I got the spicy version (without the mushrooms) and it tasted really good with the strawberry balsamic sauce or whatever. Some of the girls working there didn't look too happy about their job (maybe because they were tired since the place was about to close for the day), but the guys working there seemed to be really nice/enthusiastic. &Pizza is sort of a pizza version of a Subway or Chipotle. Its "fast food" style pizzas aren't nearly as good as those from restaurants that use a wood fired oven. However, I like the &Pizza's concept, and they still serve up a pretty decent pizza. They have about a half dozen suggested pizza recipes, or you can select everything yourself -- from a couple dough options, to several sauces, a few cheeses, and about a dozen (maybe more, I didn't count) toppings. The toppings include most expected items (sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, etc), but also include some less common items (examples: falafel, broccoli, fresh jalapeños). However, curiously, some common items are absent (examples: no green peppers, no raw onions). They also have several "finishers" -- toppings you can add after the pizza comes out of the oven (examples: arugula, prosciutto, etc.). One cheese option is house-made mozzarella, which I had on my pizza. Although I like the concept of house-made mozzarella, it's execution was a little off. The mozzarella came in a ball and the person who assembled my pizza tore off pieces and put them on my pie. Unfortunately, the pieces were quite large and they didn't melt very well in the oven. Speaking of the oven, I believe that is the biggest drawback to &Pizza's concept. They use small conveyor-belt style electric ovens and the pizza is only inside for 2-3 minutes. A combination of the baking time and temperature wasn't enough to crisp the entire crust, nor sufficiently melt my mozzarella. My four-star rating is a bit generous -- the pizza I had was three stars (at best) -- however, like I mentioned at the beginning, I like &Pizza's concept. read more

Been here twice and I love it. It's great that you can customize whatever toppings you like. I didn't run into the same issues as other people with their pizza not cooking all the way through. I really like their thin crust and my favorite specialty pizzas are the Farmer's Daughter and the Maverick. Seating is limited so people hog spots while another person is ordering. read more

&pizza is my default place to eat when I go to Springfield Town Center. It is relatively cheap. I love the concept of creating your own pizza and having it fully cooked in minutes is awesome. They have their signature pizzas or create your own. The amount of topping you can choose was completely overwhelming the first time I went, so I recommend that you get a signature pizza or come with a plan before you go. I love the gnarlic but I've been creating my own the past few times I've gone there. I recommend trying the ancient grains dough over over the traditional dough. The size of the pizza is definitely enough for one person. Every time I go there, there is usually a huge line. The staff is very good about keeping the line moving, especially when it's busy. I took ten 11 year old's here for my daughter's bday after we watched a movie. I called earlier in the day to ask about reserving a table (I had no idea what the place was like). I talked to Marie and after explaining the set up of the place she kindly offered to reserve one of their tables for us even though the place is a "community" style place, not seated style (were a server seats you). Since it was for a bday she also offered to give us a free dessert. Needless to say I was already impressed with the customer service!! When we arrived after the movie I was a little concerned by the size of the place but Marie had reserved a big table for us in the back just as promised! There were a lot of people (I'm guessing a good sign of the food quality) but I got the kid seated and in line to order with no issues. I finally go to meet Marie who was as nice as can be. I was impressed with the servers and their kindness and helpfulness. The food was made to order and quickly. It was immediatly devoured by the kids and received all thumbs up. The pizza, salad, and dessert I ordered was great! I was truly impressed with how kind everyone was and how they really tried to help make the bday dinner special for my daughter. Went in somewhat dubious about a chipotle style pizza place but was pleasantly surprised with &pizza. Not the best pizza I've ever had, but came away somewhat surprised. You pick between two types of dough, eight types of sauces, three types of cheeses and numerous other toppings. I had never visited the other &pizza location in DC prior to this visit so this was my first time trying them. I really really enjoyed this. I mentioned to