He was able to bleach my hair from a super dark brown to platinum blonde, all while preserving the integrity of my hair. I wasn't quite sure what color I wanted but trusting in his suggestion, I went with ombre golden sky pink and it came out absolutely gorgeous. If you have a specific color in mind, he can work with you to achieve it but if you're also open to suggestions, he can create many different color combinations. I had two appointments with Andy. I needed a haircut and hair consultation for lifting color and custom coloring to rose gold. Even before the consultation and haircut, Andy and I were talking back and forth about my hair history from the last 2-3 years. I didn't use any bleaching products so I had virgin hair. Andy was very transparent and honest; he was super knowledgeable about style and products. When I came in for the first visit for my haircut on 3/16/2022, I thought I wanted an Medium bob with wispy bangs to try something new, but Andy looked at how my hair naturally parts and gave a better recommendation for my profile. We went with the medium bob but had side swept bangs. I loved it! I looked super cute. I came in for the off-scalp balayage on 4/3/2022. He made sure to put in extra care from the color lifting process to all the hand painting. My hair was so soft even after the dark color was lifted from my hair. Andy was super diligent and took the time to explain things when I asked questions about caring for my hair after the coloring was done. Once we had the color set, Andy also styled my hair and walked me through the process from applying the heat protectant product, blow drying my hair, spraying the dry shampoo and brushing my hair a certain way to achieve a look that suits me. He showed me step by step so that I would be able to follow the simple steps to create volume for my hair. I definitely recommend consulting Andy for any hair needs. It seems as though Andy is more well known for his coloring skills, but I went to him for a simple hair cut. I didn't come with photos in hand, only expressed what I wanted - more volume, low maintenance, versatile curtain bangs that can still be swept to the side, preserve the length as much as possible. Beyond that, I gave him free reign to do whatever he saw fit. I really loved the end result! My hair felt airy, bouncy and full of volume. Andy used techniques I have never really seen before and I really appreciate that he is not only meticulous, but only books one client at at time so he can give you his undivided attention. Andy is the real deal! I found him through Facebook - I had been putting off correcting the brassiness of my lightened Asian hair because I hate going to the salon. Now I LOVE going to the salon - Andy is a true pro at haircolor. He bleached out my roots (which were shades too dark) without making it brassy or orange, and also toned the rest had of my hair to the perfect shade. I don't usually write negative reviews. I tried this place in hopes of amping up my blonde however instead I got white stripes and brown color. The photos represent the hair I had before, what I wanted, and what I got. I understand that sometimes these things happen. Andy wasn't the one who did my color, it's was his assistant. I tried calling to explain that there was a mistake made and I was hoping for some kind of partial refund however Andy said that there was no mistake that he would not be refunding me unless I went back in person to prove my color was wrong. I was kind and courteous on the call and I feel he was indignant as a response. Very unfortunate to have paid $285 and not gotten blonde. I was a little surprised at the price as well. Andy did the cut and blow dry, his assistant did the rest. I've been coloring my hair blonde for 10+ years with different stylists and my hair has never turned out looking like this. It was actually greyish/purple when I left the salon, Andy said the toner would wash out. I've never left a solon with a toner issue like that before. FINALLY! I have found my new hair stylist! After years of hunting....Andy came into my life! What started as a 1-2hr 1st time hair visit (for a cut and color consultation) turned into a 4 hr color and cut transformation. This only because Andy was gracious to accommodate a last minute, balayage color. We had the BEST conversation, he gave such great advice - unintended, taught me a lot about hair color, and we shared some great stories. Even though he stayed well beyond the time of closing on a Saturday, he showed the utmost professionalism, kindness, and precise care to make sure that I did not leave his salon unless my hair was perfect! I honestly felt bad for keeping him so long and was sure that he was probably staving! I very much appreciated him taking the time to make sure that my hair perfect. While under the dryer he would at the same time make sure the station I was at always remained clean. After washing my hair he would do the same thing. This care and attention to these details made sure my client experience was an incredible one! For the Hair layer and color: My Asian Hair easily turns orange when going to the lighter brown side as opposed to red (which is what I normally do if not black). I very much appreciated that he was honest and transparent the entire time! He never sugar coated that he'd "make my hair beautiful" or "can do whatever I want". Instead he told me what he has been able to do in the past but