Everything was quite good, but the carnitas was not fall apart slow cooked pork butt, as it's supposed to be. It was just fast browned lean cubes of pork. It was quite tasty, so I didn't complain. But it didn't ease my craving for carnitas at all, because it was nothing like actual carnitas. I asked if it was good before ordering. What I meant was, is it what you say it is? Because otherwise I would have been happier with some simple chicken tacos. It's kind of insulting to be served some browned cubed pork loin instead of the mexican slow-cooked fall apart bbq I tried to order. Like we don't know any better around here. read more

This place was a riot. Jam packed on Sunday night at 7pm, we were seated quickly, and in the middle of full on Mexican kitsch. I had a Texas margarita, which had some kick to it, and enchiladas rancheros...I swear I got 2 chicken breasts in those enchiladas. The waiter was very attentive (cause we were beside the cash register). He brought me a hotter sauce for my enchiladas, and tried to get me to buy another drink. I love trying new places when I'm traveling. This was truly a wonderful treasure find. It is hidden in a small strip mall. The food was amazing and so reasonably priced. The salsa is delicious. Be careful to not fill up on the nachos though. The portions are huge. We are coming back to take advantage of the margarita drink specials for $3.25. read more

We are locals who have been to Anejo many times. The food is hit or miss. Last week though, we had a disturbing experience. The hours indicate the restaurant is open until 9:00. We arrived a little after eight. Our dinner was served and the food was good, but our objection was the smell of the floor cleaner. The floor was being moped as we ate. Not a pleasant experience when you are trying to eat your dinner. Before we finished our meal, chairs were being put up which was also very off putting. A couple came in around 8:45 and was told that they were closed. In a town with few options, customer service doesn't seem important. It is a shame that the hours are not adhered to. You definitely should not have to smell cleaning fumes while eating a dinner that you paid for. They can do better! read more

I just had the tastiest, tastiest dinner at this place. I mean, really notably delicious. Given, I only tried one dish, but it was phenomenal. Enchiladas Yucatan - shrimp enchiladas with green sauce. I don't know how something that simple can taste so good, but there you have it. And my food came super quick. And the chips and salsa were solid. This used to be 5 stars for me, but they changed the menu and got rid of a lot of my favorites. They also got rid of the grilled vegetables that you could get instead of rice and beans. Very good place. Been there a couple times. Good for vegetarians. Service was excellent, pretty quick and attentive. Food was really good. No, it's not Cantina Laredo or some other bougie mex place, but it's quite tasty and worth going. I've had the veggie quesadillas and the veggie stuffed poblanos and they're both quite good. My kid got the hot dog and fries and that was fine too. Pretty good tasting fries for not specialising in that kind of food. I've not had any of the meat at this place but my folks said it was good, and they tend to be picky about food. Oh, the portions are pretty big. Definitely a lot of food for the money. read more
