    happy hour guacamole

we sat at the bar and the service was very quick. it's a chill place and they have good, quick bites. wasn't the best mexican food i've had, but definitely hit the spot after some happy hour drinks

Came for Brunch Unlimited drinks + entree around $52 and they were good about making sure we always had a drink coming. I loved my torta de pollo!! So filling and full of flavor!! My friend demolished his huevos rancheros so I'm guessing he also loved his dish. Guacamole was so fresh and tasty, great starter. Bloody Mary was delish, margaritas were good! Friendly staff. Cute inside but nothing spectacular. Just a good spot to come eat and chill.

Yum! Fonda just never disappoints. Ever. Happy hour is every day (and it's from 4- close on Sunday!! Don't trust what it says online)... it has great food on the HH menu too! I ordered dessert for the first time, the tres leches, and it was very good but not amazing. This is one of my favorite go-to places.

    Taquitos al pastor - delicioso!

Came here for light dinner after a local event. The bartender suggested taquitos al pastor, which is pork with pineapple filling. It was super delicious, and their green sauce was tasty with just right spice! Service excellent, so attentive and friendly. Cool ambiance with dim lighting, techno pop music, casual and comfy! Def want to return here!

Came here for brunch and the food was solid. Started with the guacamole then I got the chilaquiles with scrambled eggs while my husband got the burrito Texaco - we shared sides of white rice and black beans. With the brunch entrees at $15.95, I found the place to be pretty reasonable. Guacamole was fine; my husband liked the hot sauce it came with better. The chips were a tad too salty. My chilaquiles were good but I am not sure a human should be eating that many fried tortilla chips in one sitting so will probably order something else next time. I wasn't a huge fan of the green sauce with my husband's entree (had a sour tangy after taste to me) but he liked it and I otherwise liked the burrito. Re service, they were great about constantly refilling our waters. They did forget about our rice and beans but not a huge deal - they brought them out shortly after we asked about them. We walked in on a summer Sunday around 12 and there was plenty of seating available (though it is small inside). They had a few outdoor tables as well. Loved that they accepted Apple Pay. Will definitely return to try the dinner menu!

Different location but the food was so good I had to rave about it! The rich flavor on the soup that brought together the mixture of greens and appropriate amount of corn. If you like the soups to be extremely hot I would suggest them to heat it at a longer temperature than usual. The waitress was so kind and even when my sister was being silly and dropped one of her flautas had no problem bringing us out another. She was also knowledgeable on the drinks menu which was helpful, great recommendations! The environment was nice they had piñatas as decorations which I found pretty cool.

Fonda serves up a great menu of contemporary Mexican cuisine. I went here with some colleagues and enjoyed a lovely meal. The pan-seared salmon was served with a sweet potato mash surrounded by a tasty moat of mole sauce. It may or may not have been the special that evening. I can't remember. But the yumminess of the meal was not to be forgotten. Nor was the friendly service or the colorful Mexican art adorning the red walls.

I wish I could give this place 6 stars!!!Outstanding food. I cannot recommend the camarones mosquito dish more. Creamy, spicy, delicious. There is an upstairs so if you need something wheelchair accessible make sure to mention that when you make a reservation (no elevator that I noticed) One item I would not recommend is the hibiscus margarita (odd presentation and not very refreshing)

Super cute restaurant with great drinks and even better food! Small so I definitely recommend reservations. Pricey but worth it, nice portions and amazing tastes.

Delicious food, nicely presented. Great service. Music is just a touch loud for a romantic dinner but maybe I could have asked them to turn it down (I didn't try). A touch on the pricey side but not terrible! One of my new favorites in the area.

Came here for a late night bite with a friend. We ended up being able to catch the tail end of their happy hour which included some food and drink options. I ordered the nachos but without meat. I believe they subbed the meat for mushroom which was super yummy. I love nachos so I really appreciated how flavorful each topping was. From the beans to the sauces. Bartender was also super kind. Will be back!

My burrito was super good! And the waitress was nice! Enjoyed this place and I want to try more of their dishes for brunch!

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

It somehow manages to feel both refined and relaxed at the same time. The kind of place where you half expect to spot Hemingway in the corner pretending not to eavesdrop. We started with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh, briny, and exactly what you want with serious cocktails. Crisp, clean, gone in about three minutes. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. It felt like a cocktail designed to be savored slowly. The music fit the mood perfectly, not too loud, just enough to give the room energy without killing conversation. Overall, it's a great spot if you want elevated drinks in a space that feels transportive without being pretentious. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm in the mood for a refined, slightly cinematic night out in Flatiron.

We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back, especially for the mushroom burger.
