Came here for lunch after the NYC 1/2 marathon. The place was crowded but the vibe was amazing! The staff was friendly and the salsa music was fun! The wait staff was super attentive and patient as we had a very large group. We ordered guacamole and chips to start. The guacamole was very good and obviously fresh. I ordered a mimosa and mah mahi tacos for lunch. The Mimosa was great. The tacos lacked unique flavor to be honest. They were bland. Overall a great restaurant. I'd def try one of the more flavorful dishes next time

I've come here a few times and have determined the food here is solid, but regardless of the time of day or how busy they are, the service is unbearably slow. Most recently, I went there for an early dinner. I just caught the tail end of their happy hour and the restaurant wasn't very busy. I always get the guacamole and salsa combo, it is a bit pricey but totally worth it. I love all of their 4 different salsas they make in house and the healthy serving of guacamole. This appetizer is definitely enough for at least 3 people to share. For the entree, my table got pork carnitas tacos, crispy fish tacos, salmon a la veracruzana, and pollo adobado. The chicken was delicious and cooked perfectly with a crispy skin. The salmon was seared perfectly, but I expected more flavor from the vegetables. The tacos are always solid, but could be a bit more spices. In the past, I've been to their brunch a few times but it was just too chaotic the last time we went so I try to avoid it. During a weekend brunch, they get pretty busy so slower service is somewhat expected. However, it is a bit frustrating when they offer bottomless cocktails and you have to wait quite some time for the next drink. Their bottomless brunch includes cocktails (including margaritas) and guacamole. In the past, they've included coconut french toast as desert. The coconut french toast is still on the menu and is a must try as it was a favorite among my table. Their carne asada con huevos is pretty standard. The yucca fries are more like tots and I would have liked them to be more crispy. In the past, they had shrimp and grits and pork carnitas breakfast tacos. The shrimp and grits were well seasoned and the shrimp cooked perfectly, but the breakfast tacos needed a sauce. It is a nice casual local restaurant and always has availability. I would say going there for happy hour is definitely worth it, but wouldn't recommend going there if you didn't have ample time to hang around.

Great option for Mexican grub. Only complaint is that you can't mix and match tacos :(. Service is quick and excellent. We stopped by on a Monday evening and were seated immediately and it wasn't too busy.

Ambience was really nice. We went in around 3pm and it was quiet, which made for a perfect late lunch. Service was excellent; our waiter was super attentive. The birria tacos were a 10/10, and the consommé was just as good. As it got later, the place definitely picked up, and we spotted what looked like a margarita flight that caught our eye

Bestie picked this restaurant to celebrate her birthday here,and it was absolute perfection. I have not been this impressed with a Mexican restaurant in a very long time (I am picky, I like authentic as it gets). If my dish does not have cilantro, onions, and a million sauces, salsas then I don't want it!!! The dishes were flowing smoothly, and felt like a grandmother from Mexico was cooking her best recipes. The food was incredibly fresh and delicious. Service was nice as well. Restaurant is on the smaller side, but that is what makes it cozy. My friends and I collectively all said this might be a new go to from now on. Oh I almost forgot the coconut cake was a show stopper. Absolutely come here, thanks bestie for finding this place, you never disappoint!!

In search of good Mexican food, I happened to find Anejo and dined here with friends after seeing a broadway show. This place has THE best Mexican food I have tasted in a long time! Everything is so fresh! I could taste every single flavor in my shrimp tacos! The shrimp was cooked so tenderly. The fresh cilantro and cotija cheese was beyond! The pork belly tostadas were also incredible! Guac and chips were ordered for the table and we all were blown away by the freshness and taste. Service was great! The place is small but cozy and I loved that. I'm used to overcrowded restaurants, but this small somewhat local feel was very nice. I will definitely return! Anejo blew me away!

Great Mexican food in Hell's kitchen. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and lively. Service was prompt and attentive. We enjoyed having dinner while watching a few tables on first dates. We ordered lamb and fish tacos (which come in two or three), the guacamole and salsa combo, and a side of esquites. This is one of the best esquites I've ever had!! The guacamole and salsa combo was interesting because it came with so many sauces. I was very happy! I can see that this is a great date spot and local eatery.

