Dinner, 4 Beef Taco plate and Verde combination plate.
Chuck D.

We are in town for New Mexico State University Softball . Our first stop was Mesilla when we came to town. We took the advice of Google when asked for a local favorite for dinner. Location is in a little strip however we know places at home that are so good in a little strip like this. Greeted right away and seated. The hostess told us about the Salsa bar. So we had to give the different types of Salsa a try along with the fresh chips that she Sat us us with. Waitress came over and took our drink order in seconds. We ordered the taco plate(beef) and Verde combination platter. Out came our drinks with an order of guacamole. Less than 5 minutes later our food came out. Our waitress was very attentive. The beef tacos were deconstructed and came with a bean soup. The beef was tender and a lot on the plate. So much that the corn tortillas couldn't hold it all. Amanda cleaned her plate. Truly enjoyed the dinner. Inside the restaurant was very authentic with plenty of seating. There is a side room that can hold even more. We always ask, would we come back? Yes we would.

We were in town for 1 day and several friends told us we HAD to eat at Andele's. We arrived for a late lunch and were sat right away. Service was quick and friendly. We enjoyed the salsa bar and all of our meals.

Stacked enchiladas - Christmas (1/2 red & green chile)
Carissa V.

If you're looking for authentic New Mexican flavor, Andele's is a must-stop in Las Cruces! The red chile is bold, rich, and everything you'd hope for if you're a traditionalist--it's a must-try. But if you lean toward green chile (and love queso), their green chile is unlike any other--more like a creamy, cheesy chile dip than a sauce. My advice? Get both and order it Christmas style. Every dish was packed with true New Mexico flavor--comforting, spicy, and incredibly tasty with amazing service. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the atmosphere is casual and welcoming. A total gem for locals and visitors alike!

Marinated pork w/avocado and rice and beans, 4 flour tortillas and a Side of Guacamole Sangria
Joelle M.

Just a typical fast food Mexican restaurant, no seasoning on the red sauce meat and basic rice/beans. Sangria wasn't anything too special either. Chips were thick n salted good. Salsa was a bit spicy but gave my taco the help it needed. Shout out to Ben, he was a good server, checked in regularly and for getting me salsa-since back area was getting cleaned for the night. Decent priced $33 w/tip. Got recommended from front help at the Hampton Inn. Was so looking forward to good Mexican food since traveling from VA, missed our usual location and was quite disappointed at Andele. Don't need to come back here.

This place is always hopping. Staff is nice and attentive. Food is good though I will admit the steak on its own, was not my favorite. It was sad so I've adapted and have been defaulting to the burgers which is something I never thought I'd do at a Mexican restaurant but here I am. It is very good and I continue to order it. It can get loud in here but it's a fun place

Green chile enchiladas with chicken

I had the green chile enchiladas with chicken, and they were delicious. The flavor of the sauce was excellent, and this restaurant is a nice relaxed environment.

What a great unassuming spot! We had tried going to the doghouse, but the wait was long and were told we could try Andele across the street - same food, same menu. Although it was packed, we were seated promptly. Our server was friendly and answered all our question. I loved the salsa bar - so many options for everyone's palates. The pork al carbon tacos were so tasty! The fries with cheese and added beef were also really great. Don't miss this place if you're visiting.

Always always always a good experience! The food is consistently good! My favorite order is: enchiladas with chicken, onion, egg, and sour cream. I have ordered it way more times than I have yelped it. I highly recommend. You may have to wait, it may be busy, the price is a bit high. But, it's the best green enchiladas anywhere!

Being from So Cal and having been to New Mexico several times, I wasn't expecting much, but the wife wanted to prove me wrong, so she picked this place and Wow! * Draft beer under $5 (for 24 oz) * Flan for $5 * All you can eat Menudo for $10, * Al Carbon Tacos for $12 (they say enough for 4, but I also used my wife's large tortilla for the remaining ingredients to make a large taco (so I'll say 5.5 tacos) * A very good Salsa Bar (the Chipotle sauce was the BOMB!) This place was awesome!

Taco Platter for two. Lots of meat. Two bowls of flavorful beans. Plenty of guacamole.

The complimentary (first round) of chips and salsa was above par. The menu was descriptive and the service was friendly. We ordered the fajita tacos and the combination lunch plate (chicken hard taco, green chile con carne, green enchilada, and a chile relleno) with borracho beans and rice. The fajita tacos and chile con carne were okay, but the enchilada was weak and the relleno was filled with some sort of liquid cheese that poured out in the first lukewarm bite. Rice was okay. Beans were overwhelmingly over-seasoned with oregano. The combo plate was drowning in broth from the chile con carne. We were disappointed hearing that this place had such great green chiles, but it was all so watered-down that we didn't taste much of the chile flavor. :(

