Third time is not a charm. We originally tried for the first time a year ago. The food was meh. We tried it again this summer and felt like it had improved but were so exhausted from driving in, we didn't know if it was better or if we were super hungry. Last night we ordered a pizza, salad and dip. All items were just bad. The pizza looked and tasted like it had been made hours ago. The dip was super watery and quickly microwaved. I was in town for work and because of the fires this was one of the few places that were still open. We came in one night and found that not only were they open, they were providing free food to fire crews and support staff. In my mind this would get them a good review alone. However, added bonus the food is very good. On the first night we got wings and 2 pizzas- all were delicious. We got the T-Rex and the smokehouse. I am not normally a fan of thin crust pizza but the flavors were excellent. The wings were hot and good as well. On other visits they set up a buffet but also allowed people to order off a limited menu. Not wanting to be a trouble we opted for the buffet each time. It consisted of salad, a couple different pastas, a bread option, and extra bonus homemade cookies by the owner, which were excellent. We opted to put some money in the tip pitcher each night as a thank you, and you should too- they took very good care of us. We've eaten here a couple of times, and feel like it's a solid go-to spot for meals Tuesday-Saturday (closed Sunday-Monday). It's located in the Lowe's grocery store shopping center, and found up the stairs. They have indoor and outdoor (with heaters) dining, and a full bar with happy hour. The salads are crave worthy: fresh and large, nice vinaigrette. So nice to have some fresh options here in Angel Fire (hard to find). Artichoke dip is gooey, hot and very comforting. We loved it, and only would have liked the pizza triangles to be cooked slightly more (less bread, more cracker like) to dip up bigger servings. Pizza is pretty good, not giant or loaded with ingredients, but tasty! Spaghetti and meatballs were also pretty good. Owner is quite nice and checks on patrons when he's there. The service could be improved a bit; they are surely leaving money on the table by not checking on wine/beer beverages more often. Quick hellos and smiles (indicating they see you) would also go a long way, even when wait staff is tired and overworked during peak hours. That one welcoming courtesy would increase customer experience -- and tips dramatically. We will definitely go back, and take the small faults in stride. We have always been able to get a table inside, and the place is filled with happy people enjoying the food, and usually a line of others picking up hot pizzas. Small unassuming pizza joint in the heart of Angel Fire. Stopped in for a late lunch and they were so busy! The service was friendly and your drinks are always full. They have daily food and drink specials but we ordered off the menu. I completely forgot to take pictures because the caprese pizza looked and smelled so delicious I dove right in. Amazing mozzarella and the balsamic glaze was sweet and the perfect compliment to the acidic tomatoes. Mom had the philly sandwich which was a little light on the meat, but it had good flavor. Kiddos and cheese pizza and Hawaiian pizza that they devoured without a peep. Check out this place the next time you're in town. You won't be disappointed!!! read more

Ordered Cheese Pizza, Fried Ravioli, and the spinach dip to go. I'm an optimist, and read the reviews, but wanted to believe others were too harsh in their assessment. They were not. The pizza is very uninspiring. If they are using a wood fired oven, it isn't working right. The dough looked pre-made/packaged. Cheese and sauce were bland. Increased to 2 stars because the dip and the ravioli were decent, but the place has "pizza" in the name. It should be the star. read more

Back again after 5 years and the thin crust pizza was great as usual. had the pepperoni, sausage and Canadian Bacon. Service was very attentive. I left the ski area to eat here for lunch versus the overpriced/low quality fare you find at ski resorts. The positive: The place is clean and open at 8pm! They close at 9pm, bathroom is gender neutral and clean. It's located in the second floor of a shopping mall. It's kinds friendly, they have stuff for the kids to paint and play. My nephew love dinosaurs and they have a full set for the kids to play. They have a fairly good wine and beer list with prices around $4 per bottle of beer and wine glasses ranging $5 to $8. They have dine in deals (see photo). They have inside and outdoor seating including bar seating. The pizzas were tasty and fresh, they had a fairly good selection. The not so good: food was ok, which to be honest for the a tourist town may be above average, specially the sandwich and pasta. They included the 18% gratuity (for a group of 5 plus a kid). I don't think it's bad since I usually leave the 20%, but we didn't know until the bill was brought. I am glad we read it. Otherwise it will be a 38% tip The verdict: it's recommended for the pizzas! And It opens until late, so it's a good option for that. read more