We decided to come here as a party of 4 on a Friday evening, entertaining our friends with some Mexican food they don't normally get at home overseas. Knowing it was Friday, we were able to get a reservation in at a pretty early time at 6:30pm. This came in handy as we were here at the restaurant for just over 2 hours, which was mostly by choice, but a luxury worth having. The place itself is not too large. There are tables indoors and a decent amount outdoors. The indoor seating is split between high tables and regular tables. I originally chose a low table, but as it was next to the bathroom, we opted to swap it for a high table instead. Smart choice. For starters, we decided to go for the guacamole + salsa combo. Our waiter was nice enough to swap the traditional guac with the spicy pineapple guac. Smart choice as the spicy pineapple guac had a dope taste to it. However, we truly enjoyed the variety of salsas as they had different levels of kicks to complement the taste palettes. Also, the chips were plentiful too and we were able to get extras as we had a ton of salsa to get through. Also, as a party of 4, it made the most economical sense to split a pitcher of margarita as it allowed us to get the best bang for our buck. I think it amounted to around 6 glasses for the 4 of us. We went with the signature Anejo margarita with the spicy salt, which was quite refreshing. As for dinner, my girl and the other couple split 2 non-vegetarian tacos, which turned out to be plenty. I opted for the enchiladas verde with veggies. This was really good and it wasn't too heavy. All in all - very solid meal and a fun dinner. I'd recommend.

I came here for bottomless brunch with my friends. We had a really great time. Everyone at the table has to participate. I loved that brunch came with chips, guac, and salsa. The chips were on the thick side, which I love. The guac was thick, which I also love. We also got French toast to share before our appetizers. People got margaritas and mimosas. My friends said the margaritas were strong. Service was great! I would definitely come back.

We came for happy hour. The A/C was blasting to the point we had to put our jackets on! The sangria was good; empanadas were not very special (but were inexpensive too, so..); queso fondido was nice and cheesy (but quickly got too cold and tough as it was so cold inside the restaurant), and th loaded yuca fries were delicious and refreshing. We were on our way to another restaurant in mid town when we passed by Añejo. Must have been fate that the other place ended up closed for Labor Day, because we came back and had a great meal. We came in around 5:45 and they had no problem getting us in and out comfortably before our show at 7. We started with the Salsa quatro sampler, followed by the Pork belly tostadas and Carne arrechera. The white sauce and the salsa verde were my favorite 2 salsas of the bunch. I highly recommend the carne arrechera. The beef was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the pickled vegetables that came with it were tasty too. I don't normally find the side of rice and beans interesting enough to finish, but they were delicious here.

Anejo has the best margaritas in New York. Don't believe me, well both the New York Times and Infatuation have also proclaimed the Anejo margaritas the best around. The tequila list is extensive and the other cocktails are great too. The food is very good too. All the tacos are great, as is the mushroom queso fundido. But remember to try some of their awesome margaritas. read more

Overall this was a very nice find. We started with the guacamole and salsa combo (Chips and Guacamole; Salsa Trio) and it was very good. You could tell the chips were house made, the guacamole was fresh and chunky, and the salsas had amazing flavors. The crème salsa was my favorite. My friend ordered the tequila flight, but does not like mezcal and they were wonderful enough to replace that with another of the margaritas. I started with the Blanco Margarita and it was fabulous. I would have had several more, but our server had disappeared and by the time she came back, we had settled on leaving and going elsewhere. We both ordered two tacos, the lamb and the beef birria. Both were fresh, had amazing flavors, and were quite satisfying. The space was intimate (small) and was a tad loud. There was a table having a grand time, which was mostly what you could hear. We later found out our server disappeared to help translate for someone, but still would have been nice to have been helped by someone else after we had gotten our food and finished our drinks. Another server eventually helped us pay our bill so we could leave. Overall, food was good, but everything else lacked. read more

