Yet another McMenamins location I am writing a review for. There will be many more to come as we work through getting our passport stamps for all of the locations. As this location is categorized it is indeed a Brewpub. So you will get pubfare type food. And that's okay as the food is pretty solid with all of the locations we have been to so far. But unlike the McMenamins hotels that have more than one restaurant with different menus on site the variety of options may seem a bit slim. The Oak Hills location is kind of in a strip mall and some locations are. The quirkiness that comes with some McMenamins locations is a bit more subdued here and again some locations are just like that. I got their cheeseburger with a side salad and that was a satisfying meal. I also didn't want any beer so I got a cocktail instead. That was very refreshing and pleasant after having a frustrating afternoon. I managed to get a picture if my drink but my phone's batteries were so low I only managed to get a picture of the drink and not the meal or surroundings. My phone had it too. read more

Food was pretty good. Service was not great. Took 25 minutes to get rung out after I put my credit card with the check. Server just disappeared from face of earth, then ignored me for another 10. She seems to have many responsibilities, but I just wanted to leave. Interior is nice enough. A couple table outside also. The soup of the day was great, as was the brewers salad. I have a real pet peeve on being forced to hang around when I'm ready to leave. read more

Service was extra friendly and helpful. It made the visit very memorable. I ordered the Cobb salad with grilled chicken. Everything about the food was super tasty and the high quality chicken cooked perfectly. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the lettuce was dry, wilted and warm. A sign that it was either too old or not stored properly to maintain its crispness. I'm hoping this was just a fluke and not their typical quality for their salad because I will definitely try them again. read more

Watched game 3 of the 2018 World Series here, and couldn't have had a better food experience. Located in a strip mall with plenty of parking, quality customer service with a friendly staff. Giant screen televisions. Tables have enough room for a date, friends, family, or a business meal. They have their own brewery onsite. I had a really good burger and it was cooked perfectly. Some of my favorite fruit ciders are here: pomegranate and blackberry. I had the fish and chips in my first visit here. The fish was flaky and fresh. The batter was delicious and perfect crispness. Will come back to try the other entrees. read more

We came here for treats, food is cheaper than other locations which is nice. We got a Black and Tan Brownie with scoobie snacks, they were as amazing as always! The staff was super kind and this location is super interesting, the brewer barrels were out in the open and they looked soooo cool! Also i found googly eyes on the light switch in the bathroom which i thought was super fun. :) read more

It's a McMenamins, right? They are all different but also a lot the same so it's predictable what you are going to get. Like an attentive wait staff that really hustles. You won't wait long for your grub and your pint glass refills will show up before the glass you are working on is empty. I typically go there alone. It's a nice neighborhood bar. But it's also great for groups. They will get you in and out quickly if that's what you want but you can also nurse a single beer all night long and no one will bother you. Why you'd want to actually do that is another matter. The patrons there are typically pretty nice but I go there for a quiet beer, not to socialize. I'm not wild about their food but if I am hungry enough there are a few things on the menu that are ok. I go there for the beer which is excellent if not insanely expensive. Since I got on the healthy lifestyle kick a few years ago beer is a rare treat for me. VERY rare. But, like donuts, if I'm going to have something with tons of sugar and is bad for me it better be a really good donut. Or a really good beer. Which is what you'll get at McMenamins. read more

This McMenamins is not one of their "destination" locations (converted from an old theater, school, spa or the like) and doesn't look like much from the outside (in a strip mall) and is on the small side. That's the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars, and I'm really ranking it against other McMenamins. But on its own, Oak Hills Brewpub is a great mellow gathering place with a chill vibe, and the food is the usual tasty McMenamins fare. We grabbed a cozy booth and my boyfriend had a Communication Breakdown burger with tots (two thumbs up) and they made me an "off the menu" Maria's Masterpiece which was delicious. They of course have the full selection of excellent beers they're famous for, as well. We also split a yummy slice of coconut cream cake for dessert (they have new ones each day). read more

