There's a reviewer who mentioned that Stephens Honda don't pressure you to do anything. Sometimes not selling me on the service is not a good thing because when you pay more than two thousand dollars on recommendation to service the car you want to feel like you actually purchased something worth the money. That they money you paid was for a purpose and was urgent and necessary. On top of this unpleasant experience, when I go to pick up my car, I find it stinking of paint, which is caused by the fact that they left the car in the garage over the weekend while they were waiting for the floor paint-job to dry. All they would offer at that point was an air freshener! My car still smells of paint!! I get it, they're a monopoly in the neighborhood but these guys should at least make the effort to fake it. read more

TRYING TO SCAM ME- After having a major piece of work done on warranty (which was done well), the service department informed me that another fairly major amount of work needed to be done to repair some grossly damaged and worn parts, almost as an afterthought. The work done on warranty was free, but this next thing would cost quite a large amount. I had my suspicions, so I took it home, jacked it up, and found the parts in question to be absolutely perfect, and in fact in better shape than expected for a vehicle of this age. I'm knowledgeable about cars, but I'm certainly no mechanic, so I had this verified by a friend who is a mechanic, and by a local independent shop in town. This dealership has a service department that does good work, but I would verify everything they recommend with a professional second party. Overall, I've had an average experience with Honda and their performance met my expectations. The salesperson who sold me my first car last year was very personable, but it took a couple of weeks to get my car and closure on "deal" where it needed to be - but they worked with me. Their Finance guy? FANTASTIC! Service? I just did my first maintenance check - they listened - they were patient - they answered my questions, and I got a great deal! So I'm excited about sticking with Honda with most or all of the service needs for my car! read more

