Called all around my city and nearby cities and no one was able to provide the service of sewing a patch onto a leather motorcycle vest. I took a chance and called Andy carlos and I was told to "bring it in and wee will see what we can do". When I got there and explained what I needed he told me "No problem is Friday good for you", I was like heck yeah. I got my messenger bag back today! I was gifted a messenger bag with a commemorative patch from a cruise I attended in 2019. The patch started peeling off and eventually fell off completely. Took 3 visits for them to correct issues and they marred the shoe. Took in a relatively expensive leather soled dress shoe because a small pocket opened up on the side of the sole (probably 1inch and not very deep). He told me that a more expensive re-glue of the entire sole was needed to do the job properly, not just a spot glue/fix. I followed his recommendation and told him to go ahead. To repeat all I asked for was a reglue. Went to pick up the shoe and, not only was the same gap between the sole, the shoe was covered in that gloppy fake black over dye used on police boots (noticeable streaks of black dye all over the bottom of the leather sole is how I could tell it wasn't a cream/conditioner with color or just shine) and there were glue smudges all over the leather upper. The shoe was shined, well taken care of and had no scratches what so ever when I took them in...they did not need that fake looking liquid over dye and I did not ask for anything else to be done to the shoe. Due to the black over dye, the side leather of the sole did not match the natural leather color of the other shoe. On top of that, it looked like he only did a spot glue and did not address the whole sole like he said. He agreed and told me to leave the shoe and he would redo it. Went the third time and it looked like all he did was fill the gap with something or add a drop of glue because I could still see the exact same spot and the uppers were still smudged with glue and dye. We got into a minor exchange after he had an attitude and said that there were no problems and he was done. I went home, got the other shoe and took it to him to show the difference. He had an attitude and said something to the affect of now seeing what the problems are. He buffed the uppers and buffed the sole edge to expose a bit of leather. This exposed scratches that only he could have made in his messy shop and not protecting the upper when doing the work. I begrudgingly took my shoes and used black conditioner at home to hide the scratches and sanded the sole edge to match better. The original spot is still visible and I should have just glued it a bit at home. This shop used to be great many years ago, but now I will never go back. I've had friends with similar horror stories with their custom made riding boots. TLDR: bad attitude and bad work read more

Does not stand behind his work. I needed new soles and some stitching replaced on men's shoes. Andy wanted to replace the heels too and gave me a price of over $120. I told him I could buy a new paid for less than that. I had him do half soles and the stitching. The shoes were not ready when he said they would be. I had to make a return trip a week later. The soles lasted only 2 weeks of wearing before a hole developed in one and the other was 99% worn through. Other pairs of the same shoes have been resoled at other places and lasted more than 6 months of wearing. So I took them back to Andy as he advertises "SATISFACTION IS GUARANTEED ON ALL REPAIRS". At first Andy denied that they were even the shoes he repaired. Then he claimed that he could only put leather that was the same thickness as the leather he took off. So what? And then claimed that other parts of the shoe he fixed was not of his doing. Yikes. So many excuses! He wanted $35 more to 'patch' the holes. No thanks. I'm done with Andy. Never again will I let him touch my shoes. He does not stand behind his guarantee and uses poor quality materials. read more

LIAR AND A CHEAT. This guy made a mistake on doing an alteration for me and tried to claim over and over it was me. Claimed he said I marked the spot to cut it and when we even went back and looked at the material there was no mark anywhere.(cause I offered to make a mark and he was to cool to even pay attention and then said no no no I got it when he never even looked ) so HE WANTED TO CHARGE ME AGAIN TO DO IT RIGHT. Just a rip off. Don't pay this guy first or do any business here. Then he tried to say well you folded it at the spot. And I told him no you told me to measure how much to take out. ANDY is in denial. Took a black Calvin Klein belt to this place to have the belt buckle either fixed or replaced. He said he would replace the buckle and it would be ready in a week. I week later it was not ready he claims he couldn't find thae belt buckle. I took him the buckle. A week later i picked up my belt it was no longer a Calvin Klein belt and the belt loop was brown he lost the orginal leather belt loop and replaced it was a very traditional brown belt loop it didnt match the belt and the loop is to small that its hard to slide the belt through it and insted of the shoe eyes that needed to be fixed he used big over sized rivets. I hand this belt for a very long time and he just ruined it and when i try to tell him he started yelling he could see the color difference avoid going here. read more

