My husband and I came here for dinner a few weekends ago and absolutely loved it! We are new to Broomfield and were happy to find a quality Mexican spot so close. After having dinner here I have to say I'm seriously disappointed. Both with the food and my fellow yelpers who gave this place five stars. Chips and salsa-- store bought cheap chips. Like eating cardboard and completely ruins the taste of anything you put on them. Entrees-- I got the veggie fajitas and hubby got steak and shrimp fajitas. They left something to be desired. Lacking flavor and the sides were small and nothing special. Asked hubby what he thought of his meal and he said "I've had better." Never something you want to hear a man say. I always hate travel because it means dining alone, sitting at the bar, and looking at your phone. This was completely opposite. It was like visiting friends. Antonio and everyone was awesome. The food was great, and the salsa was excellent. This was one time I didn't mind traveling alone as I didn't have to share my salsa with anyone. Excellent experience. My friend and I went here on a Thursday night for dinner around 7:30. We got seated right away and the waitress came to ask what we would like to drink. We got our water and chips/salsa within moments. 15 minutes later we were still waiting for the waitress to come back to take our order. She stopped by the table to ask if we were ready and we said yes. She said she would be right back. 10 minutes later she is literally at the table next to us cleaning it off. She completely ignored us! She passed us no less than 3 more times making no eye contact at all! We then see her on the other side of the restaurant bussing other tables! We waited and waited and she still never came to take the order. (I'm talking another 15 minutes!) We stood up to leave and walked out of the door with NO response from her! Simply put, the food is incredible. I love that I can call in an order for take out, pick it up and be home in minutes. They do a great job with takeout- separating what needs to be in different boxes so it doesn't get mushy. The portions are nice and big- but not excessive- which is good because leftover Mexican isn't exactly ideal. I recommend the fried tacos with shredded beef. They remind me exactly of the tacos I used to get in New Mexico. Most places don't do shredded beef, so I recommend you try it with whatever you order. If you stop by and dine in- try the house margarita. It comes in an oversized mason jar with fruit. read more

It is Friday evening, so... we were lucky to check in at 5:25. By 5:40 the waiting area was packed, flowing out the door. Just missed the rush! Tecate light, which I'd never had, on special. So I tried it. Good stuff! I thought so even though I usually go for dark beers, which this is not. But it has flavor, and Guinness or a stout don't go well with Mexican food anyway. Carnitas plate is also on special, available on Fridays only. I'd been curious, but we'd never been here on Friday, so couldn't get it then. So I did. And I really enjoyed *every* *single* *item* *on* *my* *plate*. Amazing. I was initially put off by the pork, because it was chunks, not shredded like every carnitas I've ever had. But it was clearly marinated, long and well, making it delicious and (really) fork-cut tender. The green chile on it was also excellent. Bit of guacamole on the side - creamy and tasty. Refried beans - I feel you can always judge a Mexican restaurant by the quality of its refried beans, and these were so very tasty and smooth. Even the rice. Usually it's dry and unappetizing, an afterthought. This was (a) not tinted pinky-red as "Mexican rice", just white rice, but (b) with something on it that made it My wife liked her chile rellenos (crispy), too. She wouldn't class it as the best she's had because they're only available stuffed with cheese, and she prefers them stuffed with ground beef. Heck, we even liked the chips and salsa at the start. The chips were excellently crisp, and whole, not broken up pieces, salted well. The salsa had just a little bite, more flavorful than really spicy. Friendly, attentive service, too. Happy! (By the way, my 5 stars is relative to the restaurant class: Local family Mexican restaurants. No point in comparing it to a great steakhouse or seafood place; that's a different scale.) read more

Went with a girlfriend for a gab session and we both ordered combo platters. I really liked the chips & salsa. My beef taco and beef/beef tostado were both just okay. The accompanying beans & rice were good though and my soft chile relleno was quite delicious! Not too soggy, cheesy or greasy and the chile on top was delicious. The cheese in my girlfriends cheese enchilada wasn't melted so that was not good but overall we were pleased. I'll go again to try some other items and partake in a margarita or two-it is super close to my house! read more

Ana's has been one of my favorite go-to restaurants for Mexican comfort food. The mole is out of this world and the Friday carnitas are a definite favorite of mine. If you like salsa (and I love salsa) I recommend ordering the salsa sampler. The salsas vary based on what's been recently made but there's generally a roasted jalapeño (I could eat vats of this), a pineapple salsa, and a tomatillo based salsa. Other variations I've had include a hotter than hot red salsa and a tasty ghost chili salsa. Even better, if you become addicted (like I have) you can buy the salsas in pints/quarts to take home. Margaritas are pretty good - I like the guava but do find them a bit strong (I'm a lightweight, though, so don't take my word for it). Saturdays and Sundays Ana's is open for breakfast. Breakfast tacos and chilaquiles are just a couple of the offerings available. Honestly, my husband and I have never had a bad dish here. The service can sometimes get bogged down when they're really busy but all of the staff are very nice and attentive. read more

