Tried food here for the first time for happy hour, great deals and well-prepared~ My BF and I came here during happy hour, Tuesday through Friday (4-6 PM). They have selected entrees/apps for $10, cocktails for $9, draft beer from $5~$7, and wines from $8~$10. We got the portobello steak fries, chicken kebabs, black angus beef egg roll, chef's daily pizza, gin and jam, draft IPA, house sparkling wine, and house red wine. The chicken kebabs were fire~ well charred with a harissa aioli sauce. Beef egg rolls were crispy with fresh tzatziki sauce on the side, the waiter suggested to eat the saurkraut on the side with the egg rolls, which balanced out the greasiness of the egg rolls. Portobello fries were a little salty, but with good umami flavor and tar tar dip. The pizza was average, it had short ribs and veggies, crust was a little hard and bready. Although restaurant was not crowded, it took a while to get the server's attention. Solid restaurant with semi-fancy interior with great happy hour deals~ Would love to try their entrees my next visit! read more

Andrei's always has a special place in my heart. This restaurant is such a hidden gem in Irvine. I've been here so many times in my years in OC. My tip is to go during their Happy Hour (Tuesday - Friday from 4 PM to 6 PM, Saturday from 4 PM to 6 PM). The environment is great and the drinks and shareable dishes are fantastic! FOOD - 5/5 I'm listing my favorite Happy Hour items and a couple of their daily specials that I ordered. Pommes Frites (Hand-Cut Kennebec Potato Fries / Herbs / Grana / Truffle Oil / Housemade Ketchup) - 5/5 These are always amazingly delicious. If you like your fries super hot, creamy, and crispy, I would get these. I brought a friend here once and these fries are all she talks about. Chicken Kebabs (Spiced Chicken Kebabs / Tomato & Mint Salad / Harissa Aioli) - 5/5 These chicken skewers are cooked to perfection. Chicken can be so tricky to prepare but these are always tender and juicy and the sauce is so yummy. This is a great option for a "healthier" route. Black Angus Beef Spring Rolls (Feuille De Brick / Moroccan-Spiced Ground Beef / Fresh Herbs / Sauerkraut / Tzatziki) - 5/5 Decadent "spring rolls" that are full of flavor. They can be a bit on the heavier side if you are looking for a light fare but if you are looking for something rich, these are a great choice. The tzatziki does lighten up the dish. Chef's Daily Pizza (Signature Handmade Pizza with Chef's Daily Ingredients) - 5/5 I don't think I have yet been disappointed by the daily pizzas. The ingredients are always super fresh and I'm always in for a treat. My favorites so far have been a BBQ Chicken Pizza, Short Rib Pizza, and a Classic Margherita Pizza. Daily Seasonal Soup - 5/5 Once again, haven't been disappointed yet by their soup. I'm a soup fan and they always use seasonal ingredients so that the soups are super fresh and tasty. I have had amazing Sweet Potato and Turnip Soup here and both were beyond my expectations. Drinks - 5/5 I like the Gin & Jam on the Happy Hour menu even though I'm not really a gin drinker (more of a whiskey fan). The Chilean Spice is also a great option if you are feeling "slightly" adventurous. Both drinks are refreshing and well-balanced. Also, if you ever see Sangria, get it! I'm a fan of all their seasonal sangrias. SERVICE - 5/5 The service here is always great. They can get busy during events but that's understandable. Although this is a very small thing, it makes me super happy that my water glass is always filled. I've been to so many restaurants where they take forever to fill your water. The servers are super friendly and if you meet the right ones and visit often, they will remember you. VALUE - 5/5 This place has the best value during Happy Hour. I have yet to try all their main menu items but I'm quite sure they are good. Dined here for a holiday corporate event and really appreciate the staff for setting up the event on their patio. We had a group of 18 people and originally had booked a table inside a private seating area but we have all decided to move to the patio in the minute after seeing how nice it was to breathe fresh air being around the heaters. We had a prefixed menu of 1 starter, 1 main, and 1 dessert for each person. I started with the blue and beet salad, which had roasted beets, blue cheese, champagne grapes, blue berries, red cabbage, pickled cucumbers, pistachio, and aged balsamic dressing. Refreshing salad and loved the nuttiness of the goat cheese with the salad. For main I ordered the Scottish Salmon which was pan roasted, it had butternut squash carrot cassoulet, red bell peppers, rainbow char, walnuts, and pomegranate yogurt dressing. I like all the ingredients but the salmon was just cooked a bit too long and lost it's moisture. For dessert, I had the D'Anjou Pear cheesecake, it was almost like a souffle but in a cheesecake form with actual pear fruit slices, candied ginger, cinnamon creme anglaise, and mascarpone whipped cream. 5/5 stars for Andrei's! The service was fantastic. We were able to snag a last minute reservation for a Saturday date night, and it was such a great experience! There is a parking structure with FREE validated parking. For our appetizers, we ordered the bread basket. Such a classic that tasted fresh and heavenly with the oil pairing. For drinks, we ordered the Dirty Martini. It was really strong, and I loved the rosemary garnish. We got the Fish Entree (Red Snapper) to share for 2 people, and it was cooked so beautifully. I loved the tableside debone presentation as well. Will definitely be coming back for round 2! read more

