Stopped in friday night decided to eat after a few drinks. Food arrived fast and was very tasty. They did a great job on the tortillas, which some restaurants forget about. Fish was crispy and tasty. Risotto was delicious! Recommend if staying at this hotel!

As some of the reviewers said, "Coming in with low expectations ".... Because of all the bad review's. Now over the last 15 years, this restaurant probably had many change of hands, change of staff, change of menu and a pandemic. Not to mention a recession. So... tonight was great! Edward was our server and he was very attentive, professional, polite and knew how to read his customers. We ate the wings ($18) and Brussel sprouts ($14). Mangorita was fire!!! Delicious! This restaurant is located inside of the Embassy Suites. Maybe you're coming for a business trip and don't want to catch an Uber or hike across the street to UTC. Esthetically very well decorated. Bar had a few people at it and a few in the dining area. Servers and bartenders are trying to survive in this expensive city. Give em' a break. Nice for a meet up too if you don't want loud noises like a Cheesecake Factory. Enjoy and give it a try. Everyone was working as a team and the area was clean.

We received the BEST service during the receptions both nights we stayed and decided to order off the menu one of the nights. We ordered a flatbread pizza and a salad for dinner and they were both awesome. The servers were SLAMMED but were all still so, so nice! Great job!

Nightcap for the evening. Vodka press.

The ravioli was the standout of the night, thin pasta with just enough filling for a delightful bite. The bucatini all'amatriciana wasn't quite what I'm accustomed to, the guanciale was ground rather than diced, and the sauce leaned more toward a meat sauce with an oily finish, not really my style, though the pasta itself was cooked well al dente. The steak, on the other hand, was excellent. Cocktails were great, and the staff were attentive throughout. For dessert, the trio was a nice way to sample a few things, though I wish they offered smaller sampler portions instead of full-size pieces. The Basque cheesecake was excellent and the semifreddo was perfect with a nice crust. The chocolate torte was good but couldn't compete with the other two. Overall a strong dinner spot in La Jolla, especially for pasta lovers and sunset views.

We called an hour ahead to reserve a table and luckily they had availability. We ordered the crudo and octopus as appetizers. The crudo was served with fresh tuna topped with a sweet melon sauce (not to my liking, but still appreciated). The octopus was delicious. For our entrees, we ordered the pistachio pesto pizza, raviolli, and beef ziti. The pizza was my favorite (i love anything pistachio) especially enjoyed the pistachio pesto. I appreciate the thin dough of raviolli and the ziti was good. Overall food was good. Our server's name was Kevin, he was friendly and gave great service.

Freaking religious experience…read more You'll want to set aside a couple hours for dinner at Duke's. Not because it's outdoors and has a great vibe, and helpful, friendly servers, which make you want to stay there for hours with your family, friends, or coworkers--although all of that is true. Not because it has a gorgeous view of the Pacific--which it does. Not even because of their piña coladas! No, my friend. It's because their sautéed Mac nut & herb-crusted fresh fish with mac salad is just *so good* but if you have any reverence for all that is good and true in this world, you'll have to stop every few bites, let your eyes roll back into your head a little, and enjoy it. It's just... slow. Now. First things first. Mac nut, mac salad. One is Macadamia nuts; one is macaroni. Hopefully my team member who raved about the mac salad does not read this and realize that I thought it was a salad of Macadamia nuts. I was like OK, that sounds weird, but I do love Macadamia nuts, so let's try it. She was right to rave. It was *delicious*. In fact, I think the fish and the salad kind of ran together a bit and made each other even more delicious. Look, I'm not sure how it worked, I just know it worked. Apparently for the dinner menu it only shows rice with the fish; ignore that. Just ask them to swap it out. Speaking of lunch, I did also have lunch at Duke's once. Got fish and chips. And let me tell you, the weirdest thing: Their *tartar sauce* was off the charts. I know. Who nails the tartar sauce? But it had this perfect zing to it, as though they got an idea from the usual malt vinegar and mixed it all in there. Given the quality of what I've had do far, you probably can't go wrong at Duke's. Get a reservation, ask for an ocean view--and give yourself plenty of time.

The view was amazing. I chose it for our guest. I knew I'd find something on the menu as a vegan option. I had read they were accommodating so I didn't worry and knew it would be great. I saw a few items labeled vegetarian and I asked what recommendations the server had for vegan options. She told me what was easy to be vegan on the menu and she offered to check with the chef. She came back and gave me more options, which was nice. The dinner menu is different from the lunch menu. I think the lunch menu had a falafel burger and a quinoa vegetable dish. So, for dinner I decided to have a southwestern kale salad without cheese and sub the dressing. I also got a side of roasted veggies. It was a nice variety of veggies and everything was fresh and tasty. I shared the roasted veggies with my husband because it was enough to share. I was very satisfied with the salad.