I'm going to go 4-stars because of the staff; which I rarely do at a McMenamins, yet here we are. We were very happy with all the servers, very friendly, and service was super quick. Everyone that came to our table (at around 2 p.m. on a Sunday) was super friendly, and just made the whole experience great. Usual Mcmenamins fare - of course: tots. Just like with other locations, they have some of their own menu items. I found the beer list pretty long, with guest taps as well. read more

Four of us had a late lunch at this location. Our server was Paul. He was very kind and attentive. Our bar items (Portland hard cider and Ruby Red) were enjoyed the Greek chicken gyro was delicious and huge! Don't forget to get the Cajun tots! Sooo good! read more

i have always loved going to mcmenamins. each location has its own character but if you are like me, and have visited many of the different locations, you can notice a lot of subtle similarities beyond the menu. the beer is great and anything pairs well with their cajun tots and ranch. read more

I had heard a lot about the McMenamins brand and this watering hole was close to my hotel. A work colleague and myself decided to drop in for a couple of late evening drinks. First, I was very surprised by how empty the place was. I expected a much bigger crowd. I won't complain though. Sometimes it's nice to have the playground to yourself. Great selection of beers and craft cocktails. In true McMenimans fashion the place is decorated in a zany way. The service was pretty slow, but knowledgable and friendly. read more

To be clear, this 2 star rating is ONLY for this location, not for all McMenamins. The food here is the same as all McMenamins, the 2 star is given for the BAD service. I went there for lunch in the middle of the week (around 12:30). It was about half empty when we got there. The waiter got our order in decent amount of time although he didn't know the details of the special burger. Now the bad part.. It was 40 minutes (!) before we got the burgers and the waiter didn't even apologize after we inquired about it. It wasn't even that crowded! read more

Good natured folks! These lovelies came to my rescue after I had lost my apartment keys. I was locked out of my apartment close to midnight on a weekday. I guess I should be in Portland instead of Beaverton if I'm really trying to go for some Pac Northwest food. Because I didn't eat too healthy on this business trip. And coming here to McMenamins continued the streak. My hosts were kind enough to take me out to dinner and we ended up here. Now I don't know the area very well, but the route I took to get here took me through some very small residential streets. Commonplace? I'm not quite sure. Again, lots of great selections of brews. The variety of food wasn't that great and it might have just been too much greasy food for the week, but I wasn't blown away. Choosing between burgers, pizza, etc., wasn't ideal, so I'm probably not giving the most unbiased review here. Service was decent from what I saw. Returned after moving away 20 yrs ago. As wonderful as the day it opened. Always amazing people. Jaime quickly made us feel at home again.

The Oak Hills Brewpub has long since been a staple for a late evening get-together with friends. I think this Brewpub is making an effort to become more personal like a true Public House. I feel welcomed when I arrive, the staff has made a point to know my friends and I by name. If you are looking for get in-get out type restaurant, this is not the place. But if you're looking for a laid back atmosphere that encourages socializing and tipping a pint - then this is your neighborhood pub. I read of others complaining of the beer selection - and they seem to have the usual Mcmennamins selection and then some. My goto is always "what's on Nitro?" On top of that, they have an expanding selection of Whiskies form McMennamins distilled spirits to bourbon, rye, and scotch. There is always something to satisfy my palette. read more

I disagree with the trend of the previous reviewers, a lot of people are mentioning limited food options and bad service. ANd, I on the other hand, was impressed by new food options that I didn't see at other places (BBQ Salmon salad or sandwich! And fish tacos were pretty exciting menu options, that other locations do not have.). In addition, I went there with a group and spaced signing my credit card, and physically taking my credit slip. So, when I came back before close, my server worked with me for the easiest method of still using the charge and including a tip on there! He was very helpful, and friendful. Earlier on, our food and drink service was really fast, especially considering I was with a group of about 6 people on a Saturday night and we were all having separate orders. For obvious reasons, I prefer the "Destination McMenamins" with pitch & putt golf, and soaking pools, but when in Oak Hills, for food and drinks this McMenamins is my top pick! read more

