Chicken Adana Kebab Mixed Shish Lamb and Chicken
    Jeffrey H.

The food is delicious, the chicken is very flavorful and portion sizes are great, feels like a good portion to price ratio. They also have a sizeable menu and a whole dessert case by the register. There is outdoor seating and a decent amount of indoor seating. It is spacious inside, but the night that we went was empty (Thursday night). Where this restaurant loses points is the service. Unfortunately, our server was very difficult to work with on getting our orders correct. Multiple times she got our order wrong or forgot what we got and had to come back to the table to get the order again. Additionally, when the food was coming out, she was giving it to the wrong people at the table (party of 7 in an empty restaurant) and 2 of the plates came out very late compared to the others (about a 15 minute difference). This made 2 people feel left out eating with the rest of the table. When the 2 remaining plates finally came out, one of them was the wrong one!! At that point, we already shared our food with the other 2 people and they weren't even hungry anymore and were frustrated. Overall, service was very slow and confusing. Our server was nice, but she either needed more training or attention to detail. Considering we were the only customers at that time, this was a very surprising experience.

    Lamb shish wrap

I was going to go here in person because I thought it was an all you can eat buffet, but when I called ahead of time to confirm after some confusion with not being able to find a buffet price on the website, the person who answered the phone confirmed that there is no all you can eat buffet at this restaurant. That was a little disappointing, but I was still in the mood for some Mediterranean food so I decided to order delivery instead. I got the Lamb Shish Wrap with Babaganoush for $11.95, which was a great price for a wrap with a side! Lamb Shish Wrap: The pita was a little on the dry side and the entire wrap was also a bit skinny, but there were sizeable chunks of lamb in the wrap with tomatoes, red onion, and lettuce. The lamb had good flavor and $11.95 for lamb alone is a pretty good deal, so this is definitely worth it. Babaganoush: This had some nice flavor and added some needed moisture to the wrap. I alternated bites of the wrap with this and it ended up being an amazing combination. Really nice texture and taste on this one! In addition, the menu didn't say it but this meal came with a salad of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, red onion, and parsley with a nice olive oil based vinaigrette, which was a nice surprise. The salad also added a nice freshness and burst of flavor to the wrap. All around, this is a really great deal for $11.95. You get a good amount of food and everything complements each other really well. While there were individual things with the wrap that could be improved, the meal as a whole is a really good value. I will definitely be back and try some of the other items, although I am quite sad that there isn't an all you can eat buffet here.

I only tried desserts and the Turkish tea and coffee here so I can't speak to the rest of the food, but their kunefe, regular baklava, and pistachio baklava were really good! It's cozy in there and the service is solid.

This is a somewhat under the radar restaurant in the heart of Brookline village. What reassured me is that the wait staff were actually all Turkish, as were many of the patrons. This restaurant specializes in northern Turkish cuisine and was recommended by one of our Turkish friends. We tried a bit of everything, but the highlights of the meal were the Ali Nazik Kebab (listed under main entrees), the stuffed cheese phyllo, the lamb kebab, and the Ezme. If you like smokey roasted eggplant, the Ali Nazik Kebab was one of the best versions of eggplant I've ever had in my life! All my dining companions tried to eat my dish as they also loved it too. It's a smokey eggplant base with sharp garlicky flavors topped with juicy chunks of lamb kebab. The contrast of the creamy base with the tender meat was just incredible. Lahmacun (sort of like Turkish pizza) was fun to try too, not sure if I would get it again as it was a bit dry for my taste, but others seemed to love it. Overall would definitely return the next time I'm craving eggplant or lamb.

