I might have found my favorite empanadas spot!! It's located in a small strip mall near Lake Ida and Congress. They have wide and great selections of empanada fillings (ranging from the classics chicken or beef to brisket, ham and cheese, rice and beef & they have vegetarian option as well) the fillings are quite generous, thin crust and packed with delicious fillings. They're served with chimichurri and hot sauce. They have small selection of mini desert empanadas also!! We ordered the classic beef, brisket and chicken curry. Our community worked with John & Ana at Ana's Killer Empanadas to cater our Latin Night. It was easy working with John, we ordered a selection of empanadas, cilantro rice, and black beans for 90 neighbors. John brought all of food clearly labeled and identified. He helped us load it into our warmers at 5 o'clock. It was easy to serve from the trays provided. Everyone was raving about the delicious, meatball, Philly cheesesteak, vegetarian, brisket, chicken, dolce de Leche, apple pie and guava cheese empanadas. My only regret is that I didn't have some of Ana's menus and cards as all wanted to know where the shop is. The folks are very friendly. I ordered 2 meat pies and a guava and cheese. Packed with delicious ground beef and a few green olives. I also purchased a jar of the chimichanga sauce. The next day I spread a generous amount on some country ribs and cooked them in a Dutch oven covered at 300 degrees for an hour and a half.. I'm not even a fan of empanadas. And weeks later when someone mentions empanadas, I find myself raving about the ones I tried. Mind you, I didn't go to the establishment myself. A friend picked some up for us to try. It's amazing! The exterior crust was not too doughy. I usually have to break some dough off that I don't want feels like too much or too thick. These were perfect. And the meat inside was packed! What a great ratio. The flavors were good also. Honestly, one empanada was like an equivalent to a meal for me. This is my favorite take-out place, period. Don't come here expecting a traditional style empanada, come here expecting to fall in love with these baked specialty empanadas. I've tried a few of them including the Meatball Parmesan, Beef, Buffalo Chicken, and the Cuban. My least favorite is the beef. I was surprised that they add chopped eggs into the meat. After I started dipping it into their chimichurri sauce, I liked it a lot more. Saving the best for last, are my two favorites; Philly Cheesesteak and the BBQ Brisket. If you love BBQ, you will love the Brisket. All of the empanadas are baked, but the shell is crispy and the fillings are plentiful. I highly recommend Ana's!!! I was driving back to atlanta from Miami and wanted some good empanadas to have on the road. Really glad I found this place. The empanadas was big and super filled with the meat inside. The flavor was really good and they gave me some spicy sauce that compliments it so well. Service was fast and friendly. Large empanadas with delicious fillings! I visited Ana's on a Friday morning and I must say, I love this local business. The menu changes daily, but always includes a few staple items like the Cuban and the Brisket empanadas. It's a small, simple place but the service and the food are excellent. It was morning, so I ordered 1 Bacon, Egg, and Cheese to eat first. I also ordered 1 Cuban, 1 Brisket, and 1 Philly Cheesesteak for my daughter. The empanada crust is solid! It's not too soft and it's not too dense. It holds up well to the large amount of filling inside each empanada. And the savory empanadas have shredded cheese added to the outside of the pastry. With all the empanadas that I have tried, including plenty in Miami. These empanadas are by far the best I have had! I couldn't believe how stuffed and crunchy they were! Their dough was perfect. We tried their classic and were surprised at how it is nothing like we have ever had before. Very unique. I would say to try it, but you must like green olives. I was not anticipating them inside. The dessert must have a different dough or maybe mine were from yesterday, but were very hard. We tried all three and the Dulce de leche was by best. Ana's Killer Empanadas is located in a nondescript plaza on Congress Avenue in Boynton Beach. It would be easy to drive past but that would be a mistake. This little corner of Boynton has become quite the foodie paradise in recent years. I have been coming here to pick up the best perogies from Rogies Perogies and I am addicted to the honeycomb ice cream at Proper. There is also a French bakery. My friend and I were in the area and she enthusiastically recommended stopping by Ana's. She knows what I like so I didn't hesitate to take her advice. Walking up I spotted Ana's Dia De Los Muertos theme on the door which I love. Ana was born in Honduras but has extensive experience throughout Latin America which influenced her culinary background. After landing in the U.S., Ana started out in the catering business in Los Angeles but after moving to Palm Beach county she decided to combine her love of Latin empanadas with fusion cuisine fillings and the rest is delicious history. Ana's is a small counter service operation. You can pick up frozen empanadas as take 'n bakes or order their hot ones from the case to go. Ana has 35 flavors which she rotates so sign up online to be one her amigos to get notification of what is being offered. We were helped by Ana's husband