Was about a 20 minute wait. Thought it would be a little less packed at 2:30 but it was a Sunday so I was prepared to wait. Food was good. Service was excellent. My son barreled through the chips and delicious salsa. I had to make him save room for his meal. It was definitely southern NMexican food not the northern I am used to, but it was tasty. Traveling back from Aquila, Texas to southern Arizona after watching the eclipse we needed a place to have lunch. We picked this restaurant based on the reviews we saw on google and yelp. There was no wait for the tables and the service was exceptional. But everything paled in comparison to the food which was off the chain. Combination plate 1 with a green enchilada, Chilli Rellenno and the Green Chili Con Carne were exceptional. My only caution is that thier salsas are hot - like really really hot. As a Pasadena kid, I grew up just a few blocks from the Rose Parade Route. Years of enduring millions of visitors to town--along with the nuances and nuisances they bring with them--have prompted my Mrs. and me to get the heck out of town for the New Year. Our trip this year took us through Arizona and New Mexico, places we've passed through before but never really stopped to enjoy. Granted, Las Cruces may not be at the top of your list to ring in the new year, but for us, the quiet natural beauty of places like White Sands National Park, Carlsbad Caverns, Cloudcroft and the Lincoln National Forest, Saguaro National Park, Guadalupe National Park... are among the best ways to celebrate being a year older and wiser. Between our adventures in Creation, the kids got hungry, and so did we. SoCal folks have a lot of choices when it comes to Mexican food, and despite the name of the state in which we found ourselves, I hate to admit I wasn't crazy about the fare... that is, until we found Andele! A little side trip to La Masilla to do the touristy stuff and drag out a little Billy the Kid history for our kids saw us walk a few blocks from the town square to this unassuming strip mall dominated by the restaurant. Upon entering we were quickly seated, and invited to help ourselves to the salsa bar. Baskets of chips were waiting for us on the table as we returned with little cups of red, green, chipotle, and pico de gallo salsas to dip, dredge, and damn-near drink. Each was tasty and fresh. Since it was Tuesday, we ordered a ten-taco platter of pollo and carne asada. We opted not for the four Coronitas (long drive ahead, and beers make me sleepy... plus I don't have even a sip if I'll be driving kids) as well as a few other items. Because it intrigued me, I also ordered a four item combo consisting of a flauta, a chile relleno, an enchilada, and chili verde. Served with rice and beans, it was a meal suitable for sharing (and we did). Service was impeccable, even though my kidlets have a bad habit of running servers (we're working on it as a family), and everything was delectable. While this one was a block or two outside of the town square, it was worth the short walk... a walk that was appreciated after we made pigs of ourselves and were stuffed to the gills! Notably, the restaurant has ample parking in a lot out front. The restaurant also has a small gift shop where you can buy assorted stuff, including salsa jars and a few Hatch-chile related items. This will be our stop again in Las Cruces when we meander out to explore our great country. Flying may be faster, but nothing beats a road trip on which you find a rare gem like Andele's! read more

We are just passing thru and were so lucky to find Andele!!! I ordered a sangria before we looked at the menu. We ordered the Taco platter w 4 7oz beers. We got pork and steak and chose the slaw with it. It was so good that we both ate till we could not eat any more and took some to go back to the hotel. The food and the service were both top notch!!!! The prices were so reasonable too. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely make a stop here. Four words. Green chile chicken enchilada. I'm sure there are other good choices on the menu, but my eyes and very soul zero in on these incredible enchiladas every time I stop in. If it's your first time, trust me and order these. If it's your second, third, or fourth visit, I would also recommend the green chile chicken enchiladas. These enchiladas are incredibly creamy, filling, and have just the right amount of heat. I brought my parents here to try them about two years ago when they were visiting town and they still ask about them and whether I've had any lately to this day. We are in town on vacation and decided to give this place a try. We are from northern NM and I found out very quickly that New Mexican food in the southern part of state is quite different. The green Chile was like queso and not true green Chile sauce. The salsa bar was nice, but nothing mild except for pico. I love hot salsa, bit the salsa was watery and not chunky. Southern NM has the best Mexican restaurants/food EVER and Andele will never disappoint. Seriously the Mexican food is the one thing I sincerely miss about living in southern NM. We ate here before leaving town during our last visit. YUM! Our son and his new wife had a taco bar setup for the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding and it was delicious and affordable. I loved the posole (expensive tho) and their streak was amazing because I love my asada to be a little charred and crispy on their ends. They also have a great salsa bar. The one thing that I don't recommend are their enchiladas. For some perplexing reason their green sauce is a green-cheesy-creamy-sauce. Yuck, unless you like a velveeta sauce.. My mom and I were staying in Las Cruces for the night. We asked the front desk about 'must try' local spots. He recommended Andele. When we arrived they had a nice outdoor sitting area with heaters. The inside eating area was closed, which is fine we preferred outside. The staff was friendly and during this time of COVID they were taking precautions. The server said, "everyone comes for the tacos or the green chile enchiladas". I ordered the enchiladas and they were delicious!! The server said it was mild but in my opinion it was more than mild, but still very yummy! I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone in town visiting. read more

