Visited in early August 2020 and was very pleased with the food and service here! We didn't have a reservation but got a table right away under the covered patio. They seemed to take appropriate precautions around COVID-19 - spaced out tables, masks, contact tracing, etc. All 3 dishes we ordered were delicious (tuna puttanesca, trout, and spaghetti/meatballs). Stephanie has an issue with people of color and did not want us to have a seat on the inside of the restaurant. They seated us in an outside area and as we were sitting there waiting for the food, a raccoon started crawling on the fence coming towards our table. We alerted Stephanie on the inside and she came outside to simply state "oh, it's gone now", as if we were going to continue to sit outside and just wait for the raccoon to come back and attack us. Mind you, it hadn't not left it was just up in the tree. Nonetheless, when we were seated inside they brought us food from the kitchen that was luke warm. We ordered wine and bread quickly., also daily salad special of Caprese. The caprese was excellent. The bread never came and the wine took 25 minutes, arriving halfway through our salads. I ordered the special, which was an Alfredo with pesto and chicken. The Alfredo sauce was only oil , as far as I could tell, with some pesto. No cream component. The free gluten free noodles seemed liked Asian glass noodles, not what I would expect with Alfredo. We felt ignored. Everything took forever. Giving 3 stars is being generous. read more

This quiet little gem is tucked away on a side street and is easy to miss. But once you're inside, it's got great ambiance. It's got a come in and relax type of vibe. The soup of the day was roasted corn and it was superb. Just the right balance between sweet and savory. The chicken parmesan and spaghetti was excellent. I was a bit wary at first as it's a huge portion and some restaurants try to make up for lack flavor with bigger quantities. That was definitely not the case here. The sauce was different than what I'm used to and the change was welcome. The chocolate custard is homemade and was amazing. Be warned, it's small but suuuuper rich and decadent. Coming to Santa Fe, we don't always just look forward to traditional northern New Mexico cuisine. We have found and enjoyed places that mix in local advantages of produce, etc into their dishes. This is one of our favorites. Last night, we enjoyed a traditional pear salad with wonderful citrus dressing to go with pasta dishes that stand on their own. Local lamb and beef, make for wonderful sausages and meatballs. The sauce with anchovies, not sourced from the Santa Fe river, was warming on a cold night too. The rooms feel cozy and lend to conversation without being too loud. Very attentive and friendly service too, something hard to pull off in these Covid times. read more

What a delicious classy charming Italian restaurant but my so small! Make reservations!!! Luckily we had reservations but this darling place is what used to be an old home. We were seated probably 5 inches from another table this is my one and only complaint about this place is how tight squeeze you are. It was very uncomfortable having to suck in and squeeze by anytime you had to use the restroom or anything not to mention being able to hear What the person right next to you is saying. Now onto the good stuff the food! Bread and butter is not complementary here you have to order it but I highly recommend ordering it because the sourdough is so Oooey gooey and thick it melts in your mouth! If only they served it warm. We also got the caprese salad as an appetizer and devoured every last bite so fresh. I ordered the shrimp spaghetti and it was amazing so much shrimp was served with it i was hesitant with photos i saw thinking they were staged or something but nope they really do give you that much shrimp! Pasta is light and filling. My mom ordered The chicken Parmesan and she is not an Italian fan by any means but she cleaned her plate and said it was the best she has ever had and the entire trip was worth this meal alone. Service was excellent it was almost like we were at a fancy steakhouse as they had water boys watching your drinks constantly. The food was forgettable. I was there yesterday and all I remember is that the penne pasta was so over cooked it was falling apart on my plate. If anything the only redeeming quality of this place was the price point. Our table of three ordered three entrees, two appetizers, two deserts, and three drinks for about $130 before the 20% tip we added. That's where the positives end. This was the most uncomfortable dining experience I have ever had. Our entire table felt it. First when we approached the hostess stand, a server dismissed us and made a snarky comment about how the hostess would be with us when they were available. No one else was waiting, and we had made a reservation. We were sat at a cramped corner table, all of our knees were touching. Many described the place as "cozy" which is incredibly generous given every foot of available floor place was occupied by a table or chair. This place was cramped. Then when the server finally came over to take our order, he did not look at us once. He was dismissive and rude. As was the rest of the wait staff. This was the first place we visited during our three day visit, that may have been a blessing given every place shined by comparison Good company is what made this dinner bearable. read more

what a delicious dinner spot! this was our first stop in Santa Fe and it was delicious. we did not have a reservation but we thankfully seated right away. the portions are massive and the quality was excellent. we started with sage bakehouse's sourdough bread and olive oil and a salad special which had endive, arugula, pear, apple, and parmigiano which was so fresh and delicious. i ordered the spaghetti and meatballs which had a great sauce but the meatballs were a little tough and hard to cut. my mom ordered the chicken piccata which was really good, the sauce was perfect, but the spinach could have been cooked a little longer. the portions are quite large so if you're not starving, I'd recommend sharing or being prepared for leftovers.even though we were kind of full, they had my favorite dessert on the menu, chocolate pot de creme, so we had to get it. it was so good, definitely order it if you like chocolate! read more

