Food was great, service was all right. Went in for lunch one afternoon and the servers seemed pre-occupied with things other than waiting tables. There was a "hiring servers" sign in the window so maybe they were just overworked, but the restaurant was only half full so that's quite the shortage if that's the case. Food was good though - I'm admittedly not a veteran in Thai food so I can't speak to authenticity, but I do have to point out that the spring rolls are an *absolute* must. I don't know what sauce it comes with, but it's absolutely worth it. I'd smother the sauce on everything else I got too, if there was anything left over. I'd definitely give this place another shot if I'm in town again, hopefully with a few more servers on shift. read more

Shoutout to the local community heroes here at Andaman. Service was friendly and personable. Flavors were on point and the ambiance was delightful. A large enough menu for a nice tour around the wonderful Thai culture. We had fried pork with delicious sweet and spicy dipping sauce. We ordered a side of cucumber salad and a fresh roll. The flavors were balanced and delicious. I ordered red curry spice level 2. One of my favorites and my tastebuds were dancing!! Coconut milk blends all the spices and textures perfectly. Crunchy veggies and creamy sauce and a generous side of steamed rice. The rice further equalizes the savory entree. My husband ordered the catfish in a green curry sauce. This is his favorite curry!! Spice level 4!! He like to sniffle when he eats his curry! Mission accomplished!!! Wonderful entree! For dessert I had mango and sticky rice. Chewy and sweet ... refreshing!!! The beer and wine choices complimented these flavors well. The only thing that I would have loooooved to have was my favorite Papaya salad. But I can get that at that at almost any Thai venue, I was more than happy with all the wonderful items that I got to try since I didn't fill up on salad. PLEASE READ‼ On Sunday March 8th, i ordered a pad Thai, fried rice, and one Thai tea. I was charged for two teas. Before giving my card back to the employee i specifically asked her "are you going to charge my card again or just refund me for the difference?" She said "no i won't charge again" and then she did charge me. I ended up getting charged $67 for a $31 meal. The refund i was supposed to get never came. I had to call once both charges went from pending to actually charged on Thursday. The owner said that he was not informed that he was supposed to void one of them so he didn't. He ended up having to write me a check for both charges ( per my request ) and then went on to explain that they didn't want me to come back to the restaurant again. So sad, i loved eating here, and due to their poor customer service, i am no longer able to eat there. read more

Don't bother to come to the restaurant, they only seem to care about takeout orders and door dash. We waited for over an hour and only received some cold and watery dumplings. We never actually received our main courses. I actually saw a waitress cheer on the way back to the kitchen when she turned away a walk-in table. Go to Thai Square! Better food, nicer place, and way better service. Note to the owners-if your servers are so miserable that they actively discourage customers from coming in-you need to re-evaluate your staffing decisions. read more

We LOVE Andaman. We have tried several different Thai places in the dfw metroplex and honestly the food is so good here we stopped exploring other restaurants. I'm a drunken noodles gal but I have tried all the noodle dishes and they are all very delicious. The curries are also good and I definitely plan to try more of them as the weather gets cooler. Definitely plan to have big spice when you're here, they don't mess around. We like spicy so we are huge fans but if you're not a spicy lover, maybe look elsewhere or only get a zero spice level! So underwhelming! I love Thai food and had high hopes for this place, but can't see myself going back. Our service was barely one star at best, just really bad. Server was completely inattentive and unhelpful and this was during a very slow time for the restaurant. We ordered chive dumplings for an appetizer. After 20 minutes, and not seeing our server once, they finally came out. For $6 you get two, yes two, dumplings. Took the first bite and they were slimy and felt completely undercooked. Waited five minutes before I could wave down our server to tell her but she informed us that they are supposed to be slimy and that she doesn't even like them. No offer to take them off our bill or anything, just that she knows they are gross and see you later. Twice I had to flag her down for a refill. Would probably never have gotten one if I didn't. I ordered basil fried rice with a 2 on the spicy scale. The rice was pretty good and the only reason that I'm giving two stars bc everything else about this visit was pretty terrible. The veggies were cooked well and had a good spice to it. Food took a long time to come and our server didn't clear our gross appetizer plate. After we were done eating we sat for quite awhile waiting for her to show back up. When she did finally come she didn't take our dirty plates. After we asked for the check I found that she charged me $1 for extra sauce that was actually on the table but I didn't see. No heads up that she was going to charge me extra. So it's very slow, beyond terrible service, expensive, and decent at best food. This is nowhere near as good as Oriental Garden or Thai Square. Our beverage was served at 7:05pm and our entrees came out at 8:10pm. Ok, so they're slow, I get that. Waited a full hour to receive our food at our table. You'll hear that these folks are slow in other reviews here on Yelp. However for me, it was the experience