Got a fish taco plate too go - I imagine it would've been better and crispier fresh, but flavors were tasty. So full disclosure, we specifically came here for the desert and we were not disappointed. I'll get into that more a little bit later. Came in on a Sunday afternoon, and it was pretty packed, but you could tell that folks come here often and enjoy their food. Our server was Morgan, and she was wonderful. Super helpful, and even brought a friend over to help us make our dessert selections. they have a salsa bar which is always a good sign, and a pretty extensive menu of New Mexican food. Overall, I would say the food was fine. We've had a ton of New Mexican food over the years from Roswell to Gallup, and this was pretty on par. However, we had heard the hype about their pecan pie and homemade ice cream, and our expectations were exceeded. Both were absolutely delicious, and if you come in you definitely need to get the pie à la mode. If we were to drive through again, we would probably try another restaurant for food, but would definitely swing by for dessert. read more

Waiting staff was super friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. Salsa bar is also great! Number 1 Verde was the big winner though. Posole was a nice touch. Burrito was good but red sauce is not my favorite (tasted like nothing but spice), and kind of annoyed that it was an extra $3 for the sauce (to smother burrito) that I didn't even like and was also included at the salsa bar, but what can you do. We've been finding ourselves in las cruces more often and this place has become one of our must do restaurants when in town. The menu is varied and the hidden menu has its charms too. We SUPER ENJOY the amazing salsa bar every time. Totally fresh, completely authentic and definitely worth trying all of the choices! Andele never leaves you hungry or unsatisfied. Plates are big and filling, especially the Juevos Rancheros or the taco platters. Prices are great and flavors are strong. Yum is the best way to describe this place. Just "Yummmmmm" it's fun and festive, the staff are great and attentive and always willing to make everything just right. Andele brings everything you want for a nice romantic dinner to a massive party. They can handle it. Parking in Mesilla is weird all over, but if you aren't a rock star, a nice walk back to the car after eating here is also pretty good. Just come, see, and enjoy! Unless you're a whiny snowbird. If you are a karen snowbird, there's a taco bell up the street. Andele and it's SUPER AMAZING salsa bar is not for the weak of taste or some of the greatest flavors New Mexican cuisine has to offer. When I first got into town I said I wanted to eat here, tried three times already but never had the ability to. I finely made it for the first time with the family after a year. Excellent! Everything over all excellent. There is something on the menu for everyone. And it's all very filling. The service was a bit more faster the expected especially for how busy the place is. Great job! Good drinks, good food, cool & spacious ambiance, they are very accommodating to larger parties, but will make you wait if your entire party isn't there (over 5 people). I got a house margarita, and it was made with a sour mix, so it was just okay. Our server was okay- he got straight down to business and didn't play games, not super friendly or talkative, which was fine. Our food came out pretty quickly and was good. The best Mexican restaurant in Las Cruces hands down. I make it a point to eat here each time I visit and have yet to be disappointed. The triple stacked enchiladas are incredible and when paired with the green sauce provides for a very filling and delicious meal with plenty of leftovers. Their beer prices are also insanely cheap for a big domestic mug, you won't be able to find deals like this anywhere else. And don't forget to grab a jar of salsa or two on the way out, especially the chipotle and tomatillo jalapeño green. Can't wait to get back here!! read more

Where do I start? The awesome Pazole? The out of sight fresh salsa bar? The extra large 'side' of build your own tacos? The bang for your buck? The stellar service and server Jonathon and excellent manager? It's just a win win across the board. I was traveling into Las Cruces NM for the night and was turned in to this spot by a motel desk clerk. Right on time. I did a little walk through of Old Town Mesilla NM a hop, skip, & a jump from the Mexican border. The town itself is no joke. Mesilla is Old Wild West well maintained and resided in. It's like a throw back and has some really great local shops that I gotta say beat Santa Fe and Taos out. Even in town several people suggested Andele's so I went for it. Friendly as soon as you walk in. A few very cute single dining patrons I might add. Had I not been as slow on the draw as I am I might not have had to dine alone. A coupla three or four smiles from the same girl and I still didn't get it. Oh well. I was seated and even though the place was busy and the door never stopped swinging open I was greeted by a server Jonathon in minutes. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and has tried most everything on it in the years he's been working there. He also knew a cool history of the place and who started it. It's always a good sign when your server is knowledgeable it shows a vested interest and genuine love for the good. Now I starred with chips and salsa. The fresh salsa bar is wear you go help yourself and select from several kinds of fresh salsa and authentic Pico de Gallo, freshly diced onion, tomatoes and jalapeños. I must add the salsa bar was spotless which to keep clean is difficult at best with the decent volume of folks using it. That means that there is someone or several folks attending to wiping it down constantly. Andele is very clean. The salsa is sooo fresh and from regular mild to burn nice hair out. But every type is full of flavor in addition to spice. Sabor is the key and these guys got it right. Next on to the bowl of Pazole. WOW now I'm a Pazole guy and this Pazole is a real winner. A red Pazole on the thicker side instead of a thin broth. Now both are good but this version is righteous. It's thick and heart for those cool desert evenings and chock full of hominy, large pieces of tender pork and spiced just right. Accompanied by a side of homemade tortillas which I learned from Jonathon were made right at their shop next door I was in heaven. This is the real deal. A bit full but still hungry I ordered a 'side' of two tacos that are make your own. They come with the meat of choice, a garnish of lettuce and tomato and grilled onion and you fill your tortilla and get at it. Tender snd delicious is what I can say. A side will yield three tacos easy but from peeking at other table I can see how high they fill their tacos in Mesilla. They ain't playin' here. For the great food, atmosphere, service, price you cannot beat Andele's. All in all this place is extremely well kept, with outstanding service from FOH to BOH and bangin' food! Did I mention yes they are very mask conscientious something I greatly appreciate. I just hope next time I'm there which I plane on being in the next few months on the road I run into the same smiling face and this time I won't be such a slow draw. Because I will be back for sure. Since I got back to town, I've been working my a way across in search of the perfect enchilada and relleno. No real disappointments so far (La Casita) because Las Cruces is Ground Zero for New Mexican food. My best estimate is the food is an 8 (10 scale with Chope's in La Mesa being a 10). One downside. The traditional Mexican music is beyond irritating and you have to block it out. Service is good. read more