DO NOT CELEBRATE ANY SPECIAL OCCASIONS especially not birthday they don't care! For starters service was terrible so do not come here. Service was passive aggressive the entire time.hyper analysis the entire table made us feel uncomfortable.Food was bland drink we're sub par. had To flag down server for the two drinks we did have mind you claim to be bottomless it's laughable .Management was rude.Management disgusting..Wait it gets better they asked us to leave after paying for 2 hour brunch.Terrible experience just not the vibe at all. Went here post Saturday Matinee. Easy walk from Broadway Show. Funky, fun vibe. Lots of exposed brick, large bar, high and low tables, indoor/outdoor seating, large windows. Not a big place and they comfortably make the most of the space. Make a reservation. The food was yummy! Yummy! Yummy! Started with margaritas, guac and homemade chips. All good and recommend. My friend had enchiladas (she loved it). I had tuna ceviche and a squash side dish. Omg - the tuna service was fantastic. A week later and I can't stop thinking about it. Delish!!! We shared churros for dessert - came with three dipping sauces. The churros were small, crunchy and yummy. Different and still yummy. read more

Before our visit to NYC we called Anejo to make sure that they would be participating in the event the last week as that is when we were going to be there. They said they would be so we were very excited to hear the Yes. When we arrived they said that they were no longer participating but when I said that we had called they went ahead and offered us the menu they had offered the previous weeks. My sister and I both ordered the flight of margaritas that included a Blanco, Anejo, Jalapeno and a Mezcal margarita. My favorite was definitely the Jalapeno. It was amazing. I really didn't care for the Mezcal but I added some lime and it was better. We ordered the guacamole as our appetizer and it was amazing. Nice tortilla chips served with it as well as some great salsa. I ordered the Carnita tacos and my sister ordered the Short rib tacos. We swapped one with each other so we could both enjoy the deliciousness. They were both amazing. They had a coconut flan to go with the meal and even though we were both very, very full we enjoyed the flan. It was very light and refreshing. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere of Anejo and will definitely go back next time we are NYC. read more

went to brunch with co-workers and I ordered the Morning Tacos. We also got pitchers of Margarita and Sangria for the table. The portions of the food was filling and service was decent. The only aspect I did not like was that our table was very narrow, and for a party of 7, the plates/pitchers/water cups was a tight fit. I had to be careful to not knock someone's drinks over when grabbing the water pitcher. Otherwise it's a solid place! read more

We stumbled upon Añejo randomly last week and happy we did. Contact tracing required before seating, temperature checks, masks everywhere, barriers between tables/sections, sanitizer at the table, contactless menu and pay options. Very impressed! The place has a great selection of Liquor you'd have a hard time finding somewhere else. Their margarita flights were absolutely delicious and the bartender is so much fun and loved to interact with the guests. We got the guac and salsa combination, the habanero sauce was my favorite. We got Cauliflower tacos and Añejo burger with fries. Really nice setup and authentic food with a twist. Excellent service. It is a must to visit this restaurant while in NYC. read more

The good: I had the shrimp tacos with a side of rice and black beans, great flavor and good portions. The flight of Forteleza tequila was great and so was my margarita. Chips were tasty as well and had a great spice to them. Service was great as well, friendly and helpful. Not so good: The salsas were no bueno. We ordered the four salsa's and only one of them had good flavor. One tasted like sour cream and the habanero was spicy but lacked flavor. read more

Añejo translates to vintage and the definition is high quality! That's exactly what I received. This chic, restaurant adorned with beautiful chandeliers is dimly lit creating an intimate ambiance. The waitress and waiters were very attentive, and assisted with detailing what was in each dish which made the experience easier to order as there were so many entrees to choose from on the menu. The service was quick which was appreciated. One bite into my food and I was blown away by the flavors. Perfectly seasoned. Right amount of spice. Tender and savory! Came here for restaurant week and really enjoyed the food, drinks, service, and the environment! We came at 530 which was also during their happy hours and got a delicious margarita for $8 too. Anejo was super accommodating with out walk in request for a table of 4 inside on a weekend! They went above and beyond to make our friend's birthday special. I had the margarita on the rocks, which was delicious. The guac for the table was perfection. My friend and I split the vegetarian quesadilla and the chicken tacos. Both were delicious! My only complaint is that the portions are small for how much you are paying. However, the quality is definitely worth the price tag. Overall, I definitely want to come back here! If you are looking for a more upscale Mexican dinner, this is a great spot for you. Thanks again, Anejo, for accommodating our party on such short notice! read more