I only go when people i know, suggest it at the last minute. Been to many locations over the past 20 years. For a McMenamins, the fries were great!!! It's also one of the few McMenamins where the burgers are large patties of beef. A rarity these days. My burger was delicious and juicy. The staff were quick with service and humor. I enjoyed this out-of-the way McMenamins. One of their gems. read more

Walked in and were told the wait for food was an hour. It's Sunday at 1pm and the place is mostly empty. Surprisingly unfriendly, as well.

This place has really improved its staff and timing, seriously well done McMenamins! They also recently did a remodel which added more seating. This place is now a neighborhood regular for us and they really fixed some of the flaws. read more

Years ago, I used to think that the beers offered by McMenamins were "on the edge." Now, after being exposed to a plethora of microbrews, it turns out that Terminator Stout is just a very dry, slightly bitter, nearly flavorless black beer. Maybe, years ago, it was on the edge; now, McMenamins, it's time to step up your game. The mushroom burger was nearly as lifeless as the beer, and our tatted-up waitress gave the impression that she would rather be lots of other places. The Cajun fries were pretty good though, and saved this place from slipping into the Yelp Abyss. read more

Ordered a vodka cran here on a very slow Friday night (what did I expect it is Beaverton).. I think they forgot the vodka, I'm a slow drinker but I slurped it up in about two sips. We ordered chips and salsa, and I think it was the same stuff I have at home, so I was pretty disappointed. After that our server didn't come back for a while, and we just gave her the card to close. Strip Mall Location: I am really disappointed with this location. I stopped in today for a drink and actually had difficulty finding a table that wasn't already filled with dirty dishes. There apparently was only three employees working. One guy in the kitchen, another guy splitting his time between the kitchen and waiting on tables and a petite dark haired girl with tattoos that was more interested in her phone than the customers. I had to go to the kitchen and ask her to bring me my bill. When she did, I tried to give her cash on the spot but she just set the bill on the table and walked away. I also noticed other customers having the same difficulty and by judging by some of the other reviews my experience is not an isolated one. This location is giving Mcmenamin's a bad name. They should seriously look at a staffing change and possibly a management as well. read more

This location gets a star for customer service because that is really the only good thing about this place. Food is mediocre. Tots are good. You have to do the Cajun though. The beers they have on tap are rarely to my liking. I am an IPA girl and the ones they have taste watery or tart to me. But beer is more on preference. I have found much better selection and beer at the Imbrie location plus it has a very cool atmosphere. I suggest there instead. read more

This is by far one of my favorite mcmenamins in town! The service is usually pretty good and the food is decent. Sometimes it can be bit cold inside- so remember to bring a jacket!! Other that that it is pretty good for mcmenamins. Just wish happy hour had some more selection. read more

The female manager at this location is very rude and unprofessional. Service is slow and food is way overpriced considering the quality. Beer is good but does not make up for the bad service here. I recently moved to the area and thought this place would be my go-to spot (5 minute walk from my front door). Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this establishment. read more

This is the 2nd time we've been to this bar. Both times we've had pretty bad service. Both were from the female manager. This time, she was rude to my girlfriend while I was in the restroom and then was friendly when I got. That's just the attitude, the service was just as poor. We just ordered a drink but the people next to us at the bar who had food were forced to wait to get their beer. Not the worst service of the 53 McMenamins out there, but certainly in the bottom five. UPDATE: I have changed the rating from 1 star to 2 stars. I was contacted directly by the manager of Oak Hills apologizing and asking for more details. While it doesn't change our particular situation, any establishment that cares that much about what their customers think deserves recognition for their efforts. read more
