I hope the owners see this! I absolutely hate going to this location. I try to avoid it if all possible! As for the pizza of course it taste good it's "&PIZZA" but the service that's comes with it is horrible. First off they NEVER have shrimp or atlease one thing you really want. The customer service is stinks. Someone is always on there period male or female, it's like they hate there job! Just this last time I just went all employees were on there phones in the back area as if we can't see themmeanwhile were standing there looking stupid. 5 mins or more went by before one person said "you got customers" the girl smacking her teeth like she mad?! Where the hell is the manager of this place? The lady taking our order rude AF, mad she hit yo add whatever topping I want like aint this my pizza? Anyways, get to cashier and there nowhere to be found! All the employees standing and watching us as we wait, wait, wait for there cashier to ring us up. You telling me none of them can touch the cash register. I was so happy to get out if there. I'm surprised I Kept my composure. Actually if it wasn't for a friend whose first time was me bringing them to & pizza I would've left. Guess that would've been 1 less customer that I'm Sure they care nothing about. Smh, very disappointed in this location.

Best &pizza in the city. Great quick service with good portions. A few downsides: the coupons almost never scan at this location, and the area can be a bit touch and go this far down on H Street. Street parking is hard to find as well.

I don't know what happened to this location but it has become the worst &pizza location in the district. I've come here so many form and the pizza was always amazing but this time out pizzas were carelessly made (very little ingredients used) and the pizzas somehow got burnt. If you want &pizza be sure to go to another location as this one needs some re-training.

Who comes to &pizza, and why? That Laptop girl comes when Excel SPREADSHEETS HER That Facebook girl comes when a friend DELETES HER Mother Earth comes here when mankind DEPLETES HER And if you're gonna come, come to &PIZZA That Olympian girl comes when a dude ATHLETES HER That leftover lover comes when someone REHEATS HER SARAH PALIN comes here when someone EXCRETES HER But if you're gonna come, come to &PIZZA That bodybuilder girl comes here when she COMPETES, YEAH That Rubik's Cube girl comes when somebody COMPLETES HER That fake reviewer comes when the CM ELITES HER And if you're gonna come, come to &PIZZA That tabloid girl comes when someone BROADSHEETS HER That gullible girl comes when someone DECEITS HER The mafia girl comes when someone CONCRETES HER But if you're gonna come, come to &PIZZA Ronda Rousey comes when a girl DEFEATS HER That Shepherd girl comes every time a sheep BLEATS HER That one-and-done girl comes when anyone REPEATS HER And no pizza is better than &PIZZA That N'Sync fangirl comes when someone BACKSTREETS HER That Joyce fangirl comes when I try to YEATS HER That nympho girl comes everytime someone GREETS HER But if you're gonna come, come to &PIZZA The ice queen comes here when the sun HEATS HER And dreams of it when any restaurant SEATS HER The girl at Mobil thinks I wanna SHEETZ HER But all I wanna do is take her to &PIZZA Beyonce comes here every time Jay CHEATS HER Rihanna comes here every time Chris B**TS HER My Dom GF comes when a rich client EATS HER But nothing in DC is better than &PIZZA What to get: Ice Water...... &Pizza. What not to forget: Your car keys....... &Pizza. Italians are famous for style, being skinny, soccer, gelato, pasta, mopeds, age gaps, crime levels, beautiful old cities....... &pizza. The last item on that list is literally the only thing that the US has been able to take, and improve upon. Most pizza snobs would say otherwise, but American Pizza is simultaneously very different from - and probably superior to - that in Italia. But surely not this place? Or so I thought. Indeed, I thought I knew it all. I came here expecting absolute crap hipster pizza - because every create your own fresh new take on Pizza has been absolutely atrocious... until now. My goodness I was just trying the wrong places wasn't I. They asked if I wanted salt on the pizza. I said no - pepperonly. This chain has finally woken me to the idea that create your own pizza can actually be amazing. All of the parts are sensational. All the toppings are delicious. They know exactly what they're doing and they do it very well. The bread is as remarkable as the sauce which is as wonderful as the spices they put on it. I asked where they got the idea for these sauces, and they said they cannot reveal the sauces of their sauces. My information came from a sauce whose identity will remain anonymous for his or her protection. Okay, service is lacking a little something but I would still come back here anytime and everytime I'm in DC, because I've honestly not had many pizzas this good in my life. You can see from the picture how enormous it is - but what's even bigger is the wonderful taste. Indescribably good, in fact. I was going to leave it there, but I've crust a line, and there's no going back, so I will continue. It's actually the best pizza in the DC area by a long distance - and although that's not saying much, it would actually be one of the best in any City it was located in. I will be back whenever in DC, and you should be, too. For a change, it's actually not hype. This local chain completely rules DC Pizza and rewrites the pizza rules. And if you use the bathroom, please tinkle into the bowl, not on the walls. I said they rewrote the pizza rules, not the pissing rules.

