Came here a few weeks ago for a Holiday party. The food was sliders (burgers) and chicken parmesan sliders. The sliders were fine, but the chicken parmesan sliders were overcooked. Their short-rib flatbread pizza was excellent. The desserts were just average: panna cotta and chocolate cake. The food was okay considering it was bar food and I hadn't eaten at the restaurant before. I was bummed they didn't have any good wine Also, I found it ridiculous that there was no seating for a giant party of 50+ guests. The valet parking was insanely crowded and I hate using valet so I just used self-parking, assuming I'd be charged. Lamb lollipops: 5.5/10 Lacked flavor, not crusted well. lunch "special" fish & chips: 5/10 meh at best. The fries could barely pass as being "fried" as it was soft and had zero crisp. The 3 small fried fish fillets were cooked well (soft, not overcooked) but the breading was subpar. The meat also lacked structural integrity which tells me that they mushed together some leftover / smaller fillets and/or was frozen too cold. Andrei's burger: 6.5/10 Came with the sad side of fries. Not good nor bad, but definitely not worth. The buns were toasted, but crumbly... There are much better choices for lunch in the area. The only upside was that the restaurant is located in a corporate park & barely had any diners which made for a quiet ambiance and quick service, but the shortcomings of the dishes definitely left me feeling self CONSCIOUS about my choice to eat here for lunch. read more

Entirely forgettable. And mind you - this is not a restaurant - it's a hotel bar with a dining room. The ambiance is of a 1980's industrial complex, there is NO parking minus the $9 mandatory valet. The food was fine, with the exception being the ahi tuna carpaccio, which was the only joy of the evening, along with the treatment from the pleasant staff. First time here for lunch. Met with former college classmates. The restaurant is on the second floor. There is an elevator. It is fairly big in area with outdoor dining. Impressive. The menu extensive. We ordered several appetizers, all were good and tasty. I ordered the lamb burger which was done to perfection. Not too salty, not too bland. It was fresh ground lamb meat, grilled served on a brioche bun with thin sliced cucumbers, arugula and cheese. It was juicy but not oily. It also came with your choice of salad or fries. I had the salad with balsamic dressing. My friends ordered seafood like scallops and halibut. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Took our orders correctly. Always filling up our water and tea drinks. Always mindful of what we needed. Overall we had a wonderful experience. We over stayed but they did not rush us out. And oh! This place is wonderful! We tried the buffalo cauliflower, and it was blue cauliflower! First time every having it, and it was unbelievable. So fresh, not greasy, with just the right amount of seasoning. We tried the lamb pops, which were outstanding. Dinner consisted of salmon, chicken, and steak. Everything was cooked perfectly, side dishes were the perfect portion. Everyone in our group was very happy! We also had a variety of cocktails. The restaurant looks expensive, but is really surprisingly affordable. Probably it has to do with the wine bottle displays on the wall thay make one think of all the expensive restaurants in the past. I ordered Andrei's Cheeseburger. It is huuuuuge! We had an open table reservation at one of those big mama steak houses for our anniversary. Well they decided to seat us at the bar. No thank you. We left. Ended up at Andrei's on a fluke. We ate at Andrei's last night for St. Patrick's day. It was terrific. To start, my husband had iced tea and I had the very best vodka tonic in a tall glass that was so tasty that I couldn't stop drinking it. We split a small Caesar salad and the dressing was superb. The wait staff was wonderful. They brought extra pieces of crostini bc I wanted something to go with the salad. For dinner my husband had those fabulous lamb lollipops which were so tender and juicy that they were almost falling off the bone. I had the seasonal lamb stew which was absolutely fantastic. The seasonings were perfect. Unbelievable. The sauce was light and delicious. The vegetables were cut small, tender and just right. The meat was savory. Had to have dessert. Split the cheesecake. Wonderful. All in all we rolled out of there very full but we go there frequently and the meals are always memorable but this one the very best. Take away during COVID19. Ordered the family meal of Mary's chicken with assorted veggies, Cesar salad and dessert. Not only did they accommodate a family of 3 (vs the menu that has a dinner for 2 or a dinner for 4) but they threw in a roll of toilet paper! We had one serving as leftovers. In addition to the terrific and easy service, the food was divine! The Cesar salad was fresh and had a tasty dressing. In fact, we saved some for later use. The chicken was really yummy- oh, and tender to boot. The veggies were also on pointe. Carrot cake rounded out the pre-package family meal. Certainly not the cheapest chicken dinner- but a really good one! Will we go back? Absolutely.!!! They care. I know this as they are supporting a Local food kitchen and their own furloughed employees with meals. We came here for their happy hour and I have to say it is one of my favorite in Irvine! You get to sit anywhere in the restaurant which is a huge bonus, especially if you are more than just two people. We ordered one of everything and I really enjoyed all of it! Prices are fair and the food a step above your average happy hour food, they really put thought into the food and presentation which I always appreciate. Our TGIF dinner, we drove by many time so today looking for a nice restaurant, we decided to try on Andrei. No reservations necessary so we just walked in and was greeted by a very lovely young lady who took us to a booth. Outdoor tables were quite busy, while indoor seatings when we came in at 7pm was not, but by 7:30 we started to aww a few large group came in. Once we sat down, our server who is also a bartender came to take the drink order quickly but then after that we didn't know where he was and after 15 minutes we had to flag another server who happened to walk by, the second server took our order and took care of us from there on. We had Fried Portobello steak Lamb Burger Hanger steak Planned to have cheese cake but were too full Appetizer came out fast and the main dishes came out right when finished the appetizer, good timing! All the 3 dishes were very tasty, good list of beer and wine, prices were relatively good for 3 dishes, a glass of Malbec and a glass of draft beer ($89) We will come back again to try other dishes, just hope that we won't have to wait for a server to walk by to order the food read more

