I am a super breakfast going guy. I know I have been on lockdown for 7 weeks now. Only my own cooking skills to get me through. I really don't like writing negative reviews but this place merits it this time. Only the second time we've ever been here and I don't see any improvement from the first. There is nothing clear about how you are seated, so we just kind of wandered around for a minute looking confused until another customer told us to sign in. The two people up front seemed listless and apathetic. Bored really. Once we were seated, we were helped quickly, however the waitress was taking the menu out of my husbands hand before he could even order! My order consisted of a cup of raisin oatmeal, fruit bowl and an order of bacon. I got a bowl of plain oatmeal, two slices of bacon (which was correct), and a bowl of fruit that had huge chunks. Not sure why they didn't cut it up into more bite-sized pieces. I know, sounds like I'm getting petty but everything starts stacking up once you're frustrated. And finally, the place has a bad odor. I remember it from the first time we were here. And instead of the employees upfront doing nothing, the entryway could use a little bit of attention as well as the floors. Bottom line, there is no reason for me to want to return. There are better restaurants in Dallas that take time and consideration when preparing & delivering your food. read more

This isn't a fancy place, but it's clean and serves a great breakfast for a fair price. The Mexican choices are outstanding and I lived in San Antonio for more than 30 years. One big surprise was the fresh pressed juice. So rich and flavorful. It isn't a place to bring people who are impressed with appearances, but like mama said "looks ain't nearly as important as values". I'll be coming back whenever I'm in town. read more

What a great surprise around the corner from the Love Field. Tucked in the back of a strip mall, Angela's offers a perfect breakfast/brunch menu option at very reasonable prices (and very health portions). Our service was fast and friendly (plus they kept Diet Coke refills coming) :) The wait time may seem like it will be long, but moves quickly. TIP: Parking can get a bit tough. Both times I have been there I just elected to park further down either next to the Urgent Care or even the side street close by. read more