some of the employees that this was my first time and was looking for them to help steer me in the right direction of what to choose because there are many options to choose from. I am happy to report, they were more than helpful and the recommendation they made was a home run. I had the Maverick. You can choose one of their signature pizzas or create your own. All the pizzas are the same size and i must say, I really like the one size fits all mentality here because the menu isn't cluttered with so many different size options you can really focus on the type of pizza you will be ordering. I paid close to $9 for my one man pizza but i found it to be very filling even for a big guy like myself. The flavors really popped. Everything tasted so fresh. Very memorable. They even had homemade soda. I only tired the cherry soda and it was good. Didn't give me the bloated feeling that a Coke or Pepsi would. All in all, it's so nice to have a pizza place back in Springfield Mall. It's just another home run addition to the already powerful resturant lineup they have with Chuy's, Yardhouse & Maggianos. Updating my review to include the dessert pizza the 'Lori Lane' previously hadn't tried it out. Made room for it this time and ended up with more pizza leftovers which was fine by me the limited edition Hogg Boss pizza was amazeballs! Back to dessert pizza, on paper is sounds a interesting - white chocolate sauce, four berry blend, sweet ricotta, powdered sugar, and agave syrup. Wasn't too sure about the mix on pizza crust. The berries look like blackberry/strawberry/blueberry/maybe cranberry? Not quite sure but it had a really good balance between tart and sweet. If you have the room for it or what i suggest split a pizza and save room for dessert! Otherwise pizzas at &pizza reheat decent enough and provide quick lunches to pack for work. Delicious pizza but..... My boyfriend and I had our first &pizza experience on 7/03/16 at the Springfield location. We were told it's like the Chipotle of pizza, but better. The staff making the pizza were really friendly, they let us taste the sauce because we (I was) were indecisive. I chose half and half (mushroom truffle and traditional). Once we got to the register, this is where the issue began. One guy went on break and a young lady checked in. She seemed like she didn't want to be there. I asked for black pepper instead of olives and the expression on her face was like....Really? I should have said black olives so I apologized and said, "I meant black olives," so she gave them to me. Then I asked for basil and she slapped three pieces of basil on my pizza, lol. I asked about the sauces and she act like she didn't want to tell me what they were. I saw the guy helping the people before me recommending sauces, saying which was his favorite, etc. My boyfriend went back for some basil sauce for me and he mentioned how she had a crappy attitude. That's understood, we all have our "days" but in customer service, its unacceptable. In addition to her attitude here are a few other things I noticed: - I wasn't sure how much it cost, I didn't see any prices? - It would be nice if they had some staff favorites, or specials because it can be overwhelming for a first timer. - Some of the OTHER staff seemed immature and were playing around near the register and near the pizza oven. I found this to be unprofessional. -The same guy playing near the register was sweeping, which I found bothersome (i.e. unsettled dusk can fill the air and get on the ingredients and pizza). His pants were also sagging...unprofessional. - I saw the same pizza cutter used for all without being wiped off. I am a reformed pork eater and my boyfriend had a bunch of pork on his pizza. I swore I tasted sausage on my pizza. I understand this is a young establishment and the staff seems young too, but possibly better management will improve attitudes, level of professionalism and horse playing while on duty. I'm DEFINITELY not going to let this incident stop me from patronizing this establishment. I am so glad finally in my area there is an amazing pizza place. My husband and I got one and shared it was very filling. Can't get any fresher than that. They are super fast too so if the line is long don't leave, stay in line and try this pizza. They also have their own "soft drinks." I didn't try them but I will next time now that I know they are customized drinks. By the way you can customize any pizza but I just ordered off the menu. Very good. This was my second time to &Pizza- the first location I visited was on K street in NW DC and both times experienced friendly staff with great positive attitudes and welcoming feeling. I ordered the maverick pizza but I was able to add whatever I wanted to it, so I got the marinated mushrooms, extra cheese, kalmata olives, arugula, and goat cheese on top.
