This store is very close to Salt Point SP. They have brewed coffee, a big variety of cold drinks, ice, drinking water, meat and produce and packaged foods. There was a selection of items you might need while camping. The man there was friendly and the prices, while higher than my usual store, were not outrageous. read more

We stopped in while staying nearby in Jenner. It was 4th of July weekend so the campgrounds were full (across the street) but thankfully only a few other people in the store when we went inside. It is VERY small and I agree with someone who commented there is only room for maybe 8 at a time. Nice they have grocery staple items such as pancake batter, syrup, and other essential items. I thought maybe I was experiencing vertigo because I felt myself leaning but then my husband assured me the floor was leaning. :-) Very nice family at the register - very impressed their young son was ringing up the totals :-D Ample parking across the street. read more

Ocean Cove Grocery - Ocean Cove Store. July 2021 - Grocery Near Me - Jenner, California

A small general store that is associated with Ocean Cove Campground on Rte 1 but is well-used by the general public. Plenty of parking in a large lot across the street. I did a Yelp search for "grocery," in this area and this place never showed up. Hopefully my review should fix that problem. This was the closest grocery by far to our camp site at nearby Salt Point State Park, so it came in handy. On various outings different member of our group stopped here to buy wine, eggs, cocoa, milk, and even ice cream cones (the pre-made, frozen kind). The interior of the store is extremely tiny. 2 stars for being so tiny that you can't move around with more than 5 people inside; that, and variety was a bit limited. I'll add one more star for keeping the prices very reasonable. We were grateful not to be gouged. After checking the website, I see that this store has been here in one form or another since the 1880's. Pretty amazing. They claim to fill scuba tanks on weekends - a great service. read more

Great little place friendly people and all the things you might have forgot to bring.

They had everything we needed (and quite bit more) while we were camping across the street at the Ocean Cove Campground. The refrigerated cases contained a good variety of drinks (adult and regular), grillin' meats, milk, cheeses, eggs, and various pre-made packaged foods. They also had a good selection of snack foods and dry ingredients. If you forget a few things for your trip you should be just fine, and I suspect the locals find this place useful as well. I'll second Dan's review for the good prices this grocery store - they totally avoid gouging you just because they're the only grocery in the area. Their bread and booze prices were the same as at our local store in San Mateo, and they only charged $6 for a good sized bundle of dry firewood. read more

What a marvelous magical place. On the Sonoma coast, camping, fishing, diving , hiking. They have it all. The best front porch to sit on anywhere on the coast. A very friendly, very small store is the epicenter of the place. Shooting the breeze on the porch with locals and travelers is not to be missed. read more

It's tiny, but well-stocked. It has a little bit of everything, though it's more on the canned food end of the spectrum than the grocery end. They cater to campers, so it makes sense. Mostly it has two stars because the lady behind the counter was rude to us and forgot to give us our eggs. While the prices were very reasonable, I would recommend stopping by the safeway on your way out of town, as she suggested we could have done. read more

This store packs more in its little space than you could imagine. They have just about anything you need. Very friendly and smiling faces greet you when you enter. Helpful folks, too. One employee even carried a box of 4 or 5 bags of ice to the campsite across the street for my 90 year old grandfather. What service! read more

Decided to take a day trip up the coast last weekend in my old Miata. Stopped at Ocean Cove Grocery while heading north because they looked like a busy, hoppin' little store with plenty of customers, and we needed a cold drink and a restroom. Yes, their restroom is a porta-potty. But it's one of those oversized, luxury ones that's wheelchair accessible, too! (If that's important for you to know.) Loved the outhouse camouflage, and ~BONUS~ it was pretty darn clean! There was plenty of parking across the street in the lot, and I could see that the store is in a prime spot to pick up snacks and supplies if you're camping at the campground right there, or a little farther north at Salt Point Park. Lots of customers running in and out. While heading back south on Hwy 1, the Miata's transmission started slipping, and we limped along 'til we saw the O.C. Grocery store again. Hoping against hope they just might surprise us and stock something crazy like transmission fluid, we stopped again. No, they didn't stock transmission fluid - but the guys knew we would never make the elevation climb back to Jenner, and they were really helpful, volunteering to search the storage shed(s) for anything that might keep us on the road. Against all odds, they found an additive for the transmission! Not only that, but in their small "automotive" section of the store, they have little paper cone funnels... A very thoughtful detail, which you can really appreciate if you've ever tried pouring in fluids w/o one! Not only did they not charge us, but as we were in their parking lot with the hood raised, a local guy pulled up to make sure we weren't broken down, and gave us advice on how to coax the car up the hills. Super nice guys in the area, whether they're working for Ocean Cove, or just stopping by there to buy things. We really appreciated the community feel and all their help. We picked up a few snacks, too - Just in case we did end up stranded further down the road. But we made it - And we'll certainly make a point of stopping back by there to patronize them again the next time we're on Hwy 1. read more