I was a regular customer until relatively recently. I used to stop by two or three times a month and what I appreciated most was the consistency in the food and service. If I ordered something once, I knew it would be exactly the same on my next visit. I stopped visiting on a regular basis because the prices increased and I was encountering issues with the service and food preparation. The last time I dined at the restaurant, we were seated way in the back of the building even though there were plenty of seats at the front. There was nobody else in the back so it felt like we were being stuffed in the corner. We've been here many times before so we ordered as soon as we were seated but our food took twice as long to arrive compared to entire groups of people who came in after us. Our drinks arrived at the same time as our food. My entree plate didn't have the lettuce and tomato so I asked our waiter and he was like "oh, ok", and brought them out on a separate plate. I thought it was just a mistake that time but when I picked up a to-go order tonight, neither of the meals included the lettuce and tomato. The menu still says they're included but I guess you won't get them unless you ask. Otherwise you're left with a heap of watery beans and dried out rice. The pork used to be my favorite meat at Andele but its not very good anymore. I paid $2 extra for pork on my enchiladas and I got about one spoonful of rubbery meat. Its disappointing but I don't think I'll be back. read more

This was our first stop upon arriving Las Cruces for some good ol' Mexican food. The parking lot was spacious and tents for were setup outdoor for dining during COVID-19. They really made the outdoor dining experience quite nice with rugs under every table, heating lamps, and decor. The two of us ordered the Combo #3 ($13.30), which came with 1 rolled enchilada (red or green), 1 flauta (beef or chicken), chile con carne (red or green), and your choice of either 1 tamale or 1 relleno all served with beans and rice. This plate was perfect to share and get a taste of everything the restaurant has to offer. We also added a small plate of Queso Fries ($6.20) and Chip & Salsa ($3). Due to COVID-19, they now charge for the chips and salsa but still definitely worth it at $3 per half pound of chips. You get 5 types of salsa, which were all so good and spicy too! I was in love with the queso fries because it was perfectly cheesy with some spicy pepper bites. You just can't go wrong when you combine cheese and fries, but their queso is next level! Of course we also had to get some classic Mexican drinks: horchata and bottled Mango Jarritos for $3 each. Overall, great experience and yummy food. Definitely get the chips and salsa, so you can have extra sauces for all your other items to add on top. read more

I went here expecting exceptional Mexican food. Instead I found paste like refried beans, bone dry rice and queso soaked enchiladas. I ordered green chili chicken enchiladas because I was told they were very good. What I got was tortillas stacked with what tasted like dry precooked chicken cubes and very little green chili soaked in queso, then covered with loads of cheese and quick baked. It was nothing better than I've had at many other Mexican restaurants, accept that it does have Andeles queso, which is very good. However, it has A LOT of queso...A LOT. I did try several different salsas from the salsa bar, all of which were decent with their fresh made chips. Service was good though. Very friendly. All in all the food was a big disappointment. We were traveling through Mesilla and decided to stop here for lunch based on Yelp and other reviews. I had the taco special with chicken. My husband had the enchiladas with chicken. The tacos came with a spicy bean soup that was probably the most tasty thing other than the guacamole. The chips were good. The rest of the food just average. They sat about 6 couples AFTER us at four- top tables, which was frustrating. But your could get a 20 oz beer for only about $5. This place is pretty amazing and has a really fun salsa bar with fresh picante, jalapeños and several salsas. It was packed with many locals which is always a good thing! We had several different dishes, I had chicken flautas with a side cup of posole. My husband and his sister had the signature dish (can't remember name). But here's the gist...it's hot! No sour crème, no beer, no soda or water could help reduce the heat. I enjoyed a few bites of the posole but that was hot and we were blowing thru chips! Btw...we enjoy hot Mexican but this was just not for me...while my husband loved it, he paid dearly! Lol this is the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5...for babies like me! However, our waitress was lovely, and we might go back but I'll be far more cautious. So...if you like heat...this is your Mecca! read more
