Alright we have a problem with this place, the custard is waayyyy toooo good and it melts too fast so you have to eat it and get brain freeze! But anyways, this is the latest phenoma in Pflugerville and they have it brilliantly placed right across from the water park, they always have a line and expedite with people that take your order using tablets (which is ironic because they have on the menu that they do it the old fashioned way) So I kept getting recommendations to go here, and we tried one of their small concretes which is plenty big to share or have refrozen for later. They have an option to add hot fudge in the center and blend it around and it is like you die and go to heaven. Their custard is very silky and I am told the chocolate is even better than the vanilla. They also have craft sodas and malts and floats and sundaes...oh my. I mean, I'll admit, that after sharing a medium with my chief ice-cream sharer, I was craving something salty / savory to cut the sweetness but all those flavors were on point. Andy's -- please don't change a thing. Also, pro tip: get your custard JACKED. (A "jackhammer" is where they put a fudge core inside your custard.) GO BIG OR GO HOME, AMIRITE? Also, these things are rich. Custard is richer than ice cream, so I suggest sharing. If you order the "Quadruple Chocolate", you might just get a few extra high-fives. At what point does a a company that has been around since 1986 figure out how to handle being short staffed. Today when we came to the window of the newly built andy's, one window open with 3 or 4 other employees behind the rail making food. The window person is taking orders, yelling them back to the staff, and also passing made food out the same window. With really no system of verifying who had ordered what except the customers hearing and remembering what they ordered. Just a cluster f#*$. The ice cream was good. Hence the 4 star. read more

My husband and I each got a small concrete. I got the mint chocolate chip, and it was so strong with mint flavor I could only stand to eat about 1/4th of it before I just couldn't take it anymore. My husband got the triple chocolate one with cookie dough, and like mine, it was really strong with chocolate flavor. I realize it was a "triple chocolate", but it was so strong it was bitter. It had very little thickness to it and had an artificial chocolate flavor to it reminiscent of hershey's syrup. In fact, it reminded me of the shakes I used to make with way too much hershey's syrup. Andy's is hands down my favorite place to satisfy my sweet tooth! Both the Chocolate & Vanilla Custards are so delicious and creamy on their own,but their concretes and sundaes are amazing as well. For the chocolate lover such as myself, the Triple Chocolate Concrete or the Stolen Brownie Sundae are the way to go! The atmosphere is so fun and gives off that 1950s soda/ice cream shoppe feel. The 50s music they play and the misters they turn on during the summer make the experience so pleasant. The only reason I give only four stars is because of the portion sizes- the small is actually huge and it can get a tad overwhelming. When I asked if a concrete could be served in a kid's cup, they said no. Not a big deal though.
