Food was good, price seemed about what you would expect to pay oceanfront. Drink prices were reasonable, Dewers on the rocks was 8.50. Most places on the RI shore are a bit more than that. This place is overrated and overpriced. The food was disgusting! Don't waste your money! We visited Andreas after a beach day at Watch Hill. We were a party of 5. My friend ordered a lobster which had a foul odor. It was clearly rotted. We ordered clam chowder which tasted like it came from a can. The burger looked like a frozen patty, no flavor and way undercooked. Two people in my party ordered lobster roles which were less than mediocre at best. The fries tasted like they sat in cold oil then heated. I will never visit this place again. Not sure what all the hoopla is about after reading other reviews. Save your money and avoid this place like the plague. I'm sure there are plenty of quality restaurants in the area that would do a much better job. read more

Aside from the creepy statue in the bar area, the Andrea has the best food of all the beach bars on the strip. Nice menu selection and big portions. Very nice view. The outside patio with the stone fireplace is very nice. The other dining areas are nice. We love the mussels but we always ask for it with less butter. First time we ordered it, the broth was full of too much butter. The portion is huge and mussels are very sweet and not Sandy. The tuna nachos are awesome. Excellent choice for dinner on the first night of vacation! We had a table on the patio with a beautiful view of the ocean. Service was great, portions were large, and many options on the menu. We didn't save room to taste the tabletop s'mores but will definitely try them next time. read more

The drinks are really great and it's a cool environment. The food is overall just okay- more often disappointing than not. The menu doesn't have enough options for shared snacks/appetizers. I had an amazing time. I was able to book a table in under an hour, and we were RIGHT on the water on a beautiful day. Felt like I was teleported out of Rhode Island. In addition to the great patio was the food. The plates stood out, when most beach restaurants give you food-stand quality stuff, this kitchen knows how to cook good meals. The burger had a great house mayo with it, and the calamari was crispy and fresh just the way we like it. Hats off to the service too - no complaints there. Was a busy day and they still managed to keep the pace up while maintaining restrictions. By the way, getting a drink was as simple as asking my server for one. This was a great place to relax and eat some really good fish tacos. The service was great... however, I get the feeling that the managers/ owners don't really know what they want to do with the place. At noon, they had hip hop music but their clientele was older people. Anyhow, don;t expect a lot but the food was really good and the service for a beach place, was great and friendly. read more

It's not completely rebuilt & I don't know what the plans are for the hotel but the Andrea is back & it's finally in 2013. I used to frequent the Andrea pre-Sandy & liked its charm. Although they did some theme nights, the place always seemed stuck in a time warp. The interior was very outdated but worked for a beach bar. The music was just so bad but worked. The crowd was always a mix of whiskey tango (local & imported) plus townies & various miscreants. I loved it then & they only improved it. My first trip of Summer2k13 I was blown away. I walked in & there was an actual DJ playing music from today. They were even playing Daft Punk something I would never imagine at the old Andrea. There's 2 outdoor areas: one I didn't check out by the old original fireplace & a tented area that reminds me of the 2Pac/Dre 'California Love' video. Yes, there's fire. Although I noticed a few faces from my previous escapades there it was more of a younger crowd, definitely a mix of townies & vacationers. There was even a limited selection of canned craft beer. Of course there was Narragansett (&Grey Sail) plus I'm pretty sure they had some Oskar Blues which I haven't seen in a bar before especially one like the Andrea. I can't stress how modern & updated the Andrea is now especially when compared to it's previous incarnation. It's definitely not like anything else in Westerly. I haven't had any of the food here or know anything about the hotel. I'd go back & I'm actually looking forward to it which is not typical of most bars in the area. read more

I'm glad our friends showed us this place to both park our car for the day to spend at the beach and to eat at. They charge $30 for parking on the weekends but give you $15 in Andrea dollars so that when you eat at their restaurant you're getting your money back. It's a short walk from your car to the beach. The beach is pretty narrow and has the expected rocky-hurt-your-bare-feet in the water that you'd expect in the Misquamicut area and seaweed float. These are all things you have to deal with anyway when you come to the beach. They have an indoor and large outdoor tented area. We had lunch at the bar that faces the water. You can also sit in their alpine beach chairs in the sunny part of the deck and be served your food and beverages there. My husband had a really satisfying hot lobster roll on a buttered, grilled hot dog bun. It's loaded with lobster meat. They also have the cold lobster roll if that's your preference. I had the seared ahi tuna over sesame noodles and salad with a wasabi ranch dressing. The salad was mixed greens and very fresh. Our bartender was friendly and attentive. We chatted about the how busy a Saturday usually is and how crazy-aggressive the seagulls in this part of the beach were. read more