Prices were about what you'd expect, nothing crazy. The desserts were just as solid--very tasty and a great way to wrap things up. I came into town to help care for my uncle while he was battling cancer. This was not his first…read morefight. It was his seventh round with a different cancer. He has beaten stage four cancer three separate times. Needless to say, his career military background and having just retired in October 2025 served him well. He has faced every diagnosis head-on like the true American soldier he is. During one of our quiet conversations, he shared something that clearly weighed on him. He was heartbroken that he never got the chance to take his wife out for their 55th wedding anniversary in December because he was in the hospital. The next day, I asked him a simple question. If you could pick one restaurant within a 100-mile radius, just one, where would you want to go once you had your strength back? Without hesitation, he said La Posta. Over the next few weeks, a lot changed. He was released from the hospital. He slowly began to regain his strength. First the cane went away, then short walks turned into longer ones, and eventually he was even driving himself from LC to EPT for doctor's appointments. When I finally asked if he felt strong enough to go to that meal we had talked about, he lit up. He started telling me stories. How his father used to bring him to La Posta. How it had remained top notch throughout the years. He went into detail about every menu item he loved. But the one thing he really wanted me to understand was the ambiance. You will get it when you are there, he told me. I called to see if they took reservations. We were not even sure they did. A young woman named Priscilla answered the phone. I explained the situation. My uncle was finally strong enough to return to his favorite restaurant, one that held a lifetime of memories, and he had missed celebrating his 55th wedding anniversary. I told her I wanted to surprise them and make the night unforgettable. I even mentioned I was planning to have flowers delivered. Priscilla did not hesitate. She immediately connected me with her manager, Teresa. I asked if we could have a larger table than one meant for three people because my uncle wanted to order everything. Honestly, I just wanted him to eat, to enjoy himself, to feel normal again. Teresa agreed without question. Then something unexpected happened. Teresa explained that Priscilla was a single mom of two who had recently started a floral business on the side and truly wanted to help make this night special. She asked if it would be okay to involve her. Of course, I said yes. I was transferred back to Priscilla and told her to go big. No expense spared. I gave her full creative freedom and an unlimited budget. Unbeknownst to me, Priscilla partnered with a friend who specialized in balloon arrangements. What she created was nothing short of breathtaking. Place cards. Multiple floral centerpieces. An ornate floral display. A large professional sign welcoming my aunt and uncle to the restaurant. She handled everything with grace, professionalism, and kindness, even as our party grew from three people to thirteen. And then the story took a turn. The day before the dinner, my uncle was rushed into emergency surgery. Suddenly, everything was uncertain. Half the family canceled to stay at the hospital. We kept Priscilla updated as events unfolded. Not once did she complain. Not once did she lose her composure. She adapted to every change with pure professionalism and empathy. She even adjusted the floral arrangements when we decided to bring flowers and food to the hospital instead. That is when I learned that the owners of La Posta had been informed of the situation. The male manager on duty, and I regret not remembering his name, passed along a message from them expressing their deepest condolences and gratitude. He also shared that they wished they could have been there to meet my uncle. There really are still good people in this world. After her shift ended at 4 p.m., Priscilla went to pick up her kids and then came back to the restaurant just to meet me. She walked me through everything she had created and explained the work behind it. When I asked how much I owed her, she paused and said she wanted to bless my family and could not accept payment. I was overwhelmed. Her work would have easily cost four to five hundred dollars. I insisted on tipping her at the very least, and she reluctantly agreed. The food that night was incredible. We had a wonderful server, and the food was amazing. We ordered extra meals to go so my cousins could bring my uncle his favorite dishes back to the hospital. It was a small way to lift his spirits during one of the darkest moments our family has faced. My uncle asked me to thank you for the food. And I want to thank everyone at La Posta for the hospitality, the compassion, and the humanity. When my uncle regains his strength and comes home again, we will return with his wife so he can finally give her the 55th wedding anniversary dinner they both deserve.

I ordered a couple of Chili Rellenos with rice and beans. These are Hatch chilies my good readers. They were unbelievably good. You can't match the Hatch when it comes to chilies. There has to be something in the dirt that makes them superior to any other. I should pick some of that up and sprinkle it on my lawn where the gardener killed the grass. Nope, bad idea. The fricken gophers would be in heaven. The chips and salsa are no slouch either. You get plenty of chips and four different salsas to tempt you. Careful though, the green one has a kick. When asked what kind of sauce I'd like on the rellenos, I told the server, NOT THE GREEN ONE! She laughed and said that they have a mild version. I opted for that. It was perfect for blanketing the entree. I didn't get dessert, cause the hotel where I was staying had a sign by the front desk stating that fresh baked cookies will be served. Well, that was a bust. The cookie lady said that the power where she bakes was out. So no cookies. I guess the old saying is true. It's better to have Flan in the hand than cookies on a sign. Quick Tip: Try to get seated by the indoor fountain. The pleasant sound of the trickling water will compliment your experience. That is unless you've been drinking a few beers. Then it may not be the trickling sound from the fountain that you're hearing.
