So this was my first time at Angela's after my fiancé has been raving about it. As soon as we walked in, the waiter greeted us and showed us a booth. He was quick with his service and bringing us our drinks. And when I say quick, I don't think that word is actually the right word it was lightning fast. He seemed to know most of the guests that walked in the door and many of them by names so obviously they were regulars. He was extremely attentive and I wish I had gotten his name. he knew the menu very well and was able to answer any and every question. Coffee was good and hot and my cup stayed full. My only complaint is that I ordered a pecan waffle and the pecans were not actually in the batter but just put on top. After we had eaten, I decided I wanted to get a coffee to go from Xica Cafe, which is a small coffee spot inside Angela. I chose the Mexican mocha, which was fabulous! Overall, a fun café vibe with a great staff.

Great location off of lovers lane. The food is always fresh and hot and very well priced. The quantity is enormous for the price and it's always fresh tasting. I would recommend this location

Looks like a local spot. Affordable. A little slow but when we were there, there was only one server and she was really nice. Our food was PIPING hot when we got it. The queso was really good. My omelette was gigantic. The iced tea was delish. I could only finish half of my food. Very generous serving sizes. The ambiance was a small hometown cafe vibe. Slightly Hispanic feel. I will definitely be going back when I'm need the airport or picking someone up who's hungry. The total bill was like $28.

Nothing better than a neighborhood diner with fancy drinks!

Angela's Cafe is the very best neighborhood diner and their fancy drinks, like this cappuccino, are just the icing on the cake!

I love Angela's Cafe for its warm, welcoming vibe and generous portions. Whether I'm in the mood for a hearty breakfast or comforting Tex-Mex, it always hits the spot. The staff is friendly, and it feels like a place where you're treated like family.

Breakfast at Angela's couldn't be any better. The service was great and welcoming as soon as we arrived. I had tried Angela's before years ago but never got around to making a review about it. The food was delicious and cook to perfection. Their biscuits and pancakes are really good. The place itself gets pretty busy, so make sure you get there early on the weekends. There menus has many options to choose from, Breakfast, Lunch etc..The ambiance is great and relaxing, it's whatever you want to make of it. I will definitely be coming back more often.

I went to pick up a salad for a friend for lunch. The website had the price. When I went to pick it up, I was told a different price. Decided not to get it because the price was different higher. I'm not sure who the Heavyset Mexican lady is .I'm supposing maybe the manager came out to my car and verbally attacked me.I stated that the price was higher than was on the website. She told me that they did not have a website but clearly you can Google the name and it comes up with a list of their prices ,phone number and address. She yelled at me. Very unprofessional.Very Threatening. I would not recommend going to this restaurant if they do not honor their prices and will be verbally attacked. The price is also on their Facebook page.

Shout out to my Yelp buddy Guy H. whose review motivated us to try this place. We went for breakfast on a Sunday and luckily arrived before the big rush. I had the breakfast combo and really liked it. My eggs were cooked as requested, the bacon was extra crispy as requested, and the homemade biscuits were absolutely delicious: light and fluffy. I also got fresh squeezed orange juice. The wife had a waffle which she said was excellent, and her eggs and bacon (as add ons) were also really good. There really was nothing to criticize other than I did not get any ketchup for the hash browns. I was going to get corned beef hash but it was from a can so I passed. My standard for 5 star breakfast is Toulouse so although Angela's was a solid 4, even 4.5, it did not quite reach 5 stars, but I would return for sure.

Since the weather has been so nice lately, outdoor seating is super popular, so I'd recommend making a reservation if you can. Even though we didn't have one, they were still able to accommodate our group which we really appreciated. The service was amazing...everyone was so polite, attentive, and fast. The drinks were delicious and the food came out surprisingly quickly as well. They also offer valet, but if it's packed, there's parking across the street too which was convenient. Highly recommend for a nice lunch or dinner during the weekend. We'll definitely be coming back again!

The location is super cute and always packed. You definitely need a reservation or have to go super early to get a spot. There is valet parking as well as street parking, which can get a bit crowded. I've had a ton of different food items the years, but their fajitas are their signature dish for a reason! It comes out sizzling, fresh, and delicious. Do not pass up on the bone marrow sauce, it transforms the dish to beyond a 10/10! The salsas are always good and then tortilla chips salty and fresh. I start with a skinny margarita w a salt rim, which was good. Our waiter, Abraham, was great! He was very attentive and was very knowledgeable about the menu. We also order the ceviche to start, which was yummy! The crackers were a bit of an odd pairing for me and I stuck with tortilla chips, but overall delicious!! My friend ordered the steak quesadilla and thought it was tasty too.