between the time our beverage was served and the time we got our entrees. We were never asked if we wanted another drink....after 45 min we flagged down a different server to help get us drinks. We ordered 2 appetizers and only received one. Our server didn't even notice (or care) not sure. Overall, just a bad customer service experience. The food was ok, not the greatest which made us regret coming here. Good luck if you visit. Denton has quite a few Thai restaurants, and for the most part their food tastes the same. If, for example, you were to give me a blind taste test of all of them, I could maybe differentiate them by the presentation of certain dishes, but almost certainly not from taste. Andaman, however, stands out, so it wins the prize. I've had the red curry at other places, but Andaman's has something extra, and I feel that goes for most of their dishes. I came here on Friday for a friend's birthday. I had just had Thai the day before so I tried to convince her to go for seafood, but she was set on Thai food and at this particular location. We arrived around 6pm and were seated promptly. The restaurant was a bit dark (lighting, decor). Our server took our drink orders left us to explore the menu. I already knew I wanted rice, but still decided to take a look at the menu in case there was something that caught my eye. I almost got a salmon dish, but ended up with my trusty rice. I went for the Garlic Pepper pork fried rice minus cucumbers and 2 egg rolls. The portions were huge and the pork was very ok. I would prefer it to be a little more crisp ans the actual rice could use more flavor. The egg rolls were hot and had a beautiful golden crisp. The sweet and sour sauce had peanuts. I thought that was a bit odd, so I asked for it sans peanuts and it was better that way. I have been to several thai places in Denton and this is a bit pricier. Thai fried rice is usually $8-$10 and this was $12.95. It is easily enough to share with 2 people and have leftovers, but I think it could be a dollar or 2 cheaper. Our server was ok whenever she was at the table, but we had to flag her down or ask another server to find her whenever we needed something as she didn't check on us regularly. The restaurant wasn't overly crowded, but she never made it our way in a timely manner. Spring Roll anyone? Didn't think so. We've been loyal Andaman Thai customers for at least 6 years. Tried their fresh spring rolls tonight but what we opened was anything but. After calling to ask fora refund the "Boss" didn't talk with us and instead relayed through their employee that we messed up by not pouring sauce over it and microwaving it. Ummm....what????!!!! We've been to Andaman Thai 5-6 times, and the food is pretty good. However, we've experienced two instances of terrible customer service from the owner. 1. We went to Andaman Thai with some friends, one of whom has a gluten allergen, so she asked for a gluten free meal. The meal that came out wasn't gluten free, so she asked very kindly for a different meal as she had requested. However, the owner came out and told us we would have to pay for the incorrect meal. We argued this for 10 minutes and he finally relented. While we were leaving we found out that the owner forced the waiter to pay for the meal! 2. We ordered a to go meal(we've done this 3 times), and one of the meals was missing the rice that came with it. We called back to ask them for a free meal the next time we came in, but the owner refused and said he would give us some rice. So now I have a meal that is meant to be eaten with rice and will be wasted, but the owner is to greedy to give any good customer service. Do not go here if you value good customer service. Visited on a Sunday early evening for dinner. This place is conveniently located off the square. The 2 stars are based on the food and the service. I was so excited to see dumplings on the menu! We ordered the chive dumplings and was surprised when 2 dumplings came out for $6. They were edible but I wouldn't not recommend or order them again. I ordered the Massaman Curry after seeing all the recommendations for it. I got it with tofu and vegetables for an extra charge. Their spice level is 1-4. I felt that the 2 was hot but still had flavor without burning my mouth off. They clearly have menu options marked for dietary needs also, so that's nice. Our waitress was nice, but inattentive. Refills were given only when asked (we were sharing water at one point), plates were not cleared until we literally had a tower of them (and then some were still left), and we were checked on very infrequently. They did not appear to be busy up front- tables were open and many empty ones had not been cleaned from previous customers. I did enjoy reading the other reviews for this restaurant, some of them were glowing, some funny, and others just awful. Knowing what my possible situations could be with a visit here, and based on my last experience, I doubt I will ever return in the future. So I like the food here but the service has made me promise not to ever spend my hard earned money there anymore. I received the worse service for a to-go order I went inside to place. I ordered fried rice but I didnt want vegetables in my food. I asked the waitress to specifically pls let the cook know that I would like onions but very little. Asked, Please do not have him put alot of onions in it, which I figured they would do since I didnt get vegetables. So order came out and I watched a waiter set it on a small table by the front desk which was directly infront of me. I wondered why he didnt just hand me the order. I was sitting there starring at it for a good 15-20 mins before someone finally decided to hand it to me. The order turned out to be wrong, had huge onions inside of it. Iasked the waiter