John who who was so sweet and helpful. Be sure to check into Yelp for a 15 percent discount. I was only going to get one empanada but before I knew what happened I ended up with three savory empanadas and three of the mini dessert empanadas. Ana offers the traditional flavors you would expect but also some unique and delicious combinations. I couldn't resist the BBQ beef brisket made with 12 hour slow cooked brisket. the meatball parmesan empanada with house made marinara, and the tropical coconut curry chicken made with a mild curry and coconut milk. I rounded out my order with three of the mini pina colada empanadas. All of my savory empanadas also came with sauces, BBQ, homemade, chimichurri sauce, and the homemade marinara sauce. Oh my word. These empanadas are a mouth party. They were super stuffed and one was enough for me at a time. I ate each one slowly to enjoy the flavors in the fillings. I can't even pick a favorite, they were all so different and delicious. The dessert empanadas were the perfect little sweet something to satisfy, My only regret is that I didn't pick up some of the frozen empanadas as well. I am definitely going to head back and stock up for back to school next week. They will be the perfect something I need when I get home too late and too tired to cook. If you buy three, there is is combo price. All empanada is the same price. We got the beef brisket, curry chicken, bbq chicken salty empanada. We also got pina colada and apple pie. We had Classic Beef, Arroz con Carne, Cuban Sandwich, and Meatball Parmesan empanadas. The *flavor* ranged from pretty good (Cuban) to "meh" (Arroz con Carne) but one thing that was true of all four empanadas: they were dry. Very, very dry (or, if you like, "estuvieron muy, muy secos"). The Arroz con Carne was so dry, that when you cut into it, the insides fall our like a meat and rice piñata: there's no moisture to hold the filing together. The Cuban sandwich was the best, by far, but unfortunately, that's mostly because of the blessed pickle which added some much-needed moisture to the thing. Like I mentioned, the flavor was decent, but honestly, even the best flavor in the world is a non-starter if the food itself is parched. The dough was OK: it was a chewy dough, which I wasn't expecting. Not bad, mind you, but empanada pastry should be flaky, not chewy. The chimichurri (we paid extra for 2 tubs which they didn't give us! Grrr) is pretty much necessary to give the empanadas more moisture and a bit more flavoring. But, here again, we were slightly disappointed. As far as chimichurri goes, it was a bit on the bland side. So the question is: should you go here? That's a hard question for me to answer. I'm just a dumb tourist here; I live in NYC, where we have truly magnificent empanadas. Nobody is going to accuse Florida of having phenomenal ethnic cuisine (although I would hope Miami has killer Cuban cuisine), but I think if you're a native, this is going to be as good as you'll get, as far as I can see. If you're from a big city, I'm pretty sure you're not going to call these "killer" empanadas. They're OK. read more

New empanada spot in Delray: opened 3/18/23. We were at Proper Ice Cream and saw the "Now Open" banner last night so returned this morning. We tried 4 flavors: beef, chicken, veggie and beefy mac n cheese. We got a couple of dipping sauces with them including hot sauce, salsa verde and chimichurri. Everything was excellent: empanadas were packed solid with fillings and seasoned dough was perfectly soft with crispy edges. The sauces were also excellent and fresh, particularly the chimichurri, so delicious I ate some of it by itself. Establishment is clean and the owner was friendly: I really hope this place has success in Delray. We look forward to coming back again. read more

Very disappointed lately. I have been a regular customer since you opened. I don't drive so I have them delivered through DoorDash. I order a couple times a week. Lately they have become so dry. I always order the brisket empanadas and arroz con carne (at the beginning you used to have a honey bbq chicken that was excellent but you don't seem to make them anymore. The last 2 times ordering the brisket has not been enjoyable. This was a couple of days ago. After we each got about half way through them we threw them away. The empanada selection here is amazing. They have all the craziest flavors and dipping sauces one can think of. My personal favorite was the buffalo chicken which was spicy and rich in flavor. The meatball parm empanada was also f**king amazing. It's a small little shop but definitely worth the visit. The prices were a little crazy though. I thought I was getting 6 for $25 (which is still a lot) but apparently the speciality ones are even more and I spent about $35 on 7 of them. It's a to-go place but they have a small table inside if you feel like having a quick bite there. They offer freshly made empanadas and frozen to take home as well. I got to try; Southern BBQ Beef Brisket Empanada, Classic Beef Empanada, Curry Coconut Chicken Empanadas, Arroz Con Carne empanadas, and Pollo Gordito/Chubby Chicken Empanadas. The service starts right when you walk through the door! I went on a week day and I've actually been waiting to try this place out for a year or two because I don't live in Florida. I didn't get the chance the last time I was here. The girl behind the counter was friendly and answered our questions with ease.