Today I went into Andy Mohr Hyundai, in Bloomington, Indiana to look at a few cars, had made up my mind to buy a car that day, and wanted to drive out in one, a very interested buyer, but the salesperson there was not very knowledgeable. I shared some other deals I got from other dealers and if they could match it, and so the salesperson started taking notes on details. I asked him why he is writing it down, he said, so he wouldn't forget when we talk price. When we finally agreed on a car, and started talking price, I again reminded the salesman of matching or at least considering some of the discounts others are offering--to which he said he looked up online, on the information I gave him and there was no such car at the dealership I mentioned for that price, and I felt like being put on a spot, and so I said that I saw that car just yesterday, so basically he thought I was lying, I then connected to their wifi and showed him the car and the deal I got on it...it was all there---to which, he said, he looked at another branch and not at the one I pulled up on the internet---Such Poor Customer service!, and imagine hinting that your customer is lying(Not in so many words..but you get the drift..). Anyways, I was there to get a car--so I didn't want to get too touchy and let it slide, then t finally another gentleman came, and said he would knock off 200$ on the 9K+$ car I said they got to do better than that, then the Manager (Randy Bush(?) )came to talk to me, he seemed so very arrogant and rude, upon asking what kind of discount I would get, he just went into rants on how they don't make any profit, and are not in the market for PROFIT., etc, then I told him of my visits to other dealerships and how they gave a holiday discount(It is Christmas), so he says(of course) that they are not like other dealerships and how their cars are already marked down...and gave me the whole Spiel, he kept on saying that he will infact have a loss, if he sell's me that car!!...really?, coming from a User car dealership, really??. I finally couldn't take his BS and asked him for the final price, so he said, he can't do ANY discounts, but he will knock off 50$, on the total price and that he will undergo a loss due to knocking off 50$, this coming from him, when his salesman had already told me he could knock off 200$ on the total price...so apparently they're a bunch of liars!!. I don't think the entire ANDY Mohr staff is like that but the Manager one Mr. Randy Bush, sure was rude, he almost walked out on me 3 times, while I was still talking, and was still seated Even my Friend who accompanied me noticed this, and we thought we made a mistake going there. Frankly, I am not sure how they make any business if they have such RUDE and totally unprofessional Sales Managers and Sales staff on the front lines!!! NOT ONE STAR!!!! Could not getbstar unlit.Thinking of buying a Honda from Stephens Honda? My advice is skip the Honda and get yourself a Toyota. I believe the Honda Service Dept. to be difficult, apathetic, and cluless to quality customer service. Unfortunately, in my opinion the service dept. manager to be the most difficult to work with. I feel he is rude, pushy, and offensive. I own a 2001 Honda Civic that had an airbag recall. When I contacted the service department, I was informed they did not have the parts needed to correct the dangerous and possibly deadly problem with the airbag but they would call when they received the needed equipment. After what I considered to be an unacceptable amount of time, I again contacted the dealership. This time I was informed that I would be notified by mail when they were equipped to make the necessary repair to make my only means of transportation safe. Again, I wait and wait and wait some more. I contact the dealership for a third time. This time I am informed that they have the parts in and I can schedule a service time. Why didnt someone contact me? Why is the process of making my only car safe to drive taking what i sincerely believe to be a ridiculous amount of timebto be corrected? Although aggravated, I have to make my car safe and schedule an appt.The Honda service department said they would give me a ride home. When I arrive for my service appt., I am waited on by the service manager. I was informed that there wasnt currently anyone to take me home at the moment and by the time the paperwork was filled out, my car would be done. What part of I dont have time to wait , did he not understand? Why tell me one thing and when I get there; its the opposite of what was mutually agreed on? I had a neighbor depending on me for childcare and left upset in a hazordous vehicle. I called corporate and informed them the next closest dealership was in Colombus. I then made a decision that I regret to return back to Stephens Honda in BTown. I stopped in to schedule the appt. n ask if it would be possible to have my broken hood latch comped to make up for all the aggravation I experienced. The man who waited on me said he would "check it out", I gave him my keys and was told to have a seat which i did expecting someone would fill me in momentarily. I was ignored and work was began on my car without anyone asking if i had time to wait. Feeling enough is enough of bad customer service, I ask the man who took my keys what was going on. I informed him I needed to get a child off the school bus in 15 minutes. He said I would have my car back in 5 minutes which I did. The fact remains I was left in the dark and ignored and work was started on my car without asking if I had the time to wait. I FEEL I WAS FORCED TO WAIT AND THE SERVICE DEPT. DID NOT CARE IF I WAS SATISFIED WITH THE SERVICE I RECEIVED. Should've drove to Colombus. Is it good business to force your will upon another? Corporate Honda said the service manager could authorize my hood latch bevreplaced free of charge. The rude service manager said it was not covered by warranty and I would have to pay to keep my hood from flying up and possibly destroying my windshield, blocking my vision, and/or cause an accident. The man who took my keys gives me an estimate for the hood latch, which you cannot buy at a parts store forcing me to the dealership. I was told the $93. estimate was a discount. I will find the part used and make the car safe and sell out of town so the buyer does not have to deal with the Btown dealership which i feel is COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL IN EVERY WAY. Bye Honda. Hello Toyota Camry. Honda Corporate could not authorize anything and informed me they were there to schedule service appts. IN MY OPINION, CORPORATE IS JUST A GROUP OF GLORIFIED RECEPTIONISTS. Went looking for a car I could afford as a student, and the man who helped me, Jason Anderson, was a wonderful salesman. He was not pushy or aggressive at all. Jason is a laid back man and he took his time to help me explore my options. He even gave my mother and I a few private moments to mull everything over ourselves. By far my favorite car salesman yet, I highly recommend him, and if I ever consider buying a car there again, I will be asking for his assistance. read more

Hyundai guys will only talk to you until they sell a car. Bad sales support. You won't get any reply or proper response. With my personal experience, they do not have any knowledge on the features of the car too. Anything you ask them, they say they are not familiar with the feature. Used to be excellent until the change in ownership. Now they can't identify a flat tire when they see one. I got a flat one night in December, called Allstate Roadside to put on the spare, brought it in to Honda the next day, and the relatively new point-person - not Sean or the other veteran, both of whom are highly competent - told me that it wasn't flat, that I must have "hit something." (I had problems with him on a previous visit when he refused to check for a key fob that I had ordered.) The same tire proceeded to gradually leak air until it fell off the rim, and I had to call Allstate Roadside again. (It was the same person who helped me as last time; she can vouch for the flat. I also took photographs this time, available upon request.) I'm very lucky that it didn't happen in dangerous weather or a remote area. In any case, I skipped Honda this time and got a new tire at Firestone. I'll be conducting my business away from Honda in the future. read more