nicely that the order was wrong and he then mumbled something under his breathe but really didn't respond to me then he walked away. Take note, I was not rude, loud or ghetto in any way. When the manager came out I talked to him and expressed how dissappointed I am in the service I received today and he too didn't seem to worried about it. If you are a picky person with food this is not the place to go. If you don't tip for to go orders don't expect to even get offered a class of water. I asked the waiter for a glass of water and didnt receive it. It took me having to ask the manager to get it. It was so sad and I felt so humiliated but I have learned my lesson. We enjoyed a family birthday dinner for 10 here. They put us around a large square table/booth that suited us very well. The appetizers we ordered included: shrimp dumplings, chicken spring rolls, chive dumplings, and coconut shrimp. The shrimp dumplings and coconut shrimp were awesome, the chicken spring rolls were ok, but the chive dumpings were pasty and weird. No one at our table liked them. Our entrees were good. We ordered a curry, Pad Kee Mow, BBQ Beef, Chicken Pad Thai, grilled salmon, a duck dish, glass noodles and two more dishes that I don't recall. Everyone cleaned their plates. The two of us who ordered 3 out of 5 on the spice level were surprised at how hot our dishes were. We both will try 2 next time. Overall it was a nice time. Man oh man!!! This was fantastic! We were really blown away. Most of the time I get so hyped up at trying a new place that I tend to set myself up for disappointment but this time the experience was above all my expectations. It might have been the best meal I've had at a restaurant in memory. The place was pretty crowded at 7pm on Wednesday but there were a few tables available so no problem at all. This is the first week of the Fall semester so there are a lot of folks going out for dinner so it was probably a bit busier than the typical week. The service was quick and on point. The restaurant itself is very clean and has good decor. I ordered a House Salad and the "Dinner Select" Thai Fried Rice with Garlic Peppered Pork. My wife ordered the coconut noodles with chicken. My Thai Fried Rice with Garlic Peppered Pork was SUPER GOOD. SO GOOD. I was going back and forth trying to decide what to order and I am so glad I chose this dish. I requested it full spicy and it was perfect. The fried rice was the best I've had - it was soft and lightly fried, not sticky and not hard. It was just perfect. The pork on top was very flavory and slightly crispy - almost like German Schnitzel tips. My wife's coconut noodles were great. They had a ton of sprouts which we really like. The flavor was very light and fresh. The chicken was good clean pieces of high-quality meat (no tendons, etc). The menu listing indicates it as a spicy dish but she requested it mild and it was served perfectly mild. The only thing less than perfect was the House Salad. It was pretty small considering that it is a full salad order and not a side dish. I recommend skipping the salads. Give this place a try if you are in the mood for some Thai food! I have been going here for years as a kid with my parents, and now as an adult I still find myself craving Andaman's Pra Ram or Tom Kha. It was very interesting to read through Yelp's review about this place. Some love Andaman, while others swear against it. In my opinion, both-side could be right. Boiling down to it, it is all about personal preference after all. However, no matter this place is your cup of tea or not, I could easily make the bold statement that Andaman, by far, is the only place who serves decent duck dishes on their regular menu in Denton. Honestly expected more. The atmosphere is alright. The service OK, and the food below par. I got the house salad, as an appetizer, Tom Kha soup, and Pad See-Ew. The salad was lacking in anything but mung beans, and the soup tasted of far too much coconut. For the $4.50 price of soup I could have bought a water bottle with more volume. The main entree was less than satisfying. It was drowned in sauce, yet I couldn't taste any flavoring on the noodles. The chicken was overdone and the whole thing just didn't look appetizing. Went on recommendation and because their curries can be made vegan. It just wasn't good. Ordered green curry and fresh rolls. The curry was bland and not spiced to the level we had requested, and also a small portion woth a disproportionate amount of tofu. Like a lot. The fresh rolls really peeved us- they were rice crepes stuffed with mung bean sprouts, a few slivers of tofu, and that's about it. Sauce was some shadow of sweet and sour sauce. My husband and I randomly stopped in for dinner while walking around downtown Denton, and we're glad we did! First of all, the ambiance is great- modern and clean. I don't know if there was music playing, but we could hear ourselves talk which I always appreciate at a restaurant. My husband really liked his spicy noodle stir fry, and I loved my noodle stir fry with garlic pepper sauce. I appreciated the large vegetables and the amount of sauce that came with each of our meals. Definitely great portion sizes for the price. I had the Zinfandel house wine (don't recommend unless you like super sweet wine), and my husband got an ugly pig beer. Super low prices for those as well, like under $5! I've eaten here three or four times, and I just wanted to say that this place is absolutely amazing, the food is delicious, the service is great. I ate here the other night and some guy came in and started harassing the owner and barged into the kitchen yelling at the cooks over a takeout order. This is one of our local go-to places. The menu is extensive and the quality of the food is consistent. We love all the fresh vegetables.

