After many years of driving past this place on the way to Del Amo Mall growing up, I FINALLY checked it out recently! Thankfully, I was able to find parallel parking right in front of this restaurant. Off to a great start! Honestly, I kind of expected a little MORE variety for the amount they charge. They randomly have a small barrel jug of tomato soup, and an area just for their naan bread, which is cool; BUT their naan bread is kind of different from the traditional ones that usually have chopped up garlic and coriander on it. Angara's naan bread doesn't have any of that on their naan; which was disappointing. I ended up trying their Tikka Masala, grilled chicken, mixed rice, etc.. Usually in other spots, I get other stuff like samosas, potatoes, and other cool different creative stuff to choose from. Angara has pretty much your basic, standard choices. I was like mehhh. Ate their food and it was just OK. Not bad, just ok. I mean I dig that it doesn't taste too salty, but I wanted more taste. The lady who served us was really nice and I loved her great customer service. Their fried vegetables weren't bad, along with their DIY desserts filled with fruit choices and mango puree. I ordered Lamb Biryani and butter chicken and garlic naan ! The lamb biryani I got it level 3 spicy And the butter chicken I got level 7 spicy! Don't order the curry too spicy (unless you are ready to sweat) so you could enjoy your garlic naan ! I order 3 batches of the naan it goes really well with the delicious curry sauce The lamb biryani was really good as well and the portion was enough for 3 people for sure I almost forgot I even ordered the garlic Parmesan fries for starters which was really good especially if you like garlic Shout out Joy ! My wife and I come to Angara pretty much every week for our dinner date the food is just that good. The flavors are always on point, and you can tell everything is made fresh. We've tried a bunch of dishes, and honestly haven't had a bad one yet. The service is always excellent. I often drive on Torrance Blvd. and see this restaurant. I love Indian food and have been wanting to find a local place that I can frequent whenever my cravings for Indian food kick in. Like today. Randomly came across this place because of our craving for tikka masala and we were surprised by the buffet they have for lunch. For around $14.99 between 11am to 2:30pm they layout a good amount of their menu items for the buffet. I haven't tried enough Indian food to say much but everything here tasted so good. The chicken tikka masala was creamy and flavorful. The saag paneer was on par with the tikka masala with the flavor but it had a much different taste. Then to add some texture there was also vegetable pakora, the crunch pieced everything so well. Not to mention their fresh naan they gave out as well. I tried the chicken tandoori as well and it seemed like with all this food that it wouldn't taste as good mixed but not with this. We had to change venues for our daughter's second birthday party in less than a week's time. In that time, Joy, was able to support us and really put together a last minute spot for her. Although it was not what I was really driving towards or what I wanted, I appreciated how much they were able to help in such a short span of time. That really meant a lot - especially because this was our first birthday celebration for her. The guests enjoyed the appetizers, entrees and desserts. The samosas were very delicious! Everyone seemed to enjoy the food so that was a win for us. Sometimes, it is more about customer service and someone just listening to you rather than thinking they are doing you a favor. To avoid getting scammed and overcharged, I strongly recommend staying away from this restaurant. It provided the worst service we've ever experienced. They not only got our order wrong but also charged us multiple times for the same item, even though it was part of the combo. They refused to admit their mistake, which leads us to believe they did it intentionally. While the food was good, the overall experience left a bad aftertaste. We will never come back again. P.S.
