Let me preface this review by saying that my husband and I are long term visitors to Anejo at Wildlight. We started going here shortly after it opened while in the home buying process and have continued to enjoy it ever since. On Friday (1/24/25) evening, we brought 4 friends from out of town to have dinner and drinks. We arrived shortly before 7 and the hostess said it would be about a 15 minute wait. Perfect. We'll wait at the bar. This is where the problem started. We stood at the bar the entire time we waited for a table and not one person acknowledged us. Not a "I'll be right with you", nothing. The bartender was HOPPING, clearly making drinks for tables as it was busy but no other employee even attempted to make eye contact with us. In less than 15 minutes, the hostess told us our table was ready and this is where the service actually started. We had Carlos as our server and he was friendly, funny and attentive! We all ordered margaritas that should have been our second drinks but I digress. The drinks were delicious as was the food. Everyone at the table loved their meals. Shrimp bowl, birria tacos, taco salad, 2 different burritos and another taco meal. All very good, hot and perfectly presented. But the sting of being ignored stuck around. We stood inside the entrance with a short female at the hostess stand on the phone. She said she would be with us and went back to her phone call. Several waitstaff and a manager walked past us numerous times. Not one including the manager spoke as we stood there. The male manager had dark hair and was asking people already eating how it was and refilling drinks as we stood l. After a very long time we turned around and left without one word from the hostess or anyone. With that kind of complete lack of interest in our business we will not be back. We waited over an hour for our food to come out, when it did it was terrible. My sister got a Taco Salad that had about a pound of ground beef and nothing else. The meat also had a burnt flavor and mushy texture. I asked for no guacamole on my plate, as I am allergic to avocado. Despite telling the waitress 3 times, my plate had guacamole. When she brought it back, it was the same plate. I couldn't eat anything around it. Also, be aware that kids meals do not include a drink. Despite being child size, the cost it the same as an adult size beverage. I spoke to the Manager about each issue, he shrugged his shoulders. This place used to be really good. Took 30 minutes to get tacos because they gave our food to the wrong table. When we finally received our food, no one checked to see how it was, so I asked the hostess for extra sauce, which she never brought me, eventually, the server checked in so I asked her. I ordered a taco to go which took 15 minutes after our meal when the server said she would put the order in when she brought our food out. My friends plate had a chip on the edge almost the size of a quarter. Last, the server took 10 minutes to bring the change from the taco. We had to ask her 3 times for the change. The service isn't very good. The manager should have checked in with us after our food was given to another table. The food is okay, but I wouldn't recommend or dine there again. read more

TLDR: Decent Food, Can be very busy, Great Ambiance/Atmosphere, Service can be hit or miss depending on how busy it is. I have been here a few times and just realized I haven't done a review, but being a repeat customer I guess kinda speaks for itself. Overall the food is decent. Chorizo Fundido: 5/5 - Very flavorful, careful its hot. Main Street Corn: 3/5 - Kinda bland, not much more to say about that. Steak Chimichanga: 5/5 - Flash Fried Burrito with queso, sign me up! Chicken Chimichanga: 4/5 - Only complaint that I remember is the chicken was a little dry. Chicken Rice Bowl: 5/5 - Awesome Price, Great Portion Size, Wonderful season and flavors, Rice is cooked well, the little side quesdillas it comes with are an amazing touch packed with even more flavor. Honestly thought it was going to be a simple dish due to the price but its packs flavor WAY above its price. Birria Quesadilla: 4/5 - Great flavor, the Birria wasn't as tender as I expected it to be. My tastebuds are overwhelmed!!! I cannot believe the amount of flavor in the Mole Poblano!! I have NEVER had such a flavorful bite of...anything!! When I ordered the Mole (pronounced mo-ley), our waiter's eyebrows lifted, and I know why after tasting. The chicken is perfectly seasoned and cooked. The black beans were good. The rice was good. BUT LET ME TELL YOU WHAT!! The flavors in this Mole...sweet. Savory. Delicious. I taste...roasted something. And brown sugar? Not very much heat, but loads of flavor. And I hear it's made in house. I didn't want to eat it all at once so I could have it again!!! The restaurant is nice looking. Lots of TVs. Nice bar. Everything was "good." I can't say everything was excellent but it was definitely not bad! Salsa is decent. Chips are thicker than I like but still good. We did have to ask for water three times. The queso was very good. The margarita was excellent! The prices are a bit high but our bill was lower than expected thanks to the $3 happy hour price! I came in with low expectations based off reviews and was pleasantly surprised! Reviews complained about waiting for food but ours came out fast and hot (though at slightly different times). The queso was really good. The salsa and chips were good too. Salsa was very cold! House margs are delicious-if you're getting 3 or more you save 50% by getting a pitcher. Keto taco was just ok my mom said-cheese shell wasn't crunchy. Dad liked his shrimp quesadilla. I loved my chicken tacos. I got them american style and added onions and cilantro. So good!!! This was my second time visiting this restaurant. The first time they had just opened so I thought maybe the bad service combined with the poor food quality was overlooked and I gave them another chance hoping a few months gave them time to improve. They did not. The chips taste like tostitos or some generic chip. Not warm, thick and stale. For me the chips are the most important part. The salsa is fine but the chips take away from that. I ordered a shrimp chimichanga. The first thing I noticed was it was not deep fried. I call what I got a burrito. I cut into it to find a black meat in it, I thought maybe it was just the light, took a bite and it was awful. It was REALLY overcooked steak. I sent it back to get shrimp and the server said " you ordered steak" which I certainly did not. When I got the right meal the shrimp did not taste fresh and did not have any Mexican spices at all on it. This place is usually busy but they have a long happy hour so maybe people come here to drink. I had really high hopes when they were building this place and have been sadly disappointed. When I finished I waited 20 minutes for a check finally going to the hostess station to get it. The server brought it to me there, cashed me out and hovered over me as I totaled it out. read more