What can I say about Andrei's, it's been here a long time. The place itself is certainly nice. I will say it gets a little loud because there are hard surfaces everywhere. They could use some baffling somewhere because if one person sneezes at the opposite side of the room it echoes like a jetliner through the whole place. When it's more than a quarter of the way filled with patrons it is deafening. The food itself is really rather mediocre. I've been here three times now and what can I say it's.. it's not that.. it's not worth the price at all. Not at all. You're paying for where it's located which is near some fancy office buildings and you're paying for I guess well I don't really know what you're paying for here. There are plenty of nice places with above average service and much better food. read more

This place is very stale and is in dire need of a total makeover. The menu is dull and uninspiring with very little creativity. Also it's horribly over-priced for what is coming out of the kitchen. For starters I would highly suggest a new head cook, or an actual certified executive chef. Bartenders are nice, and the ambiance is pleasant. I'll start by saying that if you're looking for a low-key vibe, amazing aesthetic + service, and reasonably priced - Andrei's is the answer. My boyfriend surprised me with a date to Andrei's for my birthday and I was blown away. The aesthetics are everything (perfect for a photo op). It's located on the second floor, and I would recommend Valet because parking yourself is a tad confusing. Food review: We both ordered the "lamb lollipops" and to say they were delicious is an understatement. We also ordered a regular cheeseburger and a lamb cheeseburger alongside two of their drinks (the drinks are very strong). The food is served on wood, which is so unique! Service: We were constantly (not overly) checked on to see how we were doing. Their servers went above and beyond, however I forgot to get our servers name. Pretty good food here, they say it is sustainable food. I had the wild caught Lingcod, not too bad of a fish, my first time trying it. Not too fishy tasting. Portion size was perfect if you eat an appetizer before hand it is filling. We tried the fried cauliflower with some aoli sauce, it's was very tasty. Also tried the Ahi tuna Tartare with plantain chips. This was just ok, not a fan of sushi but thought we would give it a try. For dessert I had the cream puff. This was ok. Little dry but the fruit was great. My wife had the beef short ribs. she said it tasted like pot roast. read more

The food is meh. The service is probably the worst we have ever experienced--thirty minutes to get a waiter, Andy to the table. And then we all felt intimidated and insulted by his behavior. we asked for certain things which never happened--very immature and inexperienced wait staff. Food finally came after being seated for over an hour and a half. Really irresponsible and apathetic service. On top of everything else, they added a 20 percent tip because we were a party of eight. I've worked in Irvine for 5 years and always passed by Andrei's but never looked into it. To be honest, didn't think it was a restaurant! It's located in the same complex as corporate buildings and a hotel. Only reason we dined there was because we had a voucher for free wine with a purchase of food. Glad we did though, I had a great time! The restaurant is located upstairs and is super spacious with a balcony area. Also has a pretty big bar :). When we arrived, we weren't crazy hungry so we decided to order things to share. We ordered the tuna tartare, regular calamari and fish tacos. The food was good! Everything was super fresh and had great flavor. The tuna tartare came with plantain chips which was yummy. The calamari was not crispy like most places, it was soft and saucy, didn't mind that either (but would have preferred it crispy). The fish tacos are done based on the catch of the day, I had the rockfish which was a white fish. The plate also came with rice and beans, wasn't a fan of the beans but rice was good! Overall experience was good, owner and servers were super nice but service was a little slow and could use some work. I would love to come back and try other stuff on the menu! read more