Came here with a group of friends for a birthday party. More people kept showing up than expected and the staff worked hard to accommodate everyone and added tables to our already large table. Our waitress worked very hard to make sure that everyone was happy, kept the drinks flowing and split our check for us like 7 ways. I ordered the clam chowder and clam fritters. Both I thought were great and the chowder had whole clams in it to my surprise. I did have some friends that hated their food (ordered the burger) and the calamari didn't look too good. The summer mule was soooo good (vodka, watermelon vodka, lime juice and ginger beer) I want to try to remake at home! We stayed for the DJ. Music was older and there was def an older crowd than you would see at Paddy's down the road. I'd come back here again, esp when Paddy's has a $20 cover to get in. read more

Poor service. Our share plates were dirty, our server forgot our utensils, they didn't clear our plates before setting the table with our second course. Furthermore, the server took OFF his mask when he got to the table to approach us. We should have known things would go awry when we first arrived as a gentleman with a staff shirt seemed visibly ill hiccuping loudly and then smoking a cigarette. The food was average. I will not be dining at Andrea's again any time soon, and I would suggest that my friends do the same. Poor service, poor attitudes, where was the manager? Where does support staff come across having tantrums in the middle of the restaurant? My family, girlfriend, and I arrived for dinner Sunday evening, which was 1.5-2 hours from home. The wait was short, only about ten minutes, so I grabbed a drink from the bartender, who was very nice and served me promptly. We sat at our outdoor table and ordered a pitcher of rum runners, our appetizers, and entrees at the same exact time. The pitcher of drinks was out shortly afterward, and the appetizers took about 15 minutes. Perfect. The food was good, the drinks were great. About 40 minutes after the appetizers were delivered, our server came over and apologized for the wait. She reassured us our food was coming up next off the line... 15 minutes later our server comes back and apologizes again, saying she thought she had seen our food, but double checked and ours was certainly next. Over 10 minutes later our server returns, "sorry" she says.. I don't know what's taking so long, we are very busy... my dad pipes up at this point and asks if she could bring out another complimentary pitcher for the wait, she laughs and tells us maybe not a pitcher, but she can bring drinks. Minutes later she brings a single 10 ounce drink and places it in the center of the table for the four of us....... I'm sorry, what? At this point, it's been over 1hr 15minutes since our appetizers had been brought out. Looking incredulously at the single drink in the center of the table, we all decide we would like to settle up, it's a long ride home. We waited at the server station for our server, asking other servers if they could find her. I've worked in a restaurant for years, and I don't know if they didn't have a floor plan to refer to, but they couldn't find this girl. While we spent over ten minutes waiting for our server so we could pay and leave, the food finally comes out. An hour and a half after our appetizers, which we had ordered at the exact same time. When asked if we still wanted our food, we said no. We had already packed up and were halfway out the door, the service sucked and it was a long way home. The extremely rude girl, a food runner threw a mild tantrum in the middle of the restaurant. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME" she exclaims, throws her arms around and rolls her eyes. Let's out a loud sigh and runs back to the kitchen. Minutes later, our server still hadn't come out so we could settle up, but the same ill mannered food runner comes out holding another tray. My girlfriend moves out of her way making more than enough room, and the girl walks the tray right into her back without any apology. At this point my girlfriend gave her a dirty look, to which she sneered and said, "sorry." As we continued to wait, we were more and more agitated. Multiple other customers began getting out of their seats and walking over to us asking if we were leaving, because they too were appalled by the service/wait time and were also looking to settle up. Finally we found our server and only paid for our pitcher of rum runners. Throughout this entire experience, not once did a manager come speak with us. Nor could anyone tell who the manager even was. People were literally getting up and leaving, and the manager was nowhere to be found..... in my experience as a server, if we are under staffed and cannot provide acceptable service to our customers as a result, we will block out a section of the restaurant. It must be nice to have such a high volume of customers coming through because of the location, that you can completely forgo any type of integrity in regard to service. It's too bad, the food looked pretty good. I will be going elsewhere next time I'm in the area. read more

The 1 star is for the location. The food and service is consistent, consistently awful. It's understandable in a seaside community in the summer to expect slow service but that's not the only problem in addition to them being slow and overwhelmed our servers on the 2 occasions we tried this place were incompetent and were not interested in their job. The prices aren't bad for the location however the food is bad. The cocktails were the only things that were acceptable but it's difficult to screw up wine and beer. read more

Four stars for the amazing view! Food is ok, service is super slow, but I didn't care because I was able to enjoy the ocean view with my company. Don't sit inside, there's no AC and the speakers are there so you can't hear. Night one had prime rib, it was fab! Day two, we had the bar food, it was ok. No reservations, they don't answer the phone. You show up and wait. Again, not a biggie because the little ones can run the beach while you wait. read more