Went here for the first time on a week night and it was packed. That's a good thing though because it shows this place must be good! And it didn't disappoint! We still made it in time for happy hour and my husband and I each got the large house margarita, delicious! I got the tacos al carbon with carne adovada and he got the chicharron burritos smothered in green chile. Everything was sooo good, even the side of beans were the best I've had eating out in a long time! Wow...great find today... went a saw a movie and then wanted to grab a bite to eat. We are very picky when it comes to Mexican. Salsa was delicious to start off with, my wife ordered the chicken enchiladas and I had the fried beef tacos. It's hard to find fried tacos...these were some of the best I've ever had at a restaurant. My wife loved the beans that came with her meal and also liked the enchiladas. The positive first: the drinks are strong, good, and reasonably priced. Try the guava marg. The food and service left a lot to be desired. We went on a Sunday and it took over an hour to get our food. We watched others get seated and served by our server before we did. The staff was far more focused on the soccer game than service. Our water glasses stayed empty until we asked for more. The nacho appetizer portion was small for the price, only enough for 2 people at the most, and even then not much to it. But, if you read my reviews you'll know, I am partial to Hacienda Colorado and The Rio. Just tried Ana's for the first time after hearing good things from our neighbor. Salsa is homemade and excellent. Chips are good. I had the steak burrito and my son had steak fajitas. All ingredients were fresh and everything tastes homade. Ana's is owned by a wonderful family and it is great to see them succeeding by taking pride in what they do. Came here on a Friday night, so we knew it'd be busy. Greeting: this place was super busy and there is not a great place to wait. They have two park benches by the entrance and that's all for a waiting area. Would be helpful if they'd divide the space differently. Chips & Salsa: so you're at a Mexican restaurant, you have to start with chips and salsa, right? They were okay ... Nothing to write home about, but decent. However, it is a total pet peeve of mine when Mexican restaurants charge for additional baskets (they charge $1.50 here), especially if you wait a while. Service: Slow ... Very ... Very ... Slow :( We were here for over an hour and never even got our food. We finally gave up and left. Wish I could have said the food was worth the wait, but I can't even say that since we were all hungry and cranky and chose to bail and find somewhere else. read more

I came in for dinner one Thursday night and it was so crowded that I ended up sitting at the bar. The complementary salsa was fantastic, really smoky and I thought that would be a good indicator of what was to come. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the rest of the meal. I got the special which was avocado enchiladas. It was almost impossible to taste avocados at all in the sauce. The ground beef was basically flavorless. It was just really meh. Let's just say the hidden gem at this place is the ever so perfect MICHELADA'S! I have had quite a bit of michelada's in my day and this is easily in my top 3 favorites! I always order the Enchilada Nortena's with shredded beef, over medium eggs, and green chili. If that doesn't sound like heaven I don't know what does! As you can see they are lacking a star. I tried the green posole once and it was lacking flavor. Not to mention the service here is always hit or miss. I always arrive hoping I get seated in the younger gentleman's section. We were seated right away. The servers were awesome and super friendly. We got beef and bean burrito, a cheese enchilada, and a taco all of it was so good. Definitely the best Mexican food we've had around here. I also got a Bronco drink it was good as well. This review is solely based on our experience tonight. We went in to place a to go order. The restaurant had only a few customers and ample wait staff. I sat at the bar for over 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. I then ordered a margarita and placed my order. I then drank my drink which was good. Several minutes passed and a food order was brought up and placed by the register where it sat for another significant amount of time, probably another 10 minutes. I finally asked the waitress if that was my order and not a phone in order. She replied that oops, yes it was and that she had forgotten about it. She was busy at the time showing pictures on her phone to different customers. There was no offer to do anything about the now cold food. Once we got the food home, we noticed that our combination meal (#14) was missing the beef taco. We have eaten there or have picked up food several times in the past. We love the food but, honestly this is not the first time they have lacked in their customer service. When a customer comes in and is making eye contact with you-- you may want to say something!!! This is likely enough to make us not order from this restaurant again. read more

I have had both good and not do great experiences with the food here. When it's good, it's pretty good if you get the right thing. When it's off, the fish tacos are icky and very fishy tasting. Not worth giving a Second chance. Tacos are good, enchiladas were meh but the Margs were tummy and service has always been great. I like this place and the food is good, but if you're a vegetarian, watch out. All three times I have dined here, they've messed up my order and given me chicken inside of the burrito I've ordered, or put green chile (with pork) on top of my food when I asked for none. This is not a big deal to those who eat meat, but for non-meat eaters, this is no bueno. And it keeps happening. I ate there about a year ago. The food was mediocre. The people are real awesome at nice. But today I ordered two chicken burritos to go. I anticipated using my dining discount pass from restaurant.com. this entitled me to a buy one get one free. Their logo was printed out on my certificate. I showed the manager... He says they do not honor any coupons or any certificates. I told them that they're advertisement and their promo is right on restaurant.com... but he would not honor.