Gotta say, this place stands up well ( even compared to a recent simply extraordinary meal at high end Günaydin in Dubai)-- and that's a high standard for a streetside Turkish lunch in Brookline Village. I'll be ready to eat here again in a flash. Lunch: Adana, kofti kebabs, eggplants salads, bit of hummus, some white bean salad and bread to start, and a starter cup of lentil soup, swept clean. Yes, kebabs were excellent. We did not try the pide or any other appealing choices. Stuffed And, importantly, a small bottle of Doganay, mild. Wasn't on the menu, but when I asked, they said yes: mild or hot. Mild 'twas. (And an excellent smiling waiter)

This is my first time trying Turkish food. I could not remember what I ordered but I was surprised by the presentation! The rice plate came with sliced lamb wrap and seasoned rice with a flame in middle of it. The food was tasty, the staff were friendly and provided recommendations on what to order. The atmosphere is quiet and clean on a Wednesday night and it definitely feels like an authentic turkey restaurant.

Came here with my friend who had the owner set up a meal for 8 to let us try a bit of everything. Ended up being a huge meal including appetizers, meats and desserts. Never ate much halal food before but this was one of the most amazing food I have tasted. The meat tray was out of this world. Maybe the chicken wasn't super amazing (it's chicken, it can only taste so good) but the lamb and beef might have been one of the best I've ever had. To be honest, I didn't really know what I was eating, just everything in that meat tray was outstanding. I'm sure if you show them the picture of the meat tray they can tell you what meat it was but 100% recommend trying everything but maybe the chicken. Still think about that lamb and beef every couple days... Definitely will be going back soon.

Chicken wrap with red onions. Do you see red onions? Me either.
    Stephen S.

First off the guy seemed like he was rushing the order, like he didnt have time to answer any questions I had about the food. I ordered the chicken wrap. The food had no taste at all . Just chicken and lettuce . Nothing was seasoned. I asked if he could put a little rice in it and he just said no.. I wouldn't recommend going here for anything to eat. You'll get better wraps and food elsewhere..

    Mixed grill

The menu prices seem steep but they give huge portions. I ordered delivery through Uber eats and got the mixed grill entree and lahmacun pizza . I really wanted to try their bread because of all the positive reviews but couldn't find it as an option on the app. I ended up just asking for the bread on the side. The mixed grill ($32.95) came with chicken shish, lamb shish, lamb adana kebab, kofte kebab, doner, rice, bulgur, carrots, onions and parsley, fresh tomatoes, and grilled peppers. The portion was suitable for splitting between two hungry people or even three people. The adana, kofte, and doner were super flavorful and not overly salty. The chicken and lamb shish had awesome flavor but were on the dry side. The restaurant gave me 2 breads and the bread was so fluffy and soft. All the veggies were super fresh and the bulgur was tasty. I would order this again. The lahmacun pizza ($5.50) came with parsley, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and lemon. The bread was flaky and flavorful and everything tasted very fresh. This could honestly be a meal on its own if you're not super hungry. The menu is huge with various appetizers, entrees, and desserts to choose from. I can't speak about the in-person customer service but the delivery quality was excellent!

Turkish Döner Kebap Wrap that came with humus and a side salad & Lemon Chicken Soup with a side of fresh bread
    Melis A.

Ordered from Anatolia via Uber Eats to be delivered to the Residence Inn in the evening. Quick preparation and delivery, and special instructions were followed properly. Tried the Lemon Chicken Soup that came with a delicious fresh pita bread on the side, Turkish Ayran, Uludağ Gazoz, and got a great deal with buy one get one free Döner Kebap plate with humus and a side salad. I'm particularly picky on Turkish food and thought this was a great tasting meal and an awesome value. Would order from Anatolia again!

The very spicy pepper. They should put a warning label on it.

My son and I came here for lunch. It wasn't crowded, but there was a steady stream of sit-down and take-out customers. It was fairly quiet. We don't know much about Turkish food, but the waitress was patient. I had chicken shish and my son had lamb shish. They were both delicious and filling (my son couldn't finish his dish, so I helped!). Then we had rice pudding for dessert. My only regret was trying the pepper...