It's ALWAYS a good idea to give a car dealership as little of your business as possible. In the case of Andy Mohr Honda in Bloomington, IN, that is doubly true, in spades, with a cherry on top. This dealership's handling of their part of the Honda/Takata airbag fiasco has been just awful, in my experience. I received the safety recall notices on both driver's and passenger's side airbag and took advantage of the option to surrender my 2007 Honda CR-V and take the rental car (an offer good only for the driver's side recall). This was early July. In the interim, I received two calls, from "James," at the dealership; one to tell me that the passenger's side airbag replacement was in (they suggested it was easier to get and might come first), and the second, on August 3, to tell me that the passenger's side airbag was replaced. Great, I thought; now when the driver's side is done, I'm good to return the rental, get my car, and put this major hassle in my rear view mirror, literally. Yesterday, August 11, I received another call from James. The driver's side airbag is replaced. I asked, in passing: the passenger's side as well, right? Pause. "I'll have to get back to you." 30 minutes later, a call. No, that passenger's side airbag is not in, not replaced. Honda loves to portray this kind of stuff (I'm trying to not use profane language here) as an "inconvenience," that they can apologize for, repeatedly, because, you know, apologies are free. But this is more than an inconvenience: it's a serious SAFETY issue, now compounded by a serious TRUST issue. I'm just supposed to believe that the driver's side airbag has been replaced, because today, James tells me it is? What will his story be tomorrow? Meanwhile, Honda tells me that the passenger's side airbag threat is no big deal: Just have my kids all ride in the back seat. Another "inconvenience," I guess. They're sorry. Another item to note: At the same time all this is going on, a second door lock has gone bad on my car and won't stay locked (another chronic problem and serious security/safety issue with this model). That was $244, so of course, they were happy to get THAT replaced properly. And for all this stuff, the dealership just loves to shrug its collective shoulders, say their hands are tied, nothing they can do. You gotta call Honda in Torrance, CA, here's the customer service number, hoping that you won't bother. Believe me, I have bothered, for what little good it will do. Let's not kid ourselves. The attitude of Honda service and sales staff toward customers is, at the end of the day, one of contempt. Anything else they project your way is hypocrisy. And they have dozens of little tricks to put customers on the defensive, get us to kiss their derrieres, and thank them for the privilege. It is worth it to go way out of your way to NOT give them your money. read more

Always able to get rides to and from and never feel like they recommend services in order to make money - they give me recommendations that save money. read more

I bought a gently used car from Stephen's Honda Hyundai and was impressed from start to finish with this dealership. I started out by looking online and found a couple cars I was interested in. After showing my interest, I was contacted by Obie R. and set up a time to test drive and take a look at the car. When I arrived, they took me right in with no wait time and my Sales Consultant, Eve Brendel allowed me to view and test the vehicle without hovering or pressuring me. Once I had decided the purchase the vehicle, Eve answered all my questions. She was great in explaining things and working with me on the price. Their fees were reasonable and I got a good deal on the car (according to KBB and TrueCar.com). They didn't even try to pressure me into adding on anything like additional warranties or additions. The dealership also made the buying process especially easy by partnering with the local credit union. It took away all the hassle of going back and forth if you finance through the bank! In all, the experience was great and you could tell that all the staff really cared about their customers and maintaining a professional and low-pressure atmosphere. read more

Please DO NOT take your vehicle to Stephens Honda Hyundai in Bloomington, Indiana for ANY body work your vehicle needs. I have never been treated so poorly in my life from a business that states they are there to please the customer and especially a customer who was in a different state when the accident occurred. I have never had a body shop have my vehicle for 3 months out of 6 months so far this year and it still isn't fixed correctly for a job that could've taken another body shop in town a couple weeks (they had my vehicle 2 separate times). They not only didn't fix the things they should've from the accident, but they also messed up other things on my vehicle that weren't messed up in the first place. They were paid by insurance to put new parts of my vehicle, but instead they didn't buy the new parts and tried to put pieces of rubber behind parts to make them looked fixed. Not fixing a door that wouldn't shut because they stated that's all the time insurance paid them for, so if it wasn't fixed right then that's not their fault. They also broke the door panel on the door and instead of buying a new one, since they broke it or calling me and notifying me about it they just put a dry wall screw through the panel to hold it to the door. So now after taking my vehicle to this body shop twice it's still not fixed and now I have more problems. The women who work at the front desk of the body shop are some of the rudest people and are very uneducated about their job and its functions. The people who are working doing body work and paint seem to also be uneducated about their job or just don't care about their jobs and or their customers. I have over spray on my vehicle where there shouldn't be and no one said anything about it. I tried to wait to talk to the general manager about these problems and he stood up from his chair and walked to the doorway or his office and stated that he wouldn't' speak with me about any problems any longer. Please do not use them for any body work because I would hate for this to happen to anyone else! read more