Was so hungry didn't get photos, but one of the one places in NYC with GOOD Mexican food. We got the market salad (HUGE), wild mushroom quest fundido I haven't stopped thinking about, pineapple guacamole, and fish tacos. It was a lot of food for two, but wanted to eat as much as I could because it was so good. Ian and Juan were the most incredible and attentive bartenders without being overly attentive. The traviesa is my new favorite cocktail. I would eat here every day if I could. read more

Found a gem of a Mexican restaurant on our walk to our friends hotel. The Anejo caught my eye because I love my tequila . Looked Anejo up on Yelp and it was highly rated. Tried it and we were not disappointed at all. Our waitress, Julia, recommended the Chilaquilles and shrimp tacos. Well we tried them. Well they were the best!!!! The food and drinks were on point and Julia was the best! The best service we have had on our trip. The rest of restaurants we tried had good food but terrible service. Julia made it very enjoyable. Her friendliness, people skills, food recommendations and personality made it very enjoyable. Ask for Julia who works weekends. Thank you Anejo for the great good and Julia! Tribeca location is better managed. A bit overpriced. Even for the city. Had brunch with 13 people: Key issues: (1) Service was lackluster and disoriented (2) Tables were not set up correctly (3) nachos were Uber soggy (4) cheap with their bottomless liquor promotions (5) waiters are overworked (6) buss girl had a nonchalant 'when do I get off of work?" (7) limited brunch menu (8) wait time for food was incredibly long (9) Requests took too much time to fulfill Do better please. You represent our city which is hurting right now. read more

Very nice Mexican restaurant in the heart of Hell's Kitchen. The staff was definitely 5 stars! They were very kind and accommodating. They do have a time limit on seating. I do recommend going for their happy hour! They have a bunch of food and drinks on discount! Only down side is for the price the portions are very small. The guacamole was barely enough for me let alone two people. And I was crazy about their home made chips. But overall nice place. read more

Hostess refused to seat us at one of the sidewalk tables they themselves setup outdoors for lunch on a beautiful sunny fall day though it was just a couple of feet away from a fully enclosed patio (read: no ventilation) that they were serving on. The COVID pandemic is still raging and high risk people exist. It wasn't particularly busy so enjoy giving away your business to surrounding restaurants, I guess. read more

This place is cute with good service, tacos and drinks. The first time I was here I only had drinks, chips and salsa, but that was good enough for me to come back. This time I had the Mendoza and the El Cucuy, the former was better than the latter. I wish the El Cucuy had been strained a tad bit more. I also had the birria tacos and those are chef's kiss! The two top tables are VERY close together so prepare to squeeze between them. read more

We landed here a bit out of desperation, trying to escape a terrible first stop on our night out. Luckily, Anejo was much more welcoming. The Brussels Sprouts and Spanish Octopus were both delicious and well-cooked, while the various cocktail/wine offerings were on point in terms of price and quality. The manager could've been a little less...emphatic about insisting we order food with our drinks (we weren't planning to skirt the rules or anything, just forgot that was the city ordinance), but otherwise the service was pretty good. Anejo is one of those neighborhood staples that's been around ofrever--here's hoping it stays that way. read more