First of all I recognize there is a labor shortage here in 2021 and I am very cognizant that it is affecting everybody. I know servers and kitchens are likely stretched thin and I hope this gets better soon. However I don't like to make excuses for impersonal and inattentive staff. Sort of a weird thing to walk in without a reservation and seem like a burden and it take 10-15 minutes in a half full dining room to get a menu. We got the polenta appetizer which wasn't bad. My main entree was the spaghetti and meatballs. The spaghetti tasted old or like it had been boiled way ahead. Also, just my $0.02, but I'm not a fan of putting dairy in a red sauce if it isn't a dish like ziti. Let it stand on its own and be proud of it. The meatballs were very small, dry, and odd. I wouldn't be surprised if they were frozen. It was a mixed meat meatball which I like, but they were just gross. To me this is a very simple dish any home cook can get right. For us to have an appetizer, a couple of disappointing pasta dishes, and 2 glasses of wine and pay $120 seems exorbitant. Lastly we were assaulted by endless gnats during the meal. I know these guys are difficult to get rid of but that's not pleasant having bugs all over my table and food, or in my wine glass. I hate giving bad reviews because I know how hard restaurants have it right now, but I also hate feeling like I got ripped off. read more

We came here for dinner on our last night in Santa Fe. The restaurant was really crowded due to restaurant week which we accidentally walked into. The service was horrible and I'd like to give them the excuse of being busy but since when is a crowded restaurant reason for being slow at taking orders, rude to customers and waiting for a table when you have a reservation? Our server was so incredible dismissive and rude... i almost wanted to walk out on our dinner several times. We overpaid for small portions of mediocre food and a bottle of wine we really didn't want but they were out of the Chianti we tried to order, I assume, because it was restaurant week. In my opinion, much like Groupon deals, restaurants shouldn't sign up for deals like these if they can't handle a full restaurant that comes because of these deals. My two stars is given because I enjoyed my pizza. My husband's ravioli was overpriced and a very small portion and my Caesar salad was a watered down mess. Wouldn't ever return here. read more

We stopped here for lunch on our way from Denver to Phoenix, and we were really hoping for something really good since the other surrounding choices seemed a little... eh. Fortunately, Andiamo didn't disappoint. The atmosphere is very nice, being a somewhat quiet place with classical music playing over the speakers, and mostly decorated in white so it's very bright during the day. They'd just opened for lunch so we were seated right away, though we were told that it gets rather crowded during dinnertime and may require a reservation. The service was very friendly as well. The only downside I saw was the bread they brought out - it was very cold, almost like it just came out of a refrigerator, and instead of garlic or butter to accompany it we were given a bottle of olive oil. It was also sourdough bread, so the combination was just very odd and not the most pleasant. After that we ordered matchstick fries with garlic aioli, which tasted great, but the fries were so thin that if you're hungry you'd need to take many at a time to be even slightly satisfied. Then we got our entrees, which were excellent - I ordered rigatoni pasta in a cream sauce with prosciutto and peas topped with breadcrumbs, and my boyfriend spaghetti with meatballs made of beef, pork, and veal, which of course he gave me a bite of. I loved dinner here! They had a special menu and decorated the place real lovey dovey for Valentine's Day. The restaurant is a converted house with a modest front porch and a super cozy modern interior. The black and white decor reminds of breakfast at Tiffany's. I should have worn my elegant gloves and brought my long cigarette holder for this occasion. Go figure. The food is beyond great. I had the parma proscuitto and endive to start. Very delicate and fine. He had the tuna carpaccio and I have to say I liked his even better! The capers gave the dish a great salty finish and the tuna itself tasted so fresh. My chicken parmesan was perfectly breaded and the portions were pretty big. The roasted tomato sauce was awesome! It tasted like a vodka sauce and completely hit the spot. His scallops were seared just right and the beurre blanc was a total treat. You can tell all the desserts were made in-house. The flourless chocolate cake was good but I loved the lemon tart the most. The crust was so well-made and the filling was zesty. Overall, we were very pleased. The Food here was very good, I loved my meal and based off food alone would have given Andiamo 5 stars, however, the service was horrible. We had reservations but still had to wait 20+ minutes to be seating, our waiter took another 15 minutes or so even to come over to take our initial order and once he did he was very rude to us; but I won't fault the restaurant in my ratings based solely off this one individual and will settle on a rating right in the middle. Honestly I would go back to try this place again in hopes of getting a different server. Food Experience: I got the Ravioli of the Day which was stuffed with pesto and ricotta cheese and was awesome. OMG this is a hidden gem that you have to try. We stopped here intending to go somewhere else but the menu pulled us in. The Caesar salad was big enough to share. I had the lamb shank which was some of the best I have ever had. Locally sourced over mashed potatoes and tomato rague and my husband had fettuccine with mushrooms and grilled chicken. Why does Andiamo assume people want to tip their server on what the restaurant pays in sales tax. Does Andiamo tip the state and local government from the tip collected on the tax. Sorry, just ranting because I can and because I don't care for the new tipping environment. I waited tables for years and felt like I had to earn my tip. Today, it seems, we are supposed to be happy that someone showed up. Oh, and as thanks for them showing up it is suggested that you over tip. Ridiculous. read more

