    Fish tacos

I was overall impressed with quality and freshness of our selected dishes; Guac, chicken fajita, Nachos was an "A" plus and a quesadilla...The only recommendation is to serve cold water.

Today I ordered the fish tacos with coleslaw and a small side of guacamole, their dishes do not include beans and rice as a standard they actually charge you an additional five dollars if you want to add that to your dish. We have already paid $17 for the fish tacos and now you add an extra five. No, about the food the fish looks like it was torn apart. I suppose it's because it's a delicate fish. However, it was way too salty. I had to request lime or lemon and she gave me two small pieces of lemon. I have to give them a grade.... I would give them a C+.

A decent Mexican place in Los Gatos that I usually make online orders for. I usually get the El Presidente Burrito and 2 Baja Fish Taco. The burrito on the outside is a bit messy, as it is covered with guac and shrimp. I usually just start eating the burrito without it and spread the guac and a piece of shrimp inside between bites. Their guac is really good! The fish tacos are also pretty good. Crispy and crunchy. I do wish they gave a second tortilla on the bottom, otherwise if I leave the taco alone too long it might start getting soggy and rip more easily.

Put avocado on wrong order. Didn't want to make good on it, charged me $3 anyway. Whatever happened to customer service? This place used to be good, but has gone downhill

Nice restaurant on the main Santa Cruz strip. It has a cozy backyard patio, and a smaller pet friendly patio area out front. It has been a long time staple in the area for many decades. Stopped by for dinner again recently and ordered... * Chips & guac -- Nice fresh tortilla chips. Guac was fresh but could have used more spice and tang. Congress with 3 different salsas... salsa fresca, green salsa and red salsa. * Enchiladas Verde -- Comes with 2 enchiladas stuffed with chicken, and a side of Spanish rice. Chicken was a little on the bland side. * Salmon Salad -- Grilled salmon was decent. Salad has a good variety of organic greens, cucumber, tomato, and bits of goat cheese and avocado with a light vinaigrette. Service was friendly enough. Food is decent, but nothing particularly crave worthy.

This place is why I wish Yelp offered half stars and it should have received a 2 1/2 from me. Now this place isn't bad but it's just very average. My burrito and bottled soda was $16. The burrito was also small. I have gotten way better, bigger and tastier burritos at my local Mexican market. The chicken tinga was good but just not great. I'm also not a fan of restaurants that only offwr cans or bottles and not a soda machine. Kinda cheap to me. Also no chips. If you're looking for good Mexican food you probably shouldn't come here. You can get so much better for cheaper elsewhere.

Welcoming Kind service team, beautiful interior and exterior, easy to follow menu, food brought out relatively quickly. Even the grilled chicken in the salad was perfectly made. There is something for everyone!

IMHO OMG, today I ate the best enchiladas evah!!! My friend and I both ordered the Andale Enchiladas with our choice of proteins. Our platters came out quickly and beautifully presented. The enchilada sauce was intriguing at first sight. It looked more watery and lighter in color, than I'm used to. However, this house-made ranchera sauce totally made the dish. It was wonderfully tasty and flavorful! I loved it!!! Alexander was our genuinely friendly and efficient server! We dined in the open-aired and covered back patio. I look forward to returning again very soon! However, I wish we were given a complimentary basket of chips and salsa, as most Mexican restaurants do...

First of all let me start this off stating that the servers and staff are friendly and excellent. I am sure the cooks are too, however we did not meet them. This place was given to me as a recommendation m y a friend of mine. This friend had gone there years ago and thought it was excellent. Something unfortunately has changed, at least when we went there the other night. All 3 of us buds went into downtown Los Gatos to eat here, as one was staying in Los Gatos and we wanted to make it more convenient for him. WE sat in the back patio. So it was ok, but there were a ton of flies lingering around and flying, that was not the greatest, but there is not much you can do. Only one server for about 10-12 tables, and that was terrible. She was overworked and stressed. She smiled even though she was overworked in this. She seemed a bit scattered. Perhaps they should have 2-3 servers out there. So lets get to the food and drinks. Um well, not really great. Sadly my friends Ice Tea he complained tasted like soap :( So perhaps the glasses were not complete in rinsing. Lets now move on to my food that I ordered shall we. I ordered the carnitas, when they got to the table with the corn tortillas they were stale, the tortillas. The girl was nice enough to replace them with flour..which were great. The Carnitas were a bit tough and the portion was not very much, at least on my plate. My friend ordered the same thing and his was much more. Perhaps they figured since I was a huskier guy I needed the diet portion :) Nonetheless, it just was not the best. Sad to say, since we were expecting more. I am speechless. Seems everywhere you go now, either people and the venues either have lower quality due to all the covid stuff or not training staff well. Not sure what it is. Also could have been they were all overworked. I always try to give a fair review. However seems more and more reviews are lacking being stellar in presentations and food and service. I would recommend staffing more with servers. Having your assistants that bring out the food be quicker and more aware of issues before presenting. I cannot comment on the cooks, since I am sure they are doing the very best they can with the situations. Would I go back? Probably not given the whole evening and situation. One of us out of 3 enjoyed their meal.