Lavash Grille - Cambridge, MA Total Score: 9/10…read more Lavash Grille in Cambridge delivers a Turkish and Mediterranean dining experience that feels both vibrant and deeply comforting. This is the kind of place that works beautifully for group outings, thanks to the big, long tables that make it easy to settle in, share plates, and actually enjoy the social side of dining. The sampler platters and mixed grill dishes are absolutely the way to go. Portions are generous, the variety is excellent, and everything we tried tasted fresh and well balanced. The hummus and baba ganoush were both standouts, packed with flavor and a great start to the meal. One of the biggest highlights was the manti. These delicate, bite sized dumplings with yogurt sauce were pure comfort food and easily one of the most memorable dishes of the night. The haydari (similar to Tzatziki) was another favorite. Rich, creamy, and incredibly flavorful, it's the kind of dip you keep reaching for long after you're full. For something a little different, the traditional Turkish coffee made with hot sand is such a fun experience and well worth ordering. Ending the meal with coffee and rice pudding felt like the perfect, cozy finish. On a practical note, I was genuinely happy there is some parking here, which is always a welcome bonus in Cambridge. Overall, Lavash Grille is a place I'd gladly return to. Great food, perfect for group settings, and an all around enjoyable dining experience.

They have a small parking lot off the side of the restaurant which is free. Inside, there is plenty of space. The service and staff are very nice. We got a lentil soup to share, manti and beef liver as appetizers. Everything tasted amazing. The manti could be a little softer. We also got coffee and tea. The tea was refilled throughout the time we were there which was a nice touch. For my main I got the chicken Adana and my friend got the lamb version. Both were grilled to perfection. Such simple ingredients but the meal was well balanced. The meat came with rice and some grilled/ pickled veggies. The only thing to note is that the bathroom is shared with the building and was out of toilet paper and was in bad condition.

