Disappointed with your business today. I went in with full intention on purchasing a TTR-230 today, pulled the bike out sat on it looked around noticed a sales man sitting at his desk. Got no greetings and no response out of anyone there even the parts counter. The salesman then got on his phone, se we walked around for 15mins waiting. I had been waiting weeks for an ATV to come in to purchase. I was calling each week talking with Thomas to see if it had come in. Yesterday I called and left several messages with no return phone call. I called again today to find that he sold it to someone who walked in the shop. I had asked at the very beginning to put down a deposit but was told it was not required. I was then told today if someone comes in with money then he was obligated to sell it to them. I think it is poor business practice to keep someone on a waiting list for an item and sell it underneath them. Especially when that someone else was calling regularly and had the money and was willing to pay. Do not rely on the promises of this store. read more

Funny story..... Never been to this yamaha but have been to most of the others in the state. Never been on yelp before either. I try to be patient and understanding in most situations but got a bad impression of these guys, even though they had the product I was looking for in stock whereas other local dealers did not. And I understand that the guys (and girls) who work at these stores often times have to have a lot of patience themselves as they deal with people with varying experience and knowledge levels and of course this applies to their staff too. But... I called in there this morning from the valley searching for a new motorcycle tire for my tw200 which I have had two years with 23 k plus miles on it. My main method of transportation and I am needing to move out of the place I am staying and get on the road, thus I choose not to order a tire through the internet myself to expedite the process. They said they had the tire in stock. I price checked it on the phone by asking the guy verbally over the phone about the price "what is it seventy eighty bucks like they have it listed online and at the other shops (local shops )" and he confirmed this. I than proceeded to borrow a car and drive into Anchorage to pick this thing up. Strapped for cash like a lot of people this time of year going into the summer I only had x amount of money with me. I got to the shop in Anchorage after a beautiful drive. And the guy at the desk, who confirmed he was the same guy I talked to over the phone less than an hour earlier. Whipped out the tire and said $125. WTF was my reaction. Thats a fifty dollar price difference right? Obviously taken aback by this but also trying to be reasonable I pointed out to this guy that we had just spoken on the phone about this earlier, and that I drove into Anchorage to get this tire for the bike and borrowed a car etc and only had x amount of money with me. And that the tire was listed for a dramatically reduced rate online (seventy something bucks) and that the other dealers said they could get the tire shipped to them and it would be in the eighty something dollar range. But I wanted to get the tire today, because I got pressure to move. And I only got x amount of money when I go in there. So with a quart of yamalube and the tire I get out of there for a hundred bucks. Which was all the money I had. Why the 125 quote at the desk and the 70-80 something dollars confirmation over the phone less than an hour before. And to reiterate this is a product that I had researched getting online etc. and the other local dealers didnt have it in stock but they too were quoting me prices in the seventy and eighty dollar range. So to make a long story short, I lied to this guy at the yamaha desk when he quoted me the 125 price and I told him I only had x amount of money. Typical negotiations i guess if this was anything but a accredited yamaha dealer lol. I mean you dont go into the grocery store or into wall mart and negotiate over prices right? The products are being sold for what they are listed as. But I lied to this guy. I had an extra five dollars on me. And so I made sure the trip to anchorage wasn't a complete waste because on my way out of town I stopped by the bikini barista place and got a TIGER chai lol read more

Do not buy from here, especially if you live outside Anchorage. I got a new snow machine from them. When parts broke on it left-and-right, they refused any warranty service unless I put the whole snow machine on a barge or airplane so their mechanics could inspect it. And they told me no replacements parts exist for my new snow machine (a recently discontinued model) - which a quick internet search reveals to be flatly untrue. read more

I had been trying to get my 1977 tt500 in to Anchorage Yamaha to have it timed and have the points set. The service manger Andrew said that they were very backed up and to call him in a couple of weeks to get on a waiting list to have my work done. I did that. But again got put off because they were so busy and that they were busy putting together new rigs .I had to pretty much beg to get them to put me on the list . Then I called in about two weeks and talked with the service manger Andrew said he would take it in but might be a month before they could take a look at it. After two months they called me and said they had many mechanics look at this bike and could not figure out how to set the timing even though I had also supplied them with a shop manual that should how to set the points as well as the timing . They charged me $297.00 and did not fix any thing .Being very frustrated I started on a search to find a mechanic in anchorage that might know how to set the timing up on a Yamaha motorcycle from the late1970s .I found a very good mechanic at Alaska Snowmachine Slavage. I talked with Brook one of the owners at the this shop. I told her the problem I was haveing and needed a mechanic that could work on my Yamaha she assured me her mechanic could do the work .I took it over to them on friday the 14th. I got a call and a video showing the bike running sunday the 16th from her mechanic Todd. All I can say is wow . In this day and age there is not very many people that go the extra mile like Brook and Todd did at Alaska Snomachine Slavage. I just don`t have words that convey the gratitude to there professionalism . I want to point out that I own two other yamaha snowmachines and have had numerous motor cycles going back 40 years all yamaha . Im going to sell all of them and buy a brand that the dealer will and can work on and that have trained mechanic that can look and follow a shop manual. Thanks Bernie read more
