Then my first physical impression of Gerry and his son upon their arrival was their stature. Big strong dudes--which meant I knew they wouldn't have a problem moving the single piece of furniture we had on the floor of the home we just purchased. (They happily did it.) But it was immediately obvious how kind, polite and gentle they were. For example, Gerry's son asked my permission before filling a small tank with water; he does not assume what a home owner is ok or not ok with. I was nearby during the job, so Gerry took the liberty of proactively pointing things out to me and offering suggestions for ways I could keep my floors looking good myself, as he noticed based on what I was doing while he was working that was I am the DYI type. No cost advice, and enjoyable conversation! The job was completely in a timely manner, and my floor (four different surface types!) looks and feels terrific. Just had a very disappointing experience trying to get a bid. I reached out to Preferred after receiving what I thought was a high bid from another company. I was thrilled when he said he could come by same day. He said it would be between 4 and 430. We had a third company coming a little before 5 today to give us another quote so it would have been perfect timing. Preferred texted me at 430 that he would not be here until almost 5 PM. This ran in to the time of the other contractor was here. I politely texted him to let him know that we had someone else we were meeting with and to please hang out for 5 minutes while we wrapped up. In the ensuing conversation I was called rude and disrepectful and he lambasted accusations against me in statements that began "people like you..." etc etc. Long story short was he was 25 mins outside of the time frame we had originally agreed upon over the phone. It is not my fault he showed up at that time. Funniest part of it is he was one of the lowers quotes over the phone and had he just had a smaller ego and less of a chip on his shoulder he very well could have made the sale today and made a repeat customer for many years to come.

She explained everything that needed to be done and why. Based on her obvious expertise and thoroughness, we decided on the spot to have the work done ASAP by Grout Medic. The price quoted seemed fair, and the proposal explained all work to be done in detail. About a week later a gent named Leo from Grout Medic showed up on time to do the work. Leo was polite and considerate, and took pains to protect our new wood flooring downstairs and carpeting upstairs. Leo explained how he would proceed, and took about 4 hours working straight through. Bottom line is that we are very happy with the work. Our shower/toilet room looks like new! The tile shines, grout looks great, and the natural stone floor looks so nice. And a sealer was applied to the grout and stone floor to protect. As very satisfied customers, we highly recommend The Grout Medic!
