I found this on Yelp when I got to my hotel but the wife wanted something else for dinner so I planned my lunch for the next day here. Am I glad that I did. NYC obviously has a million choices for food but I wanted a pizza by the slice as I have not always had the best of luck with pizza on previous trips. When you walk in to the small store with a few tables and a counter you are immediately greeted by the friendly guys behind the counter who seem excited to help you. Great service! I ordered three slices which for someone not from NYC meant about a whole medium pizza back home. I am not complaining. All three slices, sausage/pepperoni, meat lovers, and a Hawaiian were delicious! I ate every single bite! My favorite? That's tough. Was looking for a good, quick slice. I wandered into Andiamo. First off, service was great. The guys were so friendly. Greeted me. They were nice to all the customers in there. Made it feel like they appreciated your business. They had alot of options available for slices, but the margherita one caught my eye. They popped it in the oven for a few minutes. It came out piping hot and just pefect. It's a typical small pizza shop that sells slices, but has a ton of options and friendly staff. The inside has a few tables. I stopped in here on a whim, as it was the closest (open) pizza place to the bar I was leaving, and I would have been happy with anything hot and greasy, but was pleasantly surprised to have what is now my favorite slice I've had in NYC. Greasy but not too greasy, crispy crust. 10/10! I had the vodka slice after getting back to my hotel, and it was ice cold (through no fault of the restaurant, let me be clear). I could have microwaved it, but was feeling lazy. It didn't matter, because even cold and congealed, it was great. Again -- crust, sauce, and toppings were all flavorful. Delicious vodka sauce. Crispy crust. 11/10! I can only imagine how good it would have been if I ate it hot when they handed it to me! If plain cheese is this good, and a cold slice is this good, I'd imagine a non-cheese slice, hot, would be otherworldly. As I was taking a moment to ask my 4-year-old what she would like to order and figure out my own choice, one of them made an inappropriate remark suggesting I should have more children--an unprofessional and completely unnecessary comment that left me uneasy. Beyond the poor service, the food itself was underwhelming. At $6 per slice, I expected far better quality, but what I received was mediocre at best. Quick, cheap and delicious! Good pizza doesn't always mean there has to be a line around the corner. This pie shop has a variety of options that you can order by the slice so that you can try more than 1. The thin NY style slices were large and scrumptious , but the thicker rectangular slices were not a hit. The thicker ones were pretty dry and had the consistency of styrofoam, so I wouldn't recommend those. There was plenty of foot traffic while we were there of people grabbing slices to go, so pizza stays coming out fresh. read more

The pizza slices here are 50% larger than most of the other slices that you would find in the city. Moreover, I counted at least ten different variations and styles of pizza. From NY style to deep dish thick crust pizza. I ordered just two regular cheese slices and it was awesomely delicious. It was also served hot, almost too hot, and I needed to give it a few minutes to cool down. When I walked in, I was greeted by someone in charge and he took my order without hesitation.