Andale... to the bathroom. I rarely give restaurants two stars, and I feel bad because the service, atmosphere, and location are all great. But, I wouldn't eat there again. We didn't want to pay for chips and salsa so we got the nachos. Who has the best in Los Gatos? They're NOTchos. These were fine, though the cheese wasn't melted. The cheese for the fundido was not melted either: you have to andale before it coagulates. Maybe these guys didn't pay their gas bill. They might want to up the wattage of the hair dryer they're using. The not-so-fundido came with soyriso, corn tortillas, and bread that were dry. The potatoes were dry, too. Like maybe they don't even use oil? But super dry and completely dependent on the two small sauces: one, unpleasantly smoky, the other completely void of flavor. We didn't even finish them they were so dry. We took a bag of them home. Not to eat, but to stick in our iPhones in them if we accidentally drop them in water. Sucks that there are no soda refills given how dry and flavorless the food. I had to rely on my tiny $13 margarita. My mediocre El Presidente Burrito should have built that wall. To keep me from eating there. As I ate the seemingly undercooked, flavorless shrimp I told my wife to tell the doctor that's what got me. I started imagining Bubba from Forrest Gump. You can have shrimp salmonella, shrimp giardia, shrimp listeria, shrimp botulism, shrimp e. Coli... just kidding, just kidding. To be clear, the restaurant has passed all health regulations, and I'm just joking. (But make sure this wasn't my last review, just in case)

Hey there Party People…read more I had heard of this place from friends so I decided to try it. I confused this place with another restaurant when I did my first review. So I want to set the record straight because Los Gatos Cafe was a really good experience. It's a small place but there are outside tables as well. You can order lunch at any time as well as breakfast. We started with Banana Chocolate Chip pancakes. Holy smokes they were the bomb. They had a ton of fresh bananas inside as well as a nice amount of chocolate chips on top. I had the Hot Turkey and Pear sandwich. I know the combo sounds weird but it was super tasty. The pear added crunch and sweetness to the sandwich. There was also a good dose of grilled onions to go with the owie gooey cheese....yum. Hubby had the Granite Flank Steak Sandwich . It was smothered in Gorgonzola cheese with a good portion of Flank Steak. The steak was tender and well seasoned. It was the perfect flavor bite. So going to add this place to the frequent flier list. Be kind to one another

I tried a good variety of the menu, Shrimp & Grits, Pulled Pork Benedict, Chicken & Waffles, Banana Nutella Churro Waffle, and Cornbread and Coffee cake. I've had grits a few times in the past and have never really liked them before, that was until these! The Shrimp & Grits was actually a highlight! The shrimp were cooked perfectly and there was a good portion of them. Really flavorful dish. Other favorite was the Pulled Pork Benedict and Chicken & Waffles. Great portions and flavor on each. The Banana Nutella Churro Waffle was a little decadent and sweet for me, but I would've loved that dish when I was younger, and probably could've eaten the whole thing too. Service was friendly and food didn't take long to come out. Love that they have indoor and outdoor seating, we opted for inside this time, but would definitely pick outside on a nice day!

If you're hoping to sit inside, I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. The service was wonderful from start to finish. My friend and I both ordered the smash burger and I've got to say it was easily one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. The meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned so well. The sweet potato fries were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and absolutely delicious. And whatever you do, DO NOT skip the bread pudding. It was a 1000/10! Not overly sweet, perfectly balanced, and the texture was incredible. If you're on the fence about dessert, just order it, you won't regret it. The only minor downside was that the sodas were very flat and tasted a bit syrupy. Other than that, everything was fantastic. Our server was Therese who took excellent care of us. She was welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Also, the manager came around to check up on us, to make sure we didn't have last calls right before the kitchen closed. That was considerate. We decided on ordering the... Grilled Pork Chop: bourbon marinated grilled peach compote, peach, red onion & tomato salad (4/5). The presentation was gorgeous. A Sous vide pork chop with grill marks cooked to a medium temperature. Savory and complemented with the tangy, spicy, and tart salad. A tad heavy handed on the salt for the sauce, otherwise, it was still delicious. Gnocchi Ragu: lamb bolognese, pecorino (4/5). The meat sauce was delicious. The gnocchi itself was sizeable and decent. Fries (4/5) - medium shoe string cut fries that were hot, crispy, and lightly seasoned. So fresh and right out of the deep fryer. Parkside Bread Pudding: vanilla gelato, pecan praline (4/5). This was delicious. Therese was told by the kitchen staff that they unfortunately ran out of the pecan praline when she brought it out. Though, it was still decadent and divine. Therese even brought us a complimentary beignets for a birthday celebration. We will be back! Generous amounts of chicken breast in the chicken pesto crepe and the sauce is just right - tasty and mouth watering, without being salty or too rich. It's the kind of café that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile. The staff was friendly and helped us choose both a pastry and our toast. They were also happy to customize our order--we asked for the levain sourdough toast with butter instead of the usual olive oil. That toast was absolutely divine. The sourdough had the perfect balance: chewy without being too sour, with a crust that was crisp but not so hard that it fought back. Easily the best sourdough toast I've had in the Bay Area. If you come here, this is the one thing you have to order. The only disappointment was the butter. They serve French butter, but for an extra $2, the portion was tiny and honestly nothing special. I've had better butter from Whole Foods. It didn't take away from how incredible the bread was, but it wasn't worth the upcharge. Their Kouign-amann is also one of the best I've ever had. Instead of the typical flat, flaky style, theirs is taller with countless buttery layers that create an amazing texture. The cappuccino was another highlight. It had subtle notes of orange peel, whiskey, and cardamom, making it unique. The latte art was beautiful too. Overall, Manresa Bread is one of those cafés that makes you want to sit down with a laptop or a book and spend a few hours there. The only downside is there are no power outlets, so come with a full battery if you're planning to work. Must orders: Levain sourdough toast with butter and the Kouign-amann. Both are worth the trip.

It was delicious on its own, but the strawberry jam on the side was a great addition and paired nicely. The almond croissant was wonderfully flaky and buttery, filled with a rich, flavorful almond paste. Very good! I also ordered the seasonal lavender latte, and it was outstanding. The lavender flavor actually came through instead of getting lost in the coffee, creating a fragrant, well-balanced drink that was both comforting and delightful.