Angela's cafe is a quaint little brunch spot located on Inwood . One Sunday day, like most other dallas residents, I got brunch. The restaraunt of the week: Angela Cafe. This week all i was craving was some good ole eggs so i got the Huevos Rancheros. In one word: lacking. The eggs were nicely made in terms of texture but the flavor lacked deeply. Eggs didn't taste salted and the green sauce tasted quite watered down and without much spice. Not my favorite plate of eggs As far as the hash browns, they tasted like they were made straight out of freezer without much added flavor/spice etc Overall the meal was a bit of a disappointment. In terms of price, it wasn't the worst at about $8-9 but the meal wont knock you off your toes. Maybe it was just a bad dish. I might try this restaurant again. My mom had originally told me she didn't care for this place during pregnancy but we all know it's a wild mind we have while a baby is inside of us haha. Me and the ladies went again today. Seating is open! The front host directed us to the side that was available for dining and we found our own table. I did have to have one of the waiters come back and wipe it down twice. My sister loves hot chocolate and loves when we do stuff associated together, so you'll likely more often hear me rave about places with bomb hot chocolate and this one.... was good! They do use a powder and I swirled for a bit to get them completely dissolved but house whipped cream boosted the hot chocolate. We both drank our cups empty! Mom and I shared a chicken fried steak (cfs) with double mashed potatoes and BROWN gravy! Everything is great without the gravy. The steak is battered evenly and fried lightly so the crust isn't flaking everywhere and it's also not scattered all over the plate! The potatoes have a soft mash-whip factor. But the real pride and joy is the brown gravy. It's definitely drink-out-of-a-boot worthy! I doused the 'taters and cfs in all of that glory and goodness and doused more on parts of the steak and potatoes that didn't have a gravy pool in site! Everything had been rushed, fries underdone, cheese not melted on grilled cheese and the quality of the food seems to have gone down. Sadly...poor dining experience. I didn't feel like a guest. Seating was confusing. Unsure about "signing in". Observed a server delivering meals to a nearby table .. plates were all stacked on top of each other. Can't possibly be good for presentation. One member in our brunch party, her omelette and hash browns were lukewarm at best. Our dining area looked more like an employee break room. The front table was used for wrapping silver ... we saw two workers sit with their bowls.. eat and leave them on the table. Dinner checks were being counted and sorted at the same table. Servers were reaching across the table instead of walking around to the guest. That's a basic hospitality foul. Bathroom area used for storage. Clutter everywhere. I couldn't make out the check. It was not itemized so we had to figure out how much we owed each other.. frustrating! WORST PART A guy starts mopping the floor all around us with the STRONG fumes of cleaner as my brother in law was trying to finish his pancakes. WHY WAS HE MOPPING AND GUESTS WERE STILL EATING. I was praying my 93 year old mother didn't have to go to the bathroom. She could have slipped. Then we're we're told "we closed at 2 because it's Easter... We were told at 2 they were closing at 2. Great variety on the menu with a flexibility off menu items to make me feel at home. My best friend and I took advantage of the breakfast special. This consist of two pancakes, two eggs, hash browns and two pieces of bacon for $6.10 after 10am. Cheaper before 10. We were stuffed as this was a lot of food for the price. I've become pretty jaded from breakfast establishments. Bland and dry biscuits, pancakes that taste from a box.. in general, food that feels like you can make at home for less cost and wait. BUT... Angela's subverted all those expectations, and I'm so happy it's only 3 minutes away from where I live! I got the American omelette. It sounded like a Denver omelette, except with more veggies so I was game! It came with either toast or biscuits -- I chose biscuits and I'm honestly surprised anyone would choose toast over biscuits?! Are there people out there who hate biscuits? The horror. But seriously if there are, they should run down to Angela's because these were amazing. Homemade taste, flakey, and not too dense. The omelette was massive with cheese generously melted on top. The hashbrowns were no afterthought either. Seasoned perfectly with a nice crispy crust. To top it off I got a glass of fresh-squeezed OJ, because a meal like this served with that Minute Maid chemical concoction would be such a disservice to mankind. Do it, you won't regret it. All in all, I give 5 starts for amazing food, and service that was fast and polite. There is plenty of seating and a generous menu spanning from massive omelettes, French toast, to fresh juice. You can find your classic breakfast favorites, indulge in heart-attack greasy diner creations, order sandwiches, or just grab some pastries-- do it all at this neighborhood joint! Their oatmeal is cooked to creamy perfection and comes with a cup of milk and a dish of brown sugar. Delish, thick, and a good-sized portion. I needed a good breakfast place close to the airport since I had an early, morning flight, and this place hit the spot. Ambiance - Located in a somewhat obscure shopping center, it was the place around that was open so early. Service - Despite being so early, the service was very friendly and the food came out quickly. Food: - Breakfast burrito - So good! It was freshly made and well put together with the right proportion of items. I could barely even finish it, but I tried my hardest. I love Angelina's Cafe! It's been my "go to" favorite eatery whenever I'm nearby Love Field. It's on the backside of the building that faces Lovers Lane, so be careful not to miss the turn. They serve family style food on the menu with many daily specials, and everything here is good. They have the best Rueben sandwich and Cole Slaw in Texas, IMO. Finally i approached the cashier and asked. She told me that the person standing at her counter would seat me. He had been there the whole time, never spoke nor acknowledged my presence at all. Having overheard my conversation with the cashier, he picked up a menu and took off. We were seated in about 5 mins and our waitress took our drink orders. She was back promptly to take our orders but we didn't see her but 1 more time when she brought the check. Waffle combo, window special and pigs in a blanket. The food was good but nothing that stood out. The restaurant looked a little worn out for the building it is in. The prices were so great, and the food met and even exceeded my expectations. Don't come here expecting some Uptown-level type brunch, no this place is a definite diner, efficient and effective with straightforward food. I thoroughly enjoyed my French toast and potatoes. The potatoes were so nice and soft but also had nice crunchy edges that truly made me happy. I particularly like the Migas with egg, chorizo, tomatoes, onion, and crispy tortilla strips, served with refried beans or delicious hash browns. There is much to choose from and daily specials. Breakfast is served all day. Their coffee is very good and they keep it coming.
