Came out for a tub faucet leak. I provided the part, a cartridge. Plumber changed out cartridge and that did not correct problem. Original cartridge still looked like new but bc they changed it out they still charged me $265.00 and they kept my original cartridge valued at $200 or more that didn't even need to be changed. Then I was told it MIGHT be the valve that needs to be fixed and was quoted an additional $1200. I didn't feel confident they new what the problem was to be fixed. I've got other quotes and so far all have been less to repairs a valve. read more

I understood from reviews here that there would be a charge to come out to give an estimate, it was $65. Dakota was on time. The purpose of this visit was to determine the house system with 2 existing water heaters in one house and another system in our guest house, water softeners for both and an RO system for the main house. I showed him the layout and the clear problems left by other plumbers as well as a new water heater I had bought, asking if it was the right one. He said it would be easy to determine the answers to all my questions and gave me verbally the sales pitch for about $13K of equipment he said he could install immediately. I asked for written information with the options he discussed and he agreed to send, I paid him and he left. But he only sent me a proposed invoice for the items he wanted me to buy. I politely texted him for the information for the house system and the model numbers and such for the items he recommended, and asked if it would be another charge for him to come out to get those answers. He wanted to chat on the phone, he said the system "should be" this or that. I stayed polite as he tried several times to faff me off. I didn't want a chat, I wanted the actual information on my house set up. Which heater serves which bathrooms? How can we determine the GPM for the tankless heater if we dont know what it serves? I was willing to pay for another service call. He was irritated but asked when he could come back with no charge. I said sure and gave him dates within days. He wrote a long text saying how "empathetic" he has been and how he's given me options some nonsense about not being able to do better over text and backhandedly fired me as a client. No return date. At least he said he would refund my $65. So I am learning about these plumbers in San Antonio. They just want to sell you their equipment, they dont have the confidences in their products or service to answer relevant questions. From reviews it looks like they may actually do good work and install good items, but I'll be doing my own research on the items and using plumbers who will answer questions. read more

I'm giving 2.5 stars bases on Yelp's description of the stars. I will recommend to folks where cost is not an issue. Gist: $540 ($490 with Military Discount) to replace a Pressure Reducing Valve. The job took 1 hr from knock on the door to payment. So that is 85.00 for the part and $405/hr labor (w/ fuel & prorated business costs). Call for quote before replacing PRV if you have the following: Jack hammer sound when flushing any toilet or running any faucet. I took the steps to clear a water hammer but the problem continued. Cons: - Cost (Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me) - Plays word games when doing reputation management ----------- *Response to Owner comments*: Your guy was great, he had the problem diagnosed as I was describing it. I'm guessing because he had the new part in his car that this is a fairly common issue. Is this the first time you have replaced a PRV valve in the new residential Alamo Ranch Area? No, probably not. Valve was 8 inch below the surface and easily accessible. He knew this was a quick job but I didn't. I asked how long it takes on average and he said "I don't know, we have to dig". I asked him how much that part normally runs and he said he "didn't know because you don't buy from Home Depot." Average cost w/ labor online in 350. Add the 350 plus the 65.00 you charge for the visit without service, that is 415. It was worth it, at that point, to spend the 75$ just to have it done now. Again, I didn't know the cause before you came out, otherwise I would have compared quotes. I would prefer that in the future you ask a fair price for jobs you have a good understanding of, not the "I don't know, maybe it could cost 1 to 3 hour price". That is the difference between 2.5 (ok) and 5 stars (great). Wow! Wow! I couldn't be more pleased with the wonderful jobs Brandon and EB did at my home today. They arrived when they said they would and were gone 45 minutes later. The guts in the toilet tank has been replaced and the hose bib outside replaced. They were very polite and considerate of my COVID-19 protocols and practiced their own as well. So I called them out because my faucet was leaking. Their technician came out, he was really nice and he also recommended that in addition to fixing my faucet I would need to fix something else that's messing with my water pressure. $1400 later, my faucet is still leaking. Same technician came out, still leaking. They told me it was the faucet I bought and that I would need to get another one. I did and they installed it, still leaked a bit, I asked them for other plumbers to come then they came out and did something else and it finally stopped leaking. No refunds or anything which I feel like if my old faucet and the new faucet leaked maybe the problem wasn't my faucet but they would say it was the faucets fault and not them. Well since this situation I've called them to check out the same faucet because of the hot water not heating up as fast as it did before, they told me they would have the supervisor contact me and he never did. Called Anchor for a minor urgency. They were very courteous and prompt. They went out to my parents house, assessed the situation and fixed the issue. Plumbing is never cheap so yes the bill was a little high but due to the issue I expected that.