Our party of 6 went here last night. The waitress seemingly forgot to put our order in (another waitress couldn't find it and the cook held up his hands like, "I don't know" when we asked on the status of our order). When we asked our waitress how much longer until we receive at least our appetizers (two other tables had received food who had arrived after us), she yelled at us that we had only been waiting 10 minutes (it had been over 30 minutes and it was not that busy). Then she said we were hangry. Magically, we received our appetizers about ten minutes after the scene she caused. We got our pizza about an hour and a half after we arrived. The waitress added gratuity to our checks, even though our party was only 6 people. As we were leaving, she commented, "all better now that you're not hangry?" Very rude and manipulative. We are giving this place five stars mostly for the great service provided by Casey~ granted, it was NOT busy at 3:45pm on a Sunday, but she was very attentive and courteous and we never had to ask for anything. It was Happy Hour, so we ordered the half-price breadsticks as an appetizer. So glad we did, they are AMAZING!!! Warm, fluffy, and they melt in your mouth!!! Seriously!!! For all you Olive Garden lovers: these are better!!! Dip them in the garlic butter sauce, you won't be sorry We each ordered an 8" pizza: I had the Tuscan, my boyfriend had the New Mexican. Both were tasty~ not a huge fan of the crust, but the toppings were good and each had just the right amount of cheese. We'll be back again before our vacation is over!!! Unfortunately, previous reviews that mention a condescending, rude waitress are true (there is only one waitress). The food could be considered good, but the pizzas were served cold. There was a review that mentioned buying a frozen pizza. That is what we should have done. We did not leave a tip for the waitress. For our group of 5, that's $25 that she could have pocketed. We've never done that before, but soon after being seated, we knew that we were not likely to leave a tip. She had a kinder tone when she left the check for us to pay. Get here early for dinner; it's a small location and fills up quickly. Despite that, our service was fairly quick. This is the place to be in Angelfire. Over the 4th of July week, this place was packed. Considering it's a ski resort town and the patrons are all out-of-town tourists, I thought the service was pretty good. Was the pizza the best I've ever had - no, but it was good. Head to head battle: Pizza Stop vs Angel Fired Pizza A panel of myself and 5 friends (all from Texas) have just performed an exhaustive side-by-side pizza comparison of Pizza Stop and Angel Fired Pizza. We ordered a large Canadian bacon, pineapple, and jalapeño pizza at each restaurant. Below will be the review for each restaurant. TLDR: Go to Pizza Stop, it's way better. Angel Fired Pizza Quality/taste- The sauce was very flavorful, the crust was a bit bland, the toppings were unevenly spread, and the cheese was decent. It was compared (negatively) to Cici's and Red Baron. Price- $19.13 for a large 3-topping pizza. Lower than Pizza Stop by $4. Location- Not very walkable from the resort area, but has a large parking lot, so parking is not an issue. Customer service- The staff were very friendly, although they did seem a bit preoccupied, despite the fact that the restaurant was less than half full. They were very helpful in offering Parmesan and red pepper flakes. Ambiance- Very cool second floor restaurant with a nice outside patio. Well lit, clean, and very welcoming. However, there are some weird paintings on the wall. I guess if you like art you may be interested. Additional comments- Really enjoyed the restaurant name being a pun. Conclusion: If you are looking to choose a pizza place not based on pizza, go here. If you want good pizza, go to Pizza Stop instead. Pizza Stop Quality/taste- Everything about this pizza tasted fresh and delicious. Ingredients were great, crust was nice and thick on the edges. So much flavor. Price- $23.95 for a large 3-topping pizza. Higher than Angel Fired Pizza by $4 but worth it. Location- In short walking distance from resort area. Limited parking directly out front at peak hours. Customer service- Extremely friendly and welcoming. They make you feel right at home here. Even threw in some extra garlic bread with our order! Small place near the local grocery in Angel Fire. Trod upstairs after a day on the ski run for a cozy little hole in the wall. Very friendly host informed there would be a 45 min wait, but a nearby sporting goods kept us occupied. Brightly painted walls are adorned with interesting art done by the owner, and a cute little bar you can belly up to or order to go. I ordered the gluten free tomato and basil pizza, and it was quite crispy(I was pleased). Our family ordered the pepperoni and vegetarian and the crust looked amazing, they each noddingly said it was delicious. My pizza lacked much tomato sauce, so I asked for a ramekin of sauce to dip. Awesome! The pizza is so freaking good. The people that run the place are cool, funny, and are not robots. They work hard so respect that and you will have a good experience. If you are the kind of person that is demanding, expects the world to revolve around you, and gets frustrated with little things like having to wait for a table when you didn't plan ahead, or having to wait for your food when the place is super busy, then you will not fit in anywhere in Angel Fire and for that matter New Mexico. It's the land of manana and we like it that way. They are close to the slopes so it gets busy, and be thoughtul about getting there as early as you can. The pizza is great. Service was slow due to being understaffed that night. That staff were very friendly and apologized for the wait which was appreciated. The salad, bread sticks, and dipping sauce were excellent! We drove to Angel Fire for a short holiday break, decided to get some take out pizza on Tuesday night. The shop was great taking our order over the phone and bringing our pizzas right to our car when they were done. The 8" size is perfect for groups with particular eaters. I got the Tuscan and my son the New Mexican. Both were AMAZING!! The feta and goat cheeses gave the pies a distinctive flavor. Highly recommended. The real issue- none of the workers in the kitchen had Covid-19 masks, or gloves, on...and the young lady running the register wasn't wearing gloves or a mask and handling cards and cash, then went into the kitchen and helped box and wrap food.