In the middle of #PRIDE Weekend we had THE BEST service and the food was PhENOM!! (Venom in LgBTQia speak for killer delicious!!) My bestie Amanda and I landed here prior to spending the entire night dancing our butts off to the beauty of LOVE in all ways in all places, and it could not have been a better choice. Tequila flights!! I love tequila!! I have never been tequila tasting before, and I absolutely enjoyed it. We did the tequila flights for mezcal and extra anejo. Easily my newest favorite go to brunch destination! Unlimited Chips/ Guacamole/ Salsa and brunch cocktails, your choice of entree and French toast for the table for only $47, what a steal? Had reservations for noon. Got in a little late because of some protest going on in the city and couldn't even find our Lyft. Anyways, we arrive and are asked if we want to sit right by the entrance on the elevated communal tables or if we would like to sit between two other people. The elevated table scene never appeals to me so I chose the less appealing table between two different parties. One of them looked like they were the Russians from the Russian Coats - Family Guy Season 10 Episode 21. The other two looked like they were in a polyamorous relationship and from the cast of QAF. The shrimp tacos were really filling. The chilaquiles were too spicy for me to handle. I forgot that I failed to mention to the server - who by the way was the sweetest girl ever - that I don't want any jalapenos on my order. Sigh. Came for the $55 bottomless brunch and oh boy it really fills you up. The guac comes with 4 other dips and then they bring out the French toast which were all delicious. There were only 3 options to choose from but by the time they bring out the entree you're already so full. I think it's worth the price + 4 different drink options. Service was quick and friendly! We sat at the bar for some drinks before heading to the Edge and then came back afterwards for food and more drinks. The Mendoza was great as well as the green pressed juice cocktail. To the food - 1st - they don't care how much hot sauce you want. they're making these bowls in the masses and are just giving you a single squirt so they can make 20 bowls all at the same time. I was hoping for more spice in what I ordered, but it was very slightly spicy. I'm not sure if they let you serve yourself to more, but I'd definitely want more of the hot sauce. 2nd - I didn't taste any spice in the spicy rice. I'm not sure if, again, due to the fast production that it all just taste like regular rice? but didn't see what the hype was there. 3rd - I genuinely think the white sauce is what brings it all together. The chicken was OK to me. I didn't think it was anything special, and would give it a 3 out of 5. texture was OK, flavor was OK... the lamb definitely stole the show. The lamb was absolutely flavorful and full of delicious spices. This reminded me of what I've had in Dubai. Very rich in flavor and just the perfect amount of spices. Overall, I think if you wait for your food to cool down like 20 minutes, you'll get to taste the flavors more. Everything hot together, for me, just didn't allow me to really absorb all the food. But the rice was your average rice. Pita was deliciously soft and pillowy which complemented the white sauce. Chicken was ok. had an OK texture; nothing life changing. lamb was fantastic, and fries were just fries (nothing memorable). For a NYC experience, a 1-time, 50 minute wait is acceptable. And, for $13, that's pretty cheap for the amount of food you get. I would eat it again if the line was 5 minutes. Otherwise, I'm positive you will find similar food/better food elsewhere.

The pepperoni was about an 8/10. Very good slice of pizza. Nothing noteworthy to me though and no better than other slices I had. A very good piece of pizza. The fig jam bacon was more like a 7-7.5/10. The amount of toppings was lacking. The bites that did have toppings were quite good. Better than the pepperoni. Unfortunately, there were few bites like that. This is very good pizza. It's not the best in the city. Far from it.

Pepperoni pizza was delicious. Sauce is on the tangier/more acidic side, more tomatoey. and the pepperoni was great. Slight spice to it, but not as good as L'industries. Our wait was at least an hour and a half and were texted when our table was ready. They have indoor and outdoor seating with one bathroom for all to use. I got a "pick me up" and it was perfect gave me a beautiful caffeine kick to start the day I recommend for sure. The honey butter pancakes were pretty good but kinda drenched in the butter that made it hard to finish. The korean wings were also alright but the batter to me was kinda thick and heavy and lacked crispiness. The best item we ordered was the breakfast sandwich with hashbrown, scrambled eggs, and sausage. I think the eggs are cooked with cheese, and as someone who typically does not eat cheese, I didn't mind it. I don't know if I'll be back again - I think the concept of an asian twist on the classic diner does sound intriguing but difficult to execute. I also wasn't a big fan of the wait time. If you typically like heavier, diner food then this spot might be the place for you!

I thought the mala levels were just right, but it may be on a bit on the lighter side compared to authentic. The lamb spine came in a delicious broth, but it was a bit hard eating the lamb from the bone for not a lot of meat. The house steamed fish was also amazing. They don't take online reservations for groups over 5, so we called to make one for our group of 6. It was pretty busy Friday night, so would recommend. The service was great; they drew the cutest card when they found out it was my brother's birthday and let us bring a cake. And they also offered hair ties to the people with long hair. You order through an iPad which has a beautiful menu.