With partial thigh Scottish Salmon $28? Spaghetti and meatballs had significant red pepper flakes in the sauce. After a bout of throat cancer cannot eat anything that spicy . I bring everyone here. In NYC, these dishes would be $30 each instead of $15... I've gone with people of very different tastes and have yet for someone to not like whatever they've ordered. The crispy polenta (& I don't generally like polenta) is such a soft luscious gift for the mouth, it's always a go-to. The chicken PARM is perfect. Perfect. Perfect. But everything from housemade ravioli right down the menu to duck or tenderloin, is delightful. Wine selection great, good bread to go with it (from Sage Bakehouse!) & of course they serve Santa Fe's own Blue Sky ginger ale. Classy ambiance that can straddle casual or date night, depending on your need - Service always good, but it's popular for good reason & often crowded & it can be hard for them to keep up. But politely get their attention and I find they make sure you're taken care of. Having given every Italian restaurant in the city a shot, Andiamo is the one that always brings us back. There are a couple that are close-to-as-good, but way more expensive. I have NEVER been sorry I walked through the doors at Andiamo. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU ARENT WHITE!!!!! Came in and wanted a table for 2 right when they opened, the restaurant was complete empty but we didn't have a reservation. The waitress said they didn't have a table and they were booked (they literally had one table out of 20 occupied). Then we pointed one of 20 empty tables and we asked to sit. They said no, but we have this table. And it was by the kitchen in the most awkward corner. It was literally the worst table in the empty restaurant. Again. The restaurant was EMPTY except for ONE party. We left, and ate somewhere else. Drove by about an hour and a half later, and the restaurant only had a smattering of people. The only thing I can think of is that the waitresses are racist. Also they were just sitting by the kitchen talking and on their phones. Would not recommend. read more

Went to Andiamo's for restaurant week with three other friends. We all enjoyed ourselves. The food was prepared. Perfectly the chicken Parmesan with pasta was wonderful the crispy duck leg was small, but delicious served with polenta which was good. The rainbow trout was a beautiful portion, willfully deliciously, seasoned and cooked to perfection. I had a ribeye and it was good. The first steak I had in probably three years and I enjoyed every bite of it. the service was wonderful. It did take a little time between appetizers and main course but they were always constantly checking on us to see what they can do to make our stay wonderful. The ambience has markedly proved you could have a conversation and hear the person next to you. Acoustics definitely improved the places cute small, but a wonderful place to visit in Santa Fe. read more

Calamari tepid and funny. Crispy polenta tepid and burnt on the bottom. Both entrees tepid. The plates weren't even warm. Been there often over the years. Will never go back. We've been coming here for over 5 years and given it a 5 star for all those years, plus recommended many more times. I really hate to drop it but the service from arrival to getting the check was so subpar this visit. When we arrived maybe 4 tables were occupied so they were not overwhelmed (by the time we left it was a packed house.) I'm guessing the tone of the rudeness was in reaction to us bringing our child, but that's so unfortunate because he's very well behaved (and did great at Geronimo the night before). The Parmesan chicken is my favorite - if you're hungry get the extra piece of chicken they really aren't that big. The profiteroles have always been excellent - we didn't even make it to dessert this go but I'd still recommend trying them. read more

Yesterday was our 40th wedding anniversary. We ordered the Chicken Piccata dish and the Pots de Creme for dessert. My husband picked it up and it was all prepared and ready to go - no wait! We did heat the entree in the oven for a few minutes when my husband arrived home since we live 20 minutes outside of town. The meal was absolutely scrumptious! The chicken was so tender, savory and flavorful. Even the mashed potatoes and sautéed local greens were fabulous. The Pots de Creme was a perfect and delicious finish to such an excellent and impeccably prepared meal. Thank you Andiamo for making our anniversary feel very special even though we celebrated alone and at home. We look forward to dining at the restaurant someday in the future. read more