Okay I could eat here every day and I wouldn't get tired of it! When you walk up you feel the community, the waiters/waitresses knew their customer names and welcomed them with warm greetings. They have an extended covered patio set up that is perfect for warm weather dining. I felt very safe throughout my entire experience. Amazing nachos. Delicious tacos. And spectacular pork enchiladas with green Chile sauce. It's not your typical green Chile, maybe it was hidden under all of the cheese but WOW. If someone can ship me some of that green Chile I would pay big bucks for it. Oh I forgot to mention, huge portions and I mean huge! Was given this place as a local recommendation, so we thought we'd give it a try. We settled in to our table and ordered a couple of margaritas to get use started. When the chips and salsa were brought out, we took a trip up to the salsa bar in order to sample a few other sauces / dips. The salsa bar had a wide variety of choices and the chips we were brought were warm and thin. In time, our meals arrived. I ordered the green chili chicken enchiladas with an over easy egg on top. Unfortunately (for my palette) it was way too spicy even with plenty of queso on top. this heat detracted from my enjoyment of the dish, which appears to be well prepared. The plate came with sides of rice and (refried) beans which looked to be fairly standard issue. Service was prompt and friendly, and the experience was fine...just wish my meal could have been less spice and more flavor. read more

My wife and I stopped in here on a trip through Las Cruces, because it was dog friendly. It's kind of an odd physical layout, with two separate restaurants. The dog-friendly one is on one side of the street, with a separate non-dog oriented version right across the street. It was a very hot day, so we decided to leave the dogs at the hotel, but the dog-friendly version of the restaurant seemed very popular. There was a long-line to get in, on a weeknight. Therefore, we decided to try the non-dog version. I'm a big Mexican food fan and like it with some spice. Andele has nice salsa bar, with several choices, some of them very high on the heat scale. One gentleman too the time to stop at our table just to explain the salsa bar. Not hard to figure out, but was very courteous to do so. Placed our order for some carne asada, food came out pretty quick, ordered some guacamole and some queso as an appetizer came out before the meal. Queso was nice and velvety smooth, seasoned well and came to us nice and hot. Guacamole looked really fresh and was nice and creamy with a few chunks of avocado here and there. Andele's has done the smart thing and taken a huge chunk of their parking lot and made outdoor dining during this weird year. And unlike many local places that have sat a few tables on the parking lot and set up a temporary fence, Andele's has made it an actual outdoor dining area. It's like the big tent at your rich friend's wedding. There's cooling fans and misters, actual decor and something under your feet besides asphalt. Look, I still think the only thing there that's exceptionally tasty is the green chile chicken enchiladas. Plus now the salsa bar is non existent outside. So it's still just an average place for Las Cruces Mexican food scene. So still 3 stars for the food. But an extra one for trying so hard to make us all comfortable in a very uncomfortable situation. read more

I stop by at least twice a year when I travel back and forth to the west coast. Las Cruces is my favorite stop, and Andele and its staff are very friendly and hospitable. The wife and I wanted something different for breakfast and we wanted to actually sit down. COVID and all, you know. They had a tent setup in the parking lot for outdoor seating. Nicely decorated as well. Temperature in October in the morning was perfect. I got a breakfast burrito - egg and chorizo. With jalapeño, tomatoes and onions chopped. Chunked potatoes and refried beans on the side. $7 total. Awesome! Wife got omelette with queso poured over. Also potato on the side. Also $7. I thought at those prices, they'd be small portions. They weren't. It was a lot of food. Didn't think I'd be able to eat it all. I did though, couldn't stop eating. The service was excellent, the food was excellent. Very popular Mexican Food restaurant near Old Mesilla, New Mexico. Not much of an ambience and not over decorated, basically just a restaurant type seating and environment. Parking is a challenge. There is ample parking across the street but you do risk crossing the street especially you've got little ones with you as there is no traffic signal or crosswalk. Menu consisted of the typical Mexican food offerings. I'm not a big fan of chile rellenos, as I believe it's included in some of their combination plates. I ordered a combination plate that didn't come with one. My wife ordered a carne adovada plate combo which she found to be rather dry. On a scale of 1-10, I give their food quality a solid 6. Not good, not bad. Prices were reasonable for a lunch menu. Service was excellent! Very friendly staff. I prefer a more authentic Mexican cuisine. If you are in the Las Cruces area, I recommend Nellies Café on Hadley Street. It's small, so expect a line to get in, but the wait is worth it and the food is excellent! read more

All I have to say is this place is worth the wait! This place was packed on a Sunday evening and now I know why. First off I am a salsa addict and they kept the chips coming and the salsa bar fully stocked. The traditional and jalapeño tomatillo salsa were excellent.