It's one of the larger stalls in the market and has some seating, but not enough, and the market seating is very limited as well. I ordered the hibiscus lemonade and the very spicy Dan Dan Mian. I loved watching the staff prepare the noodles while waiting. My bowl was huge and absolutely delicious. It was very spicy as promised, but not too spicy that it was rendered not enjoyable. I looked at other orders and everything looked delicious, leading to only semi-regret of my choice. My lemonade was very good. I'm very much looking forward to returning.

opened 3 nights ago. not an empty seat in the place. really great atmosphere and decor -- except for all the hipster douche-bags posing for pics in sunglasses around the bar and the windows as they busily tweet (twat?), facebook, text, blog and generally dissociate from the over all lack of speed and service....lucky for them! here's the 4-1-1 (or should it be the 9-1-1? at least then, you'd get some kind of a response within minutes!) drinks: the bar, a bunch tequila, big deal. who doesn't have a bottle of something good at home in this 'hood. DANA, lovely gal, took my drink order. it's a fucking margarita for the love of tacos....3 or 4 ingredients, hell, at my place, they make themselves! 15 minutes later...she explains "we're all about mixology....drinks run 5 minutes each...." SERIOUSLY? get the hell out of my neighborhood! i know, you're new. and obviously she hasn't tended bar before. BUT don't freakin' say drinks take 5 minutes to make EACH and then make me wait 20....what, did you have 4 drinks in line ahead of me? food: sitting at the bar. because the hipsters have all the seats holding up their coats. that's fine. i got there at 6:45pm. on the 3rd night. who'd think it would be so freakin' busy? the menu is limited. and by limited i mean $20 guacamole or tacos for $10....I opt for the tacos. chicken. no choice of hard taco or soft. fine, surprise me. i LOVE mexican. REAL MEXICAN. none of that fusion crap. Ignore Rosa Mexicana, i pay for food, not a show. that's why i get theater tickets. On the plus side, the food came about the same time as the drink. in fact i was done with food right after the first sip of my drink. back to the food. 2 tacos. $10. they about 4 inches across. they had some queso fresco and some shredded chicken and some of that southwestern chipotle chile sauce that is so trendy at SUBWAY lately....there was nothing on the plate. sorry, menu doesn't TAPAS, it does say Tequileria. I get that it's about the alcohol there. obviously food is an afterthought. for food that you order when it's convenient because you're drunk and won't miss the cash from your wallet, i suppose it's a great hot spot. for real food, i.e. "let's go out to dinner as group for your birthday" - NO FUCKING WAY! you 'd be out of your mind to waste you time or your hard earned money being seen here waiting for food. in fact, the food was excellent and the drink (or is that mixed-up-ology cocktail?) was acceptable, but the proof of a pudding is in the eating let's face it, the pudding here was lacking....lacking portion, lacking timing, lacking value, lacking (oh wait, no, here there was plenty!) douche-baggery! BEST ADVICE YOU CAN GET: go here for a drink (at $10 for a small cheap house tequila margarita) before dinner and then go elsewhere for food. RECOMMENDED: WEST SIDE STEAKHOUSE on 43rd and 10th Ave. at least you'll be filled up and you won't be crowded and you'll leave happy and feeling like you had a good dinner with nice service. Well, let me start by saying that if i could give 0 stars i would. I did not have a chance to experience the restaurant entirely but let me highlight the reasons for my review. I made a reservation, show up 2 min before my booked time (to be correct), the restaurant was half empty with a very weird configuration of seated guests, tables of two tops very tightly close to each other with an empty table in between so it would not be distinctively uncomfortable, good job hostess This said, i checked in and the hostess informed me that she could accommodate my party at some bar high stools by the window with a very tinny and narrow place where we were supposed to eat. She gave me some additional option highlighting that the bar stools was my best option because the long communal table was already kind of not comfortable, the empty tables between the two tops all around the dining room was super awkward to dine and i asked to seat on a high table, she said we keep those tables for big parties. Excuse me? First of all you dont have a proper table for a customer who booked your table through your online service! In that case you should close your online reservation as say you cannot accomodate anymore guest (thanks to the nice seating which was already in place). Small tip to management and tip to the owners if anyone read reviews: Keep an extra eye to the staff and how the operate the service in the dining room, rejecting guests and clearly not caring to do their job properly while seeing that my party was clearly uncomfortable and stood up an left, your staff chills and hugs eachother telling their daily stories. If i make a reservation i make a commitment as a customer to come, spend time and money at your restaurant and have a nice experience, i pay for my transportation and other expenses which are not taken in consideration by the restaurant. read more

