Amazing experience. Just moved to Fresno over a year ago from Pittsburgh, Pa. Which I loved my dentist back home and didn't trust anyone else to touch my teeth. I had a nasty toothache that another dentist said I would be fine for another couple of weeks. Well, come that Saturday of the same week, my face was swollen and the tooth had abscessed. I called every emergency dentist and An Lac was the only dentist who could get me in ASAP. I had no problems with getting the appointment paid for or anything. The dentist was super nice and used a generous amount of lidocaine to ensure I didn't feel anything. I opted for a root canal of the tooth. I called early morning to schedule an appointment for my boyfriend with a bad toothache with his molars. Thankfully they were able to fit him into their schedule right away. When we first got there and entered the office, it was very nice and clean. The receptionist offered us coffee, water and snacks while my boyfriend waited to be seen. After we filled out paperwork, he was seen almost immediately. A panoramic x-Ray and and more close up x-rays were done. Afterwards, Thien Nguyen gave him a consultation and diagnosis of the situation. Basically, my boyfriend had a cracked tooth, infection, and a bad filling. He gave us four options: tooth extraction, partial root canal, full foot canal, or root canal with crown. Prices were fair and reasonable considering my boyfriend does NOT have insurance. Dr. Nguyen was very helpful and accommodating in waiting for us to make our decision! He realized he was just a young kid without insurance and was in the same boat at one point when he was in college. My boyfriend opted to do the partial root canal to remove the nerve to get rid of the pain. Later we will come back to complete the procedure. The procedure was fast and smooth. We both really appreciated how he walked us through the procedure on what he was doing. They use local anesthesia so it's a few needles into the area. I have been here a few times and each visit gets progressively worse. The girl at the front is extremely rude. Not just to me, as I heard her on the phone with others as well. She has Karen issues or something going on. The doctor is nice but not thorough. I told him I had an issue and he told me I could just try not biting on hard food on one side of my mouth...instead of actually addressing the problem. Either he didn't want to do the work or he found it less profitable. And the brings me to the last issue, they seem very money hungry. They don't have many patients in my experience. Every other dentist usually has a waiting room of patients. But here, it's always empty. I should have gotten the hint! read more

I had t do to the dentist which has always been a problem for me as I have always been terrified of dentists but luckily I found An Lac. They were very friendly an understanding. The dentist was the best as well as his staff. After getting me in his chair, he explained the procedures. I would need a root canal with filling to fix my problem. I went back in the next day to have the tooth fixed. The dentist took his time to tell me exactly what had to be done and explained every procedure as he was doing them, even taking pictures as he went. He was almost painless as he went to work on me and in about 45 minutes I was done with the root canal. He is a very friendly and conscientious person and did his job and did it well. Both my fiance and I had our own wonderful experience here. He was first, and found them online when he was having some pretty extreme pain. They were the only ones who answered the phone and were able to get him in same day, no problem, and removed his problem tooth super quickly. They comforted him when he panicked about the numbing agent as well. He returned the next week to get his stitches removed, no problem. Mine is a little more extreme. I had been putting off getting my wisdom teeth for years, including just not going to the dentist normally, which meant that one had fully grown in, another had breached, and a third one had started causing me some pretty intense pain. Because of how well my fiance's experience was, I decided to reach out to see if they did impacted wisdom teeth as well. Sure enough, they did, and they were able to get me in super quickly as well. Following my initial x-rays, we discovered that the one tooth that wasn't causing me issues was actually the worst tooth, being hooked at the root, and on the x-ray looked like it could've been touching my nerve. Yikes! A CT scan was required to see how close it was before we could move forward, which they surprisingly had on site, so that was done pretty quickly and painlessly. We were clear to move forward with all 4 removals! Now, I've never had a surgery, teeth removed, or even just stitches. So the actual process was a bit terrifying for someone like me, but any time I felt any pain, they stopped and made sure to numb me up more. They allowed my fiance to stay in there with me the entire time, so I had someone holding my hand (which helped a lot), and they were constantly checking in to make sure it wasn't too much. They were incredibly kind and patient with me, especially when I started crying out of nervousness. We were also able to reach them via phone after I had a bad reaction to my antibiotics, and were able to quickly help me then as well. I followed their post-op instructions to a T and also ended up having a fairly smooth sailing stitch removal a week later. I would highly recommend An Lac for those who are nervous about dentists in general, but especially wisdom teeth removal. They are incredibly understanding and explain the whole process, without making it seem scarier than it needs to be, if that makes sense. They clearly care about their customers and are passionate about their field. We will definitely be returning, especially in the event of another dental emergency, as well as recommending to our friends/family. read more