since he does not know my hair, the products I've used in the past and how his product will respond to my hair, gave full disclosure of what he will try to do with my approval. His expertise, careful attention and good products allowed my 1st color to land a nice light caramel brown which is the exact color I have always wanted. After nine months (I was long overdue for cut/dye) I made another appointment with Andy, and I was very satisfied again with my experience! He was very accommodating with my schedule; I didn't even know until near the end of my appointment that he came in on a day he was supposed to be off to help me with my hair, I appreciated it so much! I came to Andy looking for a long overdue haircut. At first I wasn't so sure he was the right person for me, since everyone seemed to rave about the colors they got with Andy. but I saw the glowing review about someone's recent haircut. I am here to echo that glowing review. I shared some photos beforehand, and upon coming in, Andy was transparent about some of the techniques that would be used for those haircuts. After looking at the type of hair I had, he recommended it might cause more frizz. I'm so glad he said that bc that's exactly what I didn't want. I absolutely love Andy and his passion. His attention to detail, genuine concern, and recommendations based on my personal needs/current hair status was very much appreciated. I came in for an Olaplex & Keratin Treatment. Close to my due date, Andy only used the mild-keratin and it STILL made a world of a difference in the look and feel of my hair. I have a dear friend whom I've been going to for color and maintenance for 3yrs now and she said she really noticed the difference in his care and cut compared to the last. I got a haircut a couple months ago at a crazy expensive parlor with my sister. I have thick hair (like equivalent to "3heads of hair" as I've been told time and time again) so this lady claimed she works mostly on thick hair and knew exactly what to do. It wasn't horrific or anything but it was only nice for about 1-2wks before it was significantly noticeable how random certain patches of my hair were growing back from where she thinned it out. Split-ends were rampant everywhere (which I learned were the result of all the razor cutting to "thin out my hair" ). I'm pretty OCD with following maintenance instructions and my hair was just so dry and difficult to maintain so I kept it in a ponytail for weeks Andy is crazy skilled with all his different tools. He really helped enhance the look of my hair color by styling my cut to show more of a balayage versus the patches of thick color that it was showing before. 2wks later and it's growing out great ! My friend retouched my color and I came back to Andy for a scalp, olaplex, and keratin treatment to get pampered and prepped for my baby since I won't be able to come back for a couple months. I had the worst experience ever with this hair stylist.He maybe good at what he does but did a horrible job on my hair . Apparently he didn't understand what I wanted . It's been almost a month since my visit . When I went for my appt I showed him the pictures and of what I wanted and he told me he couldn't get exactly what I showed him because of the base that I had (which was not true cuz I found a hair stylist who said she can fix and get me to the color I want ). Then he proceeded to show me pics of his work. I liked one of them and I said I don't mind getting something like that but I specifically said I want to go lighter don't mind a change to my look. And then we decided on a balayage. In between applying colors he also cut my hair and I was not impressed...he totally messed up my bangs. When he finished and started drying my hair, I said it looks too dark but was ok cuz maybe it's still wet. Once it dried it was orange, yellow and bunch of other colors . I said that I'm not happy, this is not what I expected and he didn't even feel bad that I was upset. He actually blamed me. I went home very upset, crying. At first I thought I will let it go but I spent $250 and the work he did doesn't reflect a color of $250, let alone a haircut and color. I called the salon and spoke with the owner name Helen, she was sweet and very helpful. She said she will see what she can do . I said that I would want some kind a refund. Next day she called me and said that Andy will not give me any of my money back but he could fix my hair. Which basically proves he knows he messed it up. I was shocked and couldn't believe it. He didn't even own up to his awful color . Very poor customer service on his part! Helen could tell that I was upset and she said she will give me half of my money back (because she agreed it was poor color )and she will deal with Andy. Here is the pic of his work that I liked what I got and what I wanted ........ So my response to your comment Andy, is: You still don't get it . If you read my review I said you told me that I can't get the hair like the pic I showed (so no need to explain to me again). I did not agree to what I got! If you think that what I got looks awesome and you think it's worth it $250, you are out of your mind! No hair dresser and/or business owner would let a client leave looking the way you let me leave. Any ethical individual/business would take responsibility for their actions. You can learn from Helen on this one! So now one of your "customers" is calling me a scam .