I've been here quite a few times and it's a decent spot. I wouldn't venture too far off from their burgers or sandwiches. I've had the burger many times and it's my favorite. The lamb burger is just ok - stick with the regular burger is my advice! Lol. Their fried chicken sandwich was way too sweet though. We really do love this restaurant! Local and close enough for us to walk to and the service is always 5-star. The staff is friendly, caring and polite. The restaurant is always clean and I've never had any concerns when placing a reservation. Came here for Saturday brunch on my birthday and really enjoyed the food and service. I had the Andrei's chopped salad and asked for the dressing on the side. The funny part is they ended up putting everything on the side and served it in little dishes with each ingredient separately. I think this made me appreciate my salad even more because it made it more fun to eat. The bf had the Chorizo & Eggs which also looked delicious. The restaurant is in a strange location, I would have never thought there'd be a restaurant here. Love the concept of this restaurant where everything is locally sourced and organic. Lots of healthy options on their menu, exactly my type of restaurant. Will have to come back and try their dinner menu items soon. read more

Wow! Blown away at how tasty and flavorful these dishes were. Super fresh ingredients shout out to those microgreens that are locally sourced and used as a garnish. I don't think I've ever had better calamari anywhere honestly it was super light, had some tomato base that had a really tasty acidic bite that made my mouth watering and wanting more. You can tell they have a key eye for detail as the plating was really creative especially with the crab cones. We tried a little bit of everything from the portobello fries, crab cones, ahi tuna tartare, and calamari. A beautiful restaurant with a great outdoor balcony location. Made for a great place to enjoy a drink during lunch, I'd recommend the poolside. Staff is super friendly and I definitely will be coming back! read more

I guess this place has been there for 10 years... kind of hard to see being on the top floor of a building. I met a friend for a business meeting and he recommended it. I'll be honest, it's actually a pretty cool place. Nice ambiance, with a pretty bug bar and especially their outdoor patio. Regarding the food, it was great. He ordered these mushroom Fries, I'm not sure what they call them but they were great. I ordered their fish tacos and they were excellent... he ordered a salmon salad, I didn't taste his salad but it looked amazingly well. Service was also great, our server was, I believe her name Susie.. all and all, everything was perfect. Definitely recommend trying this place. read more

They're patio is open for outdoor dining! Came here for dinner on Saturday night. They have heat lamps and cute string lights above. We ordered the lamb lollipops and crispy cauliflower to start. The lamb lollipops were so delicious! Really not gamey and super tender. It came with arugula with sweet onion jam on the side and a cumin/coriander yogurt sauce. I don't think I've ever had lamb that was so not gamey. The crispy cauliflower was very yummy, the cauliflower was very soft and tender with crispy Panko crust and a flavorful harissa aioli and topped with cherry tomatoes and micro greens. It was actually quite large piece of cauliflower, like maybe of a head of cauliflower. The truffle Mac and cheese was a taster Mac and cheese, except I couldn't really tell there was truffle in it. It was very creamy and cheesy though. I would've preferred it just slightly more salty. The pacific scallops came with a braised leek risotto and roasted carrots and parsnips. The scallops were super tender and very fresh with a touch of natural sweetness. The braised leek risotto was light and tasty. I'm not a huge fan of carrots and parsnips but they were nicely roasted and I like that they came whole. Overall the lamb lollipops and the scallops were my favorite. I wish it came with more than 3 scallops though! Service was great, they're very attentive (checked on us frequently, refilled water and took away empty dishes quickly without us having to ask). read more

My husband had the Mediterranean salad which is vegetarian, but per our server's suggestion, he added lamb pops. OMG... neither of us are big fans of lamb, but this was so delicious ! Highly recommend lamb pops! I had the crab sandwich which came with fried pickles. I normally don't care for fried pickles, but they were incredibly delicious ! Topped it off with apricot crostada or something like that. Another winner!! Such great food!! To top it off, we sat at the bar, and our server/bartender Laurie was fantastic! Always a great experience when dining at Andrei's! The portobello steak fries are a great way to start off dinner...along with drinks made by Patrick. (The Gin and Jam, but I request it made with vodka....so I guess it's a Vodka and Jam, is light and refreshing!). Andrei's caters to whatever dietary need you have and they bend over backwards to make a dish that is right for you. The menu is never boring as they change their menu seasonally so it's fun going in to see what's new. There are also great take out choices if you want to dine at home.