It took us close to two hours for dinner with no wait for a table. The waitress told us they were "really busy", but there were multiple open tables. The food was ok. I had the glass noodles and asked for them to make them spicy at level 2/4. I added the dry chili flakes from the "spice rack" and it seemed kind of salty. The spice rack had to be brought to our table and contained chili flakes, chili sauce, and salt and pepper. One of my friends requested baby corn not be cooked into his food and the waitress came back and asked if he didn't mind just picking it out. They were accommodating to vegan/vegetarian needs. One friend requested tofu and veggies in her meal and was charged $2 for "extra tofu". She was told there'd be an extra charge. My other friend asked for a side of sauce and was charged $1 for it without the mention of an extra charge. They were out of mango for the sweet mango rice, so we ordered the black rice pudding. It took about 15 more minutes to get the dessert. The rice was so hot and you could tell they poured cold coconut milk over it, so the temperature was kind of all over the place. I spent $20 plus a tip for one glass of wine, an entree, and half of a dessert, so price-wise it was ok. Our waitress only picked up empty plates once we stacked all of them, including the appetizer plate. She did not pick up the one unstacked empty plate. As we were getting ready to leave, a different waitress was cleaning up another table and she dropped a spoon on the floor. Instead of coming back for it or picking it up, she literally kicked it to the kitchen door and then put her foot on it and dragged it into the kitchen. Not a great experience, definitely not planning on going back. As a side note, there's a very peculiar piece of furniture in the women's bathroom. It's like a corner desk with no drawers and a chair. At first I thought it might be set up like a vanity, but it doesn't have a mirror. Very strange. read more

I give them 1 star only because their food does not suck as bad as their customer service (By far the worst Pad Ke Mo I have ever had). My office goes out for lunch every day around the Denton Square and we have been to this location several times with mixed reviews. However, after today we put this place on our "Do not go to" list... A college found a hair in his food and they made us pay for it, even after we explained that 1. it is inappropriate to find a hair, 2. He came to eat with us, and not watch us eat while you try to remedy the situation by fixing him a "To-go order" 3. We think you just used the same food he sent back and re-packaged it as new. You just lost out on a bunch of potential repeat customers, all because you seem more interested in the money that you can make today. Feeling very disappointed...I recommend "Thai Square" if you want better food and customer service on the Denton Square. read more

Have seen this place for some time, and finally decided to go for it. The parking for this area is not great. Don't expect to park just outside the door. But just a short walk towards the square is public parking. Park there. Walking inside talks you off the streets and into a nice small restaruant with nice seating options, beautiful decour and a well lit restaraunt. I told the waitress this was our first time, and she immediately gave us some background on the place, as well as some of their recent offerings. She knew the menu, and was well acquanted with the cuisine itself. She walked us through the basic items on the menu and then took our drink order, and GAVE US TIME to look over the menu. They have quite a few appetizers, but on this rainy day, we both ordered the Tom Kha soup. The soup was excellent. It had that great coconut aroma, but had their family spices and specialities. This one point is what appeals to me at any Asian restaraunt. Family recipes. That is where you get those subtle differences that make each place unique. I had the Red Curry, My date, the Massaman Curry. Both were well done, the vegetables well cooked and you could taste and see the spices in the curry. The Jasmine rice was an excellent side, as it was light, slightly fragrant, and had the great taste that went well in the Curry or by itself. The prices are not cheap, but then, for a good Thai place, I felt the prices were competitive. They did say they had a Lunch menu and prices for Monday through Friday. Delivery charge is $6 for up to a 10 mile delivery, so I am more likey to call in and go pick up. But, I will go back again. The only reason that I didn't go 5 stars is because of the first time experience is what I call the Honeymoon experience. If they continue to offer the same quality food on my second trip, I will up the rating. I am already trying to decide between the Sweet Roasted Chili Fried Rice, the Volcano Catfish, the Chili Catfish, and the Crab Meat Fried Rice. When they asked how hot on a scale of 1-4, we asked for 4 but were kindly convinced to go with a 2.5 on the spice scale. While waiting for our food, the waitress gave us water and it came out in no time. A word to the wise, a 2.5 on the spiciness scale is VERY spicy. That's the kind of thai I like! The green curry was very fresh with lots of hints of lime but lacked in the meat portion. Overall we were very satisfied. The menu is very extensive. I would like to come in and try more dishes. The only kicker about this place is the PRICE. For two normal-sized meals with no appetizers or drinks, the bill was $21!