To be honest, the only thing like on their menu are the portabello fries. They're the perfect size and thickness, juicy and we'll seasoned and don't taste strongly of mushrooms. Everything else is overpriced, small in portions and whatever. And it takes them awhile to get your food out. But you're paying for the professional fancy atmosphere and really nice staff. Honestly, the food at Urban Plates is better for bigger portions. However, our company comes here for happy hour, so it's great to eat at when you're not paying. Their drinks are pretty good, especially their freshly squeezed and super sweet OJ. They also open late, have valet parking, and have really really nice bathrooms. I'm talking fancy hotel quality. First visit here. Located amongst the high rise buildings - Very "Irvine"... a bit of a corporate feeling environment. Not what I would call cozy. I didn't take time to try and figure out parking, so I just went with the valet, but it did not seem very straight forward where to park otherwise. The staff were great - friendly with very good service. The liquor stocked at the bar was just ok - I have a better selection in my own home... That being said, my single barrel Manhattan was very good. We had the frites, ceviche, lamb lollipops and flourless chocolate cake, all of which we're excellent. As a quick after-work drop-in I think this place fills a gap nicely. Not special, but enjoyable. I look forward to an occasional visit and to tying other menu items. read more

4.5 Stars This is one of Irvine's most underrated and under the radar restaurants that has been around for a long while. It's been about 10 years since I last dined here. The food was great then but the service was a litle on the slow side. Fast forward today. I work in Irvine and I have been getting tired / burnt out on the local lunch scene. After trying to find a good sit down quiet atmosphere lunch location, I had remembered that Andrei's was pretty good so I looked it up on Yelp and low and behold they were still in business with good recent reviews. I invited a business colleague to join me for lunch yesterday and it all came back to me how classy and nice the decor is as we entered. This location is spacious and they practiced all of the socially distanced and safety guidelines. The service was warm and our server advised us of the day's special off menu items and soup. My colleague ordered the French onion soup starter and the special of the day cod fish and chips that came with hand cut fries and coleslaw. The presentation was very nice and my colleague was very impressed with the quality of all ingredients. I ordered the signature Andrei's French dip (Thinly-Shaved Roasted Beef, Caramelized Onions, Provolone, French Baguette, Creamy Horseradish, Au Jus, Warm Potato Salad). Boy was that good. It was REALLY good. Sorry...I didn't take pics. I wish I would have. The service this time around was much better than my last experience 10 years ago. The nice thing about Andrei's is their attention to detail and ingredients used in all of their dishes. They focus on using local organic ingredients for all of their menu items. Also another stand out for me is 100% of the restaurant's net profits benefit The Andrei Foundation, which supports many charitable causes and organizations.
