I got jerk shrimp with cabbage and Mac & cheese. It's really good, when they prepare your food they make sure it stays warm. Cabbage came out a little soft, Mac and cheese is on point don't even have to put hot sauce on it. I want to try the roti next time I go in. They only negative is they don't accept orders through the phone only grub hub or Uber eats which I don't use either apps. I don't mind coming to pick it up but just have a phone if I had a question about a particular food how is a customer suppose to get in contact with them ? This review is for the Anegada Delights food truck. I I was a little skeptical prior to going for 2 reasons 1. The Caribbean restaurants in this area are not the best. Its actually quite disappointing to be in such a diverse area and not be able to find good Caribbean food. 2. A friend visited and mentioned they did not like the food. Although I was told they didn't like the food, that is never really a major factor to deter me. I mean don't get me wrong, I do take it into consideration what my friends have to say but I must try it for myself. The venue is not visible off the road but there's lots of free parking and a nice seating area that's is very clean and inviting. The staff keeps everything very clean. It's easy to pop in grab lunch when you take a break from work because it is right in the commercial business park. It's located inside an office build and I'd suggest you enter on the backside of the building. It's somewhat hard to see but you can get to the restaurant from either entrance of the building. There's plentiful selections of drinks from sorrel to pineapple and ginger with kola of course! The ambience is nice with the Island music playing softly in the background. We stepped outside of our comfort zone and ordered a jerk Turkey for thanksgiving 2020. Unbelievable! The best Turkey I've ever had hands down, and I've had Amish Turkey, "famous" fried turkeys, turkeys fresh off the farm and the list goes on and on. I usually have a few slices and I'm done. Negatives- The service was not that great hence my rating. I ordered online and was quoted 30 minutes for my food. I arrived late to allow for extra time and the food still took 1.5 hours to finish. It seemed like they did not realize I ordered patties because I was told that the patties needed to be prepared and hadn't been prepared yet. It seems odd to do the patties after the other food. A nice little Caribbean food spot in a nondescript office park. The real stars of the show here were the sides. I shit you not, Anegada Delights has the best mac and cheese I have ever tasted. When I opened my to go box container, I could smell the flavor wafting off the Mac and cheese. I think it is cooked with onions (?) which gives it an added pleasant crunch. The plantains were golden brown and crisped to perfection. In terms of proteins, I have tried both the jerk chicken and the oxtail here. I liked the generous portion of oxtail - my only gripe was that there were some large bits of fat that hadn't cooked all the way down. The flavor was pretty good and I cleaned up all the sauce with the Mac. I wasn't really a fan of the jerk chicken because it comes in chunks of meat rather than whole breast/thigh pieces + it was a little oily. The portion size also left a little to be desired. I always get the brown stew snapper. Love the flavor. My daughter gets the oxtails. They are yummy. Best Caribbean place in the area. I tried the chicken patty and cocoa bread. The owner and head chef came out to talk to me about the order. He is a super nice guy, offering me free samples of a few dishes he was whipping up, each better than the last.