All street parking and we had to circle around to find a spot so plan ahead. We got a red wine and the flawless victory cocktail. I got to try a couple wines before committing to a glass. My partner loved his cocktail. Super well balanced and really unique combo of flavors. Both drinks paired well with all our food too. Zucchini pancakes (2/5) - the only miss. The pancakes were not crispy at all and ate very mushy. The carrot curry was delish but all the flavors together with the raita didn't really do it for me. White bean hummus (4/5) - amazing flavor and the little sesame ring it comes with was yummy. The texture of the hummus could have been smoother though. Sugar snaps (5/5) - perfect sweet and salty balance and really great texture from the quinoa. Good creaminess too. Octopus souvlaki (5/5) - well charred octopus and tender. The flavors were rich in flavor. Yellow split pea was a nice creamy base. Revani snack cake (5/5) - we almost didn't get dessert but glad we did! It a citrus pound cake with a pineapple glaze and a spiced macadamia crunchy topping. Served chilled. Very yummy and not too heavy. Overall very happy we tried this place. Ironically, I found this place when I was looking up ice cream. They serve authentic Turkish ice cream, and it's been something I've been wanting to try. In addition to the ice cream, I ordered Manti (Turkish dumplings) and Uludag soda (which they say is a Turkish ginger ale). I loooooooooved the Manti. While the dumplings were filled with meat, the dish overall felt light since each dumpling is like the size of a quarter. The dumplings had a nice chew, and the sauces made the dish rich yet creamy. The Uludag soda was definitely much lighter than a ginger ale. Tasted like a light citrusy drink, and it's less sweet than American sodas. The ice cream had a nice pull and chew, although it didn't look as stretchy as Turkish ice creams I've seen. Nice amount of pistachio flavor throughout. I came on a weekday lunch, so there was ample seating inside. Ordering is done via a QR code on your table or on a tablet stand in the middle of the restaurant. Okay, for a solo adventure I chose the bar and yes, they took me to a seat there. Looking at the menu I knew it was tapas style going in but before I could really start looking at anything the bar tender said, "or, there's a chef tasting." Okay, stop there, let's just do that and add the meat and fish option. To start was the Strawberry Fattoush - Little Gems, Cucumber, Pomegranate Vinaigrette, Pita Chips, Sumac - amazing. Next was the Warm Buttered Hummus - Basturma, Tomato, Black Olive. Still doing great! Then the Fried Mussels - Hot Peppers, Turkish Almond Tarator Sauce. Can't say I have ever had those before! The Spinach Falafel - Tahini, Beet Tzatziki, Pickles was next. Though you could roll it up, eating it that way was pointless. Back to the knife and fork. After that was the Grilled Asparagus - Sorrel Aioli, Puffed Black Rice, Bergamot Honey. Probably the most familiar looking dish of the night. Then the Sultan's Delight - Tamarind Beef, Smoky Eggplant Purée, Basil. Aamazing! Still going after that was the Swordfish - Nettle Freekah, Red Pepper Tahini, Buttermilk Fried Fiddle Heads. Then finally the Turkish-Style Profiteroles - Brown Butter Crème, Sesame Caramel Cashews, Halva with something else on the side. All of this with a Shepherds Pilsner which I believe is my first brew from Palestine. Who knew that was possible? Needless to say, the meal was quite an adventure. Definitely worth it. Oh, Oleana! Tucked…read moreaway in Cambridge, Oleana is a cozy Mediterranean restaurant serving small plates. My partner and I managed to snag a last-minute reservation on a Tuesday night, and even at 9 p.m. the restaurant was still lively. Between the beautiful decor and warm atmosphere, it made for a great date night spot, though it was admittedly a bit dim (apologies in advance for the photo quality!) Between the two of us, we ended up ordering quite a few dishes: Whipped Feta (4/5): This was good, though I was hoping for a stronger roasted pepper flavor. Nothing wrong with it, but it didn't quite stand out. Interestingly, we overheard the table next to us mention the same thing, so maybe this one's a bit hit or miss. Spinach Falafel (4/5): Another solid dish. It was bright, colorful, and fresh, though a little messy to eat. Our waiter rather bluntly told us to "just wrap it and bite," which caught us a little off guard, but it was good nonetheless. Fatteh (4.5/5): Our favorite appetizer of the night. The creamy roasted cauliflower paired so well with the crispy pita, and I especially loved the sweetness the onions brought to the dish. Sultan's Delight (5/5): As everyone else says, this is the one to order. The beef was incredibly tender and rich. In hindsight, I almost wish we'd had the potatoes from the Adana Kebab to eat alongside it because they would've been the perfect accompaniment. Vermont Quail Kebab (5/5): Tied with the Sultan's Delight as our favorite entrée. The quail was juicy, well-spiced, and surprisingly easy to eat. I'd absolutely order this again. Adana Kebab (4/5): By this point, I think we were simply getting full. The kebab itself was good, but not nearly as memorable as the other meat dishes. Ironically, the potatoes and peppers that came with it might have been my favorite part--they would've paired perfectly with the Sultan's Delight. Baked Alaska (4.5/5): Delicious. The toasted meringue paired wonderfully with the coconut ice cream, though we were a little mixed on the passionfruit caramel, which came across slightly burnt and more acidic than expected. After a while the meringue did become quite sweet, so we ended up pairing some with the Muhallebi. Dark Chocolate Muhallebi (3.5/5): Yes...we ordered two desserts. I was mostly drawn in by the kaymak ice cream, but the Muhallebi itself was almost completely unsweetened. I'm usually all for desserts that aren't overly sweet, but this one leaned more savory than I expected. We actually ended up adding some leftover meringue from the Baked Alaska to balance it out. Looking back, given both our appetites (and our wallets), I think we would've been perfectly happy just ordering the Baked Alaska. Overall, Oleana was a lovely spot for a date night. While it didn't quite live up to the lofty expectations I'd built up from all the praise, we still had a really enjoyable meal. Our main waiter was kind, and I appreciated that the dishes came out in rounds, giving us plenty of time to eat and chat. The meat dishes were definitely the highlights for us, but overall there's a lot to like here.