Have had one pair of boots "repaired" here and will never return. Will look into calling the Better Business Bureau. I will start off by admitting the boots I had work done on are cheap (I know this and was upfront with the shop upon drop off). Nonetheless, I was told they could be fixed. The owner later denied this claim but I pointed out that they gladly took my money which is the clearest way to possibly say "Yes! We can fix them." I requested my $65 back and he would only agree if he was able to take "his material" off. WHAT?! Maybe this is logical exchange but how would that leave the boots? Surely not in the same condition I brought them in. The owner also became irrationally irate when I called his work "crappy" and said "we don't speak here like that, we don't curse." That isn't a curse word in my opinion but I also have a larger vocabulary than most. He then threw his hands in the air, defeated, and exclaimed "we're done here" which was a clear indication that he was kicking me out of his shop. Oh how easy it is for you to treat customers this way once you've stolen (yes, I used this word purposely) their money and made a big mess of their property. He did at some point try to explain the mechanics of the sole and "blah, blah, blah, you would be stepping on your arch and blah, blah" which at that point I didn't care much for his excuses. Prior to my one (minimal) use of the boots I was already annoyed with the work and service provided by the shop because they: 1. Told me they would be ready in seven days and when I showed up 11 days later he was still working on them and they wouldn't be ready for at least another 15 minutes which I didn't have time to wait. I made no complaint about this in the moment but don't make false claims, if you state a date hold true to it. 2. The entire sole wasn't replaced which was my initial understanding (but I had no documentation of specifics). Just the heel at $65. Overpriced. read more

So where do I begin. I came to Andy's because I heard his shine lasts a long time and needs very low maintenance. So of course, I do my research and see that his comments and reviews aren't the greatest, but I figured I would give him the benefit of the doubt. I get quoted for a shine for all my work leather gear, Danner boots, and a resoling of my boots. Priced at $300.00 for all items. Definitely over priced in my opinion, but I wanted to give him my business, so I went with it. He told me all items would be ready in a few days. A few days had passed and I called to verify if my boots are ready and he said they were. I drive all the way up from my home to his business location, and they were not finished at all like he said. So he said come back in a couple hours, so me being more than reasonable with him, I came back in a couple hours. Once again, my items were not finished like he said they would be. Andy and his wife ended up driving all my items to my home, which I appreciated, even though I had to wait almost until 2200 hours, mind you I called him and he told me they would be ready at 1200 in the afternoon. He then forgot the cleaning kit that was supposed to be apart of my $300.00 dollar purchase. After about 2 days with my "Re-Soled" boots, the sole has already torn off and come apart. The fact that this has already happened has me questioning if he actually indeed did resole my boots. I once again had to drive up to his work location and have him fix the issue. When I picked up my boots, he gave me a lame attempt as to why the boots were coming apart as to my actions. Andy or his wife we're not empathetic at all to the customer and showed zero regard by not even apologizing when I picked up my boots. In conclusion, you have lost touch with your customers, and if you have any sort of integrity and are just honest with us, it will go along way. I will not be recommending your services to any of my fellow law enforcement professionals because you simply lack integrity and do careless work. Remarkable job on police boots!!! This was our first experience with Andy's and they made my daughter's police boots look like glass! Super shiny with some sort of wax/leather luster finish that comes with a 3-month warranty. They encouraged me to buy a self-cleaning kit for $24 to do my own touch-ups at home. I'm told this will make the warranty last longer and that I shouldn't need the boots professionally done again until about 6-months from now. In my opinion, they are very pricey, but I really don't have anything to compare this type of shine to. The down side is that the boots were originally supposed to be ready on Saturday at 1 p.m. Luckily I called before making the 20-minute drive to La Verne because they were NOT ready. I was asked to pick them up on Sunday at Noon, but then I was called because they wouldn't be ready until Tuesday. When I arrived on Tuesday, I had to wait for about 10-minutes while they buffed them out and re-inserted the laces. The quality of the shine was worth 5-stars, but the service with all the delays brought my review down to 4. All in all, I would use them again. Just not if I'm in a rush to get the boots back. I brought my shoes on to have the hell replaced. They died the entire shoe dark brown. Then denied that and said they didn't put anything on it but polish. My shoes are sticky they have so much crap on them, and the dye is streaked. My tan pair of $110 shoes are now brown.