Have been going here through friends and family recommendation for over a year. It has always been delightful every visit. I had a long time gap between my last dental visit and was nervous for my first visit. But both dentists made me feel welcomed. I also learnt that due to the times they have been severely understaffed and the dentist couple have been running the practice all by themselves! Which brings me to mention a previous review where someone complained about no wait line! This is perfect I mean who wants to wait at any drs office? If I can leave 0 stars I would! This dentist came recommended to me by family members so we came. I made appointments for myself, my husband, and my daughter. When the day before the appointment came, I thought it was weird that no one called to confirm it, so I brushed it off. I called the day of to confirm it since no one called me and the front desk Mya said that she couldn't find my insurance. I gave her more info and she said if there were any issues she would call. She called 30 minutes before the appointment and we already almost there. When we got there she showed me the coverage was termed but Powell dentist another dental office was able to find my coverage. The front desk informed me she ran my insurance yesterday and knew there was an issue and when I told her why she didn't call me to let me know she couldn't answer me. This office was very unprofessional. I highly do not recommend coming here. PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! I just had a terrible experience at this place. I'm four months pregnant and they made me wait for over 1 hour and a half to tell me the most absurd thing. "They can't contact my insurance company (because they are located on the east coast) even tho I gave them the number yesterday morning to call and they didn't call. They decided to call when I was in the office and had me waiting all this time for nothing! I would like to say that this place is a God sent. I orginally went to have a my wisdom tooth extracted and was very pleased with the results, however today my son had an infected tooth that was causing severe pain and swelling, I called An Lac Dental this morning and they meet me at their office and took care of my son right away. I have definitely found my new Dentist. This office was immaculate and all technology was brand new and completely up to date. I called on a Saturday morning, in an emergency situation, they were able to get me in that day! I assumed immediately that my tooth would have to be extracted, However, they were able to save it and build me a beautiful crown! I came in in so much pain, expecting the worst, and left in a great mood with no discomfort. They really care about you and your wellbeing. I would recommend this practice to anyone -- they gave me all my options and clear/simple pricing. I was able to book an appointment by texting, which was amazing because over the weekend my filling cracked and I wanted to make sure I got in somewhere before it fell out. Another practice called to tell me all of their dentists were on vacation this week, but An Lac was texting me right away and I got an appointment that day. I was able to get a root canal and crown that day because they make the crowns in house --- no awkward temporary. PLUS --- my cracked tooth was a blessing in disguise and I was lucky I was at such a thorough practice, because my tooth is weirdly long - there was an infection at the very tip of my root that I now think have been causing my chronic migraines the last few years. I needed a dentist that was open on Saturdays and truthfully thats the only reason I chose this place. But I'm glad I did. I've needed a lot of work done on my teeth and Im deathly afraid of the pain. But the dentist here is so calming. He makes me feel 100% comfortable. He's patient. I feel really relaxed coming here. He always wants to make sure I dont feel anything. And I never do. I had a root canal done a couple weeks ago and my wisdom teeth pulled yesterday and I didnt feel ANYTHING during both procedures. Im in a little pain now but thats expected and its really minimal. I really recommend this place. Its in a location that looks kinda sketchy.. But dont be fooled by location. Its so clean and pretty inside. They also have free waters/juice and snacks in the lobby and a cute section for children to play with some pretty cool toys. I just want to say thank you for making me feel as comfortable as possible. To be honest, I cried a little while I got my wisdom teeth pulled and they didnt seem annoyed or anything. It meant a lot! I went to An Lac back when I had to have emergency wisdom tooth removal. I had been eating some very scrumptious tortillas chips and had for many years avoided getting my wisdom teeth pulled. As I was crunching on this very thick and very tasty tortilla chip, the chip broke into smaller pieces and one of the pieces lodged between my gum area and the upper tooth, as I was chewing! In the gum line adjacent to the backside of my lower wisdom tooth is where the chip stabbed into the gumline and painfully stopped me for a moment, but it felt more or less ok, after a while. In the following days, my gum area was NOT OK, AT ALL! I tried to remedy my situation with holistic methods, to NO avail. I went to a clinic and was told that I needed to see someone who could pull the tooth. Another dentists office that I tried, said that it would be months before they could do anything and the place looked like a animal control facility. Finally, my mother recommended this dentist, that she found through an ad link in a google search, long story short this dentist had my tooth out, completely and I didn't feel a thing! The soreness came in the following days, but I was given a pain management prescription. I highly recommend this dentist on skill and professionalism. He seems to put his all into his work! dr thien nguyen is very friendly and professional. his skill is average or maybe as good as other dentists i have been to. he did deep clean and filled 6 of my cavities with careful explanations and other details. however, my fillings were somewhat uneven. he did try to make the filling as smooth as possible before i left but i really appreciated. however, after i got home and numbing is gone. i realized my fillings are very uncomfortable, so i wanted to come in as soon as possible but my dad got admitted to er and then icu. i couldn't go until next friday. got appointment at 3pm. i got there at 2:57pm. signed my name and waited for another 10-15mins with no one greeting. after 15 mins, a dentist(probably his wife or co worker) asked me to come in without introducing who she is. she sat me down and told me to watch netflix and wait. then when she came, she started polishing my teeth fillings without saying anything except commanding to open my mouth, so she could do her polishing. she made me feel that i was begging her or i am making it a big deal to come back there. i was feeling terribly uncomfortable okay? thats why i was back. i hate to going to dentists all my life, i went because i have to. my insurance paid for your service. i am not begging or try to bother you. please be professional! i will not recommend any of my friends to come back!!! read more