This pizza was just ok. I personally found the pizza a bit dry, could have used more sauce. The pesto was good though.

We arrived at 10:10 and the doors were locked. Called the restaurant and an employee said that they'd be open in a few minutes. A few minutes later, a man and an older woman said hi to us and went into a side door. Turns out that was the owner and his mom (the chef). They light incense in the restaurant and the odor is quite strong. I remember on Kitchen Nightmares, Gordon Ramsey yelling at someone for having scented candles because it messes with how the food tastes. Luckily, the food had enough flavor to overcome the incense. We ordered two meat combos and asked for them to give us some variety since I had never tried Ethiopian food before. The dishes came out with 16 items, with only one repeat. I can't really tell you what I ate since there were so many items, but I did really like the chicken and lamb. Very flavorful and just a fun experience from eating with our hands and the variety of options. One combo can easily feed two people. For our two adults and two kids, we had enough for leftovers. Honey wine was not my favorite thing, but the rest of the dining experience was very memorable. We were the only customers, so the owner came out and chatted with us for a while. Very friendly.

My Korean parents LOVED all the dishes! I thought everything was really yummy too, but personally, I wish it was spicier!! Mushroom Biryani (4.5/5) Solid biryani with a nice umami flavor from the mushrooms. I really like the bread top - you can dip it into any of the sauces you get. The fig raita is delicious too. Branzino (6/5) SO good. Beautiful, meaty fish. They didn't have the typical side that comes with it, so they replaced it with the cabbage, and it was honestly so good. I also really liked the sauce that came with it. Daal Burrata (2.5/5) Bland. It didn't really taste like much to me, and I don't think the creamy burrata added much to the dish. Chicken Tikka Masala (5/5) Yummy, tender chicken pieces. Probably the dish most similar to classic Indian food/takeout. Paneer Lasagna (3.5/5) Very unique dish! I liked the creamy sauce, but I wasn't a huge fan of the crunchy paneer bits. The saag flavor was also pretty light - I wanted MORE saag :) Very nice workers and a semi-casual interior. Service was good. Waiter helped us think through which dishes to order and how or why. Would recommend!! But don't expect your typical Indian takeout ;)

A recent visit to DC with some dear friends provided the perfect opportunity to check out their branch here and assess how it compares to the original. Happily, I found the food here essentially equivalent to what I sampled at the Atlanta locations, that is, excellent. We started with the sabzi and bread service, which pairs Rumi's excellent and freshly baked Persian style naan with fresh herbs and feta cheese, which makes for a light and refreshing start to the meal. Our appetizers comprised the lamb hummus, the fatoush salad, kashk-bademjan eggplant dip, and the duo of yogurts. All were great, with the classic, creamy eggplant and the tangy, cooling yogurt duo standing out for me personally. We ordered three entrees, including the lamb kebab, beef soltani combination, and the duck fesenjan stew. All the kebabs possessed a juicy texture, great seasoning, and had an excellent cook. The duck had a tangy sweet flavor profile that may not be for everyone but was nonetheless satisfying with rice. Speaking of the rices, the fluffy grains complimented all of our dishes well and we particularly enjoyed the dill-fava bean as well as the lentil-raisin renditions. Do note that portions here are generous, and splitting entrees is suggested especially if you opt for a decent number of appetizers as we did. Special mention should be made of the cocktails at Rumi's. While I personally did not have a mixed drink, my friends all raved about the flavor profiles of their libations and found them refreshing and balanced relative to others we had in the city. Service here meets the high standard I experienced at the Atlanta locations, and our waitress was helpful and attentive. The space itself is bright and strikes a great balance between rustic Persian accents and more modern, swanky touches. Overall, Rumi's offers a well rounded Persian dining experience with great food, drinks, service, and ambiance which is hard to beat. It's well worth a visit for any fan of Middle Eastern flavors, and my wife and I are already planning our next meal here.
