Awesome little store with everything you need right in tiny Anchor Bay! The real stars here are the Sandwiches!! Owner Barbara makes them fresh daily and they are amazing - and huge for $7! We stock up on several sammys to-go whenever we are nearby because they are just that good and fresh and yummy. We all love her deviled eggs as well - bacon and regular deviled eggs are awesome! Use to shop here for 16 yrs when I lived just down the road and a few weeks ago, went back down memory lane when on vacation in the area. Sure the old faces are gone, but not Husch Gewurztraminer wine! SCORE! I do not think I have seen this wine in any other store except there, and amazed they still stock it! It was every bit as good as always and brought home the last 2 bottles on the shelf! The store still stocked beautifully with all kinds of quality wholesome foods. We were staying in Point Arena and stopped here for veggies to cook at the cabin. My husband is vegan and I'm vegetarian. Traveling through towns like this we don't expect to find much for us besides fruits a vegetables. We stopped here after a hike in the area. The market in Point Arena was under renovations, and just figured we grab some basics. Well we were THRILLED to see how many vegan options they offered. Beyond Meat, Field Roast sausages, Chao Cheeses, Miyokos Butter, Daiya ice cream and pies! Oh my! We grabbed some sweet treats in addition to the other things we went in for. Located I a strip just off the main highway making it convenient to get to. This store exceeded my expectations for being in a small town. They do have limited items on fresh produce, but that makes sense based on population and only stocking what you estimate selling. They did have more variety of condiments, wine, staples and even dry good bins. Staff members were helpful and kind. Be sure to check the store hours be they do close earlier than commercial grocery stores (7 or 8 pm). read more

This little store packs in quality. I am constantly surprised by both the variety and quality of items they have here. The meats are consistently top notch. Respectable produce. Great local wine selection. Their deli Turkey is so good. Got their burrito yesterday on a lark, it was great. I generally don't consider small stores like this for anything but common staples, but its quickly becoming my first stop rather than my last minute. Friendly and accommodating service. Well run business with intelligent product selection. If they could solve the coast drought on crusty loaves of bread, I'd be there every day! Maybe one day I'll come in and find a loaf of acme waiting, or maybe get Frannys to start cranking loaves as they can't do anything wrong. Until then, still a 5 star store. read more

Great little store in a little town that really has a lot of different things to offer! It seems to be a bit odd (mix of some pretty junky stuff next to some really great organic, locally farmed products), but if you dig around, it's not hard to find the gems. They have a well-curated selection of local wines, including many favorites from the Anderson Valley (kudos for carrying Husch wines, one of my favorite wineries). My friends and I were able to get everything we needed to cook in our Sea Ranch vacation rental. I really wish the owners had been there when we were shopping there. Looking at the pictures of them, they seem like the sort of warm people that this sort of store really deserves. The kids who were working at the cashier station seemed to have little or no interest in the type of specialty products that this store sells. It's a shame, really. People should take pride in a store that is committed to stocking local, organic produce and products; these kids seemed to know nothing of it. Thankfully, enough of us were well-versed enough to be able to grab the high quality items that the store stocks and really make use of the store's excellent selection. I'm glad that Anchor Bay has such a store in it. read more

Lots of good stuff to be had: the usual snacks and wide array of beverages, along with a large selection of Gluten Free items! Plus the person running the register was very helpful: I needed to make a phone call, but being on AT&T there is no service in this part of the coast road. We have been coming to anchor bay for years (slowly starting to feel like kind of locals) . We used to rarely shop at the store because it was a limited selection at elevated prices, and no meat products. My family has a house on the hill behind the store and we always drove to Gualala to buy groceries. Recently new owners took over. They have a small meat/chicken/ sometimes fish selection and they are all of great quality. My family has gluten issues ( 1 allergy and 1 celiac ) so we always feel we have to bring everything to smaller towns to accommodate this necessary diet restrictions. Not here, this store has stocked ample GF foods and sometimes we even find new GF items to try. Thank you to the new owners who have really stepped up this gem of a local store!! read more

This little market has everything I need. Great wines, cheeses, deli, fresh veggies. Knowing that there is great food available in the this tiny banana belt climate town makes me want to move there every time I visit. It is like a mini-Alameda Marketplace but without the traffic. I really liked the selection of organic and natural products but the service was outrageous. I asked the clerk if they carried gift bags she said no! I went to check out and complimented her on the store but she either racist or displeased that I was a tourist, she was extremely rude! I really felt that she was racist towards Asians & from the reviews below it doesn't seem like the tourist part. It's disgusting that people still feel this way. They went so far out of their way to help us - total strangers to them - it was just unbelievable. We are so grateful to them. This is where I stopped around dinner knowing I needed something, but not knowing what. I wandered the aisles for 10 minutes considering putting something together from what they had. They had hot chili, perhaps left over from lunch? I decided to gamble on it... and WON. It was the closest thing to my Dad's chili that I ever had. The first few spoon-fulls seemed to make everything right with the world. This was probably due to the fact that I was hungry and a bit road-weary; but still. Everything looked decent. Sometimes it's hard to find places in rural areas where you want to eat prepared food. They looked good. I don't come this way that often so it's hard to say what it would be like as a regular grocery store; but I thought the hot soups/chili deserved some praise. read more
