I've been here a few times with friends. The tacos were solid. They tend to be popular in the afternoons, at least when I've been there. I was glad they were doing good business but the staff did get overwhelmed. Food and drinks took a while so this may not be a place you can get in and out of quickly, especially in the afternoons. Ambiance was nothing special. A lot of seating. Good for groups. I wasn't impressed with the cocktails. Stick with beer. read more

I love this place so much. Don't let the "tacos" in the title fool you as they have much more to offer. We tried two nearby restaurants for brunch Sunday and there was a huge wait. Walked in here and it was half empty. They can be slow occasionally as they usually have only two people working, the front server and a cook. But they have great beers on tap, and great snacks, so the food is worth any wait you might have. Their green chile is on point. And the breakfast burrito we had this morning was stellar. They are dog friendly with an outdoor patio. The server is always super friendly. All in all, we still got out of here after catching part of a football game and having a great meal before we would have even been seated at the other place. I think of it as kind of a locals place, we know it's here but hope other people don't find it. read more

Uncrowded lunch hour on Saturday. Served my Coors Light (tap) order with friendly promptness and given the menu. For a neighborhood sports bar located in a strip center next to a liquor store, this place is incredibly light, with glass walls on both ends. It seemed to keep out Riff Raff. I had chicken tacos and selected the house Red Sauce, which earned 5 Stars. Real Deal! Excellent heat, thick, and clearly homemade! Guy next to me got huevos rancheros. Went here looking to get some tacos. Went in and sat ourselves, only sat for a couple minutes before we were greeted. So the service was really good. I liked the feel of the restaurant and it was a nice place. We both decided to get classic tacos. So you can either get the 2 or 3 tacos and they have to be 3 of the tacos, but we had asked the waitress if we could do a mix and she said yes that would be fine. Did not mention any extra cost or anything. So we got 3 separate tacos each. The tacos were good, no complaints, I do not think they were the best tacos I have eaten, but they were tasty. I got the tomatillo sauce and I thought it tasted great. What I was not satisfied with is when we got the bill is they charged us for 3 orders of 2 tacos instead of 2 orders of 3 tacos. This lead to our bill being 4 dollars more expensive. We also did not realize when she asked if we wanted chips and salsa when we first came in it would be 4 dollars. I think that is a little pricey for chips and salsa. We paid and left because it was not worth making a fuss about, but I was not happy with being under the impression we could get different tacos, but than charged extra for it. read more

Got a recommendation for G's from the assistant manager of our complex... Spot on! Said as a native Texan, I know my Mexican food, period. After moving to CO almost 3 months ago, I can tell you, I've been to at least a dozen (yes, twelve) different local joints... And only G's and one other hit the mark. I posted a few photos... It was ALL good - cooked fresh, seasoned well and cooked as we ordered. We were greeted when we arrived and figured out quickly to seat ourselves (not really as big a deal as others have posted, but hey, just my opinion), and the staff we're awesome... No really. So..... I had to write this review because, truly I'm perplexed as to why the rating is only 3.5 stars.... Definitely worthy of 4... Minimum. And, gotta send a shout out to Tara for the recommendation... Ordered breakfast to go a few weeks ago and it was good. The online ordering experience was easy. The burritos were big and tasty. The to-go bloody Mary's were spicy and good. Went back for dinner last week. Ordered tacos. They were very disappointing. Even the chips and queso were blah. And, when I went to pick them up, none of the staff were wearing masks. Listen here! The best wings and fry combo I have ever had. I could tell with each juicy, crispy, flavor filled bite that whoever made my wings, loves wings just as much as I do! These wings were made with love and not made just because they were ordered! The bartender was quick, witty and attentive to us and everyone around us! G's gets all As from me! We moved to this part of town last summer and quickly became regulars here. The food is excellent (the perfect hangover taco) and it's usually pretty quiet on weekend afternoons for lunch, which is when we usually go. There is a nice patio to enjoy your meal outside, but we also get take out from here probably as often as we dine in. Food is just as good when you get it home as it is eating in the restaurant. If you call about 10-15 minutes ahead of time, they usually have it ready when you get there and they get you out the door quickly. It's also a bar so great spot to just go have a marg if you don't want food. Plenty of TVs, too if you're looking to watch a game. This place is such a hidden gem, I can't say enough good things about it! read more

