce, freshness of the ingredients and overall taste is out of this world!

Paul was excellent. Service was excellent. Quesadilla was delicious! Construction. Sounds were a little rough but not the restaurants fault.

Finally got the chance to stop in and give this place a try, especially since we live at Regents La Jolla right across the street. The bustling crowd and fire pit are what lured us in, but the chocolate martini (~$12) and seasonal pumpkin spice martini will keep me coming back. I definitely want to try the food next time. Prices are decent for the food offered and from what I saw coming out of the kitchen looked pretty impressive. They've got anything from homemade potato chips with blue cheese crumbles to flatbreads and angus burgers (starting at $13) to entrees like pappardelle pasta and pan seared scallops ($30). We apparently stopped in on a night where there were a bunch of ESPN folks staying for MNF. Jon Gruden also made a special appearance. Service was good. Crowd is majority hotel patrons as you might expect and very pleasant - there was no touristy vibe. Lovely place to come by for a drink or two or to watch the game. Amuse is a great option if you don't want to stray too far away from home for a bite and some drinks. We will absolutely be back!

We had a lovely stop after a long drive! This is a pleasant oasis not too far from the beach fireside; fabulous food!

The staff were friendly and accommodating, making the change without any issues. When we arrived, the restaurant was quiet, with only one other party dining inside. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. I was immediately greeted with water, and our server came by shortly after to introduce himself and go over the menu. To start, we ordered the: *Estancia Guacamole: it was fresh, flavorful, and unique, featuring pineapple and pomegranate that added a nice balance of sweetness and texture. For my entrée, I had the: *Estancia Wagyu Burger: this burger was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. It was served with fries. I shared it with a friend, but honestly could have eaten the whole thing myself. For drinks, we tried the: *Jungle Flower Margarita: refreshing and well-balanced. It wasn't overly sweet or bitter like many margaritas can be. *Trinity Margarita: a bit tart for my taste, but my friend enjoyed it. The service throughout the meal was excellent. Our server provided great recommendations, checked on us regularly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. The food was delicious, the drinks were well crafted, the service was outstanding, and the restaurant itself is a cute and welcoming spot. I'd happily return.

Rating: 2.5 (rounded up to 3)…read more I was staying at the Estancia hotel and had dinner here. I noticed that the menu went through an overhaul and none of what I saw on Yelp still exists. It appears to have less of a Mexican influence and more of a rustic Californian vibe. We opted to dine inside vs outside and we were seated right away. The ambience was beautiful and enjoyed the fireplace. Our server was Ivan who greeted us and took our orders promptly. My daughter ordered a kids cheeseburger and we requested to add lettuce and tomato (which was an additional $2). This was not a big deal, but I wish that additional charge was communicated to us for transparency purposes.. more on that later. We also ordered the Kale Caesar salad which was tasty and what you would expect. I ordered the braised osso bucco which was personally recommended by Ivan. The short rib was good but the portion was small. The polenta was a bit pasty and had a texture reminiscent of refried beans. The side of beans and roasted peppers were the least favorable part of the dish though they looked like they would be good. I would've much rather had mashed potatoes. We also ordered the smoked half chicken which was just fine, but nothing to write home about. As for drinks, I ordered the rancho flower margarita which was recommended by the server but was a little too sweet for my liking. My partner ordered a Diet Coke ($6) which was from a fountain machine so when we asked for a refill, we were surprised we were charged for the refill (additional $6) since the server didn't mention that there would be an additional charge for a refill. Again, not a big deal.. but it would've been appreciated if he mentioned this first. My biggest complaint is that we were charged for not only the Diet Coke plus refill but we were also CHARGED FOR A COKE WE NEVER ORDERED. I was trying to get our server's attention to address this, but he was so Busy attending to his other tables that I just gave up so I could enjoy the rest of my evening. In short, this place is okay food wise. Know you will get charged for soda refills and make sure to review your receipt for erroneous charges.

I will definitely not be going back to this theater and expected a lot more from La Jolla, especially when paying almost $50 for a matinee and over $100 on food. Definitely think this theater could take a renovation in their weekday staff and provide their customers with a more enjoyable movie dining experience. When someone doesn't enjoy their job it shows, and I saw this with several staff members there that day. Would not go back or recommend.