My boyfriend and I drove to Misquamicut for the day, and eating here was the best part of our (wonderful) trip! We both had sangria and the Andrea burger, and finished up with the peanut butter pie for dessert. Everything was delicious. We paid an extra $2 each for French fries with our burgers, but it was totally worth it. In addition to the great food and drinks, the view was spectacular. It was exactly what we were looking for to end our day: a relaxed, beachy location with good food. The best part of our dinner, however, was our waiter Steve M! He was extremely attentive and personable. Very chill but yet still professional, which I feel like is a hard balance to come by. I was here on a girl's weekend with my daughter. Stayed nearby and planned on having dinner at Andrea. Didn't realize we should have gotten reservations, so we decided to order takeout. There happened to be a wedding that night and when we went to pick up our takeout we were met by several people questioning what we were doing like we were trying to crash the wedding. Mind you it was my daughter and me and were dressed casually - nowhere dressed for a wedding. The food was great but I can't help being made to feel like a crasher for simply wanting to pick up a $100+ dinner for two for takeout. I would suggest an alternative way to pick up take out during a wedding. It was very demeaning and unnecessary. read more

Looking for a place on Yelp, in Westerly, we found Andrea's. I fully expected overpriced food and drinks because it's on the water. I dont know if I've ever been more pleasantly surprised. We ordered the tuna nachos and what came out was a large portion. It was so good, one of the best appetizers my wife and I have ever had. She got the lobster roll and she said it was by far the best she's ever had. I ordered the garlic shrimp linguine. It was so delicious and as I was eating, barely making a dent I said to my wife this has to be close to a pound of pasta. There were well over 24 shrimp in it as well. I said "this is the first time I think a restaurant served me too much food". We come to Rhode Island every summer and now this is the only place I will go. Oh, and the wait staff was amazing, patient, informative and attentive. Five stars isn't enough for how good this place is! Well worth the money!! read more

I had the opportunity to go last night. Could only get a 5:15 reservation , which amazed me because the place was at best 50% up until we left at 7:15. When we were checked in , no one told us we had a 2 hour limit , wasn't until the waitress came 3-4 times asking if we were ready to order , and I said we are just going to take our time with our drinks before ordering , you know you have a 2 hour limit was a response , no I didn't So we ordered are app , and dinner came out almost together , felt very rushed and for no apparent reason , because when we were done eating , we were told we were able to stay past the 2 hours Needless to say , we were full, and had no room to continue drinking Food was great , crab cakes , scallops , lobster Mac and cheese were outstanding Waitress was Great , not counting the rushing part read more

We LOVE The Andrea. They make parking so easy. $10 Monday-Thursday, $20 on Friday, and $30 on Saturday and Sunday. Plus they give you food vouchers when you park there. The bathrooms are always clean and I have yet to have bad food and we have been coming every summer after the hotel was destroyed by the Hurricane. Clam fritters are out of this world. The warm ciabatta bread with garlic butter is really good, the menu says served with marinara but the last time we didn't get that. The chicken alfredo was amazing. Going to a season beach bar and restaurant can be a rewarding, inconsistent, wonderful, frustrating experience. On the one hand a yearly visitor understands the nature of the beast; on the other, trying to get good service and hot food can be a fleeting attempt at dining. Throw in a dilapidated fridge and lukewarm food and the experience can be less than rewarding. On July 17 our group of six adults sat down for lunch at about 1 PM. The Andrea was not nearly as busy as it is on, say Sunday at noon, but it was steady. Alex was our waiter, and I will say after over 10 years of coming to the Andrea, he was the best we've ever had. He was attentive, funny, there when we needed him (but not when we didn't) and simply got it right. The food was almost secondary; one of the burgers was very well done and the bread on a BLT was stale. But had we decided to send something back (no one bothered) we know Alex would have been on it. I'll add one more note: as we wrapped up lunch, my wife order a couple of virgin frozen drinks for the kids back at the beach. When Alex delivered the Pina Coladas, my wife remarked under her breath that she had screwed up and should have ordered the strawberry daiquiris. After she had left to bring the Coladas, Alex came to the table with two frozen daiquiris. He said he heard that she had made the error and brought them to us at no extra charge. It's that type of service that can turn a long wait and decent (but not great) food into an outstanding dining experience. Thank you Alex! read more

We went for mother's day....there were six of us.....great service...great drinks. The food was exceptional! The Mexican street corn, perogies, and fritters were a perfect start to our meal. My son and I had the swordfish special which was absolutely perfect.....my dad had the Portuguese cod, he loved it, my other son had a burger which he said was really good, and my mom had the seafood fradiablo.....she loved it !!! A nice beach bar, HOWEVER, I do have a complaint. I was there last Sat. and had a nice lunch with my wife. We had two drinks each and then someone bought us 2 more drinks. It was beautiful. Before we finished our drinks, the host came to our table and said we'd have to leave because they needed the table. We said OK and went to the bar where we finished our drinks, about 30 minutes. As we went to leave, our table still was empty. A ridiculous policy and a lie. Rushing people out the door when there isn't a line or reservation is bad business! read more

The service is accomplished by some generally pleasant servers who are trying to be competent but, because the whole place is kind of hokey, will never be able to make anything really great happen. People drink their faces off here. It's a great place to do that, albeit pricey. If you are trying to get smashed, get some pitchers of booze and don't eat. If you are trying to get halfway decent beach food, then you could do better. For this money, drive into town and go to Ella's, or B&B Dockside even. read more
