HALF an order of Mezheh Appetizer plate! DELICIOUS!
    Donna S.

Wonderful time with friends here last night. We had eaten here once before, but we sat outside & never went in. The interior is LOVELY. Clean & white, with muted lighting. Tables are close... so it can get a bit loud if you have any hearing issues. We had Scottish salmon with lentils & green beans. DELICIOUS! Our guests had the trout and cleaned their plates & commented how good it was. Staff was helpful, attentive & friendly. The only downside to the meal (besides a screaming baby, which was not the restaurant's fault, but annoying) was the Caprese Salad special. We were a bit surprised that it didn't have basil (capers instead) -- a bit weird, but we like capers, so that would have been OK, but the huge, beautiful tomato slices were mealy... past their prime. We only ate one slice each of tomato, but we finished the capers/mozzarella cheese. We will DEFINITELY go back. The main dishes were worth a return visit!

The overall experience for the money was so-so. I would not recommend this restaurant personally for the price. If you want a better experience MAKE A RESERVATION. Otherwise make other plans. The food was presented in a decent fashion. The potatos where a bit dry and the asparagus was cold. The steak was decent as it was a special for the evening that was not on the menu (I know it's an Italian restaurant). The server we had was acceptable in the sense we received our food.

The menu is fairly extensive and a kind of weird mashup of Indian with other cuisines. So creative! And best of all it's vegetarian and can easily be made vegan! You order at the counter and they bring it to your table when it's ready. We ordered four dishes (tacos, dosadilla, doselada, and a calzone) and shared at the table. And everything was really good. We may take an opportunity to go back while we're in Santa Fe. Totally fun.

For years, their samosas were some of the best: perfectly seasoned potato filling in a lightly friend pocket alongside some date chutney sauce. On their updated menu, samosas were listed as 25%, so I went for 2 thinking the portions were as they had been for the last 15 years. Sadly, this was not so. They were more like tiny hot pockets, baked pizza dough, with a rather bland, flavorless filling. Alongside a #3 cup of veggie of the day and $16 later, I realized my journey with Annapurna had come to an end, and I would not be returning. Also, I noticed the oat milk being added to the $7 oat chai was Kirkland brand, which consists of: (filtered water, organic rolled oat flour), organic sunflower oil, calcium carbonate, organic natural flavors, sunflower lecithin, sea salt, vitamin A palmitate, ergocalciferol (vitamin D2), riboflavin (vitamin B2), and cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) . Some listings also describe it as fortified and organic, with no added sugar noted in one review source. I'm not an Ayurvedic doctor, but these ingredients and the quality of the food have declined considerably over the last years, which is sad. Such are the times...

Meeting the chef made the evening even more special! We enjoyed the incredible Pulpo, the famous Sopa de Amor, crispy Pork Belly, the unforgettable Enmolado de Pato (Muscovy duck with sweet potatoes and Chef Olea's signature mole), and ended with the iconic Dulce Sinfonía dessert. Every dish was a masterpiece of flavor, artistry, and passion. If you're visiting Santa Fe, Sazón belongs at the top of your list. Wonderful Ambiance! Hmmm...food was not as impressive as the first time. This…read morewas our second time at Sazon--my partner brought me here for a surprise birthday dinner. The atmosphere is upscale and beautiful--love the decor and artwork. The service was on point; our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The food this time was just ok, except for the Sopa de Amor: Chef Olea's signature soup--that was heaven in our mouths. The steak (Popocatepetl: spicy black pepper crusted aged angus beef tenderloin / red cabbage and snow peas in cilantro vinaigrette / jasmine rice) we shared looked nothing like the description. Either our server was clueless regarding gluten-free, because this wasn't up to our standards for a high-end restaurant--the flavor wasn't the same as we remembered from several years ago, and the steak (medium rare) inside was colder--not room temperature, so I ended up not eating all of mine. Plus we had to ask for rice--which should have come with our meal since there isn't flour or any ingredients that would have made this harmful to me. Also, the side of asparagus it came with wasn't bright green and crispy--it was yellowish and flimsy-looking and tasting. For the price, this should have been more on point than what it was. We had split a steak, shared a soup, had a bottle of wine, two glasses of champagne, and a dessert--oh, and a $12 split change (something they suggested--even though my partner and I were fine eating from the same plate)...the bill was almost $400 with tax & tip. The dessert however, was presented beautifully with mixed berries and a liquor which was then lit on fire--a festive dessert option since I have a gluten allergy. There are so many wonderful restaurants. Unfortunately, the food did not leave us craving to come back for more. If the service and decor wasn't so impressive, Sazon would have received one stars.

Would never come back again. ============= This review got flagged by Yelp HQ, let me rewrite this and be clear of what happened. I walked into El Callejon Taqueria and Grill, located on 208 Galisteo St Santa Fe, NM 87501 on Aug 22 2026. It was on a Saturday night, right before 9pm. This was my first weekend in the city of Santa Fe, on both Yelp and Google this location shows the restaurant closes at 11pm. When I walked in the bartender told me that it was closed. I wouldn't care that a business is closed before the listed hours; it was the way the bartender went about it. He could have politely told me that the kitchen was closed, and I would not have had any problem with it. He walked up to me within arm's length and continuously repeated "sorry we are closed" multiple times while getting closer to me. It was one of the worst experiences I have had to get escorted "asked" out of a restaurant. The experience was not good. To be clear I never get to try the food here.
