A gorgeous little spot that definitely feels classy. Either arrive early or make a reservation because the place fills up quick! Overall we found the food to be fine but nothing to write home about which made the prices feel inflated. Our waitress was great but we seemed to be forgotten by the busboys when we needed water. Overall, we'd try it again to see if maybe we just weren't impressed by what we got.

Wonderful time with friends here last night. We had eaten here once before, but we sat outside & never went in. The interior is LOVELY. Clean & white, with muted lighting. Tables are close... so it can get a bit loud if you have any hearing issues. We had Scottish salmon with lentils & green beans. DELICIOUS! Our guests had the trout and cleaned their plates & commented how good it was. Staff was helpful, attentive & friendly. The only downside to the meal (besides a screaming baby, which was not the restaurant's fault, but annoying) was the Caprese Salad special. We were a bit surprised that it didn't have basil (capers instead) -- a bit weird, but we like capers, so that would have been OK, but the huge, beautiful tomato slices were mealy... past their prime. We only ate one slice each of tomato, but we finished the capers/mozzarella cheese. We will DEFINITELY go back. The main dishes were worth a return visit!

However, I was pleasantly surprised. I was greeted super warmly and was educated on their menu as the host led me to my table (this place is sprawling and has inside and outside tables). My server greeted me immediately and was so helpful in her recommendations. She was truly interested in giving me the best experience as opposed to running the bill up for a bigger tip. Fresh out of the museum of New Mexico, I had learned adovada is a native dish, so I went with the carne adovada plate. Made with slow roasted lean pork, marinated in red Chile, garlic, and oregano. Served with cheese blue corn, red Chile, and onion. With a. side of pinto beans. It was spicy. Not HOT, but not "white people" spicy. It was warm and filling. Delicious. As far as margaritas, all I had were great. I had one of their premium 24 dollar margs, but it wasn't any better than the 12 dollar one recommended by the server. They also offer huevos rancheros, various enchiladas, tamales, burritos, tacos. For those wishing to go a little more americanized (but then why would you come here), they have a buffalo burger, grilled chicken sandwich, and regular burgers. Don't let the crowd deter you. I was seated immediately mid day on a Friday. It's right on the plaza so you can stop off here during your shopping and exploring.

This morning, a few minutes before their scheduling opening time, we walked by; the door was open and a manager was sitting on a chair. The menu is fairly extensive and a kind of weird mashup of Indian with other cuisines. So creative! And best of all it's vegetarian and can easily be made vegan! You order at the counter and they bring it to your table when it's ready. We ordered four dishes (tacos, dosadilla, doselada, and a calzone) and shared at the table. And everything was really good. For years, their samosas were some of the best: perfectly seasoned potato filling in a lightly friend pocket alongside some date chutney sauce. On their updated menu, samosas were listed as 25%, so I went for 2 thinking the portions were as they had been for the last 15 years. Sadly, this was not so. They were more like tiny hot pockets, baked pizza dough, with a rather bland, flavorless filling. Alongside a #3 cup of veggie of the day and $16 later, I realized my journey with Annapurna had come to an end, and I would not be returning. Also, I noticed the oat milk being added to the $7 oat chai was Kirkland brand, which consists of: (filtered water, organic rolled oat flour), organic sunflower oil, calcium carbonate, organic natural flavors, sunflower lecithin, sea salt, vitamin A palmitate, ergocalciferol (vitamin D2), riboflavin (vitamin B2), and cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) . Some listings also describe it as fortified and organic, with no added sugar noted in one review source. I'm not an Ayurvedic doctor, but these ingredients and the quality of the food have declined considerably over the last years, which is sad. Such are the times...

Apparently moles aren't all dark chocolate spicy sauces ... ?!?? Loved the education and samples. I'm typically not a mole fan, but they were fun to try. We had the octopus but to me the sauce was too oily. The actual octopus was tender and delicious. Also had the duck skin tacos which were more of a minced duck meat taco and delish. The 5 stars go for impeccable service and the SOUP. This soup is not to be missed. Nothing on paper makes me think it should work but it totally does. It's a big lump of blue crap topped with creamy poblano pepper soup with whipped cream and amaretto and then topped with a spicy kick. Someone said cinnamon but for me it tasted more like hot red chili powder. Sounds incredibly weird but it was the best dish I've had in forever. The service was good after we got settled in, our waiter was attentive and the chef stopped by several time to check-in on us. My husband loved the pork dishes he tried, including the pork belly and the pork with your choice of mole. I agree that they did a nice job with the pork. The Azteca (yellow fin tuna crudite) was tasty, but a bit saucy and a little too salty. The Soup de Amor is a must get! And if you are a fan of tequila, they do flights with sangrita. I read a review that this place would benefit from having a set tasting menu, and I am in agreement. But for now the option is to share multiple dishes if there is a larger group.

Unfortunately I was highly disappointed by food and service. I ordered fish and shrimp taco. The food wasn't bad but it's didn't come with a side of salsa or any sort of sauce. I was surprised to find them close even though online says that they are open at 11am that day. I checked on google and it was suppose to be open. I called and they said that they are open but waiting for alcohol to be delivered at 3pm. Did they assume that every customer coming in is ordering alcohol? As far as I understand this is a restaurant that serves food and alcohol and not a bar. Shortly after my arrival, there was a large tour with 12 people showed up. I could see that the waiter was a bit flustered because he also had to tend to other customer as well as the tour. I guess this is where the tour take people for authentic taco experience. In my opinion these are more toned down gringo tacos. My taco didn't come with a side of sauce like everyone else. I also noticed that the tour all received a side of salsa which I didn't. I'm not sure if the waiter forgot. I had to flag down the waiter a few time because he also forgot my drink. I also ordered an agua Fresca watermelon and it wasn't made of real watermelon but flavor syrup from the bar. I wished I had known that it wasn't real melon. 2.5 stars for the food and 2 for service. Again food wasn't terrible, but certainly wasn't close to be the best.

It sounded good, so we decided to check it out. It's a little hard to find as it sits behind another building. You have to kind of go around the block to get there. We wound up asking in the restaurant and it was fine. The place is pleasant inside. Lots of nice decorations. And there was a steady stream of people coming in and ordering takeout. The menu is on the small side, but the dishes they have all looked really good. One member of our party has a nut allergy, and several dishes have cashews - so the menu was even more limiting for him. But the staff were great. Several people talked to him about what he could eat, and brought out the binder that showed what was "safe." We wound up getting several of the mushroom uttapam and a white truffle dosa. They came with chutney and sambar accompaniments, some of which were flavorful but a little spicy. All in all a great meal.