We received a $50 gift card here for Christmas so I looked at menu, read the Yelp reviews and was a little apprehensive bec so much negativity in service. Well we did not experience any of that! We were seated right away, server was pleasant, chip/salsa was good, margaritas were great! Food came out hot, my burrito supreme had four diff ones with chunky salsa, avocado and sour cream on top. Now they weren't the huge ones as noted with other item but still I took home 1 and half bc I was full (margaritas ). My husband got steak fajitas and the hot plate was huge with meat, green peppers and onions snd the set up with four small wraps. He ate the steak in four wraps snd was full also; had a little to take home. We go to pay with gift card and another card bc went over $50; they said couldn't use gift card bc not purchased there? Card had Yulee location on it so not sure what that meant. Probably this needs addressed between these two locations (Riverside and here). read more

We dined here last night and we were treated like royalty! The waiters were super attentive and nice and the food was absolutely delicious! And huge portions! The guacamole was freshly made and very tasty just as I like it, the kids shared a rice bowl with chicken that was so good the chicken was perfectly moist kids loved it! I tried the mole poblano, my friend had veggie burrito that was so big I think all of us could have just shared that The restaurant and restrooms were clean, new, friendly and great with kids! read more

Extremely poor service and food now mediocre. Came in on a Sunday night for drinks and appetizers. The place was busy but it appeared to be well staffed with the exception of the bar. Our server was slow and barely made any attempts to come to our booth. The drinks tasted "off" and were overpriced. Food was good but we noticed a common trend of others getting their food before us. I think our server forgot about us and didn't put our order in to the kitchen. When we were ready to close our check, our server was again not present and ignored us. We ended up having to wait in front of the hostess stand and call multiple times so we could pay our check. Heard the restaurant temporarily closed after that night. Honestly I hope they revamp the place or permanently close. It's too bad because in the past when we ordered take out, the food was amazing and the customer service was excellent. We are new to the area and had great hopes for this place we have been twice. The service has just been mediocre from the bartender who takes his time to make whatever drink you order. I come here regularly and I always have good service. This is a big serving of soup and always food left over to take home. It is my go to, its flavor is delicious and it is not expensive. I get very little rice, more broth because of dietary restrictions and they always accommodate me. There are no tortillas in it which I like plus I have tortilla chips at the table. I went to both place and pick up an order; the hostess was very kind and although the restaurant was very busy, she was quick at taking my order and put it in to the kitchen immediately. Had many friends highly recommend this place. We came in and were told the wait would be :40 minutes. We had a party of six but had to wait for a party of 12 to be seated before us. Two hours of parties of four were seated before us. After 2:20 minutes we we're finally seated. We drank three pitchers of margaritas while waiting and asked to be comped for one due to the wait. We stopped in around 2 pm on a Monday only 3-4 tables in the whole restaurant . We were greeted, sat , and they brought chips n salsa right away as well as our drinks. I ordered 2 of the Mahi Tacos, the wife had a taco salad. We thought everything was pretty good. Nothing out of this world but pretty solid . The regular salsa with the chips waa sorta bland but i did hear our server saying to another table they had some other variations with different heat . Maybe we'll try that next time. I would say its on the pricey side but i think everything is nowadays what used to be $5 is now $10 and so on no matter where you go. But you wont find any $6 lunch specials here nor did we expect it. Atmosphere is great and the building is fairly new . I would not hesitate to eat here again if we are in the area.