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Añejo on 10th Avenue, and my experience was nothing short of fantastic. This Mexican gem truly exceeded my expectations in every aspect. We kicked off our meal with the Guacamole and Salsa combo as an appetizer, and it set the tone for the entire culinary journey. The guacamole was perfect, and the assortment of salsas was nothing short of amazing. Each one brought a unique burst of flavors, adding a delightful kick to our starters. The menu offered an enticing array of options, and we couldn't resist trying a variety of dishes. The Crispy Fish had a delightful crunch, and the freshness of the ingredients was evident. The Beef Birria and Pork Carnitas were also flavorful and perfectly seasoned. The attention to detail in every dish was evident, and it's clear that Añejo is passionate about its craft. Looking for a safe place to dine this is the spot!!! Outside dining has plexiglass partitions and indoors is very well spaced and all safety protocols are being followed! The food is amazing!! Personal favorites are the pork belly tostada and carne asada. But as good as the food is the drinks are even better blanco margaritas are not too sweet with a perfect balance of lime and they defiantly don't hold back on the tequila. My personal favorite is the mezcal margarita!! The staff at anejo Hell's Kitchen is just something extra special! They are super attentive and are great with making recommendations on what types of tequila or mezcal to sip. Next time you are looking to dine in the city this is the spot! You will feel safe and you will enjoy the whole experience from beginning to end. I would also recommend making a reservation it assures that you won't have to wait for a table!! Enjoy! read more

I have been here a number of times, and live in the neighborhood. I cannot emphasize enough how OBNOXIOUS and POORLY RUN this place is. I keep trying it (I know -- my own fault), and I keep regretting it. The food is okay, nothing to get excited about. But the service is worse than bad -- it's contemptuous. I've had appetizers forgotten, entire rounds of drinks ignored, waiters walk away from us, etc. For the price of the place, the staff should be at least a little accommodating. With Tenth Avenue in Hell's Kitchen really starting to hum, this place will soon be a casualty of superior choices. Really, I have to say: the place is run by jerks. I'm not going back. read more

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the area. Always fun but not rowdy, this place is usually pretty full with people in their mid to late 30s, many from the neighborhood. It doesn't seem to attract tourists despite its location. It has an extensive collection of tequilas and the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable when you ask for tequila advice. Very mixed crowd in terms of age, race, orientation, all of which makes for a good experience. It's never scene-y or pretentious. The tequila flan is amazing and the drink called The Mexican Firing Squad is my new favorite drink. It's strong, a little spicy, and delicious. read more

Anejo on 10th Avenue in NYC offers a solid Mexican dining experience. The carnitas and beef tacos are delicious, though a bit more variety in sauces would be nice. The tuna ceviche is also a standout. The mezcal margaritas are tasty but served in small glasses. For dessert, the serving of 5-inch churros comes with three sweet sauces and is good, though a bit too crunchy/hard. The atmosphere is cozy with good long table seating and not noisy. Service was friendly and attentive, even warning us when we were about to order too much. Overall, Anejo is a great spot for good food and a pleasant dining experience. read more

Love coming to this Anejo! Great drinks with an astounding tequila selection (hence the name?:) The Guacamole Trio is tasty I recommend getting it! The fish and chicken tacos are flavorful and plenty of food! The ceviche is fresh and consistently good. Three words: SHORT RIB TACOS! Went there once with my boss at the time. Thank goodness he was paying. They work "tapas-style" here, which roughly translates to everything being a la carte, and overpriced. It was also just not a comfortable atmosphere. I left hungry and disappointed. The irony was that I suggested this place since I had walked by it so many times after work. I went to Anejo a few days ago. Liked the drinks, had good tequilas, amazing margaritas. The dishes were very good, especially the ceviche. If you want a place to have a full dinner, I would recommend somewhere else since the dishes are small. But if you are looking for a nice fun place for drinks and appetizers, it's great! read more
