We decided to try Ancestry, and were delighted! We went there on a Sunday, about 12;30pm, and it wasn't crowded at all. Now for the food. I got a root beer and the BLTC (bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese sandwich). Yum. They brew their own root beer, and it's lightly sweet, not too carbonated. The sandwich was excellent and flavorful. The sourdough bread was tasty, too. I got the house fries, which were really good. My husband got the grilled chicken sandwich and added bacon to it. He loved it. He had the sweet potato waffle fries, which were good, but I liked the plain fries better, myself. To drink, he got a porter, which I even liked (although I don't usually like beer). Haven't been in to Tualatin in a while and found this place on yelp. Really good beer selection. Simple food menu, burgers and sandwiches but they are really good. Had a bbq bacon kobe burger that was excellent. My wife had a turkey sandwich that I snuck a few bites of that was also excellent. We really enjoyed the atmosphere as well. Good beer, but disappointed that they were out of the Best Coast. Fried fish was excellent and abundant but a bit of constructive criticism: if you are going to up-charge $2 to sub salad for fries, please make it more than four bites of lettuce. Not a good value. The food and beer was great. My husband and I both had the burger and fries and they were tasty. The reason they get 4 stars is the awkward wait that happened. We walk in after about 3 other small parties who all turned away when they were told the wait was an hour. Well, we thought oh well, we'll wait. We grabbed a beer and hung out. The restaurant started to clear, but we never got seated. Remember, no one is in front of us... they said a party of 20 was coming in, but there were more than 20 seats open and two large ten tops that were near vacating as well. First the good. The burgers and beer were excellent. The space has an industrial vibe which is pretty cool, nice views, brewery is all visible from the dining area. Now the bad. The service was terrible. First beer ordered took about 15 minutes to arrive, food was fairly prompt and again excellent burger. Asked for Ketchup, she forgot....Had to get our own. Asked for another round of beers, she brought two and never brought the third until we asked twice for the third beer. I started watching the servers and I honestly think the others were pretty good but we were unfortunate in that our server seemed completely lost...Receipt says our server was Alyssa A. On a side note the place was not busy at all, 7 tables occupied with 3 servers. 10/14/16 Since my first review I have been back two times. They have their wait staff issues figured out completely. The servers are fast, friendly, and energetic. This is a great place with fantastic food. I have changed my rating to 5 stars and look forward to frequenting this establishment regularly. read more

Good beer options/variety, decently priced, very attentive staff. I had the Philly cheesesteak with beer cheese added, and I do have to say that it had way too many onions for my liking. It was overpowering the entire sandwich.... meat was good on it however, but still. Also wish they had more than like 6 seats at the bar.... but we had a nice meal and overall liked it. We have been coming to this restaurant since they were only selling growler fills. They partnered with PDX sliders for a while and the food was great. They no longer partner with PDX Sliders BUT the food is still absoultely amazing and the beer.... The beer is amazing as well. This place always hits the spot and always has friendly staff on hand to take your orders. If you're on the fence about giving them a try, I would highly recommend them to anyone. Nothing but great things to say! Our waiter was amazing and so was everyone else we talked to - very friendly and lots of energy! The beer is great and there's a wide selection (I hate how everywhere in Portland seems to be 9 IPAs and nothing else). I was bummed they were out of the wheat but liked the cider and the Belgian blonde. Fun place with great vibes. Not too crowded for a Friday night, but we weren't there very late. I was very impressed by the food! We had the pulled pork (delicious, maybe the best I've ever had, especially with those dipping sauces!), fries (a little salty, but delicious with the sauce, and my ideal shape - thin and perfectly crispy, but not too crispy. My friends didn't think they were too salty at all, so that was just me), and I had the most incredible burger. I don't remember what it was called, but it had goat cheese and strawberry jam in it or something. I got it because it sounded unique and interesting, and that was a great decision! I don't know who thought to put those things on a burger, but I am still having dreams about it. The beers were also very good, I had the Peach Wheat which had a really good flavor, but to be honest I don't remember it very well because that burger made everything else pale in comparison. read more

My husband and I went for an early dinner yesterday as he has wanted to try it since they opened. The food is pretty darned good, but the service is sloooow and the benches against the wall are totally unconfortable. The beer is great. There is a wide variety with something for everyone including ciders. The food from PDX Sliders is delicious but (way) overpriced. A (very) bad part is the service. Namely, they aren't equipped / experienced enough to handle anything but a handful of people at a time. In short, if you are hungry for a burger, go to Wendy's or Dickie Jo's then head over to Ancestry for some great beer or ciders. However, if more than half of the tables are full, go somewhere else, unless you want to ......wait......and ...... wait ...... and wait to some more. There are so many other beer options with better service that this place should be bypassed if you don't want to waste a bunch of time waiting .... and ..... waiting. read more

My wife and I stopped in on May 28th and business was booming! We ordered Sellwood burgers and fries with a flight of four brews: Belgian Blonde, Best Coast IPA, Dark Irish (Nitro) and Oat Stout (Nitro). We enjoyed the sports bar environment, good utilization of space, and the brews were refreshing. I may have to return for a growler of the Best Coast. The televisions provided subtitles and the noise levels permitted conversation. Service was very good under the circumstances - every table was occupied and every parking space was filled, so I'd say they're off to a fine start. The roll-up door was open, providing good ventilation. I'm very pleased, so I look forward to stopping in again. A place like this deserves to prosper. read more

Food was good, the experience wasn't. They asked if we wanted to sit outside and when it started to get dark they said they couldn't turn on the lights. Our party of 15 was left outside eating in the dark by the light of our phone lights. They should have closed the outside area at a certain time if they knew that they couldn't plug the lights in. read more

First off, the hostess is doing too much as she was mostly away from her station bussing tables. After waiting a half hour, even after three parties left, we were finally seated. Fried food was heavy, burger was actually pretty good. My husband enjoyed the anniversary beer. Unfortunately our waitress was behind and forgot to bring the second beer we ordered. No water refills. No drink offered for our toddler son. Overall this was a pretty disappointing experience and felt like a waste of our Saturday night. read more