We hung out comfortably and had a couple of drinks before heading out. The food is amazing!! Obviously every dish is meat based here and it's cooked to perfection. Seasoned deliciously and very tender. The garlic mashed potatoes were smooth and tasty. We also ordered Chicharrónes and guac. I'll admit I was very skeptical about The Chicharrónes because they're either cooked right or they're not. They got it down here. Here in Texas, chips and salsa are such a commonplace experience it's off-putting to pay for them. We ordered the guacamole and the chips and salsa come with it, so that was, I guess, better...but the guacamole was $16, so there's that. The salsa was tasty as was the guacamole, but again, for the portion it's really not worth it. We had the queso flameado, which was yummy and the flour tortillas are good! We split the sirloin and were underwhelmed. For a grilled meats place the steak was very under seasoned and wasn't giving us fresh hot grilled vibes. Meh at best, as were the rice and beans. We ordered elote as a side and it was really the best thing we ate. Service was friendly and efficient! Cocktails average $16ish. Again, for the prices we expected better.

Chris our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took his time walking us through the menu and explaining what made El Carlos Elegante so special. The drinks were perfect. My wife loved her Desert Flor while I thoroughly enjoyed my Modelo Micheleda. Her Surf and Turf one hitter was exceptional. I have to say my Crab Cake was just ok. It tasted a little pasty and very heavy on the bread. The Pulpo was absolutely amazing. Perfect texture and the sauce it was served almost had me licking the plate. The El Machete was incredible from its presentation, to the freshness of the corn tortilla, to the quality of the meat inside. Definitely recommend this. We really liked our Okra + Shishito course, we just wished it had more okra in it. The two things I loved about the Al Pastor was of course the sauce it was served on but the fact that I got to enjoy it like a steak. It was served sliced on a bias like flank steak. Typically Al Pastor is finely chopped and served in tacos and burritos, so this was a different eating experience for me. And of course it was delicious as well. We cannot wait to come back and try more of the menu.

That visit checked every box -- the food, service, ambiance, and overall hospitality were all exceptional. What really stood out to me then was the attention to detail. I had casually mentioned that one of my cocktails wasn't quite my taste, and Harry personally reached out afterward to say they'd gladly adjust it next time. That kind of thoughtful follow-up leaves a lasting impression and is exactly the sort of hospitality that elevates a restaurant experience. Unfortunately, this recent visit felt like a completely different restaurant. We decided to do a combination of à la carte dishes along with the Experience menu after being told this version would feature entirely off-menu items, which genuinely intrigued us since Ihad also done the Experience previously. At the start of dinner, we were asked about allergies and dietary restrictions. I clearly explained that I have a mango allergy and do not eat beef. Our server then asked whether I ate other meats, and I clarified yes -- and even specifically mentioned that if the machete dish was beef, please still include it because my friend could enjoy it and I really wanted her to try it. He confirmed it would be the sirloin version, so we happily agreed not to modify that course. So imagine our surprise when one of the first dishes arrived dressed with a mango vinaigrette. Thankfully, we barely caught him quietly mentioning "mango" as he set it down. We immediately looked at each other thinking, "Didn't we just discuss the allergy?" It was disappointing, but unfortunately also representative of the overall service throughout the evening. Our server seemed disengaged, inattentive, and often not fully listening. Empty glasses sat untouched, opportunities to order additional items were missed, and at one point we were simply handed the check without even being asked if we wanted anything else. We also ordered a bottle of sparkling wine and ended up pouring it ourselves for most of the evening because our glasses were rarely refilled. I completely understand not leaving the bottle tableside if walkway space is limited, but repeatedly needing to get up ourselves to retrieve it felt out of sync with the level of service one expects from a Michelin-recommended restaurant -- especially at this price point. Then came the machete dish. Instead of the sirloin version we specifically discussed, we received the vegetarian potato version. When the server asked how it looked, I politely explained that we were disappointed because he had specifically told us it would be the sirloin preparation. At minimum, I would have expected another protein substitution given the earlier conversation about what I could eat. I'm also still unclear whether the Experience menu was truly "off-menu" as described, since several dishes -- including the halibut -- appeared familiar. Had that been communicated differently, we likely would have skipped the Experience altogether and simply curated our own meal. At the end of the night, spending over $500 while pouring our own wine, nearly being served an allergen we explicitly disclosed, and receiving dishes different from what was promised made for a deeply disappointing experience -- especially after such a phenomenal first visit. It honestly felt sad more than anything because I know how wonderful this restaurant can be. I'm not sure what changed in the last five months, but the difference was significant.