Holy yum! When I go to a bar I expect good (or even halfway decent) food. I figure I will be eating the usual burger and fries, cheesesticks, etc. Not at G's. They serve Mexican food (which is awesome!) and plenty of drinks/beers to try. My husband ordered a steak/fajita burrito. He has never raved about every aspect of a burrito before. From the steak to the chile to the rice he loved every bite of it. I ordered the Colorado burrito with chicken instead of steak. The chicken was so tender that it literally melted in my mouth! The potatoes were cooked pefectly and the chile it was smothered in added the perfect amount of kick. I'm already looking forward to going back. I think I need to try the rice. If my husband is raving about something as simple as rice it must be amazing. On top of that we had an order of chips, salsa and queso. I could take it or leave it. It was good but the burrito was really filling. (Oh did I mention it's $6 for a big burrito? Can't beat that! At any other restaurant it would be $9 or $10.) My husband and I had jack and cokes. About $5 and some change a piece for a tall glass. Not a bad price. With three drinks, chips and two smothered burritos the total came to $39. However, the chef came out and said it took longer than it should have and he didn't charge us for the burritos! Wow! Talk about great customer service! We wouldn't have even known it wasn't supposed to take so long but he came out anyway. We will definitely be back G's! We were very impressed! read more

This is a total neighborhood bar. It is close to my house so I decided to stop in and get a quick bite to eat. There are a lot of regulars and they are very friendly. Much more than the staff. They also gave me some recommendations for my order. I placed an order for the chicken White Trash tacos. Sat at the bar, had a cold beer while waiting. The tacos were way better than expected. I ordered them with the habanero sauce. It was nice and spicy. I would consider this a dive bar with decent food. The prices aren't bad and the portions are good. read more

I used to eat here quite a bit, it's close to the office and I think the food is pretty solid. A couple of years ago my wife stopped here to bring me home a burrito. It was right after work on a weeknight, not when you would really expect an 'adult' atmosphere. The bartender was discussing his preferences in pornography with a customer. At about 6PM on a Tuesday. Five feet from my young son. So I had them on probation for a long time. Today I happened to be in the area and figured it had been a while, let's give it another go. The bartender greeted me, I saw a 'seat yourself' sign, and I sat down at a table. And waited. And waited. And waited. After a whisker over ten minutes, with zero service, I left. It was busy, but not exactly packed. Maybe we just got unlucky twice here. YMMV, but I won't be back. read more

Decided to finally stop in for bite. I always see this place if I run to Subway(across the street) for lunch. As soon as you walk in from either entrance, you'll see the big bar and LCD screens. Seems like this place would be good for a happy hour. I ordered the soft steak-fajita tacos. You get four soft taco's with salsa on the side. Tacos were pretty big in size compared to some places and very good. I'll have to try a burrito next time and maybe setup a happy hour after work. read more

My review is based on a ""take out"" order experience tonight. I requested the Colorado burrito, 2 fish tacos, 2 beef tacos via their website. Added sopapilla's via phone while driving to pick up order. Everything was ready upon arrival. The fish tacos and Colorado burrito were AWESOME! Everything was really good! So much so I actually called them to tell them after we ate and am writing this review. I'll write a follow up review based on the "dine in " experience. Review update: Dined in the restaurant/bar. Food is really really fresh and tasty! Was very surprised though when we shared our positive experience with the waitress that she actually recommended two other competitors near by as better. We have eaten at both and while the ambiance at those are more of a restaurant vs a bar, we still like the food at G's much better. read more

Where to start. I've been here once before. And it was all good tacos and humorous speedy service. Unfortunately this time around was a different story. It honestly could not have been slower services. It took well over an hour to complete our orders. And another 30 miuntes before they even took our orders. I could have gone back there and made all of our orders in less time than it took for them to get our food to us. Adding insult to injury, everything was cold. No meal was even remotely hot. And on top of all that they took mandatory gratuity and refused to compensate us in any way. I had a good opinion of Gs initially but they have thoroughly changed my mind. I will not be going back. After reading all the great reviews of G's, and trying it on two separate occasions for dinner, I have to say I was disappointed. Both visits consisted of super duper salty food. I'm all for my food being seasoned, but not to the point that I leave feeling like I've been pickled. We've tried tacos, a burrito, the carnitas plate and a couple of appetizers, and overall it's just not that great. Like Shaun S mentioned, it seems a tad overpriced for what you actually get. I agree with Michelle P, you can make better Mexican food at home. I gave it two tries, but at the end of the day the food (chili, beans, proteins) are extremely salty, and the food and drinks are way too expensive. If you want to spend $50 for two people to have crappy burritos and a couple of drinks a piece, this is your place. I thought the salt thing was a one time thing -- nope!!! read more
